It was a brief visit today after a dog walk with a friend.. my coffee was fab: My arancini was so good. The staff were very welcome and friendly. I loved it

The place is not very big but the food is good. I know it's a strange idea to want to eat Italian in England, but that day we liked the idea. Good meal, very tasty. We also had some very nice little pastries.

Within easy walking distance and serves great food and excellent coffee.

Love this little Italian deli on Oakbrook Rd. Amazing coffee and lots of delicious sandwiches, pastries, cakes, and deli items. It's definitely one of my favourites in Sheffield. Owners are super friendly!!!

Known about this place for a while, eventually got round to going, invited by a mate to meet and have coffee and a sandwich and was introduced to Dave, who then cooked an amazing sausage/chilli/tomato/mozzarella etc etc sandwich in-front of us whilst we drank coffee. Cake afterwards and more coffee. Lots of friendly people walking by and saying hello to Dave and his staff, clearly a celebrity in the area.

Rainy day, sat outside under the shelter & had the most delicious food & coffee. Very friendly service.

What a lovely find!! The owner made us the most delicious veggie sandwiches to take away made from authentic Italian ingredients. An absolute treat and very well priced. He was so friendly as well, really makes a difference. Will be returning to try the coffee and the incredible looking pastries!

My favourite deli that’s also a coffee stop, run by a lovely bloke who’s passionate about Italy and really looks after his customers. I often stop by for an espresso which is invariably 5 star and a nibble, there’s usually a great convivial atmosphere, colourful local characters seem to be drawn into this place and everyone’s in on the banter… It really is like the best little cafe you might find down a quiet road in Florence or Genova …

I came here with my mum a week before I left to travel around Italy. We hadn’t expected much but it turned out to be one of our favourite times together. The cafe has a nice chilled European vibe with incredible coffee and pastries. I’m usually a pistachio croissant fan but opted for the almond croissant and was instantly converted! We sat out at the front of the cafe and whilst it was a grey and drizzly day it was so nice to sit out with a coffee whilst it was quiet. The people running the cafe could also not have been more friendly and welcoming. We are definitely going to go back again to have the coffee & croissant and walk around the woods behind. P.S I can confirm that this place still does the best almond croissants even after my Italian travels!

Wonderful food and the staff are so friendly

Does the best coffee, hot chocolate, bread and pizza around! In particular, the hot chocolate is special. A lot of cafes are just selling instant hot chocolate (I can make that at home), but not here, it has actual melted chocolate in. Pizza is lovely thin crust with plenty of topping, but without being soggy. Everything is served outside so the risk is lower and all done in a very friendly way.

The Flat Cap Dave special sandwich can’t be missed. The greens are delicious, the bread is so soft and the cheese is all stringy and melty. Best thing is when he toasts it in his big wood burning oven to finish it off. So delicious!

Having followed Anthony Bourdains trail to Hoi An Vietnam for the supposed 'Best Sandwich in the World' I can only say don't bother. The pizza oven baked salami and cheese sandwich we had cooked outside for us here on a cold November day was miles better. Get thi sen darn theer

Popped in on the way home from a dog walk and asked for a sandwich and a coffee, wasn't expecting much... unbelievable sandwich - melted blue cheese, beautiful salami with balsamic on a toasted ciabatta. Exceeded all expectations! Coffee was absolutely lovely too. Lovely staff; the owner clearly takes a huge amount of pride in what he does.

Such a little gem, always filled with locals (a good sign I reckon) who, along with the manager, welcome you in with open arms so quickly become part of the family. Where to start with the food and drinks, we'll the highlights for me are, the amazing brownies, vegetarian pastries and divine mochas! Plus they're dog friendly!

Went yesterday for the first time ,it wont be the last. From the minute we walked in we were made to feel welcome ,Dave the owner was superb ,the sandwiches he made for us were excellent we left the choice of filling up to him.The coffees were also very good ,it was obvious that all the customers that came in were regulars and made my wife and I most welcome. A real gem of a place and good value for money.

What an awesome find 6 years back. You are welcomed by the friendly team (Flatcap Dave) which is an instant warmer.He is very knowledgeable of areas of produce in Italy much like an historian. Great coffee and abundance of Italian sourced delicacies. It's the main hub in the heart of Oakbrook road that draws people in from far and wide or across the road if your Gareth F... Friendly vibes with the locals especially on event days. Love Prosecco Fridays..Dogs are welcome but only outside and bowl and water too. Something magical about this place. This is clearly a real part of the local community. The man serving (the owner?) was friendly and funny and his interaction with the customers suggested they knew each other well- great to see. My coffee was excellent and there were a lot of tempting products on offer. If I lived a bit nearer I could imagine myself being a regular.

