Kome in Redbridge

AVOID! Ordered the 30pcs sushi platter and other stuff via deliveroo, the sushi platter was completely different to their photos and it came with warm and gooey stuff on top of some of the sushi, which bled to other sushi and were DISGUSTING! And of course they won’t do anything about it! See photos🤮

Avoid!! Ordered a takeaway via Deliveroo last Friday, I had the vegetable dragon rolls and the prawn stir fry noodles. I am now day 4 with food poisoning and have been severely unwell. I will not be returning nor will my family.

Small and nice looking restaurant that offers takeaway as well. We have been there for lunch and ordered bibimbap, which was served as dolsot bibimbap. The food was nice and properly cooked, if anything the stone pot should have been a little hotter and have a raw egg in it. But seemed that egg was available only fried at an extra. Lukewarm tea was a bit of a letdown but the service was good. In short good place a few tweaks away from very good.

Fabulous food !! Visited today with my mum and dad as they hadn’t tried sushi before. Delicious and came really quick. It’s not the nicest place to sit in and eat but was very comfortable and we really liked it.

I ordered a take out, the food was delicious, and they had so many vegetarian options! I’d particularly recommend the veggie gyozas and spring rolls, the sauce was to die for! Great sushi and curries too. Will definitely order again

Just had lunch at this lovely local restaurant in Woodford Bridge. Have been meaning to go in for ages and I'm so glad we did! We both had the Large Bento Boxes (chicken katsu and tofu teriyaki) with jasmine tea. Very good portion sizes and a lovely variety of food. Excellent options for vegetarians and vegans. Very tasty. The miso soup was especially good. A really nice lunchtime treat and they're open for dinner too. I'll definitely be going back again.

Ordered a takeaway and have to say I didn't rate the food. It was probably the worst sushi I have ordered, the tempura prawns were crusty and chewy and the gyoza was cold and crusty too, definitely didn't feel as if anything bar the Korean Fried Chicken were made fresh to order. Overall 3 out of our 4 dishes delivered were disappointing and we definitely will not order here again.

Love Japanese food, there are far too few in this area! Kome is great, always freshly prepared Sushi, love the teriyaki and katsu too!

Service used to fab- we order from here a lot. Ordered on deliveroo this evening - the Katsu curry sauce was missing from the chicken Katsu curry (a key ingredient) I Called the restaurant to ask for them to send it, the staff member I spoke to was so rude, shouting down the phone and took several minutes to get the details of our order up. They then refused to send the sauce saying they don’t deliver to our postcode and the sauce must have fallen out of the bag with the delivery driver because we ordered so many items?! I asked what they planned to do to rectify the situation and I was harshly told to take it up with deliveroo as it wasn’t their problem as they can’t deliver sauce to us or refund us? We regularly order over £40 worth of food but never again.

Amazing food best food I’ve tasted in awhile I had a takeaway and it was lovely and warm something I don’t experience a lot in Woodford thank you

We have not ordered from Kome for a long time so we ordered online for collection. None of the kitchen four staffs wore mask and the thought of them talking to each other over all of our food was just not we need right now...

Ordered a small chicken Katsu and tempura prawns. It was really terrible overall , the prawns were stale & salty flavour and not fresh .... the Katsu chicken was not what you would expect using cheap chicken.....stay clear!

Yes we ordered a meal as the birthday girl wanted to try the Komi buns. Arrived via Uber delivery driver who was nice, all down hill from then. Half the order was missing, what was there was cold and a bit greasy.Rest assured never again!! I should have read the reviews before I ordered silly me.

Ordered takeaway from Kome for the first time last week. The food was tasty, good sized portions and efficient delivery. Will definitely order again.

Never again! Terrible quality! We ordered through Just Eat, delivery was quick. However the food was cold, the quality was the lowest we have ever had from a take away. The beef dish did not had any beef in it and the sushi, well I spit it out immediately as it was dry and cold and tasted like it's been sitting there all day. Overpriced for what you get. We ended up making dinner after it as we didn't eat much at all. I have attached a picture of how much went into the bin. A waste of money!

