KIN Erdington in Birmingham

Used to be really good, quality food. Ever since the chef moved to the branch in Tamworth, the food has gone very quickly downhill. Not the worst food ever and still good for the price, but I would no longer recommend via word of mouth.

Ordered to deliver never delivered

My 2nd visit on a Friday was mostly excellent, though food is served with paper plates, cardboard bowls & wooden curtlery, if you accidentally hit the light weight plates they could go flying on the table, rest room i found its at the back of kitchen, i prefer my dishes with curry or salad, good prices, theres 5% surcharge advised on your order, shop can get busy with food couriers, My 1s visit on a Saturday was great, its friendly staff & fast service, Orders can be taken at the table, but payment is required in advance with your order at the till, I skipped Starters, as all or most fried menu is from common oil used for various meats, My Green curry based on aubergene & option for veg or other meat, was served well cooked, tasty & very spicy, Choice of soft drinks only, pick yourself from front fridge, we tried small bottle of coconut drink with large soft bits, its a lovely drink, On my return i will try beef salad, served very spicy with red chillies, Optional boiled or fried rice, is available.

Big disappointment. Portions were good and food was well packaged + prawn crackers were good, but unfortunately that's about it. Chicken didn't taste fresh at all and went in the bin. Pad thay was way too sweet and rice came out of the container all stuck together like a brick, definitely cooked hours before (at least...)👎

I always order takeout and I'm never disappointed. Food tastes absolutely delicious. I have nothing negative to say, the delivery time is also pretty decent.

Easily the best food in Erdington. Superb quality, really tasty and hot. I really appreciate the reduced plastic packaging too.

Not authentic thai food. Overpriced for what you get. The food only has one flavour- very sweet, especially the curries. Wouldn’t recommend.

I usually am a great fan of Kin but felt very disapointed tonight with my Crispy Shredded beef dish. When I opened it, it had next to no Cantonese sauce on it and most of the beef was completely bare of sauce. Will definitely reconsider using this establishment again.

We called and ordered vegan food and got food with egg in it. Called and asked them to replace and they only brought half the order. Had to call them again. Ordered door at 6:30 and didn’t have anything to eat till 9:30pm.

Ordered a take out for two on line, collection available at desired time. We had crackers and fish cakes to share, the 4 fish cakes were pretty taste less so we were looking forward to our mains of beef Penang and green curry. As soon as we removed the lid off the curry you smell something was off. I immediately called the number to advise them of my concern that we thought either the bean sprouts or the vegetable were on the turn. The lady I spoke to was dismissive, stating that she’d spoke to the chef and they were not prepared correct or replace the dish. Shocking customer service and poor quality food, one to avoid !!’

Absolutely incredible food. Brilliant menu and every dish we've ordered from Kin has been exceptional.

Great food. Reasonably priced. Lovely people running it. FYI mains are halal - starters are not as they use the same oil for other starters.

Usually quiet inside when I go. But lots of take aways. Best ribs in Birmingham in my opinion but I prefer then with out a sauce on top off them. Good variety of Asian food. Done quite well too. I enjoy the drinks there too. (Non alcoholic)

Amazing! Great prices, quick service and brilliant staff. Food was lovely. Rivals the very best of Birmingham (I'd argue even better than Siamais) ! Highly recommend.

We’ve visited here quite a few times now. Each time the food has been hot fresh and full of flavour. The salt and chilli ribs are amazing! We’ve tried to order something new each visit and we’ve not been disappointed. The staff have always been very friendly too. Couldn’t think of a better photo to show the appreciation of the food!

Cannot fault KIN in any way, shape or form. It is evident that the chef takes 100% pride in their work. Most delicious food I have eaten in a long, long time 💯

Took 1:30 to deliver only live a mile away. Food was cold and dry. Not a big fan but will give them the benefit of doubt.

Could not recommend this place enough! The food is amazing, very tasty and well cooked. By far the best Thai food I’ve had locally and it’s definitely my new favourite spot. The service as fast and the lady at the counter was very friendly. Customer service on point. Thank you 😊

Excellent tasty authentic Thai food - definitely worth a try.

