We were attending a gig at the Artisan Tap, the band wasn’t on until 9pm and so we decided to pop into the Kismet first. We hadn’t booked and it looked busy, so we were pleased when we were told that a table for two would be fine. We didn’t know what to expect as we had never been to The Kismet before. I make my own Indian cuisine, including my own blends and so we are quite particular when we try new Indian restaurants. The service was impeccable, very attentive and professional, without over doing it. The food was cooked to perfection. My husband had a fish dish and I had the Malai chicken. Both were amazing. The menu had some unusual dishes on it. All in all a very pleasant experience and we will definitely be going back to try another meal. Many thanks.

Both my wife and I had excellent Rogan Josh, mine Lamb and hers was Quorn., but the star of the show was my son's King Of The Grill platter. Great meal and decent service.

This, for me, is amongst the best Indian restaurants in Staffordshire when it comes to taste, service, and portion size. We are always greeted on arrival and made to feel extremely comfortable and welcome. The waiting staff are always pleasant and helpful. Two of our party members are vegan, and there is accommodation for people leading a Vegan and Vegetarian lifestyle. The food served is always very tasty and well presented and this establishment probably snatches top spot out of all the local restaurants for value for money. The decor is lovely, and it's very clean and well-kept.

Ordered from here, because our usual was closed, read via the sentinel how busy they were, sorry but not good at all, the chicken 🤢 seriously I am not a moaner, but thick sliced chicken? Did not taste like chicken? And was chewy as! Looked like the frozen variety! Sorry to leave the review, but 💯 was a waste of money.

Had a takeaway delivered from here tonight. Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend. The chicken Achari is to die for 😋😋

We have been to The Kismet Hartshill many times this past year, with a work party, with friends and as a couple and always enjoyed it. We had booked a 'works' night out again for 20 people last weekend but unfortunately our experience this time wasn't great. The food was lovely but we didn't feel we were looked after very well. 17 out of our party arrived but there wasn't enough seating or place settings. Two of our party were virtually sitting on top of one another. We asked for another chair and table space but were told no, we asked for another place setting and were given a knife and fork, not enough cutlery for starters and mains. One member of our party was literally hanging off the seating and was clearly very uncomfortable. We asked 3 times for this to be rectified but it wasn't and didn't even receive an apology. It's a shame but we won't be booking again as the level of customer service expected just wasn't there.

After hearing great reviews about kismet, I decided to give it a go for my birthday! Have to say it was the best Indian I have had for a long time, definiltey lived up to the reviews!

I ordered a tarka daal with my main meal, and I reminded the guy several times of this order due to poor service in the past. Despite this it still wasn't served with the meal. I ordered a drink three times and it never came. Take my advice and go to monsoon instead. Very poor service.

Comfortable stylish & very welcoming, great menu fantastic choices. My only disappointment was the menu was difficult to read with the low ambient lighting where I was sitting, however I did speak to the owner who happened to be there and took onboard my only issue and thanked me and said he would try and address the issue. Great place it’s a jewel of the village.

We visited this restaurant a few years ago for an 18th birthday party and I wasn't very complimentary. The food was hot and very nice with lots of choice. Can I take this opportunity to thank the bar and waiting on staff who were all polite, friendly and very helpful. Serving 15 starters and main meals cannot be easy but they did a brilliant job.

One of the best in the area, high end/modern feel. I’ve tried a few dishes and all have been delicious. Staff are attentive and helpful. The starters are varied (pin the platter a must). Never had a bad meal here.

Booked at 17.20 on a Friday night and they managed to get me and the other half in for 7pm. Staff are always super friendly and the food is amazing - fresh and tasty. They have a very simple menu (as opposed to some restaurants that have a million and one dishes). I recommend the thali dishes as its basically Indian tapas - good if you want side dishes and they serve just the right amount. I do recommend booking in advance on Fri and Sat nights to avoid disappointment though, we got lucky 😊

Amazing service and wonderful food.. we visited as a large party this evening. We could not fault the place! The service was attentive without being over bearing, drinks and food were prompt… food was amazing! Will definitely be back… thank you!

Delicious food, great atmosphere. We tried this restaurant for the first time, after using the Burslem restaurant in the past, and I can honestly say it is just has good.. dare I say probably better. The food came out on time and everyone ate a the same time (14 people). The staff were attentive, professional and friendly and they didn't hover around you like some other restaurants do. Would definitely recommend visiting the Kismet in Hartshill, 5 Stars from me and my guests.Would definitely return in 2023. Well done guys.

