Kerridge's Fish & Chips in Kensington and Chelsea

Food: The scallops were great, the fish was just okay, the chips could've been better. It felt a bit over-priced, even though it's in a fancy department store.. The atmosphere of the restaurant didn't really impress me either.. Experience: We walked in without a reservation, so we had to wait a bit, which is understandable since there are not many seats. The servers could've been more attentive. Overall, I think there are better places for fish and chips in London. Unfortunately, this was my only experience of it.

What can I say £37 for fish and chips?. The fish looked like it It was straight out of a Birdseye box of frozen fish from the supermarket very disappointing very dry. That was nothing like a chip shot batter.. it came with chips all eight of them. Certainly would not have them again certainly would not recommend them.. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask .

The food was good, but VERY overpriced... but what do you expect, it's Harrods.

Delicious fish and chips! The ratio of fish to batter is spot on, and the portion size is generous. The fish was soft, perfectly cooked, and not dry or rubbery. The chips — though there were only eight — were the thickest I’ve ever seen. They’re especially tasty when dipped in the sauces, which are absolutely delicious. The portion might look small at first glance, but it’s more than enough to fill one person. The kitchen is very clean, and the service is excellent. Seating is comfortable but quite limited. As for the prices — yes, it’s more expensive, but you’re in Harrods! It’s expected. Reviews should focus on the quality, not the cost in places like this.

During our recent visit to The Fish Bar at Harrods, we were warmly welcomed and promptly seated at a prime table. Opting for the day's special, we enjoyed haddock and scampi accompanied by triple-cooked chips; the meal was exceptional. Our experience was further enhanced by the attentive service from staff members Gabriel and Erika, who ensured all our needs were met with utmost care. The food was delightful, and we look forward to returning more frequently. The establishment truly upholds Harrods' esteemed standards. Kudos to the team, and our sincere thanks. Only disappointment is the cover charge of £2.00 per person in addition to the service charge, cheeky and greedy!

Very overpriced, and not very good.

Had a bit of fun doing a ‘Fish Friday’ on Good Friday here. We knew the prices going in and chose it for the experience, and it delivered. My partner is gluten intolerant, and eating out usually involves lots of research or settling for less-good. Here, they use the same gluten-free batter for everyone, which struck me as quite bold. I never order gluten-free anything, but was genuinely curious to try it out and I was impressed. The batter was thin and crispy, held up well under lemon juice, vinegar and sauce, and wasn’t greasy at all. I know batter is a personal thing, some like it light and fluffy, but this version worked great for me. The three sauces that accompanied the fish & chips were good (note that only the tartar sauce is GF) but probably too subtle for my taste. I would’ve preferred the flavours to be more pronounced and distinctive, i.e., more zing in the tartar sauce and stronger curry flavour from the curry sauce. We ordered two fish and chips (one swapped for baby potatoes), plus the caviar and chips and a side of minted peas. At first glance, the plates didn’t look especially full - if you start counting the chips, there aren’t that many, but they’re cut extra thick and was really filling; we ended up leaving a few behind. Service was excellent, dishes arrived with pace, and the whole experience felt relaxed and enjoyable (that is until you get up and see the throngs of people trying to get into the dining hall). I recommend making reservations. A memorable treat, and a win for anyone looking for gluten-free options that don’t compromise on taste and quality.

You would expect when you are dining @ Harrods the food would be top class unfortunately this can’t be said for KERRIDGE’S Fish and Chips . The batter was gluten free which I understand but it was the worst battered fish I have eaten in a long time. The batter tastes like any of the gluten free batter mixes from the supermarket. The curry sauce was average as were the puree peas and this was all for 37 pounds. I had fish and chips from John Long’s chipper in BELFAST last week and for 11 pounds got fresh battered Haddock chips and curry sauce which was delicious.

Big shout out to Laszlo for such a lovely service we really enjoyed our experience there. The food was lovely but for us the service was excellent and wanted to acknowledge this from the Welsh couple xx

Staff were fantastic, but the food was appalling. I would have felt ripped off if I had paid £8, but this high end price for so few chips and a fish in batter worse than most supermarket bought options. I expected more and got below average.

Bloody awful. Worst fish and chips I've ever had. I've had fish and chips in American airports that was better than this. And for that price - nearly £40! Daylight robbery. Absolute rubbish.

A beautiful building & environment. Sadly, the food is absolutely rubbish. This is nothing more than a tourist trap, any chippy in London will give you far more chips, a far more flavourful fish, and it won't cost you nearly £40 for a meal. Avoid at all costs, I can't believe how bad value this is, a poor fish with around 8 chips, which even they didn't taste all that great!

