Dined with friends, twelve of us to what could only be said was a brilliant evening. The meal/ meals chosen were exceptional, I on the main had the mixed grill, highly recommend that! The waiters were so tentative, extremely helpful to those that were having a Turkish meal for the first time. Finally, the atmosphere in the place was great. Highly recommend a visit, you won’t be disappointed. Chris

Not authentic Turkish food and not good food full stop. Two of us and we were charged £72 for starters and mains. I would happily pay this for food quality authentic turkish, however this was flavourless and bland. The rice was pilau rice like you have in a curry, not Turkish pilav. The chicken was flavourless and probably boiled/microwaved, in no way was it grilled. The other dish we had was mixed kebab, chicken again was bland and boiled, but the lamb was over cooked, dry and so tough. The salad was from a mixed salad bag from Tesco, dry and no flavour. The houmus was overpowered by raw garlic and the pitta bread was shop bought and toasted. Our waitress was lovely and very apologetic for not the food being slow, but I think the owner is delusional as it’s the food that is the problem not the service. Having said that another waitress spent the whole evening watching her colleague work so hard while she circled the restaurant, which was very off putting, until we had to ask where our bill was.

I wish i has read the reviews before booking to come here. The food took over an hour and when we queried why its taking so long we were told they have beem having problems with the till! I have heard it all now blame the till and not the service and chef. well when the food eventuality arrived it was cold. Alos everty was overpriced for what was on the plate. would have gor better value for money from the local kebab shops.

Sadly after trying it twice and really wanting it to be good.. it couldn’t be the case. First time the food was just bland and not very fresh, but we gave it the benefit of the doubt as the staff was friendly.. second time the food was rancid causing us severe stomach pain (to both of us) for at least a couple of days.. so no coincidences here! Food presentation was lazy and the salad was just cabbage (not very fresh btw) and a very lonely half slice of tomato (not fresh at all)..ohh and not cheap either.

I had a very enjoyable evening in this restaurant with family. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. I am not sure why there are bad reviews because the place was very clean and tidy. I enjoyed the evening with my Dad. I had a lamb grill with rice and it was a good portion. My Dad ordered a curry, but as he had not tried this dish before, he said he did not like the cheese (which was in the curry) and said that it was salty. However, I put that down to his own personal taste. Overall I'd say average meals in very nice surroundings.

....... and last time I will ever go to this restaurant. It smelt of damp but not sure if it was because of plastering work at back of restaurant. The food was mediocre. There was hair in all our dishes and no one apologised for this except to take the service charge of the bill. When the waitress came with the bill she asked what was to g with the food and when told about the hair she said that she couldn't understand it as the 'cooks' haven't got hair - laughable!! Anyway go if you wish but don't have high expectations. As said the first and last time I would ever come to this restaurant

This place has the makings of being an absolute gold mine - they have invested money on being in a great location and they have spent money on a very decent interior. My Parents are Turkish Cypriot and we know what a Turkish Restaurant should be dishing out - the food here is bland and the combinations used in the koftes have absolutely no resemblance to any Turkish ingredients leaving me thinking this is certainly not Turkish. Honestly if you have rated this place as anything above a 2 you are serioulsy no foodie connoisseur. The waitress got all 3 of our orders wrong however then compensated by bringing the correct ordered meats alongside the incorrect orders seperately thereafter. What this place needs is a decent experienced Turkish chef who knows the marinates as well as the actual ingredients as well as staff that actually know the menu. I have laid out the basic musts have in any restaurant business and hope for the owners sake that they take this on with an open mind, this being what i call constructive criticism - it would be a massive shame to see what could be an outstanding restaurant with some investment tweeking disappear in 2023...

This was quite possibly the worst Turkish restaurant I’ve ever been too. The chops were blatantly defrosted in the microwave then heated on the grill-the salad looked like it came out a salad bag with no olive oil salt pepper dressing at all. The lamb shish had no flavour and the chicken shish was so dry it tasted like cardboard. Please do not visit this restaurant if your expecting a Turkish experience or good food - the owner obviously thinks he can justify his prices and food quality just because he is in blackheath but it is awfully managed and the chef does not know what he is doing. Much improvement needed.

We visited at the weekend with friends. I had the grilled salmon which was perfectly cooked, and my husband was very happy with the chicken. After a selection of delicious starters there was no room for dessert. Will certainly visit again.

Just such a confused place! Very very bland and overpriced food and nothing makes sense! Here is why: We ordered burgers, they were so so so bland just A falafel in bread and a few chips. No flavour whatsoever, no salad or dressing or anything but that on some cheap square plates - think school cafe I ordered a mixed grill which made me almost angry. The meat had zero flavour to it, was obviously frozen and heated and the portion was small. Then some random salad and rice. Just bland and to make it worse, it was £18! Read my other reviews, you will see that I hardly ever moan about food establishments and always give them some space to review but this place was awful. The decor is so confused, cheaply done and goes from an attempt at Art Deco, to kebab house, to cafe to someone’s cellar. Just doesn’t work at all! The tables and chairs are cheap and very uncomfortable. The music was literally take that followed by elvis followed with enya!!! Nothing made sense. Nobody has taken any care with this place and to make it worse, the ‘chef’ was playing his awful house music from his phone over the restaurant music! Why would he do this???? The service is rubbish - nobody asked us how our food was as they probably anticipated the answer! The cost is horrifically high for what you get. Just so so so over priced for what it is. This is the worse restaurant I have been to in a very long time Lastly, it’s not nice seeing the ‘chef’ handling greasy machinery between cooking food!!

We had a lovely take away last night from Koy. Really recommend it, great halloumi, borek, kebab in a box and the vegan kofte curry was great too. The kebabs came with lovely salad and pitta.
