Delicious food with many options to pick from. The customer service was exceptional; the staff went above and beyond by providing me with a vase for my flowers. Overall, Kibou is a good choice for anyone looking for great food and outstanding service. I highly recommend it!

We ate very tasty sushi. The table at the bar was a bit noisy, the staff was friendly and accommodating ❤️ the food was served gradually.

Rude staff and tasteless sushi.

I visit this restaurant regularly, it is a fantastic place to meet with friends and for date night. The atmosphere and decoration is cosy and unique. The food is unreal, it is so freshly made. On occasions the staff sometimes have been a little rude but the food makes up for it.

Good food, service, ambience and friendly staff. Food was delicious and good value for money. Ticks all boxes, can’t wait to get back!!

Went this evening for my wife’s birthday - this is arguably one of the best meals we have had in a long time! The service was excellent from start to finish - attentive without being stuffy, which is my favourite. Particular favourites were the crab bao bun, the scallop tataki and the wagyu nigiri! The chicken nanban and the chashu were unbelievably tasty too! Will definitely be coming again to try other bits on the menu.

Visited over 8 times, one of my favourite foods in Solihull. Highly recommend it to everyone. Their salmon is very fresh, Volcano Roll is super nice.

Just been myself and husband (27) taking my grandpa (98) who had never had Japanese. Food and atmosphere were great and staff were incredible. The man running front of house was lovely to my grandfather and let him try some sushi before choosing his dish as he was hesitant about the raw fish having never had it before. Made us feel very welcome. Great set menu deal as well.

Awesome Japanese experience! Great food, great staff. The restaurant is located near car parks and easy to access. Well decorated with a lot of taste. The food offering is complete there's a bit for everyone, fabulous drinks selection, Japanese sake, gins and whiskeys, great cocktails and all the classics beers and wines. We had a great time and we will visit again!

Booked to eat here for my husband's birthday and we were not disappointed. Friendly greeting and drinks served straight away. The waitresses were very knowledgeable about the food and explained in detail what things were and made recommendations which was very helpful. We shared 5 different dishes which were all superb. The wagyu tatami was exceptional but we loved every dish. Would definitely return to eat here but make sure you book in advance as it gets very busy. Great atmosphere in the restaurant and you certainly didn't feel cramped at the table which was great.

My first visit to a Japanese restaurant, did not disappoint. A very helpful waiter took us through the lunch menu giving a full explanation of the dishes and food was fabulous.

Some of the best sushi I've ever had, food quality was amazing. Decor was really lovely and the staff were friendly. We came for a birthday and they made it really special. It is not the cheapest place to eat but the quality, setting and service are all fantastic so definitely worth it.

We eat here regularly with the kids. The service is always exceptional, just like the food. They are very accommodating for families.

I've been to Kibou in Solihull a few times now and can confirm this place is faultless, not even if I try hard to find something wrong with it. They recently introduced sushi tacos, which make a great starter to share. Similar feedback was shared by other guests who visited the restaurant with me, who were similarly impressed with the quality of the food. Don't expect cheap but it's money well spent when you get this level of quality.

We experienced bottomless sushi and were very disappointed. It's hard to imagine that the combinations they prepared for the second and third stages were almost 75% salmon and avocado（yap, we don’t know what we are going to have, sounds fancy the chef prepared for you…). The salmon had no flavour, and as we ate, we kept wondering why the bottomless sushi category is so much limited. If they are really afraid of food cost, they shall consider to call stop the bottomless sushi menu instead of serving the same within 90minutes. It's very disappointing not to be able to try other flavours. Don’t wanna waste so we had it all, we are not really full but we are tired with the tasteless sushi. The rice tasted similar to supermarket sushi... it's unbelievable that this is a highly-rated Japanese restaurant. The fried chicken and takoyaki tasted good, but they weren't unlimited... I wouldn't recommend this place to any sushi fans, as you'll leave disappointed. The environment and service were nice, but the food was just too disappointing. Maybe only the bottomless sushi menu deserves disrespectful. We have no guts to visit again just to keep my love to sushi. Hoping we are the only one feeling this way.

We came here for a shared birthday meal as a group of 4. Some of the things we ordered were: -From the set menu: Takoyaki (fried balls with octopus) and duck teriyaki poke bowl. - Dynamite prawn tacos and the Volcano roll The freshness of the ingredients was very evident in every bite. The flavours were absolutely phenomenal! This was our first time at a Japanese restaurant, and it did not disappoint. There was something for everyone and every person in our group thoroughly enjoyed their meal. We also ordered prawn crackers and even those were the best ones we've ever had! Before I forget, they give you chopsticks but you can ask for a fork (I did). 10/10 on our experience here, we highly recommend this place and we will come back again !!!!

Visited for our anniversary and we were not disappointed. The service was excellent, and the food was possibly some of the best I’ve ever eaten, along with the drinks being superb. Will absolutely be revisiting if in the area again, one of our best dining experiences.