Unbelieveably overpriced and pathetic food!

Atmosphere is lacking and somewhat clinical. Staff are polite and kind. Food is atrocious. 8 chips with a piece of dry soulless fish. Sauces shouldn't make the meal, they should compliment it. Sadly, if it wasn't for the sauces, I would have returned this plate of woefully cooked, poorly treated fish. Celebrity chefs can never seem to get this type of dinning experience right. Its a joke.

This place is an absolute disaster. £37 for fish and chips that can only be considered a pure insult to British cuisine. Just because it's inside Harrod's does NOT mean it's good - as in this case, I've had far better fish and chips from places that cost a small fraction of what this poor excuse cost!

Great experience...fish was not greasy, nice and crispy yet moist. Sauces were delicious, and curry fries were a bonus. Staff was friendly and attentive. Great service. You pay for eating in Harrods, but well worth the experience.

Booked for a special occasion in March 2025, served by Gabriel. Given the prime table, with fantastic seating and view of the entire restaurant. Fantastic experience.

Overall very average in terms of food and drinks. Yes it is expensive for what you pay but nevertheless, I went with friends to try it out. Not disappointed and not overly excited to have been. But service was above average and I felt very welcome.

Tom Kerridge claims he doesn’t have any influence on setting the prices (despite the restaurant being in his literal name), and that his only role in this is to provide the quality of ingredients (which is LOW quality it seems, as the fish is clearly from frozen)… This place is clearly tomfoolery, and also intended to only be a TOURIST TRAP.

Took a while to get a table, reserved. Crap fish and chips, I'm from Yorkshire. Paid £36 for what was awful. Didn't eat it all. Nice place, lovely staff, crap food. Certainly these fish and chips don't make the top 100 best fish and chips in the UK. Avoid disappointment and go find a 'harry Ramsdens'.

We made our reservation online on the day of our visit, and everything worked smoothly. The food was good, though slightly overpriced. The atmosphere was fantastic, making it an enjoyable.

Special thanks to Gabriel who was welcoming and advised us very well, his trait is very lovely, he had a thoughtful and attentive service. One of the best fish n chips of the city

While the ambiance was pleasant, the food, unfortunately, did not live up to the hype or the price tag. The fish and chips were disappointing, falling short of expectations. The only redeeming dish was the fish soup, which was quite enjoyable. Overall, a rather underwhelming experience. A standard fish and chip shop would likely offer a more satisfying and a better value meal.

Fish very bland no taste “NOT FRESH” staff tried to ask if we wanted mashed peas which usually come with fish and chips had additional charge. For the price of fish and chips could have been included. Would not recommend any other fish and chips would be 10 times better

If you're going to serve the smallest portion of fish and chips for a top notch price then you'd expect top notch food. I honestly prefer quality over quantity but this just missed the mark by so far. You need to have a good hard look at yourselves at refelct on the garbage you are serving at that price.

I should have known this wasn't the best dining experience in the food hall as it was the only section with empty seats. Very pricey and would not make the top 20 in fish and chips in London. People mention the great atmosphere and that's what you are paying for, what a load of rubbish. You are paying for top quality food not a feeling. Batter on the fish was terrible, not Crispy at all , lacklustre and not a good sight.

I can see this closing soon. Not up to standard for a Kerridge eatery. Batter was wrapped around the fish like a a soggy sock, accompanying sauces lacked flavour, mushy pea sauce? it was a greenish colour which made me think it was mushy peas but no pea taste or even mint which is sometimes added. When you go to a traditional chippy you get alot more than half a dozen chips. At a £141 pounds for three people it was a total disappointment.

We enjoyed a delicious fish and chips, certainly a little expensive but the place wants that too! Special mention for one of the members of the indoor team who was a real favorite and who gave us an excellent time. Of Italian origin, he also had very good French and made us completely comfortable by communicating in our language! Rarely kind and professional. Thank you!!

The food is good, but over priced. But the service is very good. And the atmosphere is excellent. Remember, you are paying for the atmosphere here beyond just the food.

Food was dreadful, you can honestly get a huge fish and chips from your local 5 times over compared to one overpriced meal here. The fish was wet, it leaked water all over the plate. I got 8 chips, tasteless. Tiny portion of Sauces. The price was astronomical for a massive dissapointment. Left hungry and poor.

“Grilled” shrimp roll didn’t have any grilled taste, just plain boiled shrimp. It also lacked taste unless you spread tartare sauce on it. They charged service charge plus cover charge (we didn’t get anything extra, just a ripe off). Many different waiters involved in service. Fish and chips didn’t have a wow factor.

