Karak Chaai in Manchester

A tea cup fell, leaving a mess on the table and on the floor. They offer a complimentary cup of tea and carefully clean the area. We were truly taken aback by their generosity. Thank you so much for your kindness 💝.

Good karak chai and amazing nihari

Waited 30 mins for a ferrero milkshake, 2 pink teas and a strawberry ice cream. The ferrero milkshake was watered down. One of the pink teas was a karak tea. Both were regular drinks when one was meant to be a large. The ice cream was initally given in a tub and not a cone. Many people ordered after us and got served well before. We were told 2 mins and 10 mins later had to ask again. Really poor service and will not be coming again.

Visited on a Saturday morning, so the place was empty. Orderd halwa puri and the Desi Breakfast. Food was ok, homemade paratha instead of Shana or cheaper alternative, So 👍 The chai though... mehhh. Avoid the cinnamon karak chai. Service was ok, standard Saturday morning subdued quiteness. But that was fine. Wanst expecting anything more. Pretty place which is ok for a drop-in snack.

The desi breakfast is my favourite with the masala saucy chips and karak chai. Staff always make my order just the way I love it and I go so regularly that they have memorised my personalised order. Always good food and great service. Best place for a delicious desi breakfast Alhamdulillah.

Reasonable place for chit chat on Wilmslow road

Just had a karak coffee. Wasn't happy with random people coming in asking for money and there was a strong stench of cannabis coming from kids smoking outside the door.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The tea is a significantly crappier version of chaiwala at the same price. And the service is abhorrent. Had to deal with a rude tall man who was disrespectful and muttering swear words. He should be fired as he seemed useless anyway. Would not bother visiting. Much better places about on wilmslow road anyway.

The food portion and taste is good, reasonable price

Pretty disappointing Karak chai… charged me £2.80 for a regular cup of PG tips and sweetener.

I went to Manchester branch for breakfast with family. A variety of options available for breakfast from English to traditional desi nashta. Reasonably priced and staff were friendly and professional.

I have been to many places around the world, seen some awesome presentation and all and I still find it amazing to see this place’s food presentation being so unique. Amazing food and presentation!

Me and my family came all the way from Glasgow and decided to try My Karak Chaai. The Karak Chaai was lovely and soothing as we were tired from travelling. The cakes are also delicious and I just wish we had more days so I could try more flavours!! (biscoff sponge cake was a little dry however we came in the evening, but tasted yummy regardless) the decoration is beautiful and the cutomer service was great. The place was packed and we were not surprised at all. Will definitely try again when we come to Manchester again inshallah 😋😋🙏🏻🙏🏻

Lovely open plan shop. Nice and spacious. Not claustrophobic. There's plenty of seating and amazing decor. Ordered 2x karak chai and 2x milk cake. All were fresh and tasted delicious. Tea was nice and hot, milk cake was so lovely. But only downside; they're a bit pricey. Paid almost £20 for my meal.

This place is absolutely amazing. The food quality is epic, and the prices are amazing. If you ever go to Manchester, this is the first place you need to go to for any meal. In my opinion this is the best chai place I have tried. I can't wait to go back again 😊

I found the Karak chai experience to be quite expensive, costing just under £20 for a pot of ming tea for two and two cakes. In my opinion, the cheesecake was decent, but the tea seemed to be no different from a regular tea bag steeped in hot water. The overall atmosphere was just average, similar to other establishments in Wilmslow, and the decor was typical of most shops. The staff members didn't have much time for conversation, although the setting was acceptable, and there was plenty of seating available. So, my advice is to consider the prices before visiting and keep in mind that there are other great options out there.

Service is kind of disappointing and the food is just OK.

Disappointed karak tea lacked spices and taste , very sugary. Biscofe cake slice taste stale to be honest it looked like a cosco cake that had been decprated With regards to customer services cistomers should always be informed of the price. Waste of money

We ordered our items and were asked if we are taking out or eating in, so we said eat in paid and nothing else was said, got our receipt sat down and saw there was a service charge of £2 added to our bill there was only 2 of us, I questioned why this was the answer was “I am serving you the food ” I was not happy about this because the server should be telling the customer about the charge, no where in the shop tells the customer about the service change !!!!!

I came here the other day and they just have added new items in the menu. I had mooli paratha and that was sooo soo delicious. Would definitely recommend to and come back again for sure.

We were a group of 12 and ordered a lot of food, aloo paratha (so goooood), full English, apna Nashta, lassi. The food was great and the two ladies that were working had provided great service and were friendly. We really enjoyed the alloo paratha and the kayak chai. We’d definitely be back the next time we ate in Manchester.everything was reasonably priced too.i wasn’t a huge fan of the full English and definitely preferred the other food

so i had a very lovely experience with a staff member i think her name was malaika , she greeted me and my family in a very friendly manner and made us feel very welcomed . she was very helpful aswell since we have young active children which she was very patient about. another way in which she was helpful is by recommending the best things on the menu for me and my family . will definitely come again and hope to see malaika again

Had a late breakfast and opted for halwa puri and it turned out to be one of the tastiest halwa puri I've ever had. It was very tasty and not oily at all. The service and attention was spot on too Would definitely recommend.

