Large chip portions are large ! Cash only. Curry sauce was slightly thin perhaps compared to Northern chippies. Prices are ok for a touristy town

If there was any competition then this place would probably be shut by now. It’s all acceptable but won’t wow you or blow you away. If you’re passing through, don’t stop. If there’s no other options just cook something for yourself.

You always get entertained here. Shirley is quite a character with a good range of swear words in her vocabulary even if the F word is her favourite by miles. She orders her husband (who does all the cooking) about to the amusement of everyone other than him. She does rush you though even when there are no other customers anywhere in the vicinity so my advice is to know what you want before you enter the shop or be prepared to be chivvied up unceremoniously. Now to the food. The cod was lovely and the chips good and plentiful. I think my sausages had been sat there a while but were eaten and enjoyed anyway as I had no time to cook a meal that evening so tbh would've eaten them whatever they were like. Son had a burger which was ok but when are f&c shop burgers anything more than ok anywhere? Dislike their gravy so won't get that next time.

Not bad if, like us, you had no choice and needed food at short notice. Reasonably tasty fish although a bit small, chips were quite good too. Shame they are cash only -unusual in these unusual times - as I had to chase around the town for a cashpoint.

So if you want quick service this could be the place for you.I ordered a large bag of chips that were served immediately. They were cold. Obviously had been cooked some time ago. So if a fish and chip shop can’t sell good chips, what’s the point!

Fresh fish, and the fluffiest chips make for what is arguably the best fish and chips I've ever had in this country. Shirley, who owns and runs the place is an absolutely lovely woman. She never forgets a face as I saw her catch up with her usual customers. She was super friendly and evidently cares a lot about customer service and keeping her food to the highest standards possible. The place is as clean as a whistle and they switch the frying oil out daily. A must visit for anyone passing by Beaminster and I definitely have not seen the last of the place the next time I am down in Dorset.

Definitely not a Traditional Chippy. To be fair we did arrive an hour before closing time and all they had left was a greasy looking bit of fish 4 tiny battered sausages, a handful of similar sized normal sausages that looked more greasy than the fish and what can only be described as 2 great meatballs the size of tennis balls which look like they may have been burgers mashed up by hand and reshaped before being dipped in the fryer.

The worse fish and chips we ever had in our life!! All went in the bin. Total waste of £38. How does this place stay open. Make way for decent takeaways. What a shame the chip shop van isn’t allowed to trade in Beaminster

when i can afford to, i pop along to this, my local chippy in beaminster.the fish tastes much nicer and fresher than the shops from bridport (where i grew up)i never pre-order, so sometimes i go for a short walk while i wait for my fish n chips to be cooked, or i stay and chat to the lady who runs it. she's very nice, bubbly, friendly etc. never had an issue with asking for additional salt/vinegar in the 5 years i been going there albeit sporadically. tomato sauce n several beverages can be bought. i've only had battered cod, sausage and chips to date from the menu. Its a take-away, so no seating area. sometimes there's been 3-5 customers/orders waiting, but usually i only see one other customer arriving or departing during my time there

There is no excuse for serving such bad food. The locals must be easily pleased, if this place can stay open?Called in here whilst staying on holiday in the area, what a mistake. My tasteless soggy fish and chips ended up going straight into the bin as it was inedible!Incredible that such bad food can be served. The chinese takeaway along the road was much better.

I Had a family evening with cocktails to start, unfortunately they had not a clue how to serve or make these,by a friendly young girl, the food was the worst i have had for a long time, and although i told the elderly lady she seemed to listen but shrug it off with no effect, totally overpriced for what we had ,very small meals, missing the main ingredient FOOD.I hope they can improve and get a barman in to make the cocktails, they need to be shaken, not just pored!!

Stopped for a quick lunch while walking the dog today. I was served by a lovely young chap who was smiley and very helpful. He even offered to carry my tray outside as I had the dog with me. I chose a delicious cranberry and brie toastie. It was served piping hot and was PERFECT! I sat outside in the sunshine looking across the woods. Great value and can totally recommend this special place.

Visited the Fun Factory on a rainy day with my baby. To book in, other children in the waiting area were running into his pram. The gates were hard to open. Upon arrival, we were told, that the only available tables were upstairs and there was no lift! I had to carry the baby and pram up the stairs. Walking through the downstairs department was like trying to run through a jungle. We finally got to our table which was covered in what looked like chewed food and saliva and all over the chairs too. I am aware that soft play areas are noisy but this was more than that. I took the baby down to play in the under 3's section which was a tiny cage. There weren't many activities for him to play with. The baby mirror in there was dirty, the ball pit was over crowded. To get on the slide, it was a climb and with a baby, it proves impossible. Older children were coming in the baby section and scaring him and leaving the gate open which I was furious about. The sensory toys were broken. A 7 year old girl was in there throwing balls at him too and I had a go at her mum and told them to get out. I told a member of staff and they did nothing about it. He also had some lunch there which looked cheap and processed. You could literally see the fat dripping off it. You are apparently allowed to take the babies in the older children's play area but I was straight away put off when i saw the filth on some of the children's socks and the rate they were running around! In order to make this a better place you really need to add a lift, make a better play area for babies, get friendlier and more helpful staff, healthier food, clean the place and maybe even give it a revamp, buy more toys for the baby area and in general make it more appealing. Until Fun Factory up their game, I'm certainly not going back. Unless you want your babies to have a day of being in the worst play area of all time, don't come here!

Was all set to enjoy a coffee in my favourite Costa ( see review Jan 23 ) when I witnessed the best example of managerial skill I have ever seen . I imagine that the customer in question may have underlying social problems . He was unbelievable rude - over a cookie . The abuse that staff were subjected to because they had unfortunately sold out was totally disproportionate. Sir , get a life . Staff , well done for the calm and professional way you handled an extremely unpleasant situation !