I have ordered many times from Kome Express South Woodford for takeaway delivery. I love a bit of Katsu as well as Salmon sashimi and sushi. I typically order these but had a good chilli chicken too.Having tried many katsu curries over the year this is the restaurant I come back too, crispy fresh chicken, generous portion of curry sauce and rice as sticky as it should be. Also love their sushi. Delivery is always quick and reliable too. I only order from them direct nor Deliver - the only time I used deliver the quality was not as good - missile of first lockdown and they prolly use a a different kitchen

Fool me once shame on me.. fool me twice shame on you... for the second time you have delivered my order incorrectly and not provided me with what I have paid for. Don’t worry you won’t fool me three times. Clearly Kome Express are not interested in my business. Well, I have heard Sumo Fresh actually reads your order. Guess they owe you a thanks for providing them with another customer.

Had an Uber delivery from the express branch of Kome. Very very tasty food that came quickly. Bento boxes fresh and big! Good that they separated the sushi order from the hot food in different bags when delivering. Once had sushi and hot food delivery from a well known high street Japanese chain who didn’t do that and was very poorly the next day!

Ordered via Uber Eats yesterday - bento box and some gyoza. Was tasty (it always has been in the past), but half way through eating the bento box rice I discovered an insect in it - it wasn't small, and had clearly been cooked with the rice. Not entirely sure I will be ordering again, which is a shame because the food does usually taste good and is bug free.

My sushi set came with an orange, very odd and certainly something that doesn’t go with sushi! It also tasted of orange too! Absolutely disgusting. Orange flavoured salmon is not what I ordered or wanted! My partner rated his 3/10, he said it was tasteless and clearly had been sat in a container for several hours. No wasabi came with the order, which is essential! Also they package hot food with cold sushi, which is very dangerous as raw fish should be kept cold! Food standards would have a thing or two to say about that. Not a patch on Sakura, which is so reasonably priced for great fresh sushi!

Best value sushi that delivers to Loughton I’ve come across. Spicy tuna has a proper kick to it instead of just mayo. Chicken Katsu is a very generous portion. Personally don’t like the Chilli edamame as it’s drenched in oil but that’s a matter of personal preference. Definitely recommend the tuna or salmon lover sets.

We order from here weekly after finding this place on just eat, the food is fresh and so tasty, top quality like London restaurants. We love this little place and I’m sure other people do, they can get really busy so order well in advance. The food comes hot and fresh and in cute little packages. Beautiful food, ❤️

The quality of food is incredible especially for a local joint in a London suburb. See as how they're are down the road from my work and from my house, I'm not sure how I'm not broke from eating there whenever I can. Probably lucky my other half doesn't like Japanese food...

I have been getting my sushi from here for about two years now and every time it is lovely. The quality is 10/10 and the service is good to. Last time I went they accidentally missed out one of my curries and we called to say and they were very good and said we can come get it or next time we come they will add it on to our future order.Anyway, I went in today having almost completely forgotten about that and the man who works there or he may own it ? Not sure, but he recognised me instantly and told the lady at the till to add the curry to my order. I couldn’t believe he remembered! If you are thinking about ordering from here I highly recommend the dragon roll and the katsu curry.

Great sushi, great bao buns, great noodles - all fab. Really recommend it and everyone should try some of their chicken wings. Truly excellent.

Have ordered takeaway a few times from the Chigwell Branch. Went to the South Woodford Branch on Saturday evening and ordered a Bang Bang chicken to eat in.You can see everything that is happening in their kitchen and this is actually shocking. The guy who takes care of taking the orders and taking payments also helps out in the kitchen. It happens that him and a few other of his colleagues are cooking without gloves!! Coronavirus or normal times, this is totally not hygienic, especially in his case because he's touching the till and bank notes / coins which are full of germs with his hands and then goes to the kitchen to touch the food! So bad! About the food, it was microwaved, not fresh, the taste was bland and also my plate was dirty.