Food was superb - as was the service. Recommend the Roshun Fish and Chicken Tikka Dupiaza. Delicious! Will definitely be coming again!

Having tried many of the local Indian restaurants over the past two months we enjoyed this the most. We think this is the best within a ten mile radius. Food quality and portion size was excellent. Very nice interior, clean and spacious. Well presented food and modern crockery. Staff were efficient, friendly and welcoming on arrival. Excellent.

Ordered takeaway, it was the coldest uncooked most disgusting pile of rubbish that they had the shame to deliver. lids not fastened food all over the bag. Wouldnt give it to a dog.

We ordered a take away for delivery 1 and half hours later it arrived with only half order terrible service

Have been looking for a good take out for years and now we’ve found it. Mixed starter, Karahi, chips and nan. Great fresh food, hot and tasty. Will be coming back.

Went Sunday 27th 7.30pm they put on a really little round table as the main tables taken up by a group of 15/20 lads who were loud,rowdy in and out all the time they were like a load of football fans (covid forgotten) you couldn't relax at all and needed to shout across your table to speak to my wife, when food was bought just about fitted it on table ,2 dishes plate rice and man plus drinks were hanging on table just. Food ok but one drink we left to intimidating , awful anniversary sadly. Can't believe all them sitting together at this time? But obviously it about business. Kismet could have told us they had a large party of lads that might when I rang

We thought we'd have a change from our usual takeaway so was recommended the kismet. Tried to order online with 10% offer told don't deliver to this postcode ( we're only in Blurton) so had to phone the order through lose the 10%offer and pay £5 deliv . All in all almost £30 order be about 45 mins. 1hr 25 mins later order turns up driver drives off order incomplete 2 portions of chips missing and food portions rather small! Had to phone up they said they'd knock the money off nxt order but we won't be using them again so sent us our chips + extra rice and a beer that took another 20 mins had to warm food in microwave while we waited. Almost 2 hrs after ordering food was finally complete. The food was very bland we were quite disappointed and will resort back to using our regular restaurant takeaway

Wait was major!!!! Table was booked for 6:30 - didn’t get our food until about 8:20pm. Ordered as soon as we could. Paneer passanda was really good. But the wait was CrAzY!!!

I am so disappointed.......Despite ordering with the restaurant directly and having ordered many times before.Tonight, despite asking for NO SHELLFISH, we received our order with Prawns.Our order was late.........Contained something harmful to an individual with an allergy.And the way they responded to the complaint was very very poor.I Usually sing the Kismet praises. Tonight, I amSo dissatisfied and myCompliant has been handled poorly.

Fab delivery last night, 10 mins early, nice and hot, delicious. Can’t wait for the next one. Highly recommended

We experienced our first lockdown takeaway last night and there was no question that it would be from Kismet in Hartshill. We’re fortunate to live locally to this excellent restaurant and have frequented it many times and have often chosen to collect a takeout for our Sunday evening treat, but this was our first delivered takeaway. The food was exceptional and my South Indian Curry was possibly the best takeout meal I’ve ever had. The only negative was that the delivery took much longer than the 60 minutes quoted by Food Hub and since we normally collect ourselves in about 30 minutes, this was highly surprising, however the quality of the food soon outweighed the delivery timings and we will definitely be returning customers, however I do miss collecting and having a cheeky Cobra - perhaps you could add bottles of Cobra to the takeaway menu (apologies if this option is already on your extensive menu)

The standard of food, service and welcome is first class. We have never had cause to complain , the attention on presentation is excellent and the spinach dishes are my personal favourite. Mary

Terrible main meals! Tasteless curry, tasted more like a casserole. No spice at all in any of our dishes. Lamb was tough and the chicken dry and over cooked. Big chunks of onions and peppers. Really unpleasant. There are far better restaurants in the area. Would not recommend!

On 17th Feb the Kismet allowed us to book a charity night for over 90 people with a fantastic set menu specifically designed for us. With their help we were able to raise almost £1000.The staff went over and above to ensure a great night was had by all and the food was first rate. If you haven't yet experienced The Kismet in Hartshill, myself and I am sure 90 others from last night highly recommend you give it a go.