Lovely Thai in Erdington! The portion size was excellent, the food was tasty. We especially loved the Korean fried chicken with garlic soy but everything was so good trust me. So happy we have Thai in Erdington, finally something decent!

This place is absolutely fantastic! Haven’t had take-away as we live in walking distance, but the eat in food is amazing. We’ve been a number of times now and it’s always excellent. This time I had bulgogi beef with noodles and my wife had tofu green curry with jasmine rice, both were delicious. The crispy spare ribs and Korean fried chicken wings are on another level. I highly recommend the food here.

Warm and welcoming environment beautiful art on the walls and pleasant staff amazing menu choice and fast service, during quieter evenings I personally enjoy the bakery items and Thai milk tea. While I haven’t tried much of the menu I plan to in the future 🥰

I frequently get take out dinners from Kin and I have not been disappointed once! (I have yet to dine at the restaurant however, so no atmosphere rating) Delivery times are always communicated in advance and food is delivered when expected or sometimes earlier. Food is always delicious and good portions. My favourite items to order are the Pad Thai with chicken and the Korean fried chicken with soy garlic sauce!

Moderate beyond belief! Have used several times as there’s not a lot of choice in local area if you like Thai food and it’s been ok (6/10) on average. But after latest experience doubt I’ll be returning, ordered 3 mains and meat very tough/chewy in both chicken dishes and quality of beef was rather poor also. Flavour, taste and consistency of green curry sauce was not enjoyable and contained some strange ingredients. So disappointing!

Fresh food which tastes delicious. Never fails to disappoint. Will continue ordering from here. Usually order chicken/prawn pad kee mao, chicken paang curry and rice. Portion sizes are good

I made an order i was told it would arrive for 8:30, at 8:03 it was on its way. I called at 8:40 as nothing had arrived they said it was dispatched 7 mins ago... not sure why the message was sent at 8:03. At 8:49... still no food but the tracking had said complete. Food took over an hour to arrive. Im very local to the shop. Clearly fobbing me off. My food arrived cold No apology Delivery is charged.

Excellent. The quality of the food, ingredients and the presentation are all perfect. Such quality in Erdington/ Wylde green is most welcome.

We've ordered delivery from KIN erdington maybe 10 or so times over the past 6 months and I cannot praise them enough. Every single time the food has been consistently brilliant, delivered hot and in great time. The delivery drivers are always polite and friendly and arrive in good time. Their pad Thai is unrivalled in Birmingham. It's a dish I'll order whenever it's available in a restaurant and it honestly blows the competition out of the water. The seasoned fries are also incredible. There's real value for money in their menu and we have never been disappointed when ordering from KIN. It's difficult to ever order any other takeaway/food for delivery because it never satisfies like KIN does.

The value for money is absolutely awful and the portion sizes definitely has changed since the branch has opened. Both of the below are around £7 mark. Not worth it. Judging my the latest reviews I am not the only one who is disappointed. Most likely will not use again.

Had a brilliant takeaway from here on New Year's Eve. It took slightly longer than its time slot but the restaurant called to say it was late and leaving soon which I thought was great service. The food arrived hot and delicious! Seriously the best Penang curry I've had maybe ever, big juicy prawns, an addictive sauce... I could order another right now! We got seasoned chips too which were some of the crispiest chips I've eaten. Only cost £24 for two people Inc delivery. We've found a new favourite takeaway!

Had a takeaway from here today and it was so delicious my family really enjoyed it and staff were sweet!

Sat in for a quick lunch and had a great meal. Cosy atmosphere and the food was actually spicy! Haven't tried takeaway yet but I would definitely recommend going in if you are in the area.

Went there for the first time excellent service and the food nice and fresh and hot.

Food tasted nice in generał however portions size not adequate to the price. Four small prawn toasts for over £6 is a joke. And it says its a portion for two people! Customer service on very low. When I phoned the restaurant they acted like they don’t care about customers at all. Experience with delivery was outrageous. Delivery driver left the food outside the door on the floor, not bothered to contact me and it was raining aswell! Definetely won’t order from this płace again!