Nice place the food was tasty but 😀 we was 4 people for a bottomless sushi and basically you have 90 minutes and three type of dishes to taste after you taste them all then you can order more but you have just few types of sushi you can order and the waiter is talking their time so you end up with a feeling that you went there for a bottomless sushi but on the end it was limited sushi experience 🤣🤣🤣 so very mixed feelings good and bad 🫡

So the atmosphere is really nice. Had the worst sea food experience. Ordered sea food ramen, I couldn't take a single bite because of the smell from the food, left the clams and the large prawn untouched. Literally the smell was the worst because i dont know may be the batch wasnt current or idk. I did eat the ramen and spice level was good. Also asked for halal sushi as they made it with sake, but said they couldn't as its made in bulk which was totally acceptable. The guy also put me on discount because of the food. But had a terrible experience as I am a foodie and nothing else matters.

First time eating here & won't be my last. Having worked as a sushi chef in the past and reviewing kibou in the past, I decided to take my family. Definitely NOT disappointed. I myself had the spicy tuna roll & duck and cucumber with an okite iru. My partner had the volcano Roll and a Yuyake. My son had a chicken ramen vegetarian broth as the regular is spicy. Afterwards, we enjoyed apple gyoza, yuzu cheesecake, and mango sorbet. The atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely. The staff are very helpful and attentive.

Third time I've eaten here and standards are starting to slip a little. Plenty of staff but most are standing around chatting with each other not paying attention. Had to ask for drinks twice even though my glass was empty for 10 mins. Had to ask for water and the complementary nuts. Had to ask for chilli twice. Sashimi was good but clearly not as fresh as previous visits. Sushi not quite rolled correctly. Portions also smaller. Spent over 85 quid and left feeling a little disappointed and almost felt like disputing the service charge. It's great to have this in Solihull but having sloppy service when paying premium prices isn't really acceptable. Updated. Been coming back and the service and food has been superb. Great variations on the menu and great staff. Well done Kibou!

I visited here with two friends who were celebrating their silver wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed with our choice! It was our first visit but definitely won’t be our last. The service was superb & the food delicious. We shared so many tasty dishes. My friend was so impressed with the tempura prawns starter that he had another portion all to himself instead of a dessert! Can’t wait to return & will recommend to everyone I meet!!!

Took three payments total, one without my card or me being present?! Since they have then taken over 4 days to get back to me and have now told me I am lying about this even when I have provided bank statements and have confirmation from my bank that they have duplicated the payment multiple times. It’s been raised as fraud and I have also reported it as a breach of data protection as they’ve stored my bank details and used it to repeat the payment a day later. They still have yet to return my money to me. Avoid this restaurant at all costs unless you want your bank card to be charged multiple times and then be called a liar when trying to get your money back. Something dodgy definitely going on at this site.

Fantastic place, very friendly staff, but most of all: fantastic sushi. The sushi master recommended the "surf and turf" set, which was simply divine.

The wide selection of nigiri is delicate, tender and buttery. Sushi and Katsu was very delicious as well. Service was very lovely and had knowledge about the food. Especially Mikey provided a great service and was very friendly towards us.

Beautiful food, lovely location and nice feeling premises with a good vibe. We've been here 3 times know and would be going more if we lived closer.

The food served here is flavoursome but not exciting. It is very standard western Japanese fare that is probably slightly overpriced. Cannot complain about the price too much though as the service was brilliant and considering how packed the place was quite quick as well. The sashimi was the highlight of the meal - fresh and delicious. The volcano roll pieces, though tummy, need to be rolled tighter or made smaller. They were a tad too big for the mouth. My wife had to pick it apart to be able to eat it. That is a sushi sin!

Definitely recommend. Dined in for a birthday meal and the staff were all lovely and very attentive, went above and beyond to check what foods my mother could eat (soya allergen) and they constantly checked if the table were happy so it was overall a great experience. Thank you to all the staff

We really enjoyed this place, the interior is just gorgeous and the atmosphere and service are both great! We had the sushi platter, the fried squid, chicken karaage and bao buns which were all delicious. Had the kibou cocktail which I would 100% recommend! We will definitely be back.

Nice place for Japanese style food in Solihull. Good selection of sushi and sashimi alongside hot dishes such as ramen and curries. Tempura prawns are a highlight, as are the cocktails. The Sakito cocktail is well worth a try.

I cannot recommend this place enough! The staff are so warm and helpful, the food is delicious (especially the Saba nigiri!), the decor is just beautiful and even the wasabi is fantastic! Always my favourite place to dine out!

Nice spot, service was sluggish and unprofessional, food was a bit disappointing- the dynamite shrimps were not crunchy and missing seasoning, the Dun Bury dish was un balanced - way too much pork belly, not enough spice and salt.