Ordered via justeat. The driver called as he was lost so I spent time trying to help him find our house he seemed to be getting frustrated with me and I was being patient with him, he eventually hung up and arrived late. He got out of the car and was aggressive is his greeting asking what is wrong with me?!? He then used a profanity in front of kids and neighbors... I couldn’t believe this! I called the South Woodford branch and said what had happened they explained it was their own driver. They have never called back to officially offer an apology or refund. I used this restaurant for over 3 yes regularly but will boycott it from now. Horrible experience and felt afraid by this aggressive attitude.

Delicious take away from South Woodford Kome express branch.Delivery service was excellent and quick. The Katsu chicken curry and the Korean fried chicken was so yummy. Have tried lots of Katsu curry from the numerous “Japanese” takeaways and Kome’s is one of my favourites. Crispy chicken and the curry served in a separate pot when delivered. I will definitely order again.

Sushi Delivery the way it should be. Ordered sushi for the family on a Friday night and it was outstanding. Fresh, great selection and very tasty.Very impressed. As far as delivery sushi goes I would give it a 9 put of 10.Not a 10 just because there is always room to improve!!! Lol...

Picked up a take away from Kome Express in South Woodford. Placed order on their app and got 20% off which was great. Food was ready in 10 mins. We ordered the spicy chicken wings, chicken buns and katsu curry. Everything was excellent and can’t wait to try other stuff on their menu. Service was good. Highly recommend!

The sushi was excellent, and all the sides were especially so. Some of the best edamame I’ve had, and the vegetarian(?) jellyfish salad was to die for! Slightly stingy on the fish roe, but that is my only complaint. To top it off, this place is not very expensive!

Just had a delivery from Kome. All I have to say it was very poor quality. We had a chicken katsu. The chicken was vile. It was stringy, and tasteless. The rice was over cooked Chicken gyoza’s - under cooked and tasteless Korean bbq chicken donburi- again was tasteless, and the rice was over cooked. I will not going back there.

Korean fried chicken is a must. No thrill, just a honest, delicious plate of food. Keep going back again & again.

Great place for Japanese food, Food is excellent. I order takeaways most of the time, and generally the food delivery is on time. I live 0.2ish mile outside their free delivery zone and have to pay the full delivery charge hence the 4*.

We (me and my family) have been experiencing the great taste of Kome food for recent years and amazed by the quality of their food. We have been ordering food from it's Chigwell Road (Woodford) takeaway every time we visit my sister living in that area. It's a takeaway outlet run and managed very efficiently by a sweet lovely couple Lian and Owen. we had the experience of visiting there a number of times for takeaway and met either of them or both, who always greeted us, talked to us and never forgot to smile. I found them very pleasant but at the same time very serious about the food and the ingredients they use in their food.That's perhaps one of the reasons their food is not very cheap as they don't compromise with quality. I was their once when their delivery came in and I was impressed to see the top quality avocado were delivered there. Their sincerity always amazed me and my food lover wife and the taste of their food equally pleased my sister and other friends who we recommended. I just thought why don't I write a review here as a satisfied customer, my comments perhaps would help others making a right choice! Having said that, if your order is not what I say it is, then I am sure it's one of those rare days as it happens to us just once and they explained. But 9 out of 10 times we were really really impressed with food as well as the service. I am happy to learn that they are opening an outlet soon next to South Woodford station that would have some seating facility. Can't wait to taste their hot food there!

My friend and i ordered from deliveroo on our first night in London and we really really enjoyed the food. She had some tofu noodle situation, was supposed to come with hot chilli sauce, yet they forgot to send it. I had duck udon and tempura prawns, and although it was absolutely delicious, something didn’t like me. I was up all night sick, hadn’t eaten anything else other than dry food over the day. Not sure but it was so delicious i was gutted.

