This was a fantastic experience, the view from the boat was beautiful, especially of a night time with all the lights and view of the water. The afternoon tea was a lovely touch to this experience. I highly recommend one or more nights.

I had an incredible experience at The Cube – everything about it exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the striking architecture and modern design. It's a truly unique space that offers a blend of style, comfort, and atmosphere. The room was immaculate, beautifully designed, and offered amazing views. It had a high-end, luxury feel while still being warm and welcoming. Every detail felt carefully considered, and it made for a really relaxing and enjoyable stay. The service was outstanding – professional, friendly, and always available to help. Whether it was at reception or during dining, the staff made me feel well looked after from start to finish. And the location is perfect – right in the heart of the city, with easy access to top restaurants, shops, and cultural spots. It’s the ideal base for exploring the area or simply enjoying the vibrant atmosphere around The Cube itself. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Cube to anyone looking for a stylish, comfortable, and memorable experience. Five stars all the way!

Deeply Disappointed! We had a highly disappointing experience at The Cube Hotel. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this was not going to live up to its advertised standards. The reception staff were completely unresponsive — calls went unanswered repeatedly, making it impossible to get any assistance when needed. The room was another letdown. The air conditioning was broken, and with no windows to open for fresh air, the space quickly became uncomfortable and stifling. For the high price paid, we expected at least the basics to function properly. This hotel does not even come close to a 4-star standard. In fact, we’ve stayed in far better hotels across Africa that offered outstanding service and comfort at a fraction of the price. Overall, The Cube Hotel was a complete disaster. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Booked a Superior deluxe, costing £178 for one night. Never been so disappointed ever. Air con doesn't work in room, they provide a stand fan which is okay but not sufficient to cool the room. Carpets are dated, bathroom for price isn't up to standard. Stayed in Premier inn for half price and double the standard. Room was half the size I expected. Balcony wasn't private at all. The restaurant guests have a good view if you so didn't relax. Booking suggested complementary drinks and snacks. There was 1 mini kit kat and 4 bottles of water. Also the noise from restaurant was incredibly loud, no one would be able to sleep with noise.

STAY AWAY! -STAFF VERY UNHELPFUL! Just arrived into my room just like many of the other reviews the air conditioning is not working. Can't open any of the windows. 2 fans waiting for me in the room, this helps but is just recycling the air around. I did see complaints about the air conditioning before my booking some dated back from months ago so assumed this would be historic problem no, it's still going on. The room itself is okay but for a four-star disappointed. Tired and run down. For the price look elsewhere! Update: Stayed on the Tuesday it's now the Saturday and still waiting for my £50 deposit back! They don't pick up there phones. It's now Wednesday the following week and I'm still waiting.

I had the liver parfait on sourdough bread to start with a wild berry and fig jam which was lovely , my partner had the roasted vine tomato soup which she really enjoyed , for mains I had the steak cooked blue which was gorgeous and melted in the mouth with fries and side salad and a bowl of pepper sauce, my partner has the chicken escalope which was very nice but a bit overcooked. Overall would rate it a 8.5/10 the main room looked a bit tired and the service area needed a bit of refurbishment. Would recommend a visit for an enjoyable meal for two.

Me and my partner stayed here not too long ago. Nice, clean and spacious rooms. We had a lovely view. You feel very high class walking through the corridor! The only downside is… my partner paid a £50 deposit on the 22nd Feb. The Cube took £26.50 out my partners bank, refunded the £26.50 just to take it back out again. The Cube now owes my partner £76.50!!! We have contacted the hotel and they have been absolutely useless! Saying there’s £45 refund to give (which we still haven’t got)!! But my partner shown the transaction of where the Cube has taken money and we’re yet to hear a reply!!! ROBBING THIEVES!! Will not be staying here again!!!!!!

