Kebabish of Oban in Argyll & Bute

Through ordering delivery takes a fair time to arrive.... Live 4 mins away driving, but currently at 1.45hr and still waiting! Phone isn't connecting to them either...

I would say this is your average take away, not the best but for the price it’s not bad. Had burger and chips with korma sauce, I would suggest a pot of sauce rather than on chips as it made them soggy by the time I got home. Possibly better having there main cuisine of curry if picking this place?

So.. last time I was in Oban we had a Chicken Korma Calzone. So took the family back this time. Ordered more things for the family order came to 40 odd pound, got home after a 30 min drive to get it and then 30 min back to find my Curry calzone was a nasty Donna meat Calzone.. hate donna meat it was very spicy as well so the kids woukdnt eat it. he actually read the order back to me and still got.it wrong that is the frustrating thing. Tasted awful. Terrible so a very disappointing trip there this time. It wasnt a patch on the last time at all. :( Unfortunatoy not worth the money at all which is sad as it was so good last year so wont be going back there now, also the garlic sauce was over watered down. Very poor , shame to be honest:(

Ordered Kebabish house special pizza, donner kebab, chicken tikka hogie, chicken tikka masala, pilau rice and garlic naan. I was amazed that they prepare food in very less time. It was so delicious. If you are in oban must try Kebabish of Oban. Highly recommended!

Was recommended a hot and kicking pizza by a customer who came out of Kebabish. Thanks to that guy (in a white car, possibly a fiesta ST) I really enjoyed a great pizza. Ignore the negative reviews these guys make a good munch.

On arriving the kebabbish has changed since I had last been here. Its looking now tired and dated , there is makeshift counters beside the window just screwed into the wall that rocks back and forward against the glass , one lady was wearing a mcdonalds apron which was bizarre, the staff looked missersble and unhappy and the waiting time was redicously long for what I ordered , no one was in to order only me and still took nearly an hour , food was okay but not worth value for money, this place used to be banging but it's lost its touch not great impressions being served by someone who looks like they really don't want to be there and even when waiting for your food they just looked miserable and moving around the kitchen very slowly

Worst kebab ever seen more salad on a caterpillars arse and a dribble of sauce, brother in law got barbecue chicken kebab made with tandoori chicken. About time border force paid them another visit

Never mind the woke reviews. Asked for a spicy chicken calzone. Guy trolled me if I wanted it authentic hot or white boy hot. Got the full bodied version. Even got asked as a full blooded Scotsman if I was a tourist. 10/10 puts hair on yer baws and the banter is braw.

The moaners don’t know what they are talking about with their little petty bullsh*t reviews. This takeaway is by far the best in Oban and always has been, it has been open for many years and is always busy. I have never been disappointed with anything that I have eaten from here and I am local and have ordered many takeaway meals from here over the years, pizzas, burgers, kebabs pakoras and curries are always on point. With this review I would wish to draw attention to curry especially. I hadn’t ordered a curry from here for at least 7 years but I had fond memories of the last time I did and decided to get one to see if they are still up to standard. I can happily report that the standard has been very well-maintained over the years, my curry, a Lamb Rogan Josh with coconut rice and garlic naan was absolutely incredible, probably the best I’ve had anywhere. The curry section on the menu is something of a hidden gem as I imagine most people who order takeaway from here probably get kebabs and pizzas etc but if this cure had been served to me in a high-end restaurant I would have left incredibly happy. The price is very reasonable (£20fot the curry, rice and bread) as the meal was big enough for two people despite being sold as one portion,essentially costing £10 for one substantial portion which is nothing in today’s economic climate and also compared to the other bland rip-off takeaways in Oban. I would also like to mention that the pizzas here are always very good and always have been. I order pizza from here quite regularly and I have never been dissatisfied.

Staff was friendly. The food cam a bit late understandably due to a lot of rush. However, the food was lovely and the man at the counter was very friendly.

Best food shop in the world in my opinion great staff and even better chicken wings. Also with chicken wings and burgers etc they are served with a free can of pepsi and fries!

I understand the name now. It’s kind of a kebab -ish. You get what you order -ish. The staff are nice -ish. Hate spice so asked for garlic sauce - got some sort of lava hot volcano sauce. Asked for salad - none when I opened it. Told the guy the order was mine and he argued it wasn’t - despite him saying 65 and me having 65 on my receipt. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Absolutely shocking service and quality. Stay well clear, ordered a chicken kebab and was given lamb. Attempted to return the food and was accused of eating it. Very aggressive people working there. Horrible experience in lovely Oban.