My friend and I came here last week, we headed into this cafe by chance and it was genuinely the best decision we made all day! Everyone in there was so friendly, everyone knew each other and it had a wonderful atmosphere. When it came to drinks, I ordered a San Pellegrino and my friend ordered a hot chocolate - if you like a truly rich and thicker hot choclate then you would LOVE this one. The incredible food was just the cherry on top - my friend had a feta and lentil ‘sausage’ roll. I don’t personally like feta or lentils but somehow this ‘sausage’ roll was out of this world! I decided to opt for a sandwich with their salami (imported from Italy!) - I asked which one he would recommend (it began with a C... I can’t remember it exactly!) and he made up a sandwich for me in focaccia bread, with some cheese, some tomatoes, a bit of chilli and then heated it up so the cheese was nice and melted and it was without a doubt the best sandwich I have ever had (sorry Mum!). I would h i g h l y recommend going to this cafe - it scores full marks on all fronts; we were met by a friendly face, we had tasty drinks and of course we had incredibly delicious food. Whenever I come back in Sheffield I will definitely be visiting this cafe again ☺️

I stopped in here while visiting Sheffield for the first time. The owner and regulars were warm and friendly. They do a very solid traditional Italian style coffee and delicious cold cut sandwiches.Everything was spot on and unpretentious. I will definitely be back when visiting Sheffield in the future!

Well, not quite like Cheers bar but you feel like everyone knows each other in this lovely piccolo Italian style cafe and you soon find yourself joining in on random conversations, partly due to the intimate nature of the interior and partly because it is such a welcoming atmosphere. When ordering a sandwich I recommend asking for the surprise one and letting Dave just do his thing, you get a mix of meats and toasted cheese and pickled all sorts, beautiful! Then of course he has a range of Cronuts which are not to be missed If you fancy a bit of cheese and ham to take away there is a small but high quality range of them to buy. The ingredients matter a lot to this establishment, no compromises, all high quality and often imported from Italy. Would highly recommend it, as long as you don't all come at the same time as me :-)

Dave tiene comida y golosinas producen personalmente desde pequeño deli empresas familia italiana y las importaciones un impresionante Café brasileño, recién molido para cada taza (en serio! ). El lugar es pequeño e íntimo, pero la actitud del personal, dentro de la variedad de comida y flores frescas que sea más que la suma de sus partes. Y todo esto a un precio razonable. Altamente recomendado.

We visit at least once a week, but have started going more often now we have discovered the lunchtime sandwiches - nourishment for body and mind as the discussions range from politics to parties.

I was looking for a good coffee and a sandwich for lunch and I found excellent coffee a fantastic open sandwich - freshly made on focaccia bread with melted cheese great Italian ham, tomatoes, mini sweet onions and a little bit of chilli to give it a kick and some balsamic to top it off. The very friendly guy behind the counter suggested he just make something up for me so I thought why not as I'd gone there because of the great trip advisor reviews. There are also all sorts of lovely Italian foodie bits to buy. I came away with a large jar of the garlic chilli pickle which was imported from Italy directly. Great little place a real find!

We had a most wonderful early evening party here with Dave and Cathy producing top class Italian delights! Our friends packed in and sat outside chatting and chilling in the lovely surroundings x A great time had by all.

Just got home from our second visit to La Coppola and once again we loved it. You never know what you're going to get until you ask Dave what's on for that day. He is so accommodating and will make something that suits you. He uses the finest and freshest ingredients and whips you up the tastiest toasted sandwich you could imagine. My Husband had yellow fin tuna on his and said it was to die for. The atmosphere's always great, Dave is always welcoming and friendly and the place is usually full of charming regular characters. This really is a wonderful place, we first went there on recommendation and would also highly recommend it to anyone.

Sat and had a coffee here the last three mornings. Coffee is delicious and obviously made with lots of love and passion. Hard to find a really good coffee in Sheffield so this place is a prize gem.

What a fantastic place! La Coppola is a real community hub where neighbours really get to know each other. Since the deli opened across from our home, my family and I have met neighbours and families that we'd not met before and have made some new and welcome friends. Dave (the owner) serves great coffee, a good selection of Italian meats and cheeses, pasta, cakes and sandwiches - as well as selling well selected local produce! The front terrace is great in the sun and lets me pretend I'm on my holiday! Dave's relaxed and welcoming personality really makes this place special. Check it out people

Belting little cafe this. Friendly staff and the food is top notch and they serve A1 coffee too. I plumped for an Italian cheese and ham sandwich which was served on focaccia and stuffed with delicious salad and olives...just the ticket after a long bike ride. Bravo!!!

it's been a couple of years since I've visited la Coppola, as I'm not in the area very often. However, when I am I always drop in to La Coppola. the proprietor, Dave, is always friendly and very accommodating. I understand that the produce is all imported from Italy, and the coffee (I had the Latte today - twice) is certainly the best I've tasted in Yorkshire. Dave has a wide range of cheeses and meats and everything I've had so far has been delicious. Everyone who calls in seems to be extremely pleasant too. If I didn't live 30 miles away I would drop by every day, as so many local people seem to do. There is a lovely, laid-back atmosphere. If anyone has seen La Coppola and thought about visiting, I'd encourage them to do so. I'm very confident that it wouldn't turn out to be a one-off experience.