Do not come here. There was nothing about this to justify the insane price. A whopping 9 chips in my portion, were they good? No, not really, not bad at best. Don't mind paying a bit more for quality food. This was mediocre and disgustingly overpriced.

The chips were good, but the fish was just average. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. We ate on a Sunday at 5 PM, an hour before closing, and the staff made us feel rushed and unwelcome. The service felt hurried, as if they were more focused on closing than ensuring we had a pleasant experience. Overall, it was a letdown.

I had a very disappointing experience at Kerridge’s Fish and Chips. Not only was the food subpar, but I also discovered a screw bolt in the vinegar bottle! This is a serious health hazard and completely unacceptable. It shows a lack of attention to detail and care for customer safety. I expected much better and will not be returning.

Not worth £40 (like most things in Harrod's): fish was dry and unseasoned, batter was tough. Chips were below average. You'll have a better quality and taste fish'n'chips at "Fish!" restaurant in Borough Market. Not sure if Tom Kerridge did a quality check. Service was good though. Expect a little bit of a wait. Generally the idea of a food court with different restaurants in the same hall is excellent.

Great fish & chips, with a very light, well-seasoned, and crispy batter. You can tell the fish is very fresh and the fries are thick, plump, and taste great. The service is excellent as well. My one compliant -- not enough food! Very small portions! I was still quite hungry after devouring my entire portion. To satiate my hunger, I literally went to another restaurant right after visiting Kerridge's! Admittedly, I come from the US where the portions are usually massive...

Came to try their famous fish & chips and it did not disappoint! The fish was crispy and i loved the variety of sauces they provided with the food. The tartar sauce was the best! The atmosphere was really nice too! And the service was top notch! There was a bit of a wait because we had a big table, but they do take reservations if you call ahead of time.

Decided to splurge on expensive fish and chips (especially since the batter is gluten-free). Had the haddock and chips. Absolutely the WORST fish and chips I have ever eaten (and I lived in London for years). Batter was soggy and tough - consistency of leather. No way to get a bite without sawing through it with a knife. Is really the quality of restaurant we expect in Harrod's? Terrible.

Visited for dinner 1 hour before Harrod's closing at 9 pm. Waiter rushed us for our order. The fish from the fish and chips was decent, but the fries/chips were too hard. I understand nobody likes soggy fries, but this cooking method goes overboard. Also there is a 12.5% service charge added to the bill, on top of the ₤3 cover charge!

They chef grabs the potato and fish w his bare hands, then wipes his hands on his shirt, then the food again. Not sanitary

It is good if you like to eat fried fish “fillet” with potatoes and the restaurant’s special sauce “mayonnaise”, and you can try fried squid with pieces of toast and butter. Of course, there is no comparison to the taste we have with cumin and red... Etc 😀

Way under expectation, not ok for that price.

Excluding the price I was expecting much more. More substantial portions together with a fresher taste and better fries. Was sadly a let down.

If you want to spend £50 on fish and chips that doesn't even fill you up then come here, or instead go to one of the many chippys around and get roughly the same quality but bigger portions for £15

Iconic Michelin level fish and chips... an experience...

Gotta come eat at one of the most iconic shopping central: Harrods. Fishing and chip was lightly battered with a golden touch. The taste was light and not too heavy, especially when you eat it with the curry sauce it was delightful. But of course it going to be on the pricier side: £37.

Have tried 3 times now : 1.Went there a few months ago and brilliant experience. Fish nice and thick, batter not greasy etc.... 2. Fish thin, and not much of it. More batter than Fish. Nothing special and was like a local.chippy. 3. Fish very thin. More batter than Fish again. Quite greasy. Not as good as the local fish shop. Very disappointed. In all 3 experiences the sauces were fine. Although I think the tartar worked wonders on my digestive system. Also tried the bread, and prawn cocktail. Nothing to remember or write home about. All in all I think I will give it a miss from now on. We pay good money, but the product does not live up to it. You have been warned.

The atmosphere of the location is wonderful. And even though the table was reserved they arranged it so that we could enjoy. It is just worth to eat here to experience the space. Our waiter Gabriel was very attentive, friendly and kind which completed the experience for us and fits with a restaurant within Harrods. We enjoyed our fish and chips and our 9 y.o son loved his fish burger as well. Perhaps its not cheap (which shouldn’t be surprising) but definitely it was the most classy Fish and chips we ever had! Went for a treat - Dissapointed ! Had the Dover sole, at £52 far too expensive. Ordered a side of new potatoes, £9-50 They did not taste fresh, I complained and they were taken off the bill. My friend had fish of the day ,Haddock , very tasty, chips and sauces very nice. But at £37 a bit too pricey. Would not go again!

