King George V in Walsall

New owners, prices has gone up and quality gone down. The chips came 20 minutes before the mixed grill??? The mixed grill was barely edible, burnt, dry and overcooked. Get the old chef back and improve with your timing, chips are a side not a starter.

Visited recently. There has been a change of management here recently. On entering venue is very noisy with loud music played not only in bar but also restaurant area which is a shame. Appreciate was a weekend however why anyone would want to sit and eat a meal whilst R&B and garage music played at a level when you can't hear one another even when shouting is beyond me. Didn't order food as a result. Bar staff appeared to be new and struggled with till and card machine but where pleasent and approachable when ordering drinks.

Went here quite late pub was empty but it was a Sunday they took time to do me a chicken Tikka wrap about 20 mins wait but boy was the wait worth it ..they looked after me and packed it with meat and even threw some free chips on the side the flavours were lovely food was hot so thank you only thing I will say is they put cheese on it believe it was paneer but I'm not really a fan of cheese so would of been nice if they asked first but anyhow was lovely glad I went

Me and my partner called in here on a Saturday night and ate the most beautiful Indian cuisine. It was cooked to perfection and to our taste. We didn't want it too hot and had no problems whatsoever, as the chef listened to our concerns and made it beautiful. I'd never had the bread before called paratha and was pleasantly surprised. Highly recommended.

Came in with family, great place for curries. The meal felt authentic, spicy, but not overly spicy, and a great range of food was available. The menu was simple and easy, I didn't have to think about the different choices. Was nearly an hour after the bar officially opened, we didn't know if it was open or not until we actually opened the door, kinda reminded me of a sort of nightclub. I'm not sure if the tables were clean or as clean as they could have been. Napkins were sticking to the table and hard to pick up. Patches of the table felt a little sticky, too. ============== The Place: 9/10 🌟 Looked well maintained, the bar was looked after, and it seems welcoming as long as you get through the door first. ============== The Food: 10/10 🌟 Amazing! I would happily eat here again. We were stuffed 😋 =================== The Atmosphere: 5/10 🌟 Felt this could have been better, though it was an hour after the bar opened. Not many people in even while it was the afternoon. =================== The Cleanliness: 5/10 🌟 Tables were a little sticky in places, napkins were stuck to the table and hard to pick up cause of it. ====================== Ordering food/drink: 6/10 🌟 Little weird to me that I have to order food from a separate till away from the bar. ================ Place to bring kids? I'm not sure if I would. It seems more like a place where I would bring my mates for drinks and food. You can bring your kids if you want, but keep them towards the restaurant area and not close to the bar.

I recently dined at King George Restaurant in Birmingham and had an exceptional experience! The food was absolutely delicious, with a diverse menu that caters to all tastes. Every dish we tried was well-prepared and bursting with flavor. The service was equally impressive – the staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcome. So a more than average Joe's little bar. It's good for where it is placed. The food is of good standard. Fresh and hot. Value for money. Service seemed happy bar the owner. Seemed a little can't be arsed with life today. The atmosphere was superb. Really worked the space well. Great temp. Music on point and yes the surroundings were clean. Keep it up guys.

Ordered food, took 40mins on top of delivery time, noo taste at all! No flavour in any of the food!!!! I wouldnt recommend anyone to eat here again! Used to be good but cleary chefs keep changing.

Unfortunately the food was not the same as it was before. The noodles were quite dry and bland less salt or less flavour. The chicken Jalfrezi Naga style I got was thick with tomato sauce and had bits of ginger running to the sauce which gave it an unpleasant taste as it fell in every bite. They used to do Chicken thigh pieces before and now it’s breast. Lacking flavour

Lovely food and lively atmosphere

The food was good and the service was nice at the restaurant end. Drinks side be carefull, the guy can overcharged if he thinks he can get away with it. Do ask for a receipt as the guy at the pub can overcharge you . Restaurant service was good and reasonable.

Visited on Thursday, with my friend, an early dinner around 6pm, greeted at the bar by a nice man, ordered 2 pints, a Madri and Guinness, went through to restaurant, was quite met by a very polite young lady and a chef who stood by listening to my order, within 15 odd minutes heaven arrived! A brilliant service and fantastic tasty food, chef popped over asked if all was well which it was. After food went back to thank chef and waitress. Definate 10 out of 10 on this occasion.

UPDATE Went here again lastnight for my birthday, new chef, i can honestly say its the best food we have had there, food was really tasty and fresh, Go here quite alot. Staff are lovely and welcome you with smiles too. Always have the monster mix grill to share with hubby and every time we have it, we always enjoy it. Food is gorgeous and can't ask for the wrong drink as they are well stocked! Kids are welcome too. So glad we live 5 minutes walk away.

Yesterday I ordered and paid for a King sizzler and 2x WHOLE 1KG lamb on bone karahi (i.e. 2KG in total). I got a phone call off the restaurant that they did not have the whole lamb on bone, but they had the boneless variant which was in total £10 more expensive. I paid an additional £10 which made the total sum £70! The food arrived somewhat late (30 min), which was not really a problem. The KING sizzler was wrapped in tin foil, not really a problem, but for the price you'd expect it to be on a platter. It was enough for 1-2 people. I thought it was much more for the price. The boneless lamb came in 5 small containers. Each container had about 8 small cut pieces of lamb and a whole lot of the sauce/curry. No way that adds up to 2KG of lamb that was paid for. It tasted heavenly delicious, but absolutely disappointed with what we were solving terms of quantity. £70 is waaaayyy too much for this. I hope the restaurant will contact me to compensate.

