Our first visit to celebrate our Daughter’s birthday. All of us were thrilled with the fresh cooked food. A lovely atmosphere and good attentive service. Many items are tapas style and they all arrive as they are ready, need to be mindful of that.

Excellent for couples, groups and kids. Exceptional exciting food - including vegetarian plenty of great options. Highly recommend!

Couldn’t fault the excellent service we received on visiting, the food was fantastic as always quality ingredients prepared beautifully. The teriyaki sirloin sharer was standout for us! Perfectly cooked & tender. Cocktails were great too and the team were kind enough to gift us a dessert for our wedding anniversary. We love Kibou!

What a fabulous spot! The atmosphere was buzzing, and the food was absolutely delicious. Our request to split a main course into two bowls was handled without a hitch, which let us try a few starters and a pudding—all of which were absolutely delicious. The service was spot on too; I couldn't fault it. Can’t wait to come back for more!

Updated review - quality has gone downhill fast and so has the service. Received inedible sushi and called to complain and really poor service. Steer clear. Very disappointing after once pricing this restaurant as the best Japanese food in Solihull. Having lived for 3 years in Tokyo this is our go to place when we want Japanese food in Solihull. One of the best Japanese restaurants in the region. We visit KIBOU in Solihull regularly as a family, and it never disappoints. The menu offers a great mix of traditional dishes alongside some with modern twists (which you may or may not prefer), but there’s always something exciting to try. The ebi and yasai tempura are outstanding, featuring a perfectly crisp, light batter that makes for a fantastic eating experience. For the kids, we always go for the bento box. The soft, juicy chicken katsu in it is an absolute favourite. We also love the Gunkan with tobiko topping and the great variety of Uramaki (California roll)—a real delight every time. Even though we’re not fans of raw fish ourselves, there’s still plenty of choice, and the quality and variety of the food keep us coming back time and again. A must-visit if you’re in or around Solihull.

Absolutely fantastic menu and service at Kibou! My partner and I were amazed and very pleased with the wide range of vegan-friendly options. We could go back again and eat an entirely different meal and I’m sure we’d be just as satisfied. So much range and everything was delicious. We especially recommend the Yasai Volcano Roll! Battered and fried sushi is incredible. My partner also loved the sake he tried. Ooo and the apple gyoza desert was delicious!! We’re so glad we decided to get one each! The atmosphere was lovely, and the staff were a delight. Friendly, attentive, and clearly enjoy their jobs!

Amazing food. We had tuna tartare and sushi tacos to start, and the Volcano roll, nigiri and pork ramen for main. All were exceptional. Service and ambience were great. I love sushi and am so happy to have found this restaurant!

I was visiting Solihull for a business meeting and stopped @KiBOU for lunch. The foods were really great and fresh. The environment was very friendly and the staff were very supportive not to exaggerate with too much orders. Infact this honesty touched me a lot, normally I find myself ordering more food and finally can’t finish. Thanks Kibou, see you next time.

A restaurant that just does things the right way. Nice atmosphere, good service and most importantly the food is really well cooked. Not often you get all of this these days. I can’t accept it’s 3.50 for a tiny coke though. But in all a really good meal what feels like the right prices. Apart from the drink..

Great food loved evey course we had, well looked after by the staff. They are a credit to kibou. Tried the complimentary sushi and was well impressed as not had it before.

Was great. Marked down on service as my started came late, apparently the dish I chose takes a bit longer to cook but if this is the case the chef should be able to prioritise to ensure everything comes out together. Was still delicious though.

Excellent sushi, really flavoursome dishes. Love the fact that the mixed platter is different every day, depending on what fish was fresh at the fishmonger’s. Definitely recommend, but this is not a cheap meal.

Amazing sushi in the heart of Solihull. The service is super friendly and quick. I would recommend the volcano roll and the bao buns. The Ebi tempura is also great. Easy to get to from multiple car parks and close to the shops

We had a fantastic experience at Kibou. The freshest sushi we have ever had. Despite the night being fully booked, the food was brought out promptly, and to the highest quality. There was a table of loud guests that were irritating a lot of diners, but the staff and quality of the food more than made up for it. Highly recommend!