I’ve eaten both in the restaurant and had takeaway from here. The food is always amazing! My kids and I love it! When eating in the restaurant you can see that it’s a lovely family run business and everyone is so welcoming and lovely. There’s also a lovely selection of baked goods which are so nice. Great for taking home and reheating for breakfast or an afternoon snack! 100% recommend!

1st home delivery. Wow! Food first class! Really authentic dishes, we've eaten at a lot of really good restaurants, kin compares well. Our delivery was accurate and right on time. Looking forward to the next one very much. Nice to see cardboard boxes.

First time ordering food from here, We ordered a number of items and enjoyed the food. Favorites were the chicken wings and PAD SEE EEW.

Staff were warm and welcoming. Food tasted authentic, fresh and tasty. Found our go to place for pad thai and thai curry. Will be back soon. Highly recommend.

BEST Thai green curry ever tasted the flavours was amazing😍 really fresh and I was so happy to spend money on good food! They will definitely be seeing me more often. Only negative is that it took over 1 hour and a half to come but it was worth it because the food was piping hot

We had a take away on Saturday night from KIN and it was AMAZING - the food was absolutely gorgeous and so much nicer than usual takeaway food. There were 6 of us and we all loved it and we will DEFINITELY be ordering again soon. Delivery time was prompt and organised too. Thanks so much.

One of the tastiest Thai food and Thai tea in this area, at great prices. Although service could be better for dine customers, it’s definitely next-to-visiting Thailand quality and standards of food. Definitely a must for Thai food lovers! Authentic taste of Thailand and some other good pan-Asian dishes on menu such as Korean fried chicken and other items.

Got this off user eats, didn't know what to expect but it was so nice! We had the pad Thai, bulgogi beef, Thai starter and korean fried chicken (soy garlic flavour, and I'll admit, the flavour options in that section is what drove me to actually order, far too many places say they do korean fried chicken but its just normal chicken with a slightly spicy bbq sauce, but the second insaw they had sweet and spicy and the soy garlic I was sold, I went with the soy garlic because it became my favourite after a holiday in Seoul a few years back so was super happy to see real korean fried chicken.) The prawn toast in the starter selection is the best prawn toast I've ever had. Like everything was nice, the fish cake also stood out, but that prawn toast was so good. But yeah, everything was amazing and I am excited to order again and try some more dishes! Loved my Thai milk tea too, the bottle is super cute.

Best take away in Erdington. I've tried many Asian restaurants across Birmingham & London, I'd choose this over 90% of others I've had before.

Really fantastic food. I originally ordered on JustEat from their other restaurant in Great Barr. The manager there was good enough to call me back and let me know there was a closer restaurant in order to for me to save money on delivery which was really appreciated. The food arrived early with a handwritten note apologising for the food being late as they were busy. I hope they stay busy. Will be ordering again!

Everything (especially the meats and egg ) had the same really rubbery texture to it which made it a slog to try to eat. Decent flavours in the Korean fried chicken (and slightly less rubbery because of the crisp of the batter) but lack of flavour in the pork fried rice other than the taste of slightly burned rice. The overcooked peas that turned to absolute mush on first bite also didn't have us enthralled. First time I've had a pad thai that I really didn't like. Along with the chewy crisp of undercooked noodles, there was no heat at all which may just be trying to tailor to more western pallets but was disappointing. Won't comment too much on the roti as it was our first time trying them so can't tell if that's just standard to the dish. Delivery was fine and on time enough.

I have now tried takeout delivery, eating in and takeout collection. Service in all experiences has been superb and when added to the delicious food that has coming back for more it's great. Really good to see such delicious food done so well. The inhouse drinks made fresh to order are delicious and everything is presented so well you can tell they take pride in what they do.

Food was an hour late but they did call and tell me; it’s a Saturday night and ordered at peak time. When it however arrived the food hot and tasted incredible! Will maybe order to collect next time but cannot fault the food.

Just taken my first order, thought I'll give KIN ago, wow! I wasn't disappointed, I had seabass in sweet and sour sauce it was well presented and delicious I'll definitely be ordering again very soon. The gentleman that delivered the order was very friendly and pleasant. Thanks for coming to Erdington this is what it needs.