Food over cooked and hard. Bones left in curry. The dip pots had hardly any sauce in them. I was told the chef was out on delivery so god knows who cooked it.

Reasonable priced drinks,nice food but a bit overpriced

This is fantastic, recently refurbished, really nicely done inside and out…and the food is fabulous, great chef’s. We had the kilo of Lamb Kharahi with Nan for 20 quid, it was delicious melt in the mouth and perfectly spiced. Highly recommend will definitely be going again.

Just called in and ordered king prawn curry and keema mattar with garlic nan and egg fried rice , I can honestly say this is this best food I have ever tasted . It was so good I didnt want it to finish . Over the years I have visited many restaurants and take aways and nothing beats this . Thank you and see you soon .

Everything was good until the night was spoilt by the bar staff. One of the young ladies behind the bar looked at me so I asked for a round of drinks. She carried on looking at me and waited until I said all if my order and then said "what makes you think i was taking your order?". I mean, you are looking at me, you're behind the bar, what the hell do you think I want?? She then went over to someone else and within seconds came back to take my order. What the hell was that all about? Very rude and disrespectful staff. Don't think I will be going back. Shame really.

Live 50yds from here and have visited for the first time tonight, and can say I was very pleasantly surprised. Prices are average for an Indian grill pub/restaurant. Portion sizes were good, but the seller for us was that everything was cooked fresh and arrived piping hot. The onion fried rice was to die for, so were the chilli chips. My hubby rates places on their Keema Mutter and he said it was up there with best he's had. Looking forward to a Saturday afternoon sesh in the garden when we next have a sunny day.

I've tried alot of mixed grill desi pubs and alot of ones with bigger reputation and hype. This is 1of the best and certainly worth a visit. I came here with some friends from Leamington and enjoyed excellent customer service and very good food. Had my favourite dish on the menu which is difficult to get right but I was blown away with how well it was prepared and tasted, it was amazing. I will definitely be coming back and recommending it.

Been to George v a few times has daughter moved to area. This was my first delivery. It was superb has ever. Everything was hot and the size of portions is very good. Will pop to pub next time I'm in area. First class service

Didn't realise this restaurant come sport bar was on our doorstep! Lovely food and priced very well, ambience is more for the younger generation but they do takeaway too, recommend it.

Prices have gone up since the renovations during covid-19. They serve food at decent prices but haven't tried any yet so can't comment. They have a pool table which isn't the best (has ripped felt) yet now costs £1 rather than the previous 50p. They have an outdoors area where smoking is allowed. Parking is on the street. It's very modern looking and spacious. Plenty of TVs and they always show the daily football games.

The starters and grill were lovely but the chicken curry had no taste didn't taste like an Indian curry at all, full of grease, the sea bass curry was the same too greasey.

Food arrived early, bit surprised how early, food was only warm and could tell it was not cooked from fresh by the heat of the food, and by how quick it was delivered, even though stating food delivered between 80-90 minutes! Ordered the king grill was Very greasy, with onions on the bottom of the foil, with the meat on top, then wrapped up in extra foil didn’t look appetising upon opening, was hungry at the time ate majority with wife but thrown a lot away, one good thing masala chips were nice! Would not order again.

Food was absolutley gorgeous especially the korma highly recommend.

Early delivery but order wasn’t great - ordered chicken saag it came as a plain curry despite paying extra - mushroom fried rice is just boiled rice with a few undercooked mushrooms - very small portion of chips and chicken pakora wasn’t great either - very bland - too expensive to get the order wrong so won’t be ordering again

Sorry but not impressed at all, it's the very first time I have ordered from a restaurant and they don't give u salad and yoghurt mint and popadom with your main dish, food was very bland, keema naan bread was gritty, chicken had gristle in it, the only saving grace was the chips, I won't be ordering from here again. Waste of £35

Visited with current restrictions (only beer garden available). Food is great, everything is decently priced (pint Carling £2.90). Smallish beer garden but nice atmosphere nevertheless.

So yesterday was not the restaurants fault but the driver. Restaurant service today was fantastic and will be getting a refund. Have eaten in on many occasions and ordered out and the food is delicious. Delivery was early and kept up to date properly.

Placed an order the order that never turned up been waiting over an hour. Spoke to someone on chat said it had been delivered at 21.55 however have a screenshot at 22.19 saying still out for delivery. Been sat waiting for 2 hours. Still never turned up but took the money out my account. Load of rubbish! And can't get hold of the restaurant!

Food was delicious as always however arrived late. Ordered at 5:10pm arrived 7:35pm. When I called they did say they were busy which is why they had a delay but the food is sooo nice and was worth the wait!!

Decent delivery time but the curry was very sickly I ordered sicken saag and it tasted like Parmesan no Spinach in there . They did give me extra rice .

Ordered food for 20:00 at 17:45 and still wasnt on time complete joke and when called thay said drive on his way several times . Not happy with this service one bit.

Massive place and a good few different rooms. Nice big garden. Way better inside and in the garden than it looks from the front. Bar staff are good and enough of them so don't have to wait around. Just that theres only space for about 10 cars so always a out off.