Love it here! Amazing service and amazing everything basically I love it! The sandwiches are always fresh and the man who works here Dave I think is so accommodating to what you want. I love to look at the counter to just visually take in all the Italian wonderfulness.

Been to La Coppola before and the coffee was first rate. This time I tried the hot chocolate which was just amazing and unlike any I have had in the UK. Had to use one of the Italian pastries on sale to mop up the bottom of the cup. Result!

Popped in here Monday afternoon for a catch up with a friend over authentic and delicious Italian caffe latte. The atmosphere and decor make you believe you could be in Italy and the owner is very smiley and friendly. Other customers were sampling freshly made paninis (I think) which looked very tasty.The only minor problem is it can get quite busy so it can feel a bit of a tight squeeze inside. It has a great outdoor seating area but we didn't fancy braving the windy, rainy weather on that occasion. Having said that I would definitely recommend a visit.

Without doubt the best flat white in Sheffield. I'm a coffee geek and am not one to throw out coffee-related praise easily so I was very impressed with this friendly, passionate coffee-house patisserie. The flat white was divine:- the milk was of a meringue texture with micro-bubbles. Try on one of a wide range of flat caps while you wait......... Awesome!!!!!

I'd been recommended this place on a number of occasions and on first glance didn't know what to make of it - it's fairly compact!However, it's clear that the owners take a real pride in sourcing and serving top notch Italian produce and the coffee was pretty special.I'll definitely call in next time I'm passing.

Well what a find! Went to La Coppola with a friend for lunch and was thrilled with the whole experience. The owner is lovely and took his time to chat to us. We were very well taken care of. The open sandwiches and sweet treats were all excellent, as was the quality of the food as well. The coffe was fantastic so if you are a coffee fan this place is a must. Well worth a visit! Go now :)

My friend and were looking for somewhere a little different for lunch and found La Coppola and I can honestly say it was a real find. We followed the advise of another reviewer who wasn't sure what to have so we asked him to sort us out with a few lovely sandwiches to share and boy was this the right thing to do. Delicious Tuna, Capers and Smoked Cheese, open sandwich and Mixed Deli meats and grilled cheese with a mixed vinaigrette dressed salad open sandwich. That along with a couple of lovely cups of coffee and a sharing plate of sweet treats and we could not have asked for more. Had a lovely chat with the owner and other diners as it is just that sort of friendly place, we were made to feel very welcome and very well looked after. Have already recommended La Coppola to several friends and we will most certainly be back. Thank you

I am no coffee expert. I honestly believed that a Rio Colombian Supremo was a second division football team based in Bogota and that a Mocha was a car manufactured in Eastern Europe. I do know however, that the milky coffee, called a latte, served up in La Coppola, Sheffield hits the spot. I am also acquainted with a lot of people, who thankfully know more about coffee than I do, who have informed me that La Coppola serves up some of the best caffeine drinks in the city.It is not the main reason why I am a regular at La Coppola. Yes digging in to a focaccia sandwich jammed packed with an Italian cheese , an array of salad, placed over a smear of homemade pesto, seasoned with olive oil, salt and herbs is also a pretty unique and gratifying experience. I could also mention the Italian sweet morsels or Faye’s delicious homemade cake that lingers in your mouth until you wash it down with that half decent cup of coffee or even a dangerously rich, thick hot chocolate. All of which has its attractions.The main reason I perch my bum on a La Coppola stool at least once a week, is for what the Irish call, ‘the craic’. Regulars from all walks of life congregate in La Coppola’s to talk about everything and anything such as the rise and fall of Italian fascism, ground improvements at Hillsborough, the litter in Endcliffe Park, the Sheffield music scene in the 80’s and 90’s or lambrettas! Nobody is allowed to take themselves too seriously and a sense of humour is a must. A passer- by, who pops in for some refreshment may be forgiven for thinking that he or she has walked in to somebody’s front parlour. Everybody appears to know each other and the conversation and laughter is normally bouncing off the walls. At the centre of this normally chaotic gathering is the proprietor of the establishment ‘Flat cap’ Dave. His cheerful and hospitable demeanour immediately puts everybody at ease. People can sit, stand, relax and be themselves. The La Coppola ambiance in this small but cosy establishment is second to none.So if you are in search of a decent cup of coffee, a bite to eat and lots of ‘craic’ Sheffield –Italian style, then La Coppola is the place.

With my sister working here on Saturdays, I had to give it a try- and now keep going back when I can. A special treat to myself when I get a long lunch 'hour' is a surprise sandwich from Dave, a cappuccino and an Arranciata Rossa ( blood orange) San Pellegrino. Dave selects surprise ingredients from the deli fridge, and serves them on phenomenal fresh Italian breads - focaccia with sea salt being my favourite, so far. The Italian breads are made locally at a renowned baker, and delivered fresh daily.When the sun shines, it's a little bit of heaven, sitting on the patio, matching life go by, and lunching on fine, fresh Italian sandwich.........and just writing the review is making my tummy rumble in anticipation of my next visit!