I was very very impressed. Delicious japanese food. It arrived quickly very hot and fresh. Excellent customer service and nicest delivery i've ever had.

One of my favourites takeaway places. I have tried a lot of their dishes and the quality has always been outstanding. They offer dishes from Japan and Korea. If I had to highlight a dish, I would say the Haemul Bibimbap, that has recently been added to their menu.

I had Korean and I must tell you how amazing it was and how much I loved the food ,I had bulgogi and absolutely fantastic,ramen and bbq Korean my partner loved it,the quality of the food,right on time,i will be ordering my Korean food :) soon thank you :)Very good value for money. I recently moved to the area and decided to order for delivery some sushi. All of them were great and prices very reasonable. Definitely, I will be ordering soon as it is difficult to find places like this, with proper Japanese cuisine and good prices.

Love love love this place! The food is just to die for. Beats that dry manky sushi you get from marks and Spencer's! The sushi was delicious and so fresh. We also ordered the mix vegetable dun with curry sauce and rice and the teriyaki chicken. Beautiful food without that icky feeling you have after a takeout. Delivery was super quick too.

The food was absolutely amazing. I would recommend for a take away because the place wasn't too comfortable, quiet cold and quiet place. In overall I had a good experience.

I ordered some Sushi for Lunch time delivery for me, my brother and dad who are not familiar with sushi, we had the salmon skin rolls which were on offer (such a good price!), a salmon and avocado platter and a katsu curry. All was very tasty, chicken katsu curry was lovely! All fresh and tasty. First time customers and very happy and full.They even delivered half an hour before our 1pm slot (earliest del time) Thank you Kome!

This is a good place for lunch when you're thinking of Japanese food. The place isn't authentic Japanese but the food is still brilliant. Fellow sushi lovers will know the difference especially when it comes to soy sauce because they use a version that is quite sweet to my liking. Apologies for being so picky but I'm loyal to my Kikkoman. Drinks are quite expensive and the chairs are too low for sitting. However, I still love the place and will be coming back!

My sister in law introduced myself and partner to this sushi restaurant/takeawwy. And we havnt been able to stop going since. Only down side is they dont do delivery anymore to my address which is dissapointing as we use to order alot.

Ordered a takeaway from here. Food is a little on the pricey side and the portions are quite small. If the portions were bigger this place would be 5 stars.

I tried Kome for the first time I had never had sushi before but was pleasantly surprised! It is local to me so was perfect to order and collect however I did have to wait a while. I also found the portions to be rather small... luckily I ordered a few sides too ....

The staff are very friendly. We ordered- Avacado maki rolls Pumpkin potatoe croquette Veg gyoza Salmon teriyaki Prawn katsu (I have uploaded a pic) Made all Fresh and tasted good. Second time I have had from here.

We ordered a home delivery, food came on time and very well packed and presented. Every piece of sushi was worth it! We especially enjoyed the big prawn roll! Even my daughter who don't normally eat prawns couldnt get enough.

We have had Kome take away and now we have had delivery too. The food is delicious and worth the wait (everything is always to prepare/pick up or deliver 45 mins). Free local delivery too. Food is freshly prepared and the take away is spotlessly clean too. There are even a few tables in there incase you wanted to eat in. The food is presented nicely and tastes as good as it looks. It's reasonably priced for Japanese food too. We particularly like the Yakatori Chicken/Chicken Gyoza/Cucumber and Advocado Maki. A local little gem.

Just recently tried this little take away for something different from the normal fast food places and what a delight. Bright cheerful and immaculately clean inside the staff are genuinely friendly & pleasant. The menu choice is limited but sufficient

Great new Japanese restaurant serving sushi, hot food ( katsu curry ) etc and sashimi. Good value and fabulous quality ingredients. Highly recommend it.
