Went here on a whim. First time visit and wow it was fantastic. Had the Christmas lunchtime special, was beautiful. Lovely friendly service. Left my scarf and the gentleman was looking out for me when I went back even though they had closed. Thank you. Definitely will recommend and can’t wait to go back

Wonderful flavours and amazing staff. The food is always so well prepared and show-cases the amazing authentic flavours and cuisine from Kerela . This is my favourite restaurant in Newark and the team deliver a great service to complement the food. If you are in Newark do not miss this treasure!

I love Koinonia, been several times before and get takeaway often. Incredible food, nice people. One thing I love is that it isn't the usual "general Indian" fare - korma, tikka masala, etc. It's specifically Keralan so you get to try new and interesting dishes. I also love that they have actual Indian desserts, and home made ice cream.

Fantastic meal, we had the specials(fish bondha and a Daal Gosht) as well as a prawn curry and lamb stew, all delicious. Koinonia have consistently cooked excellent, tender lamb every time we've visited. It's also worth acknowledging the joy of the opportunity to eat Indian cuisine that isn't just Tikka masala and pilau rice. We were here for our anniversary and we picked well, will return.

We are staying in Newark the night on our way north for a family event & popped in here for a meal. The staff were very welcoming & attentive, more over, the food was delicious. My husband had the special which he thoroughly enjoyed & I had rice & the lamb chop starter as my main, lovely!! In fact it is so lovely that we will probably stop off for lunch Sunday on the way back, it's that good.

I could not believe this taste of south India hidden away in a Newark shopping precinct! The food was brilliant - my husband is vegan and I am vegetarian - we had a great deal of choice on the excellent menu and the staff were attentive and very on the ball with our dietary requirements. The food was outstanding. I adore masala dosa and this was excellent. Everything was fresh, tasty and well described. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

Always like to call in here when visiting Newark as they offer a great value lunchtime special Thalli with a dosa bread. Choice of chicken or lamb served with several lovely vegetable dishes and all very tasty. The rice is nice and fluffy too. Prompt...

As a long term vegan, I was delighted to see such an extensive vegan choice on the menu. Every aspect of Koinonia was excellent : the quality of the dishes, the friendly and professional manner of the staff, and the very reasonable prices.