Visited with a large group on a saturday night, prebooked. Table was ready on arrival, drinks ordered and arrived promptly. Staff were polite and pleasant. Just a long wait on the actual meal, approx an hour and they missed a main off our order so one guest had to wait. Food quality was standard but chicken was a little tough. Price wise slightly more expensive than average so acceptable overall but its just a standard curry house.

We came here with friends to celebrate a birthday. Service was good to begin with. Drinks order was taken promptly and popadoms were brought to the table straight away. We ordered mains and sides, no staters. The wait was quite long to be served, well over 40mins. When the food came it was very nice. I had the chicken thali and there was just enough of everything. The Bombay potatoes here are my particular favourite.We had to keep grabbing the waiters attention to order more drinks, and the bill did not come itemised! Resulting in us all having our phones out to calculate our own orders!!

The poor review is based mainly on the service, the food when it eventually arrived tasted good but we had gone past wanting it.We were booked in with a party, the table was pre booked, we waited half an hour to be seated. They eventually took the order for the starters, when the starters arrived I had no cutlery, I asked at least 3 times and still didn’t get any I ended up using my sister’s fork after she had finished hers (I would of got out to fetch my own but it was so overbooked everyone was squeezed in and I couldn’t get out). We then had another wait for the mains to arrive (still had no cutlery), when they did arrive I was given my food with no plate and still no cutlery again I again asked 3 waiters for cutlery everyone on the table didn’t have any because they were taken away with the starters, why plates and cutlery could not have been bought to the table in between the courses I have no idea. No drinks orders were taken, and there was just no organization in the whole place.The food I had was ok but to be honest i had gone past even wanting to eat it because of the long wait.I think you need to concentrate on customer service and quality instead of cramming so many bookings in that you can’t handle. It’s a shame because I know people that have previously been here and said how nice it was.

Had table booked for 10 people for 9.30pm tonight.Didnt get seated until gone 10pm.It's now 11.25pm and we have only just had our starter plates taken away.No main courses anywhere in sight.CRAZY. Starter tasted nice but everyone is ready to go home now.Not good serviceUPDATEmains have arrived.....We have chicken in a vegetarian main and even worse we have raw chicken in a mixed grill.Really really really poor.

There was 16 of us and the service was wonderful the food fantastic I had not been here before but will be back when 16 people all go quite while eating cause it’s that good and not one complaint well done

Visited a few days ago with a party of six. The whole evening was perfect, the staff are lovely and very attentive but not in an over bearing way. The food was amazing, one of the best currys I've had in a long time and the restaurant was sparkly clean. Would highly recommend.

Arrived without a booking early on a Saturday evening. Very busy and with a reservation list as long as my arm however, we managed to be seated. Great vibe and the food was on form. You should try it.

Went with 2 friends and all agreed the food was excellent Not the most luxurious of surroundings but as above the food made up for this Thoroughly recommend this Indian , best Indian meal I have had for a while!

3 of us visited mid week on impulse. Fabulous menu, highly recommend the kismet special thali. Service for drinks could have been quicker as there were only 3 tables occupied including ours, but the food more than made up for that. Great prices too

The Kismet in Burslem was the first Indian Restaurant I was ever taken to by my parents and I've never been disappointed when returning. This has also been the case when visiting the Hartshill restaurant with my wife & family.

Prior to the Kismet taking over the restaurant, we had decided not to go there again as we had had some poor experiences. We visited the Kismet early April and had such a fantastic meal that we were back again one week later. The menu is excellent, so much choice and what we ordered was really tasty and plentiful. The staff were very pleasant and made us feel very welcome. You need to book if you are going on a Friday or Saturday.

Had a take away yesterday and the level of service and helpfulness of everyone was amazing, food was 10 out of ten, the mix balti gorgeous....thank you for making my son's birthday amazing

went with a family on Monday very nice food good service, nice restaurant every one in my family enjoyed the food only problem pickles served in dented tray and restaurant fail to provide safe baby chair.

Me and my partner came on 16/04/19. We sat on the stage, and food was great and service quality was standard. However, one thing let us down, one chap in a red blazer, the manager I presume, not here to disrespect, but lord all mighty, had an absolute stinker of a breath!! I’m sure other customers have experienced it and it is really bad, maybe it would be necessary for me to buy a mouthwash as a gift. But i repeat again, food was fabulous!!