Exceptional Sushi Experience at Kibou – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently visited Kibou in Solihull, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. It had been a while since I last had sushi, and I was thrilled to find a restaurant that serves it as well as Kibou does. From the moment we arrived, Mikey Hewitt made us feel welcome. He was incredibly attentive, guiding us through the menu and offering great recommendations. Another staff member, a lovely Nigerian lady, also provided excellent service, helping us choose the best dishes. Their kindness and professionalism made the experience even better. The food was fantastic! We especially loved the Volcano Roll and the delicious octopus meat bowls. The kitchen menu had a great variety, and every dish was fresh and flavorful. Even my daughter, who is usually a picky eater, finished all her food—which speaks volumes! To top it off, we had a cheesecake for dessert, which was perfectly soft, sweet, and absolutely delicious. Overall, it was a 5-star experience, and I highly recommend Kibou to anyone looking for high-quality sushi in Solihull. A big thank you to Mikey and the team for making our visit so enjoyable!

KIBOU is a nice addition to Solihull High Street. It has good atmosphere. The vegetarian dishes on the menu are really good. Their Aubergine and the Veg Volcano Sushi were really good. We weren’t impressed with their non vegetarian Sushi and Ramen. We have eaten better at other places. Their service leaves a lot wanting for. The waiting at the table is average. The wait for food is very long. The food never arrives together. We had one person still waiting for food, when others had finished eating. The menu is expensive. And overall I didn’t feel it was value for money. May go there occasionally, but not going to be a regular place for us.

We visited Kibou in Solihull. It's lovely & it was nice to try something different, we shared the duck & salmon tacos, which were delicious. Our mains were surf & turf nigiri, the Ramon soup & the chicken teriyaki. They were lovely. The staff are friendly & the atmosphere is chilled. It's a nice place to visit

This is my third time at KIBOU and it never disappoints. The setting and atmosphere was lovely, even on a Wednesday night in Jan! There’s a great choice of food on the main menu and specials. We ordered 8 plates to share and all of them were incredible, there isn’t one that I wouldn’t recorder. Our favourites had to be the spicy tuna roll, tempura prawn sushi and the Miso aubergine! The cocktails were also executed beautifully. Overall an incredible evening, made even better by attentive knowledgeable staff. Would 100% recommend, can’t wait for our next visit.

Went to celebrate my Godson's birthday. The staff were very generous in allowing us more time as a party member got stuck in traffic. The food was superb 👌 the staff brought out my Godson's birthday cake and sang and joined us in singing happy birthday. Thank you.

Kibou restaurant in Solihull is consistently a fabulous eating establishment. We have been a few times now and the food is of a very high standard, all the staff are super efficient and friendly, and the restaurant itself has a really cosy feel. A real gem in the centre of Solihull and really hopes it continues to be so fabulous!

I’m once again I’m compelled to write a review after visiting Kibou Solihull as it never disappoints. I’m fussy but this restaurant surpasses all expectations, it is truly fabulous. The food is of a highly consistent standard, the staff are always friendly and efficient and the atmosphere is lovely!

Looking for something different, this is a great restaurant. My wife and I went on Xmas Eve and were looked after and entertained by Lucy, lovely lady and a credit to the establishment. Great food, cosy atmosphere and excellent food. Wines are very decent too. What more could you want? Our 4th visit and never disappoints.

Tasty food that is beautifully presented. Cosy atmosphere with helpful and friendly staff. They informed us that they were short on staff that day, but in the end we didn't wait for long for our food to be served. Do mind there is a service charge included in the final price, something we didn't mind paying for but it might come as a surprise to some customers.

We went to the restaurant for the first time and I must say I was impressed by the place. The vibe is really nice, the food amazing. The only one thing I could say was the service was a bit on the slow side, but I must admit the restaurant was fully booked. If you planing on going, definitely make a booking before hand as it looks like the place is really popular

