One of our favourite places to eat in gosforth. The food is really tasty, the staff are always friendly and it has a lovely atmosphere. Would 100% recommend!

Such a missed opportunity. Great local spot, nice staff, good ambience but the food is awful. The worst pizza I've had in Newcastle, watery, overcooked pasta and no real taste or flavour. Do yourself a favour and walk 5 mins to Corsaro for some great Italian food.

Lovely pizza restaurant. Plenty of gluten and dairy free options. Knowledgeable staff. Could of done with more staff on when we went as it took a while to get attention once our pizzas were finished and we wanted pudding. Lovely vibe to the place.

Always consistently good but can be very loud when the Prosecco girls hit 11 on speaker.

The food here is top quality. The pizzas are perfect, with a range of toppings that balance really well. Deserts are on a board so I don't know if they are the same weekly. BYOB or buy here. The only thing I could say bad about the place is it's hard to get a table, because it's so good!

I had no idea this place existed or I'd have been in sooner! Really good fresh food, with a great variety of veggie and vegan options, and clearly labelled gluten free options too. The pizza bases aren't amazing in my opinion, and the cheese on the Margarita wasn't great either, so I wouldn't recommend the pizzas. But the salads are fabulous, and I'm excited to try a few more non-pizza dishes on the menu. Sadly the decaff coffee I had was overly bitter, but they do potentially the best carrot cake I've ever had in my life - perfectly spiced and so moist 🥹🥕

Koru is a gem of a place. Very very tasty food, beautiful ambience and super nice staff. I love their pizzas, lots of choices, quality toppings and a fabulous dough. Basically everything you need for the perfect pizza! They are always happy to let you walk in without a booking. Staff always makes you feel extra welcome, can't praise them enough!

I tried the spicy beef pizza but did not enjoy it, however my friend had duck & hoisin sauce pizza which was much better but a little sickly &/sweet so I could not have eaten one to myself. It was very hot outside and in and we were at the very back of the restaurant furthest away from the door and air. The staff are friendly polite and on the ball. Not sure I’d go back

I was pleasantly surprised the wood was amazing I enjoyed an amazing pizza, the rest of the table all had different dishes which all looked amazing.

Starters and desserts are pretty good. Average pizzas, expected base to be better cooked and crisper. neapolitan style also needs longer in a wood fire oven

This is the best atmosphere of any cafe I’ve ever been to. Beautiful aesthetics. Rose Latte is delicious — it’s like drinking a Turkish delight. Service is friendly & caring, both staff and owners. Amazing food. Don’t skip a visit! So worth it.

Lovely pizza place. Their salads are great too. The place is lovely, people are friendly and the prices are good too. We are very local and love it and my kids love to go there on their own as well. It is so nice to have a place like Koru on Salters road which is not the nicest place in Gosforth. Love it !

Great food at a charming place away from the high street. Service was excellent from the staff who went above & beyond to cater for our needs. Well recommended for a return.

A great place to eat. Italian based menu with plenty of options for vegan, vegetarian and other dietary requirements. Atmosphere is really relaxing with soft music and general bustle of a restaurant. We ate around 4pm with our two young children, there were a few other families with young children and the staff were really engaging with them, which was nice. Food and ingredients were really fresh, you could look into the kitchen as it was being made which is always in my opinion. Another little highlight is that you can bring your own drinks in and pay a corkage fee, I think this one pound per bottle but I can't remember. There was also a wine menu if you don't want to bring your own. The space inside was nicely decorated with eastern style art as well as drawings and colourings that kids had done. Loads of plants and books as well which you can enjoy while having a coffee and a cake. There also a nice outdoor space to the front. All in all a great restaurant and worth a visit.

