This is a lovely Korean restaurant. We ordered the tofu, beef bulgogi and korean chicken ramen. The portions were just the right size and the flavours were delicious. Great service. Extra kimchi for just £3! Will be sure to return.

A place I visited after reading a review while traveling in Scotland. I wasn't hungry, so I planned to eat a small amount, but after ordering tteokbokki, I thought it was a Korean dish, so I ordered more of this and that. I saw hair in the stew I ordered, so I exchanged my order for a different stew, and they happily agreed. After paying, I looked into the kitchen and saw that a person who looked like an ordinary Korean mother was making it with all her heart. They said you'd have to wait in line if you go late because the seats are limited, so I went a little early and arrived before opening, but they opened the door. Just as the review said, the restaurant was small and there was a long line outside. The food was delicious, so I ate too much, contrary to my initial plan, but it was about a 10-15 minute walk to the train station?? It was a nice experience to walk around downtown Edinburgh after visiting Kim's Mini Mill located just down the street.

I wanted to eat Korean food so I searched on Google. I visited because the reviews were good. There was a wait even though it was a weekday evening. I waited about 20 minutes before I could go in. Steamed pork back ribs and stone pot bibimbap I ordered 5 small side dishes. I was glad they gave it to me first. Pork ribs are very soft and tender It was delicious, but the soup was very sweet. It was a shame. The stone pot bibimbap tasted ordinary. Still, the atmosphere is pretty. I am satisfied with the high quality food.

Lovely spot, be early or ready to possibly wait as the inside is very small and fairly busy Because of that, you will feel kind rushed to get out as soon as you finish eating! Haha This is not the place to go for a long chill talk, but it's part of the charm! The food is yummy, affordable and heartwarming Couldn't find the updated menu before going, so I decided to attach it to my review for other to see :(

A cozy little Korean restaurant which has a home vibe to it. My boyfriend and I went here on our holiday, craving hot Korean food on a cold night. We were not disappointed!!! I ordered the kimchi stew and bibimbap. The stew was hot and spicy and my boyfriend was nearly crying (to be fair they ask you what spice you want, woops). My boyfriend said his bibimbap could’ve been a bigger portion, but otherwise we had a good time here. The waiters are funny too!

Brilliant! A fantastic little eatery with some of the most authentic Korean food I’ve had for some time. The kimchi is delicious, the ribs fall off the bone the sizzling stone bowls hot. It’s a BYO set up with a small corkage and they’re not that many tables which means it’s busy, which is good. The staff are friendly and helpful. My future visits to Edinburgh will now have to tie in to when Kim!s is open. Love it.

Been coming to Kims ever since my favourite Korean down the road, Sodaeng ,closed its doors and moved to London :-( But Kims has been a great substitute. Whilst I was solo this time, it meant no queue time and straight in. Saying that anytime I've queued with friends I've not waited more than 15-20 mins max. Great little place just a shame you cannot book but I understand their ethos around this. Food is always fantastic and I went for my usual rice cakes, nice and spicy and my go to Pork Ribs in a lovely spicy broth. The review which says the food is bland clearly ordered incorrectly, especially when you specify the heat level as part of ordering. I've never had anything bland at Kims. Byob is also a nice touch but I do like their Melon soda. Absolute gem of a place.

We finally visited this highly recommended place. Hugely disappointed by all 3 dishes we ordered because all were extremely SALTY and SWEET. There's no longer a flavour profile in these Korean dishes when so much salt and sugar are dumped into each dish. Having eaten hundreds of Korean meals, these are unfortunately poor interpretations of Korean dishes for the British palate. The customers at the next table arrived requesting LOWER SALT, so clearly this is a well known problem. Also, the pickled vegetables that came with the meal were incredibly tiny (2 slices of cucumbers for 2 meal sets?). Surely you could be more generous with inexpensive vegetables. Dishes we ordered: rice cake, bibimbap, squid/pork bulgolgi (so salty that I couldn't finish).

I read the reviews of Kims Mini Meals and was looking forward to a special evening of Korean culinary delights. However I was disappointed by the lack of finesse and blandness of the cooking that night. The food was wholesome, plentiful and good value but totally tasteless, more ordinary student grub than gourmet delight. The rice was stodgy, the vegetables, tofu and eggs were so bland they were almost indistinguishable. The seafood and pork stews we chose were also disappointing, without spices or herb; too watery; more hearty boiled soup than the rich and complex slow-cooked broth I had hoped for. Presentation and atmosphere were nothing special. I certainly did not feel that I discovered a hidden culinary gem.

