La Lory in Leicester

This rare find it’s like the best kept secret in Leicester. My Son and I went to try this wonderful place as I spotted Michi on the Menu. We were welcomed with a grate smile by the lady hostess, the first thing that strike me was the cleanliness. You could easily eat from the floor. We had Cujka as an aperitif with the tastiest Greek Salad and mixed Grill with mouth watering tender meat and delicious chips. We were speechless, I can’t wait to go and visit my Son again so we can indulge ourselves in this rare gem specially.

We discovered this restaurant late on a Friday night. New to the city, we received a warm and friendly welcome from the hostess, who clearly enjoyed her job and the people she was serving. This place served the unique combination of Greek and Romanian dishes. The food was plentiful, beautifully cooked, and with a generous serving of salad to accompany it. My choice was chicken wings, which were charcoal-grilled and full of flavour, and there were so many of them! My friends chose a schnitzel and a platter of mixed meats. They were equally delighted with their choices, and the quantity was so much they had trouble finishing their plates. I would say this is a great place to take friends. The warm, outgoing character of the hostess enhanced our enjoyment of the experience, and the food was impossible to fault. The only thing missing was more customers!

We found this restaurant by chance and although we were the only people there during the time we ate, the atmosphere was pleasant and the Romanian music in the background added authenticity to the food on the menu, a mixture of dishes both from Romanian and Greek cuisine with generous portions and beautiful presentation. We opted for moussaka, cabbage rolls and mititei (the traditional Romanian mince sausages) and everything tasted delicious. The waitress was somehow absent during the meal but she explained that she had been busy decorating the room upstairs for a function and after the meal she took us on a tour to show us what she had been up to. Overall a very good experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back again if I was back in the area. Mulțumesc!

Popped in last night for a pre theatre meal. Nice clean surroundings Unfortunately no one else in restaurant Ordered our meal but it took ages to arrive ! It was very nice but an overload of chips ! Toilets nice and clean. Could do with a more welcoming atmosphere

Four of us tried this place tonight, I opted for the Romanian food which I had eaten before while my friends went for the greek. The waitress kept saying to everything I ordered, Good choice, and I was in for a treat, Sour Cream and Trip Soup, with extra Sour cream and a red chilli on the side and pitta bread, don't be put off by the trip, nothing like my English Mother and Grandmother used to stink the house out with. My main was Cabbage Rolls, Stuffed of course with meat and served with couscous, delicious, and a desert looked like a donut, more the texture of a rum barbar, without the stick rum, lots of chocolate and cream. I will be back My friends went for the Greek, Salads, Tara & Tazagi with Bread, grilled lamb chops, and moussaka, with pancakes and tiramisu - all really nice, but I think the waitress was right, I did make a good choice.

Absolutely AMAZING,had a very pleasant experience,you could see the warm welcome, and the passion and taste it had been put in this place. The restaurant looks excellent,the food is HEAVENLY.... Lots of appreciation and respect for the owners and THE CHEF.. 💯💯 THANK YOU is a definitely return to this place

I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch here having watched the restaurant be fitted out beautifully. The decor is lovely, the staff friendly, and the food delicious.