Ordered a delivery which never arrived called them several times over a 2 and a half hour period to be told it would be 10mins finally called to cancel the order and were told the driver had been and couldn't find the address and tried to call us. Total nonsense as we were both in and had no call, they then basically refused to refund us so we went to the app provider to get it sorted. Customer service is a joke they were rude and unapologetic can't say anything about the food as it never arrived.

Scam Restaurant ALERT! This place is neither Indian nor Pakistani. They serve sweet frozen onion tomato curry which tastes horrible. Avoid it.

2 Nd time we've ordered from there wait times are horrendous which has knock on effect with food after you put it back in oven foods actually ok but not the service you're expecting they continue to lie when you fone them aswell

Ordered a chicken donner and chips over the phone, went in to collect, was told to wait two minutes, and one of the staff members put MY FOOD in the microwave. Would not recommend will definitely not be back.

Got a large donner kebab and must say it was the worst I have ever got talk about stingy was not the word and for the price would not recommend at all

The worst takeaway I've had. Ordered the mixed kebab, without mushrooms and onions. Came with both which ruined the meal as all I could tase was onions. Naan breads were burnt. Ordered 3 waffles, on arrival we were told we could only have two as they had run out. They offered a Sundae to replace one of the waffles. Thinking they'd make it up to the equivalent of a waffle I accepted, only to recieve a load of whipped cream with bare minimum ice cream. Too top it off the strawberry banana waffle we recieved had no strawberry whatsoever and only 4 things slices of banana. The only recommending I would do is that you stay away from this place.

The world's worst kebab. No flavor on the meat. No sauce, bad veggies, not even something to eat when you've had 20 beers.

An Indian restaurant says the food is halal, but be careful when you check, they increase the prices, and you see two restaurants next to each other, one has a pizza next to it and a side is a Turkish restaurant, but it only accepts cash, and I have not tried it.

Hi all truck driver passing through area & bedding down for the night so lots of takeaways through life on the road 1st time in the area seems a busy place I ordered special calzone & mix kebab wrap I have a few words to say & I hope people take notice YUM YUM thank you very enjoyable hope owner or manager is proud of the place 👍

Bought a spicy mince pizza and chips. They must not be putting dates on their meets as I was sick tonight,never had problem before. But that's pretty bad, I knew a felt different.

This was a takeaway meal so this review does not reflect the dine in restaurant. Quiet time when I visited, no other customers. Service was quite quick but the staff were abrupt, hardly spoke. They came across as ignorant and disinterested. Food was not particularly nice or what I would say value for money.

We were a big group of 15, and the food was spectacular. The right amount of spice,and sweetness in every dish! Nabeel, our server was absolutely great went head over heels working us and 6 other families himself, Who is absolutely generous and gave us the best hospitality. Didn’t think our dinner would go this way tonight but Nabeel made it something to remember.

Sorry to say we have very very bad experience we been first time in oban and had very worst experience with this kababish branch is worst I ever seen got burn chapatti totally un cooked meat without spices Dall was very taste less and when I complained they start arranging and charge us like dubble price. We ordered garlic mayo chicken wraps with salads,instead we got spicy curry chicken wrap ,with barely any salads .I paid extra £1 for extra cheese,there was no cheese in it ,the chicken pieces had skin on it and the wrap was filled with full of chicken and overloaded with curry sauce,we waited an hour for our food and the whole thing landed in the bin .they also trying to avoid to refund me now and putting all the blame on the poor delivery guy .really a joke

I'm up from Glasgow for the night and was unfortunate enough to purchase a burger from here. I've been to many takeaways and this was by far and away the worst burger I've ever tasted. An absolute disgrace.

Popped in here for a couple of pizzas while shopping in Oban. Great quality and lovely guys serving the shop. Pizza ingredients were excellent with big, chunky veggies and meat - NOT the skinny wee portions you get from certain franchises that charge double the price. Will deff be back.

I wouldn’t normally leave a poor review but the meal we received tonight was not up to standard. We ordered garlic naan, received plain both of which were not cooked properly. Curry was oily and far to many onions. Even my poppadoms were burnt. I gave a 3 star for the rice and pakora which were nice.

Me and my fiancé ordered a pepporoni pizza, chicken tikka wrap and chicken tikka nachos, the pizza was burnt on top but the dough was raw and soggy, the meat on the tikka wrap was dry and reheated definitely not freshly cooked and was no salad, when arrived it was dropping in oil and the nachos were burnt and had no flavour. And our order took almost 2 hours to be delivered

Chips and curry sauce; Undercooked French fries and horrible lumpy curry sauce. Donner kebab; greasy (expected) but small amount of donner meat. Wouldn't recommend, staff weren't very friendly

Great halal food with friendly service. Food was cooked to perfection and tasted authentic. Wide variety of dishes available to cater to every taste. Very fresh too. The naan was cooked with soy milk as opposed to dairy and therefore suitable for vegans. Shows the level of care taken by the owners and staff.