We walked past Kim's Mini Meals accidentally and were standing outside for a few minutes pondering the menu, peeking inside and checking Google. We weren't quite sure whether we wanted to go inside (we actually had made reservations for a different place later that night), when one of the super friendly waitresses stepped outside and asked us if we were looking for a table and we just said yes. In hindsight we were probably pretty lucky, apparently it's not unusual to wait outside for a fair amount of time - there are not a lot of tables. I generally avoid eating meat, but I read so many good reviews about the pork ribs that I decided to give them a go. And they were fantastic - they do, literally, slide off the bone almost by themselves. I have not seen this in a good long time, you usually have to gnaw them in all but the very best BBQ restaurants. Just beware that they are cooked, not smoked. My wife has the fried undon noodles with tofu and she was also super happy with her choice. The waitresses deserve a special mention, they were extremely kind and forthcoming - sometimes this comes across as being a little phony, but definitely not here. Two thumbs up from us! As for the atmosphere, it is very down to earth and unpretentious in the best kind of way. This is not a posh place. The meals were 14 pounds each including a small appetizer, which is out of this world value for money if you ask me. And finally a small word of advice: "spicy" definitely means spicy. I ordered "medium" and that was perfect for me (I do like spicy food!). Only pick that option if you know what you are getting yourself into 😉.

Amazing place to try authentic Korean food for a reasonable price. The food taste like it is homemade and the servers are helpful. Special mention to japchae – the best I've tasted in the UK so far.

If you are contemplating whether to visit or not, DO IT! Cannot recommend highly enough. We visited on a Friday night & although yes, you will likely need to wait outside for a table, this only builds the anticipation more for an incredible meal! The japchae and the chicken bulgogi chicken were a personal favourite, although the ribs were amazing and it’s broth was sooooo tasty! (The grape juice was also so good - it was all just amazing!)

Delicious authentic Korean meal. My family loves the bulgogi especially! The service was also very friendly. We would come here again.

Been here many times over the past few years. The pork ribs never disappoint — the broth is extremely rich and the meat slides off the bone. The sundubu jjigae (soft tofu stew) and japchae are fantastic too. Portions are generous on the whole, great for sharing. Definitely worth coming early if you want to avoid the long queue. The perfect meal out on a cold evening. A side note on the service — I wonder if they’ve recently changed the restaurant management? The lady who served us apologised a number of times while explaining the owner’s ordering rules (min. 1 dish per pax), with a tone that suggested she thought it inconvenient / slightly unreasonable. My guests and I felt she shouldn’t have done that, though, especially as service staff. Moreover, as patrons, we’re happy to and should indeed abide by the rules of the owner. Apart from that, everything was excellent.

I had expected to eat Korean food before trying the dishes, but they made me disappointed. They were not Korean food. The pork was too salty and the soup tasted like chinese food. I hope people don't think that food is Korean food.

Travelled from Glasgow to come here & it didn’t disappoint. The food was delicious. Can’t fault it. Given 5 반찬 to share and a sweet corn soup each. I had a big bowl of 된장찌개 and my daughter has 비빔밥(beef not tofu) and they were both so tasty. There was nothing we had that we didn’t like. Highly recommend.

Nice food served in a cosy little restaurant, the staff were really friendly and happy to help with anything you needed. The only downside for us was the 1 hour wait to get a table (no reservations) so be prepared for a long wait.

Family run Korean restaurant serving hearty, flavourful simple Korean classics. Generous portions and very friendly service too. Absolutely adore this little gem as do my Korean friends. My favourites are the Dolsot Galbi, kimchi or sundubu jjigae and pajeon. You can choose your spice level for most dishes and you get 3 complementary side dishes with any meal. There’s often a line outside but I promise it’s well worth the wait! Wear something airy and breathable as it gets steamy inside + spice 🔥

Outstanding! Been wanting to go here for ages and the 15 min queue outside was so worth it. All the staff where super friendly, food was served quick and was absolutely delicious! The pork ribs were plentiful and tasty and my friends Seafood dish was a great portion and well flavoured. Go join the queue, it's worth the wait!

Nothing mini about Kim’s mini meals. I thought it was fairly good Korean food - not mind blowing but very satisfying. We had the beef bulgogi and pork ribs - both generous portions and quality ingredients. Deserves its great reputation.

Very cozy and lovely restaurant! Food was amazing but starters can be quite big and expensive! Recommend to go earlier to secure a table as they don't do reservation.