Review about The Cube automated car park *In theory* the automated car park is fantastic. Swipe the security fob, drive into an available parking “box”, walk out, and the car is taken away underground. Upon return, swipe the fob, the car *almost* magically reappears and one drives out. The issue is, this is not always the case. This is where expectation does not meet reality. This is the *fourth* time in less than 3 months I have not been able to retrieve my car, leaving me stranded or delayed. On this occasion (2924-09-21) it is the *second* time in 4 days so have not been able to retrieve my car. On one occasion, a member of the security team claimed something was stuck under my car - this is the aero undertray and it is well above the 100mm clearance requirement. I’d appreciate a long term solution as I pay a lot of hard earned money for the privilege of being stuck. Update 9 Dec 2024 - car is stuck in the car park yet again, leaving me stranded, unable to collect my son from nursery! Can someone please reach out with contact details - email + telephone number?

This hotel looks so lovely at first glance, however upon arrival we were greeted with a second charge of £50 which will not be returned to my card for 14 working days, this was followed by a group of security guards gathered by the lifts when we came back from our meal, instead of feeling safe i was made to feel very uneasy. After staying in one of the rooms the beds are extremely uncomfortable, and the pillars are far worse, mine was round with lumps sticking our all over it, the inner lining was showing which ad seen far better days, i had a second pillow which wasn't much better, just very hard, the walls are very thin so all you hear all night is banging doors and people up and down the corridor, this was followed by next door continually turning the lights on and off so you could here the clicking of the switch. I ended up with very little sleep and very disappointed. The best thing about this hotel is the view.

Classes itself as a 'Luxury four star boutique hotel'. It isn't. It's a nice hotel, nothing more. My room was ok, lots of marks around the room / hole in the wall badly filled in / iron mark burnt into the carpet / mould in the shower / badly filled in sealant in the bathroom / cracked tiles in the bathroom / chips in woodwork / marks on walls all around the room / handprints on one mirror (which was there all my stay - five nights) / found an old face cloth underneath the vanity unit in the bathroom (this was covered in dust and makeup - the dust proved this had been there a while) / air con system all over the place - one minute hot - the next cold. Housekeeping failed to check my room one day, not sure what happened. Lift had hand rail missing all my stay, looked ugly on entry. Signage for lifts had numbers missing. Corridor carpets are disgusting. I have no idea when they were last cleaned. Covered in marks / dirt. Reception seems to be a meeting place. One evening, it was full of youths, felt quite intimidating. Reception was covered in rubbish one morning, sweet wrappers everywhere. I did find it odd that when passing through reception on a number of times, it was never manned. Always waiting for someone to appear from the back room. No early breakfast on offer for people who want to leave early, PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS. Marco should have a walk around the hotel side of this building. He might change his mind about having his restaurant associated with The Cube. Great location for everything, shopping, Bullring, New Street Station. Great view early evening. (23rd floor). If The Cube doesn't agree with my review, I have a number of photos to back it up.

Awful stay on 12 Nov, initially arrived with the disappointing announcement that there's no cooked breakfast available, upon entering my room I found that the TV did not work (a different brand remote was present) on calling reception they said they don't have any more and couldn't help. The air con didn't work, I should have known this as there was 2 upright standing fans in the room but no windows that could open. The floor was stained and dirty, the bed was not comfy at-all and the extractor in the bathroom didn't turn off, all of which caused a sleepless night. I asked to change rooms but was told they were fully booked. On checking out my colleague complained that someone entered her room during the night, the receptionist couldn't care less and actually left the post to collect her deliveroo breakfast.

Eye wateringly expensive drinks in the hotel bar and sporadic closing times. I visited the cube bar at 21:50 on Monday night only to be told that they were closing as it was quiet. They agreed to serve me after I said I was a guest but it felt incredibly awkward. The manager was polite and explained to me that the bar was a separate business to the hotel (despite my bank showing the Cube hotel ). I can’t understand how a 4 star hotel doesn’t have a bar that remains open until at least until normal pub closing times for the convenience of its guests. The hotel reception later told us that the bar closes at sporadic times. On the plus side the views were fantastic and the decor stylish almost worth the £16 for a Gin and tonic! Nice enough hotel but suggest you give the bar a miss unless prices come down and customer service goes up!