We ordered starters 4 people in our group got there's 20 minutes after everybody had finished. For mains we all ordered curry dishes, naan breads, rice and chips all food served was lukewarm. There are cheaper and better restaurants in Stoke-on-Trent won't be going back.

we went recently , not to eat in but for a takeaway. The service was brilliant, very polite and attentive. This was early on a Saturday evening. I wanted it to be brilliant, it just wasn't unfortunately. I had a special koria, asked for it hot. It was mild and to be honest had little taste at all. Very good ingredients but bland, but suit beginners to India food. Others has Jalfrezi, they said much the same but it was watery. Would I try again? maybe give them a second go but would have a madras or vindaloo to see if they can get some punch in their curries

We've been here several times since it changed hands and each time the food and service have been great . The staff are really friendly , inviting and helpful and nothing seems too much trouble . Food is delicious ! This place has now become our favourite .

Arrived early and we're asked to wait in bar area .no one even came to ask if we would like drinks .just went to bar and ordered ourselves . No problems with the food it was lovely but really we sat waiting ages after we had finished ..no one came to ask if we wanted coffee or dessert which we would have liked but we gave up and got up ask for the bill . Still no one came and had to go and ask for bill again . Poor service no smiles from any staff no where near as good as the Burslem one .. good food miserable staff

Great food. Attentive service. Nothing too much trouble. All our meals arrived quickly and were excellent My wife's meal was a bit too hot for her taste which is no one's fault really but they changed the meal in seconds and didn't charge for either.

Arrived 9.30pm as per booking. We were seated in the bar area, as they said they couldn’t locate our reservation, although we had contacted them twice prior to the evening to secure numbers, a party of 9..they eventually found our booking & we were seated at our table approximately 9.45pm. We ordered drinks around 10pm but we had to ask if we could order our food this was about 10.10pm. We had to ask where our food was & if we could at least have our poppadoms!! Our main meals arrived at about 11.00pm!!! This was quite a wait and even then one of our party didn’t receive their main for an additional 15 minutes. Also a vegetarian meal was ordered by one of our party ‘vegetable Massala’ this was potatoes, onion & White cabbage - not really vegetables and truly awful!!! Never had this issue when it was the ‘Nivana’. Never again.

On arrival we were put in the waiting area but were not offered drinks which was not a good start but once we had been seated things improved, the popadums and chutney selection was really good and the main courses were excellent as was the service overall, highly recommended.

Another fantastic curry, partner not a spicy person but staff are friendly nothing too much trouble and recommend alternatives. Mr Knobbie and Jane

Went in for the first time last night with a group of friends, we were all looking forward to it as we’ve heard good things but we won’t be returning!

Visited for the first time with a group of 12 and it was quite good. Place seemed clean and the prices were ok. Food was delivered promptly and I didn’t hear of any complaints. Not sure if I would return but it was ok.

Been to the Kismet a couple of times over the last month for different events.

Lovely food and good service what more could you ask for. We all enjoyed our meals very much and were very pleased with the changes.

Lovely food and venue nut only thing spoiled evening was been asked to leave after only 75 minutes even though booked 2 wks before its a good job didnt want coffee or dessert not even offered bill bought soon as finished meal

Been here a few times since kismet took over and each visit the food has been really good same with service which sadly let the previous owners of nirvana down

We popped in here one Thursday night and it was good to see the restaurant was pretty full, we hadn't booked but there was no problem getting us in. The whole experience was really good and I think this may now be my favourite Indian restaurant. It's good to see they have such a variety of meals on the menu, the service was excellent and the food was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Will be back

Booked a table as it was Saturday night and we knew it would be busy. Arrived on time and our table wasn't ready, waited for ages for the extra chair to be brought to the table and in the end pinched one from the empty one next to us. Waited and waited for someone to bring menus, had to ask for them. Drinks order was taken and food was not ordered until we had been sat at our table for over half an hour.

Called in here after a night out & the place was lovely, did have to wait a while for the food but when it did come was really hot & tasty, definately somewhere to go back to.

Visited on Friday with the girls. Excellent service, beautiful food and reasonably priced. Keep up the good work and we will definitely be back again. 😄

This place is a gem. Well refined. Immaculate clean. Every dish fresh and presented well. Everyone left clean plates ! Highly recommended. Food and service excellent ! Will be visiting in the future
