Proper good chippy, great to take away great to eat in. Massive menu excellent food. Fish is always freshly cooked not in a warmer, massive flakes chunks, irish curry(gravy) is spot on.

Went mid afternoon we had the Fish special, which was fish & chips, 2 slices bread, choice of side and a drink. Absolutely delicious, reasonable value and friendly service. I has the Irish Curry sauce side and my friend had the English curry Sauce. Portion size was good, lovely fresh hand cut chips and the fish was perfect with light crispy batter and beautifully flaked fish. 10/10

the staff are freindly, had sausage chips and gravy no flavour to the chips, sausages were nice literally looked like half a ladle of gravy covered about 7 chips for the price of it aswell rip off place wouldn’t recommend

Food quality brilliant staff friendly and helpful,tables clean and condiments full and also clean ( hate when you have that gunky mess at the top of the ketchup bottle). Sadly cannot control the loud customer's but again staff helpful there also.

This place is awesome and their food is scrumptious.

took my young grandson here today, sat in. Firstly I must say the fish and chips I had were lovely. Unfortunately this cannot be said for any of the utensils. Knives and forks not very clean and the ketchup bottle was utterly disgusting. I asked the waitress if she could give me a clean one (which she happily did) and after scanning all the tables she came back with one that was marginally cleaner. They are those refillable bottles with a nozzle at the end and the lid and nozzle were encrusted with dirt. They obviously hadn't been cleaned out in a very long time. I wasn't going to allow my grandson to use it but as he wanted ketchup I had to unscrew the lid and put a knife inside to get at the ketchup as no way was I allowing him to use it with that germ ridden top. This is surely a health and safety issue and these bottles should be cleaned thoroughly and regularly. Another issue that wants sorting out in here is the fact that if you want a napkin with your food (which I expect), you have to go back to the counter and rip off a piece of kitchen roll, not very professional in my opinion. Like I say I could not fault the food but only giving 3 stars because of the hygiene.

Just visited this chippy, absolutely disgusted by the portion sizes, usually go to Mother Hubbards on the precinct but as at Aldi decided to go to Kingfisher instead, portion of chips £2.50 and HALF the portion that Mother Hubbards give you, ridiculous, will not be going again .

I loved this chippy but moved away to Liverpool so when coming back I was looking forward to ordering again. £5 for a cheesy chip and the portion size was just negligible. I did ask for half cheese and half not so please ignore that for they accommodated me there but I’m now in the process of making myself some dinner as the 14 pound paid for the chicken and chips didn’t fill me up at all. This place was fantastic too and the portion sizes were always much better. The meal itself tasted nice and that is the reason for the 3 stars, I’m just hungry now.

Not great. The quality of food its below average, and thats the worst thing about the place. Everything is quite bleak: tomatoes too acidic, mushrooms just average, extra black pudding for £1 its terrible, it barely have any taste, hash browns average, butter on toast doesn't have any taste. On the other and the service its very good, the team behind the till is hard working and welcoming. The atmosphere is ok, very old school British (furniture needs to be replaced as a lot of seats are consumed by the time). PS. The salt for some reason its not salty enough... (Possibly too much anti caking agent..)! The prices above the tills needs to be updated (full breakfast its £4, not £3.50 like its written near the entrance).

I started coming here during lock down, As a HGV driver there were little or no where to get food. They did a wonderful job of staying open while following all the guidelines. Now I try my best to eat in. Fast service (always with a smile) a good old proper English chippy, great potions. and everything thing I’ve tried on the menu is top class. A pleasure, for me the best fish and chips. The fish cooked to perfection, as were the chips. The mushy peas a joy. A meal enjoyed by all. One person had a chip barm, there was no skimping on the chips.

Terrible experience today and bad customer service Ordered food plus a meat pie Lady went to get food another person came in behind orders meat pie chips and Gravy another lady served them and went to get meat pie my lady goes for my meat pie non on counter “ any meat pies in the back she shouts Yes comes a reply- goes in back NO meat pies !!!! Sorry we have no meat pies - that’s my meat pie I said, now being covered in Gravy at this point - sorry we’ve got none now - that’s not fair I say I was here first, would you like another type of Pie - No I reply I wanted a meat pie very unfairly treated WHAT CHIPPY RUNS OUT OF PIES AT 12:00 LUNCH !!!!! Left unhappy have been saying to friends all week that I was staying loyal to Kingfisher after a new chippy has opened on Salford Precinct but as the Staff don’t seem to care about their customers experience it might be time to change !!!

Great chips that are fried fresh in clean oil. Wish the containers were more eco friendly but I ask for my chips in paper which most staff do with a smile.

Well after a crabby week buoy am I happy I found this plaice... what a lovely sofishticated establishment! Great portion sizes, great deals and oh my cod it’s all on my doorstep! This was a little treat for me as I’m on slimming world so won’t be stepping on the scales this week. Kingfisher is my gillty pleasure and the staff went above and beyond nofinn was too much trouble for them. So grateful I took the oportunaty to dive in...all my friends will be herring about it. 10/10 and I’m not even carping around..you simply need to sea it for yourself!

Popped into this place after visiting Salford Shopping centre, either sit in or take away nice fish shop good list of food on offer nicely priced specials, lovely chips and lovely sized cod, gorgeous clean batter, well meaty fish, overall a very nice meal. Only criticism they do a pensioners special but some people can't eat a full serving so a smaller portion would help the smaller appetite and no waste.