Lovely place which could easily get overlooked. Great atmosphere and friendly accommodating staff. Booked as part of a group of 8 on a Friday night and some of our group were a little late. This was no problem and never felt rushed to order. We also hung around a little after finishing and despite it being busy never felt like we had to leave. The menu is extensive and there is so much to choose from. I had the florentina pizza and the toppings tasted delicious. I’ve marked down a point for food purely as personally the base wasn’t my personal preference. But I can’t fault the service atmosphere and general vibe of the place. Would definitely return

Visited Koru for first time last Sunday as part of a foraging course. So only had an Oat latte which was exceptional, along with the whole vibe of the place, owner and staff. Menu looked fantastic so will definitely be back for food

Update Jan 2024: Another gorgeous meal here. Impeccable service. Beautiful atmosphere. Interesting mixed clientele. And talented folk in the kitchen. Perfect for date night, friends, or family meal. Aubergine goats cheese pizza had so much flavour and was loaded with toppings. Goats cheese bruschetta was mwah too. Highly recommend. Book early to get your 2 hour slot here. Original 2021 review: Gorgeous place with beautiful stone baked pizzas. I had the chorizo and coconut cream pizza and there were so many I wanted to try on their interesting menu. They have a nice little kids option too. Beautiful interiors too - I feel like I could spend all day here! Highly recommend

Amazing food with comfortable and beautiful vibes. The taste of foods is surprising. It is worthwhile to sample everything on the menu. Most surprising is that the menu has matcha latte which tastes absolutely delicious. The lady and young man always smile and are energetic. We had a couple of pizzas and a salad, which were absolutely delicious. Having been so happy with our mains, we opted for some desserts, the banoffee sundae, and the waffle. Unfortunately, these were not worth the money. The ice cream in the sundae was melted by the time it was served, and the waffle seemed to be microwaved (a bit too long) from a packet. My advice: stick with the mains.

Koru is a great restaurant with helpful, friendly staff. Their vegan options are great, some of the nicest pizza in Newcastle for sure.

Lovely wee place. Been twice now, and the staff were always lovely and welcoming. Good selection. My only qualm is that my pizza is regularly overcooked, to the point of chewy and difficult to cut and eat. And for a predominantly-pizza place, they really need to supply pizza cutters, instead of blunt fork and knife only.

This was the 2nd time we've been to Koru, the pizzas are fabulous and there are many gluten-free options available. We took our own wine. The service was prompt and friendly. We will definitely be going back 😋😋

The dogs love going here and will activeky want to go in when they get the chance! The pizzas here are pretty amazing, with a lovely pineapple and mushroom one. It’s got lots of vegan options too. Definitely one of the lovely little local gems in gosforth

This is my go to restaurant for Italian food. Family friendly, food tastes good and a nice friendly atmosphere. They don’t serve alcohol but they allow you to bring your own. There is a shop next door where you can buy your drinks from so not a massive inconvenience. 4 stars due to the hike in prices, I used to eat there every weekend but now not as much.

Great if you like to gamble. Sometimes a lovely experience with really tasty, unusual pizza combinations. Sometimes, the pizza dough is flat and you get squashed on a table that is far too small despite prebooking.

The pizza is delicious! I had The Rainbow pizza and the olives and sundried tomatoes were so tasty. Its great for vegans as they do vegan cheese and vegan options for a number of different pizzas. The staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is really cosy and welcoming.

The food was good but could have used a little more flavour. The pizzas are filling but the main meal/pasta portions are tiny and I left still hungry. In addition for a place called peaceful pizza the wait staff were rude and kept rushing our party. We got told 4 times there was an upcoming booking. Okay, we get it. And then they rushed us out. I've never had such bad service just because another table has arrived. I won't return and it definitely wasn't a peaceful visit.

Someone recommended Koru saying it was the best pizza ever and dog friendly so had to try it. The pizza was deeeelicious, we went at 4pm so was really quiet, super fast service, lovely people, they made a big fuss of patch the pirate puppy and gave him treats and things to keep him quiet while we ate. It’s a cool vibe/ aesthetic. Highly recommend, I can’t wait to go back!
