Kesam Chippy in Kirklees

The food was amazing and unique. Very good prices too. The fish and chips were nicely spiced and their curry sauce was amazing.

Curry house masala fish can be light and fresh, but more often it's undermined by gloopy batter. Not at this roadside takeaway. This fish was dipped in chippy batter – conventional save for the dash of spice – then fried in beef dripping. The result: Crisp fish full of flavour. Great chips, too. Factor in proper curry sauce, great samosas and moist chicken kebabs and this little place is worth a detour.

Food is okay not really to my taste although the ice cream is amazingly good and the customer care is outstanding .

i have been smelling the dripping in the air from my office sine November. i resisted temptation until today. i was pulled in by the NEW sampling box! i expected tiny bites but the box was bursting. in £4.99 i had a samosa of my choice with my choice of curry or mushy peas, a kebab, masala fish, chips, 2 sauces and salad. i waited 5 minutes and watched them make it all from scratch in front of me. the masala fish is a revelation. kebab juicy and well spiced, samosa flaky and crisp. chips were like mini roast potatoes. even the yogurt was thick- these guys don't do things by half's. who'd have thought fish and chips could get hijacked by kebabs and samosas and they'd all live happily ever after- well here they do!!! yum!

I wasn't full of confidence when I read that the menu said halal. I like to think I know my way around Yorkshire fish and chips. I thought this would be another attempt at halal using vegetable oil that always produces anaemic results. I ordered for everyone at work. We had pretty much everything they sell on the Chippy part of their menu. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. It was hot, plentiful, well seasoned, crisp outer and moist, flaky within. Well done KeSam Chippy you're the first proper halal chippy where I've ever been fully satisfied. Next time I'm trying their kebabs and samosas and maybe a dessert. Highly recommended.