Food was great. We ordered at 6.55pm, and our take away was delivered at 9pm. Assuming it was a busy night, but caused a few issues with hungry guests. Will use again as I’m sure this was teething troubles on a busy Saturday night.

So glad there's finally a Thai place near by, and KIN did not disappoint. We got the KIN for one bowls, and the portion size was perfect. The quality of the food was really good, pleasantly spicy and incredibly fresh. We also got dessert, the sweet bao are incredible, and we also enjoyed the bolo bun. We would happily order from here again, the quality was worth the price and we enjoyed it very much.

Possibly the worst takeaway experience I have had in recent memory. Ordered food at 6:20pm this evening, and was delivered around 7pm. When we checked the order it was clear that items were missing, and the receipt with the food had a different name on. Went out to the driver and explained and he confirmed that the wrong order had been delivered. He contacted the restaurant to advise, and said that he would take the food back and re-deliver our order. At around 8pm we had still not received our food, or had any communication from the restaurant. We called the restaurant, service was dreadful again, staff had no idea what was happening. Asked for a refund, and was advised it would be some time next week? Staff seem like they had no training, and did not care! Now I am writing this review at 8:25pm, hungry, and £54 out of pocket. Wouldn't order from here again if it was free, will be telling all my friends and family to stay away too. Will most likely have to do a chargeback through my bank, as I doubt they can organise a refund if they can't even get an order right.

Place looks lovely and I was so happy to have a place sell korean/thai food as I am accustomed to a chinese takeaway as I grew up in one, and its great to have something different. I am told the ordering on the phone was difficult as it seemed maybe the girl was new? I tried to order online too but it kept kicking me out so gave up. My fave thai dish is the massaman curry and i love korean fried chicken! So this is what I ordered together with the pad thai, crispy tofu and korean bulgogi. Crispy tofu and the fried chicken in the soy garlic were delicious, the massaman curry flavour was good but they use sliced beef instead of stewing beef, not what im used to but was ok, potatoes were abit too al dente. The hot and spicy fried chicken was not cooked with gochujang so I was a-bit disappointed, tasted a bit like cantonese chicken with a kick but nice that they use thigh meat. If they just added the gochujang, this would have have been 10:10! The bulgogi was not bulgogi, tasted like beef with green peppers. Pad thai lacked depth but was edible. The food was good overall but not actually thai or korean. Kind of expensive for basically a Chinese takeway, but not knocking Chinese takeways as we love them! No freebies unlike the Chinese’s, spent £55 so thought I might get some crackers. This is just my honest opinion and may be the case as I have been spoilt by authentic thai and korean food and am all too familiar with Chinese food and cooking!

Fantastic new local restaurant , serving freshly cooked thai food. We had the chicken green curry, king prawn red curry, pad kra pao pork and pad thai. All dishes were wonderful and just like those we’ve had in Thailand, the spice levels were on point! Would definitely recommend all dishes again. Plenty of parking outside for pick up, the cafe looked very nice with space for about 12. They even had mogu mogu!!

Finally, Erdington has an authentic, quality Thai food cafe/kitchen! We had a tasty meal from KIN for a Saturday night treat for a family of 4, we love Thai food but there wasn’t any we were aware of locally, until KIN opened. we will definitely be returning customers as the whole family enjoyed the meal, my Daughter who is quite a fussy eater enjoyed the Crispy Chicken and Pad Thai noodle dish, also the packaging was eco-friendly and recyclable so extra praise for that too!

Amazing food & a huge quality in your meals. the bowls for take-away are massive and ever dish is given a zing . the staff are incredible & Cannot be faulted. Worth the meal/take-away, and at the end you are full but not bloated!

Wow what a lovely gem of a restaurant with freshly cooked food bursting with flavour. I had the calamari starter which was really light and fluffy and the chopped salad worked as a great combo. My main was the pepper and garlic beef and when I asked for some fresh green chillies with it, they were happy to accommodate. So it goes without saying that service was really friendly. Food served in environmentally friendly serving plates. I'm going there again very soon. Erdington needs a place like this. It's as good as Rosa's Thai in the City Centre at better value. In fact they currently have an extra 10% opening offer. so why not try it?