Currently lying on the bed in room 2432 sweating to death. The air conditioning does not work in the hotel and because the windows in the whole building do not open it is like a sauna in here. It is ridiculously hot! Many people are complaining about it and the staff on reception are telling guests that they’ll “reset the system” and it will be “back up and running in 20 minutes.” This is a lie, they know the air conditioning does not work and that’s why there are fans in the rooms. Fans do not work if they only blow hot air around a hot, sealed room. The cleaners were more honest than the reception staff and actually told us the air conditioning wasn’t working. There’s a wedding on here at the moment and the parents of one of the couple has had to pack their things together and go home because they cannot stay in the room as it’s unbearable. Another couple checked out shortly after they had checked in and found a nearby hotel to stay in because they were also lied to about the air conditioning. Turned the tv on and the remote does not work. Rang reception and no one answered the phone. We stayed here a couple of years ago and the whole building has gone down hill since our last stay. This is no longer a nice place to visit and stay. At best I’d say it was a 2* hotel.

An awful hotel with extremely rude staff. We arrived to check in around 5pm and went up to our rooms to find that they were extremely warm and the air conditioning was not working. We called down to let the front desk know immediately they told us they would “reset the panel” nothing happened and we called down a second time and were told that there were issues in a lot of rooms with the aircon. In a room with no windows this is an urgent issue, especially on an extremely hot day and the temperature in the room was unbearable. We went down to the front desk and were told nothing could be done and we should stay elsewhere as there was no maintenance until 10am the next day (I find this strange as it is a “A world-class destination in the heart of Birmingham” and there are surely means to get the aircon fixed sooner) This is now our third interaction with staff who are not taking our issue seriously. They eventually told us that they would put a fan in our room and we were happy with this and super thankful for the understanding. We thought that the issue was resolved. Later we got back around 12:30am and arrived back in our room to find no fan and the room still extremely hot. We immediately called back to the front desk to get no answer- despite the front desk claiming to be open 24/7. To come back to the room and find that we had been lied to was extremely disappointing and we were left with no choice but to sleep on the floor as the beds were so hot with wet towels over us to try and contend with the heat. After a night with little sleep we felt that our stay was nothing short of appalling and the cost of £160 was completely unjust. When arriving to check out the next day there was already a dissatisfied customer making a complaint about aircon and an array of other things. We then proceeded to check out and make a formal complaint about the state of our stay. We were met with no empathy and told that we could get 15% of our stay refunded, while we appreciate it is not the front desk’s fault that the aircon was broken you just don’t expect to be treated with rudeness. We were told that we were “jumping on the bandwagon” and essentially lying about the issues with our room and the “manager” was extremely rude and confrontational. This is just insulting when we had already raised this issue several times and had an awful nights sleep. There is a level of professionalism that was really lacking.

Oof. Rooms are all on the 23 and 24th floors, so while there is a great view, you'll be enjoying it through the sweat dripping from your brow. Since you're so high up, there are no opening windows so you are entirely reliant on the air conditioning, which according to the staff, is broken (at least for the whole 24th floor). It must have been broken for a while as the staff were entirely unsurprised by my complaint and request for a room with working aircon, but alas it was not a request they could fulfil. Without missing a beat, the lady on the phone at reception offered me a 20% discount and 2 free drinks in the bar, or if I preferred a full refund if I wasn't going to be able to stay (I was on a non refundable rate too). The floor-standing fan that was already in position and plugged in next to the bed was another clue that this is a long term issue plaguing the property. Other reviews on TripAdvisor and here seem to also suggest this is a long term issue. It must have been _well_ over 25°C in that room, so that decision was easy once I'd checked that other hotels were available - I took the refund and was out of there within 30 minutes of arriving. I suggest you don't even bother going that far. Only stay here if you enjoy sleeping in high-20s heat. (Incidentally I Googled the fault code on the AC controller, and it's a low pressure fault. So unless it's a bad sensor, basically there's no gas in their aircon system. This should be something fixable by any reputable refrigeration service company, but for whatever reason, it has not been fixed.)