Had a wonderful time at Kibou in Solihull, the staff were attentive and quick. The peach bellini cocktail is highly recommended as well as the Chicken Katsu. I visited on my birthday and enjoyed a complimentary dessert which was a really nice touch on the already amazing service. Thank you!

We travelled from Birmingham specifically to eat at this Japanese restaurant, our booking was for 3 to 4:45, when we arrived at 3:10 the rude, unfriendly waitress (and possibly the manager) told us we couldn't dine as it was after 3 (in a very condescending and impatient manner) I was very disappointed. Would not expect anything less from this restaurant.

We've been to Kibou multiple times and are never disappointed. The food and the range of choices are spectacular, our favourites being the Volcano roll (epic) and the Tuna Tataki. We should also mention that the things they can do with an aubergine are mind-boggling! Our son is a very adventurous eater but our daughter more fussy, but she loves the Chicken Karaage so this really is a crowd pleaser. For those new to Solihull, be aware that many of the restaurants are within the main shopping centre, whereas Kibou is refreshing as it's tucked away in the old part of town and therefore feels more special. As you enter, the decor is stunning and with only 58 covers the restaurant manages to feel intimate. A special shout out for last night to the manager, Jane and our waitress, Lucy. Totally my fault, I inadvertently booked for two when we were dining as a family of four. Although the restaurant was full, this didn't fluster Jane and she deftly arranged for a couple dining slightly later to be offered a complimentary cocktail at the bar in order that we be seated. Lucy was incredibly attentive, friendly and professional and offered excellent advice around what next to try from the extensive menu. The speed of the service can always be variable at Kibou Solihull as it's always at full capacity, but then this is definitely not fast food. There is a reason we keep coming back to Kibou as one of our favourite restaurants. We were seated next to another couple who dine there every week. On special occasions we sometimes like to dine as a couple at a Michelin star restaurant. The quality of the food and the service we receive at Kibou Solihull are not far behind.

Five of us came to Kibou today to celebrate my birthday this weekend after a wonderful visit in January, and once again it was a gorgeous experience! Booking a table was easy using the online system, and I received a phonecall afterwards to clarify whether we were after the afternoon tea or the a la carte (this time, we went for a la carte). Originally, I booked for eight, but three dropped out last minute due to illness - Kibou were happy to accommodate this on the day and separated one of the tables so other customers could use it. Once we were all seated, we ordered drinks - I went for the Aloe Aloe mocktail, and the Sencha (green tea). One of my favourite things about Kibou is that they have a brilliant range of mocktails; whenever I've accompanied friends to cocktail bars I've been lucky to have a couple of virgin options to pick from. Here, there's three no-alcohol, and three low-alcohol, all beautifully presented. Food orders were taken after a few minutes of perusing the menu. I had the Seafood Kakiage special with tsukemono on the side, and my friends had sashimi, curry udon, salmon teriyaki, miso soup and the Dragon roll. All the food was well-prepared and tasty, and we also found room for a pudding - mochi ice cream for four of us, and an apple gyoza for one. We sat for a while chatting and letting our food settle before paying the bill and bidding farewell. All of us agreed it was excellent nosh - two of our party are from London and are planning to go to the Battersea branch next! Many thanks to Evelina, Arta and the team for a lovely birthday meal.

No professionallism in one of the waitress , I ordered drink and one of the waitress started making Weird faces . Hospitality industry should have manners that how to behave with customers, they should know how to treat people rather than making weird face expressions and misbehaving with the customers. I have been to many restaurants and lounges never had this kind of experience the most most worst experience of my life ever . Pls teach your staff some manners. Worst experience ever! Fantastic night at Kibou for my Mum’s birthday. The Manager who greeted us on arrival couldn’t have been more caring or thoughtful and the service from our waitress was also excellent. Food was superb and my son (who considers himself of a bit of a Japanese food expert) rated it the best he’d had. Service was speedy and considering our party’s age range was from 27 to 91 to keep everyone delighted says it all!!

The waitress has so poor attitude she was making faces while i was ordering very bad no professionalism one of the staff has so much attitude issue so much i cant tell a waitress who is also a cleaner behaves likes a spoilt millionaire…. people just watch their own level before behaving

Good relatively authentic ramen with good broth, sushi is not traditional Japanese style with a distinct lack of wasabi within the rice. However it's the UK and they can't make it too authentic or else no one will eat anything. Hence the 4/5 star, service and atmosphere is quite good. Not my first time there and they are keeping standards up

This restaurant is in the old Cafe Rouge place, so a little cramped. Atmosphere was buzzing, and service was good, but the lack of pictures and detailed description, on each menu item, made chosing food a bit diffficult. Staff said to ask, but they were very busy. Food was served a bit at a time, as it was cooked, great if you chose dishes to share, but not so good, if you want to all eat together. Enjoyed the food and experience, but not sure I would return. Younger members of the family seemed to enjoy it more than I did. [BTW, you are allocated a time you have to leave your table.]
