Fantastic Lunch, Great Service and Value For Money. Let me start by saying we love our Friday lunches out! We try and support Midlothian businesses and for a number of years to have visited a well known Indian in Loanhead. Since the start of the year, service and quality have rapidly gone downhill. But, this review is for Koshi, so let me get back on track! Three of us had lunch here is April and it was fantastic. First impressions, I thought we were visiting a community centre, but don't let the entrance put you off. Once inside we were greeted by lovely staff, shown to a table and drinks orders were taken very quickly. We had the 2 course lunch plus poppadum. Let me start by saying the lunch is exceptionally good value - the same can't be said for the poppadum. We all know these can be a rip off - £4.00+ for 4 thin pieces of cardboard and a small selection of dips - these were not value for money - but lesson learned, we won't be ordering these again. But, now on to the positives. The starters arrived - all 3 of us had something different - Chicken Tikka, Chicken Pakora and Sheek Kabab. The presentation and quality of the food could not be faulted, clean plates all round. For main again all 3 chose a different item - Chicken Makhani, Lamb Korma and Chicken Jalfrazi. Very good portion size and again presentation was super. You can have a choice of rice or naan. We opted for 2 rice and one naan. Rice was light a fluffy and a good amount, the plain naan was cooked to order - slightly well done. Complimentary coffee followed and we also had 1 soft drink and 2 Indian beers. Total cost was just under £60.00. We were only 1 or 3 parties in that Friday lunchtime. Koshi's is open on a Friday and Saturday for lunch. Please do yourselves a favour and head here for lunch or dinner. You won't be disappointed! Take out is also available for the locals - I hope this is proving popular as we loved it and we'll be back soon. Koshi, thank you for a delightful lunch, you have a great set-up here.

Koshi is 100%. The quality of food is magnificent. Quite simply the best Indian food I have tasted anywhere. The staff are attentive, friendly, welcoming and polite. The restaurant is absolutely spotless and very comfortable. The menu is delightful. If you're looking for a top Nepalese/Indian restaurant you must try Koshi. You will have exceptional food. Whilst I very rarely leave reviews, such was the amazing experience at Koshi, I felt compelled to write this review.