My wife and I had an excellent lunch today, served by Aramdeep. She was a very attentive waitress and made our visit very enjoyable. I can highly recommend the duck confit.

You know why you are coming here . First you want to eat at Harrods then for food . The fish & chips is nicely presented and it’s a large portion . The lobster grilled is tasty and well prepared as well . The minted green peas were tasty too . The atmosphere is dark and a bit noisy but it’s why also you are sitting there to eat

Food was tasty BUT in that place felt claustrophobic. Very cramped and dark. Most annoying was the entertainment. I don’t want to be disrespectful to the lady who was singing because she had a lovely voice but I think it was the speaker or audio quality I just don’t know. She sounded very loud. Sitting across a small table I couldn’t hear my friend. We both left with a headache. Food was nice but will not come back until maybe just a nice background music, some jazz or anything but what we had on Thursday night… Desert menu wasn’t offered. Had to ask for one although service overall really good. Very polite and friendly staff.

Located in food hall sharing with few other restaurants. Came here wanting to try the grilled scallops but unfortunately they didn’t have it. Fish and chips is big portion and fish is made with gluten free batter, chips are very chunky outside is crispy inside is soft. Cavier and creme fraiche was nice however too much fries we didn’t manage to finish. Fish soup felt very homemade

I wouldn't return in a hurry. Food was nice but definitely not worth the price. Ordered the fish and chips which was very average. Also ordered the monkfish and lentil curry which was tastier. Service was pretty poor throughout. Our waitress was very rude and blunt. When we asked what the desserts were, she didn't even bring us a menu. She just listed a few things off in a very bored and monotonous voice. Wouldn't advise eating here, it's not worth it.

Great place. The service was super respectful and attentive, difficult to find these days. Great environment and the best fish and chips that I have had since I arrived to London some months ago. We came with an offer through the Fork and price/quality was good.

Really disappointed that the major issue was the hygiene standards and quality of preparation I saw in front of me. No gloves, no cleaning down or hand washing of any sort, cross contamination everywhere and staff openly having a heated discussion about something. Food was ok but not worth the money at all

I love deep fried scallop, Caesar salad, Chips and carviar.

Such a rip-off. Yes, it’s Harrods. Yes, it’s in Central London. Yes it’s a celebrity chef’s restaurant but it’s just not worth it. Tourists who want an authentic fish and chips - take the tube 30 minutes out of central and wander into the first place that sells it. I guarantee you what they serve will be just as authentic and you will have the satisfaction of paying 3-4x less.

Nearly £40 for wafer-thin fish in a bland batter and 8 chips in a portion! This is disgraceful. If you want fish and chips, go to your nearest chippy and you'll get one under a tenner.

Took my girlfriend here for what I thought would be the mack daddy of Fish n Chips but was left extremely disappointed. The actual place and service wasn't bad but the food itself was a massive let down. Stopped at our local fish n chips on the way home as we were still hungry and it was a thousand times better and properly priced! Just because some famous chef owns the place doesn't mean it will be good because it simply isn't. I could be a billionaire and I'd still rather get it from local.

Food portion is a disgrace. I'd of been better off with birds eye fish fingers and some potatoes dinosaurs, it's just basic no different or better tasting than a local chippy. And the portion is about the fifth less of size. This guys taking the piss, simple as that

Don’t be fooled by the lemon slice in muslin or the eight chips in a cup. The fish is wafer thin, but line-caught using traditional fishing methods by fishermen. The potatoes are nothing special, but apparently individually cut by a chef, triple fried, but the flavour is nowhere to be found. The "Pease" pudding actually looks like baby food, mushy peas would have been a better choice. This mediocre meal is not worth the Harrods brand or the celebrity chef’s name. The only thing high-end here is the ambience and the surroundings. Unless you’re a pretentious snob who only cares about the location and selfies, you’ll be better off eating somewhere else. This place is not for food lovers, but for show-offs who want to brag about their expensive meals. You risk leaving hungry and broke, after paying £37 plus a 12.5% service charge (service was ok) for market day haddock!

Yes, it’s Harrods and of course you don’t mind paying extra, however x3 the amount of my local restaurant is just far too much. The fish wasn’t that big and the chips nothing special. Wouldn’t recommend.

Absolutely ridiculous prices, tom has definitely let his success go to his head, the haddock was paper fin and you got 9 chips for 37 quid, pompous and greedy, would definitely not recommend this dump, would rather eat rat poison than pay his ludicrous prices.