We had the Afternoon Tea and the sushi was delicious but the meal was not in the slightest filling. The sushi portions were more suited to one person and the sweet section was mediocre and we finished it all within 10 minutes. We had to order an extra Cali roll off the main menu as we didn't feel it was enough. Service was mixed - staff were friendly but they all basically forgot about us several times. At one point I was turned from my chair trying to get their attention for what felt like a good five minutes, I shouted excuse me across a table to one and was not heard and they served/cleared other tables around us but had no awareness of us. So I ended up having to get up to grab someone (to ask for our tea again). I wouldn't mind if they were busy or short-staffed but they weren't. We got our tea well after we had finished our meal, with no apology. And they forgot to bring our bill so we got up again and paid at the till. The same waitress we had asked for it rung the register and didn't seem to appear to have any recollection that we'd asked for it. We probably could have walked out without paying as the staff, were there, but seem to be daydreaming. They took the money without showing the bill and admittedly we could have asked but you don't expect to need to check in a place like this and for a fixed price afternoon tea - anyway, it meant we were charged a 10% service charge for a routine afternoon tea for two on a quiet afternoon which we were ignored for most of the time, so this was really disappointing. Especially as it was for my birthday - I'm not someone who looks for special treatment but basic service levels would have been nice, for a bill that came to £90 lunch for two. My friend paid and I hadn't realised this until after we left as I would have asked them to take the service charge off... And there is also the awkwardness of making a fuss when my friend is trying to treat me. Having said this, the sushi was lovely and overall vibe was good, so I would probably go here again but I wouldn't recommend the afternoon tea or expect any real attentiveness from the staff. Also, reading some of the other lower rated reviews, the responses/mannerism from KIBOU management are concerning, so it doesn't look like giving feedback gets you anywhere...

**Review for Kibou:** I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Kibou that I feel compelled to share. We were informed that our reservation was for 8:10 PM, and despite traveling from a distance, we arrived at 8:15 PM. Upon arrival, a male worker at the front door refused us entry, claiming that we were five minutes late and that the kitchen was closed—even though their website clearly states they are open until 10 PM. As we tried to explain our situation, the manager abruptly interrupted, told us to leave, and made a shocking statement about having "enough of our people," which felt overtly racist. To make matters worse, she refused to provide her name and even called the police on us. This experience left a sour taste in our mouths, not just because of the poor customer service, but also due to the unacceptable behavior exhibited by the management. I cannot recommend Kibou based on this experience. Save your time and money and look for a restaurant that values its customers.

Delicious food with many options to pick from. The customer service was exceptional; the staff went above and beyond by providing me with a vase for my flowers. Overall, Kibou is a good choice for anyone looking for great food and outstanding service. I highly recommend it!

Visité Kibou en Solihull después de escuchar tantas cosas buenas de familiares y amigos, ¡es seguro decir que NO me decepcionó! ¡Como amante del sushi y los mariscos estaba en mi elemento! Una selección tan grande de suculento sushi y otros platos tradicionales japoneses, esta fue mi primera visita y estaba tan consentido para la elección que tuve que conseguir algunos platos / platos. He adjuntado algunas imágenes a continuación e increíble es una eufemismo! No era solo la comida lo que era genial, era el personal también, muy atento, muy bien informado y siempre feliz de ayudar / explicar algo si no estaba seguro. Muy contento con la comida y muy contento con el servicio... 5 ⭐️👏

I visit this restaurant regularly, it is a fantastic place to meet with friends and for date night. The atmosphere and decoration is cosy and unique. The food is unreal, it is so freshly made. On occasions the staff sometimes have been a little rude but the food makes up for it.

Mi pareja y yo queríamos salir a almorzar, y después de una fantástica primera visita decidimos volver. Disfrutamos del vuelo de sake 2 sakes y 2 licores de postre, el personal era atento y atento. Tomé el karage de pollo, trozos tiernos de muslo de pollo tempura con salsa de mayo picante. Mi compañero tenía coliflor dinamita, floretes adobados con una salsa picante y dulce tipo teriyaki. Para nuestra red, yo siendo un amante del sushi y tenía el plato de sushi, gunkan, inari, nigiri, sashimi, & maki. ¡Todo recién preparado y sabroso! Mi compañero tenía un tazón ligero y fresco lleno de sabores y texturas.

Went this evening for my wife’s birthday - this is arguably one of the best meals we have had in a long time! The service was excellent from start to finish - attentive without being stuffy, which is my favourite. Particular favourites were the crab bao bun, the scallop tataki and the wagyu nigiri! The chicken nanban and the chashu were unbelievably tasty too! Will definitely be coming again to try other bits on the menu.

Awesome Japanese experience! Great food, great staff. The restaurant is located near car parks and easy to access. Well decorated with a lot of taste. The food offering is complete there's a bit for everyone, fabulous drinks selection, Japanese sake, gins and whiskeys, great cocktails and all the classics beers and wines. We had a great time and we will visit again!