Took 10 minutes before they even acknowledged I was standing there and then proceeded to charge me £9 for a double cheese burger with donner. I asked them why they charged me the extra for chips as I didn't want them and never ordered them, they told me that's how they ring through the donner meat. I thought it was a bit odd as they had a donner burger on their menu and even with chips, it was cheaper than £9. Waited outside as it was very crowded inside, and get given what I ordered and told that the chips were on the house. They obviously weren't as I had been outright charged for them. Won't ever be going back, they are pure thieves.

We ordered takeaway and it was delicious. Friendly guys on the phone too.

Ordered what I thought was going to be a double doner burger off the 'burger' menu. Waited 30 minutes and paid £9.50 (including another cheese burger). Drove 20 minutes back to where we're staying and opened the box to this?

Ordered ice cream and Tango ice blasts. Took 2 hours to arrive, and when they came, ice cream was melted. £7 for 5 scoops of ice cream, but looked like it was only 2. Total waste of money, would not recommend. If you're wanting decent ice cream and deserts, go to gelatoburger, cheaper too.

Ridiculous prices for tasteless food. Stuff is arogant and not paying attention also order was wrong and took long because they are busy talking in their language.

From the order being placed it took 1hour and 45 minutes to arrive cold, paid £5 for delivery as well, would no recommend, waste of money.

Arrived this afternoon at North Ledaig Caravan park. Beautiful location. Recommendation from Reception to try out Kebabish, Oban. Delicious food and no problem to deliver outside Oban.

Apsolutely rubbish. Ordered mixt kebab tiny portion for almost 7 pounds. And the meet is not kebab but some spicy chicken kubes and beef kubes doesn't even taste like kebab.

Really nice fresh food and well priced, highly recommend the pizza's, and the food is halal.

I visited Kebabish in Oban in August with my family. The food from this restaurant is top notch, authentic Asian style food and the customer service was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone travelling to Oban. Their food is also halal which is a massive added bonus.

Service was reasonable given the amount of customers and home delivery food going out but the Pizza quality was dire. Never again. Just avoid.

I Wish I could rate them zero but unfortunately there is no option for zero rating. 1. Over priced for a mediocre food 2. Very Rude 3. Telling people to wear face masks which is good but they are not wearing mask themself. 4. Charged us for carrier bag which no takeaway does, receipt does not reflect the prices.

Waited nearly an hour for 3 pizzas whilst watching dozens of customers arriving after I had ordered, receiving their pizzas before me. Turns out they had forgotten to finish my order. No explanation given and the arrogant guy running the place that night just plonked them on the counter in front of me turned and walked away and said ‘Yours’. I think these people need to learn manners and common decency. Pizzas were ok but the customer services non existent. Avoid.

Wanted to have a meal at the restaurant but it was closed at 8pm. So got take away. Food was good and authentic.

Paid £9 for a lamb shaslik naan kebab. To start, I was charged 5p for a plastic bag without even asking me if I want one (I only realized after looking at the receipt), and when given the food (which was strangely inside a pizza box) it was handed to me without a bag, and was given a strange look when demanded a bag. What's very strange is the fact that the government imposed bag charge covers only supermarkets, never seen a takeaway charge money for bags. When getting home and opening the box, I found quite a small portion of very dry pieces of lamb with some lettuce, on top of a huge naan bread. Although the flavour was nice, when I bit into it I almost lost my teeth because of how hard it was! The lamb has been clearly cooked in advance and only reheated once I ordered it! I should've figured that out, since it was given to me less than 5 mins after ordering. You can get a much better meal in Oban for this kind of money, better portions too. Complete tourist tip off! Will never return, only came here because the popular fish and chip shop nearby was closed due to it being the New Years day. From now on, whenever ordering takeaway I'll try the food first before leaving because if I had done so today I would've demanded a refund! Reviews don't lie, from my experience you can't usully expect much from a place that has a lower than 4 star average rating. And it this case, the worst thing is these people are simply not genuine. Taking advantage of the fact that they have very little competition in this small town. Never prioritize the speed of service over food quality!

Halloween night, so I appreciate they may be busier than usual, however my order of one curry, a nan and a waffle took over an hour. When the curry arrived I could barley stomach to taste the thing, it looked like baby poo! The taste was awful, lumpy and overly spiced..They got my waffle wrong too, the waffles are also rock solid.Take a look for yourself. Would not recommend.