Breakfast is always lovely here, and two for a fiver is definitely worth the price. The staff are lovely as well

Go on a Tuesday for the cod and chips, they cook the cod fresh for you so have to tell them when you go in. Lovely, have to say though, have a good appetite because you get plenty,

As a first time customer, I tried the full English breakfast, with a cappuccino. So, the taste and look of the food was very good. My meal was served hot and fresh. Very happy. The coffee was a little bit disappointing. Although served hot, and looked good. There was no real strength or taste to it. The price of the meal was very good. The customer service was very good. All the staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The cleanliness of the cafe looked to be very good, both in the cooking area and the seating area. 5 star hygiene rating. The decor of the cafe was nice. Authentic fishing theme to it. Some of the chair cushions need replacing. Plenty of seating inside and out. Plenty of free parking very near to the cafe. I am happy to recommend the Kingfisher and I will be coming back to try the fish and chips soon.

The kingfisher is a hidden gem it's a cafe / chippy it's really good i was there the other day poped in for a bite to eat it has all THE food a chippy would have and a seating section inside and outside .They have some set meals like the one I got meat & potato pie mushy peas and chips and curry sauce .my friend got chips mushy peas pie and gravy and it came with bread & butter and your choice of a drink tea, coffee, ECT I got a lovely foamy latte. The food is good the prices decent, AND the portions are a nice size so for all those who are visiting salford shopping centre LOCATED in salford manchester England and you want some good old fish & chips, or any of there WONDERFUL food and wish to try the whole chippy experience, then I would go to this charming little gem just walk through the shopping centre to the back were the market is turn right and it's a couple of shops down on the right .

If you want a good service and great fish and chips, this is the place to go, nice staff, clean eating area and when the weather is fine you can eat outside, special offers on a Tuesday, its like being back at the seaside with the taste of proper cooked fish and loads of chips.

Been on Salford precinct for years. It's seen the market disappear (hang you heads in shame Salford council). It's seen other food outlets come and go. It's seen Salford change from gritty working class city to potential new hipster destination. Through it all Kingfisher has thrived. Why? Cracking chippy food, sold at a very reasonable price by people who care. They say Salford has no centre, yes it does, Kingfisher. Highly recommended.

Nice place to meet and good value for money

Always a low risk choice for food. Everything I've ever bought has been cooked perfectly, the prices are low to reasonable and all the staff are absolutely lovely! Highly recommended.

The portions aren't great however the food is tasty and hot. A lot of the food is made to order so while it's always hot, you could be waiting a while for it to be ready. Prices are a little high compared to other chip shops but with inside and outside seating, it's still a good option. They have a range of usual "chip shop" favourites from battered sausage, scampi, curry sauce (Chinese & english), fish cake etc.. so there is something for everyone. The location is good if your a Salford resident or just visiting locally. They are opposite the Salford shopping centre market and attached directly to the Salford shopping centre. So perfect if your already shopping there. Overall I would return if I'm looking for a quick lunch.

Excellent value for money! Simple menu. Breakfast served all day. Staff very pleasant polite and helpful. Always clean and tidy. Food is lovely! Loss of star as there are no toilets on premises. Had to ask and go behind counter to wash hands before eating.

In Salford today, was hungry and fancied some chips. Remembered there used to be a chippy on the market. Although the market is long gone (thanks for nothing Salford council, an ubiquitous Aldi has replaced the stalls) I was delighted to see the chippy has survived. Freshly cooked food, generous portions, friendly service and chatty locals. The council is the worst of Salford, however the little businesses that are still around (and the people who work so hard in them) are the best. Kingfisher is definitely recommended.

Popped in here for a treat for dinner. Ordered chip barms all round. The quality of the chips are amazing and you get a huge amount of chips for the very inexpensive price. The barm cake was soft and moist and very large. Seating area inside and outside. Lovely polite staff and clean environment. I will definitely recommend a visit here and i will be going again on my next treat day.

Food is always always fresh and to a excellent standard, the chips are always fresh and the chips and gravy is unbeatable. The fish is some of the freshest fish ive ever tried and it's cooked right infront of you. Food is never left to sit and rot, they're too busy for the food to go stale, clearly a sign of a great place. Breakfast menu is also superb and great value for money.

Everything about our visit to kingfisher was excellent, from the quality of the food, the clean comfortable environment to the friendly staff. Highly recommend and will definatly be visiting again. Adele

They have an extensive menu to choose from, including all of your favourites from sausages, pies and of course fantastic fish, and even a Full English Breakfast which is served all day too. The restaurant is very clean and the décor is pleasant and there is a very nice seating area inside, and seats are also available outside when the weather is good and you fancy people watching while enjoying your lunch. The staff are very efficient and friendly and even though they are usually very busy, they do know and understand the meaning of ‘customer service’. I came to the kingfisher as it had been recommended to me by a friend who works close by.. Boy she wasn't wrong!!! I had fish special which was cod , chips and peas , any drink and bread and butter all for £6.75.. The cod was massive and cooked to order , chips really fresh and tasty mushy peas .. I got service with a smile as all the staff were really friendly and seemed to know a lot of the customers on a first name basis which I love that level of personal service . I also like all the information on the food which was on black boards around the shop, even telling you which farm the potatoes were from, how they prepared the potatoes , where the cod was from ect There were lovely old photos of old Salford around the shop which were really fitting , this shop has stayed true to its area and offers a great product and service !! Visited last Wednesday with my dad, son and friend. We all ordered different and all ate every bit!. Was gorgeous food, great service and great price. The place is very clean with seating inside and out! Would recommend here to anyone. Go visit and enjoy!