The room's air conditioning did not work, and it was extremely hot due to the building's structure. Additionally, the room was not in good condition overall. It seemed the hotel staff was already aware of the issue, as they mentioned a fault on the panel in the main office related to our room. The hotel staff informed us that they couldn't switch our room because they were fully booked. However, they offered us the option to cancel and get a refund, which we accepted. While I appreciate the refund, the inconvenience and extra cost of finding a different hotel at the last minute left a sour taste. Check in was simple. A deposit of £1.01 was taken from my card presumably in case I nick a loo roll. The room looked clean and tidy with a king sized bed and flat screen TV. The kettle was hidden in the wardrobe and there was a fridge, iron and ironing board. Elemis full sized toiletries in the bathroom with a little note that says basically if you take these we'll charge you £20 a bottle for the pleasure. No such note on the bathrobes and slippers, standing lamp, designer cushions and flat screen TV. 😊 The bed was very bouncy and uncomfortable. Sharing it means feeling every movement from your partner and being catapulted across the room if they have an exuberant sneeze. The air con blows hot air so that a night in Birmingham feels like 24 hours in the tropics with a view of Moor Street station. Breakfast. Empty MPW restaurant with his gorming mush on every flat surface. (Almost) panoramic views of Birmingham to accompany rubbery toast, frozen butter, fatty streaky bacon, solid sausage, cold beans and volcanic mushrooms. My dogs enjoyed the full English later that day. Would I stay here again? In an apocalyptic event.

Went to Marco Pierre whites restaurant. Couldn't ask for better views. But... Had been given a Virgin experience voucher as a present. Booked for the afternoon. When arrived told they don't accept vouchers in afternoon so come back in evening. As it happens that was ok for us but if we had come especially for a day only it would have been a disaster. When we did go we were ribbed off with the cheap menu and the food was very disappointing. My beetroot salad was all beetroot with a quarter of a hard boiled egg and about two candied walnuts. Upgraded steak was inconsistent thickness so one part tough, one part tasteless. And not rested. My partners medium/rare was tough(couldn't even cut with a steak knife) and very bloody. Truffle salad was frisee leaves (un separated) and a few beetroot leaves (all from a bag?) saturated with truffle oil.

The photos of the hotel looked great, very quirky, which I like, and although not wholly disappointing, the hotel was looking a little tired and in need of some renovation work. The room itself offered a great view of the city and was extremely spacious, with pretty much everything you would want in a room including, mini fridge, safe, and iron & ironing board. The issue I had with my room was the air conditioning. It was a pretty cold day, 1° outside and the air-con, no matter what the setting would not heat the room up sufficiently. The polite receptionist offered me an alternative room, but the air-con was just as ineffective in that room. I ate at Marco Pierre White's restaurant in the hotel. I was further disappointed to find out they didn't have any draft beers, and had run out of lamb too, which I was looking forward to. I had the calamari for starters and tempura prawns with a side of onion rings for mains. Both tasted great. I was surprised to learn upon receiving the bill that I was being charged £5 for a window table, as I didn't ask for a window table but was asked if I was fine sitting by the window. The view was stunning, so it wasn't too disappointing, but I would have preferred to have known beforehand. I should add all of the staff in the restaurant were very warm and welcoming.

Ate in Rodizio Rico, just 2 of us, great atmosphere, food was ok but each time I said the meat was too blue for me, they didn't come back, not everyone likes rare meats, our waitress was Erica, beautiful, professional and fabulous, a great help!

I do recommend this place. I like the fact the food is cooked freshly each time and is very tasty. I have tried a burger which was really nice for the price. The baguettes are a nice change with plenty of filling. The pizza is nice and hot and decent value. I tried the pasta which was really good. This place has nice food at reasonable prices. It is not a budget takeaway but do a good job at getting the prices right especially as the food is cooked fresh. I recommend.
