Popped into the Kings Head and it did not disappoint. We both had the Sunday roast, turkey and beef. The food was delicious and for only £8.95 for a regular portion, it was well worth the money. Friendly staff who made us feel welcome and if you are ever holidaying in Hemsby, this place is a must! We would definitely return if we were up that way in the future.

What a fantastic find! Really lovely pub, lovely modern fit inside and a beer festival with a really good selection of beers. Landlady was really friendly and knowledgeable on the beers. And what was good is the locals were really friendly too (not always the case on a local pub). Definitely will be visiting again when back in the area. Thank you Kings Head 10/10!

Fabulous roast lamb dinner. Lovely and hot and just like we’d cook at home. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. They made us feel very welcome with our dog who we treated to the pubs doggy roast dinner. 10 out of 10 all round. Finished a perfect meal off with the syrup sponge pudding and lashings of custard. OMG. Best I’ve ever had.

Good local wet pub. No food, good ales and plenty of locals, just how a pub should be. Dart board and pool table plus nice beer garden out back.

Why assume everyone uses Facebook? What's wrong with simply putting a menu on your website? The place might be ok but without seeing a menu first we'll never know. Business lost 👎

Our family of 4 visited on Good Friday lunchtime for Fish & Chips. Fish was lovely and fresh. Brownie was home made and gooey in the middle- the kids shared an adults portion. The service was amazing. We were warmly welcomed. The landlord couldn’t do enough to help us and make sure we had everything we needed and the kids were happy. Definitely worth a visit :)

Such a warm welcome, felt at home instantly. Being a Sunday it was roast dinner, we had the beef, which came with at least 5 veg. Food was fresh and meat very tender. Followed up with Apple Strudel and custard. Decor modern, and bright with a very well stocked bar, too many gins to count. Will definitely visit again.

After my day at work and as I am new to the area I thought I’d visit my local. The Kings Head in Filby Was not disappointed. The greeting was great and friendly. Obviously the reason to be there was a pint. Great selection even a Christmas Ale. The barlady was very good and made anyone arriving very welcome I believe the Name was Debbie So I’m glad I have a decent little local which may I say does a cracking pint. Top Draw

We came for Sunday lunch, it's quite and had a cosy atmosphere plenty of tables. For lunch we chose the Roast beef. The barmaid was very nice and friendly and didn't mind me asking what the price was, (I didn't notice any price for the roasts but there is a blackboard of specials that had prices). It was £8:95 each. They were excellent lovely home cooked vegetables and good quality and portions. My husband also had the chocolate fudge cake for dessert. We definitely recommend. ( The ladies toilet was also excellent).

We called in for a quick bite of supper. Not been before despite it being just down the road. Very quite, but it was a Tuesday evening. New chefs first night on duty. A pleasant enough meal. The atmosphere was okay, but not many folks on. The bar staff were very friendly and made us felt welcome. Great range of find on offer. We will be going back soon but probably on a weekend when I would it will be a bit more lively.

Had the Sunday roast today (Oct 2018). IT was very nice and reasonably priced too (£8.95pp, £4.95 kids). Nice thick slice of beef, nice gravy not too salty, nice homemade yorkie and decent roast potatoes which is where I find roast dinner often fall down. Staff seemed friendly and helpful and we didn't feel like having younger children with us was an issue at all. We went early and it was still quite quiet. If they keep doing nice food like this, it deserves to get a lot busier.

Visited a few years back it was so run down, seen it has had a face lift so decided to take a look. looks the part, however the owners having spent a fortune must have money to burn. Stopped here for a drink and dinner as we were traveling back from the seaside , we just missed the local tea room so we decided the next pub will do . On arrival all looks clean and re furbished , asked the landlady if we were ok for dinner , yes cooking til 7 . Had a look at the menu , usual fair , I opted for the ploughman’s with a side of chips my girlfriend ordered fish and chips . Food mediocre at best fish (grey in colour ,lacking in taste ,)processed probably from Tesco frozen in batter ,tinned mushy peas , chips looked rustic skin on and double dipped , my ploughman’s was very basic , u know the type tasteless cheese , spongy onion budget salad a frozen quick cook roll a teaspoon of chutney and coleslaw with a mountain of chips . My girlfriend thought the desert might b worth a try , unfortunately if u microwave a pie the pastry goes soft with the steam it creates surely we have all worked that one out .... obviously not . Then drowned in custard . Sent straight back and then when leaving had to ask for my money back on the desert as no offer was made . Was informed the six sold yesterday were all consumed without complaint . My advice to you all if looking to eat in filby unless u want a bowl of crispy chips try elsewhere . Maybe I’m being harsh but it’s my review and every word I write is 100% honest .

The pub had previously been run-down and when I went in (a couple of years ago) I was greeted by chef with greasy hair and dirty finger nails, so turned and walked out! Now it has been completely refurbished with nice new owner (Martin & his wife) who have transformed the interior & exterior to bring it into the 21st Century - now bright, warm & inviting with a good range of beers, ciders & shorts, including a great selection of different Gins!! Sky TV has been installed to watch key sporting action, plus a regular BBQ outside in the beer garden, during the summer. No food served at present but they are starting special themed nights, with some eats. Fresh food (cooked on the premises) is something planned for the future. Great local pub that my girlfriend & I will frequent. Good luck with this venture, Martin & Debbie.

I was looking for some food early in the evening with my wife. It was near the end of the week. The pub looked welcoming enough but I was told the pub dose not ready yet. Any way we decided to stop for a drink, ( average quality ). There were not many people in the pub, the most notibable being three older women sitting at the end of the bar, but trying to sing badly, and making a considerable noise. It reminded me of the cackle of the witches at the start of Macbeth The young man behind the bar was trying his best, to ask them to quieten down, but without success. We did not stop for a second drink, but if this is the average client of the, I would advise ripe advisor clients to steer we clear. We will not be returning.

Now reopened, certainly cleaner and brighter than it was before. The title reflects my thought of whether it is trying to be a pub or a restaurant. Didn't eat here but popped in to see what the re-opened place was like. Nothing really bad but nothing to go wow at either, not sure!

Had lunch at the Kings Head today - It was excellent I had two starters, foie gras and mussels both were excellent. Sat near the kitchen window and watched as delicious made to order meals being collected. Staff very friendly and helpful. The only down side was we were between two tables with badly behaved children, I do not understand how parents can go out and spend a lot of money on excellent food and not keep their children in check, unfortunately it seems to be the norm these days. Would highly recommend this restaurant, I was a guest of friends who live locally and they go regularly and have not had a bad meal yet.

We came here for a drink after being on the nearby beautiful caister beach. Very friendly and reasonably priced. Dog bowls and water available for our pooches. We came to sit indoors as it was extremely hot outside. Was made to feel very welcome with our 2 big doodles. Can't comment about the food as we never ate there but looked at the menu and offered a good variety. Would return if we came back to the area again.

Better than its sister pub in Great Yarmouth but service can be more than variable at times. Only one person serving at the bar is not good enough. Most of the staff are friendly and talkative but a few could do with lessons in customer service and not trying to be sarcastic. Some of the clientele can be obnoxious and aggressive. Ale quality could be better and they could do with more of the darker real ales.