Great food, lovely service - gets a little uncomfortable if you're sat either under the aircon or nearer the open doorsin winter.

I came down on sunday with a couple of family members and received the best customer service from Malaika such a friendly girl she recommended the milkcake and teas which i loved - will definitely be returning for her 10/10 customer service

I was served by the lovely Malika this sunday, such an accommodating worker as she attended to each of my needs, the food was excellent but her service made everything an experience to remember!!

Had shami burger, best in town , also tried their fresh home made parathas10/10 , desi nashta , girl name Soudi become a good friend because her customer services is the best of all in there , i always come back for her and obviously food xxx samosa chaat 👍

I came at karak chai with my friends . We ordern nihari with 2 naan . The nihari was delicious and finger licking. I must recommend this to all : Rest the staff is so cooperative here . Thanks so much karak chai for the delicious food

I came today I order nihari and alloo prantha . The nihari was really great remind me of my hyderabadi nihari . Thanks to karak chai for giving us this Indian taste in Manchester.

We are extremely pleased with the staff members of the shop and the quality of the dessert. Sudabeh (the manager) was especially kind, friendly and generous! Would most definitely return again!!!

I went to drink a cup of chai. It was a real chai. Best one in Manchester. And i tried their milk cake. It was finger licking taste. Best food for best price.

I went there with my family, the tables were okay but the floor and washrooms were extremely dirty. The coffee and chocolate fudge cake were okay, the chai was amazing! The donuts were nice and warm. The milk cake unfortunately had gone bad and everyone could smell the foul odor as soon as lifting the lid so we swappedit with gulab jaman. Might not go back again.

Overall Excellent A young girl Miss Anishar, works at Karak Chai, Wilmslow Road Manchester. She was one girl show, excellent customer service from her, she managed the place all by herself, taking orders, keeping the place tidy, She was an amazing, cheerful overall excellent person and a great place to eat in or take out. I would highly recommend.

Worst customer service, guy at the till was so rude and not accommodating at all. Had to ask for extra charge on receipt was then told its £1.99 service charge to eat inside. Never going back disappointed

The entrance door always remain unnecessarily open so in winter it doesn’t stay warm inside. Please do something about it. Apart from this, food were amazing.

I was served by a worker called Anisha I think that’s her name. She was super friendly and polite, she also made sure our food was okay when we sat down and checked up on us. You have a very valued member of staff!

The service here is amazing. Anishar served me and she was very attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. The food was very nice. I recommend the karak chai and the milk cake.

Been in many times and the experience has been fine never anything really to write home about, but this visit left me very unhappy. My friend and I went for a couple hot chocolates and a cake to share. From the cake which was stale and not very nice we had a few sips of the hot chocolate and it was unbearable with the amount of sugar added. Going back to the counter I asked if the person making the drink had added extra sugar but she directed me to where the extra sugar packs were. I repeated what I said and she said it's Cadburys and it is what it is. I understand they are known for their karak chai but the basic hot chocolate shouldn't be hard and the cake seemed like it had been left out for a few days. Disappointed

Had a lovely brunch last week. Everything was good cooked perfectly. The hijabi girl working there was so sweet and attentive.

Went last Friday with a few friends had a good experience - the food was lovely -got the French toast and desi breakfast - both came really fast! The hijabi working there was really really nice - amazing customer service! Will deffo be coming again :)

The atmosphere here is quite nice. Plenty of seating and it doesn't feel claustrophobic in terms of the tables being too close to each other. I ordered a Mint Tea and was a bit disappointed with the fact that it was just a peppermint tea, not an Arabic mint tea, ie black tea with mint leaves and sugar. The tea was delivered without a stirrer or sugar sachets, so I had to ask for some. I received them speedily so that was alright, thank you Karak Chai staff! The takeaway drinks came in lovely cups with a beautiful design! My friend ordered a doughnut with white and dark chocolate sauce. She said it was quite warm but it felt like it was warmed up in a microwave, however tasted nice. Our friends ordered the Karak chai and they liked it very much!

Very expensive and poor quality cakes and tea.

I had the best experience at Karak Chai! The service was impeccable, and the food was delicious. The Lotus Biscoff cake, kinder bueno donuts, gulab jamun is one of the best deserts I’ve had! The Karak Chai was also a highlight! I'll definitely be returning for more. Highly recommended!

This Morning I and my friend noticed the lady was cleaning front of the shop when I enter to buy chai she stopped cleaning and start filling cups with dirty hands Unfortunately, they touch inside the cup without gloves with those dirty hands. After complaining to the lady she said we don’t touch the cup inside thats why we don’t wash our hands or wear gloves to fill the chai After paying them, I threw the tea outside.👎👎👎

Middlesbrough branch review here! What a great find! The range of food on the menu offers something for anyone, our granddaughter was happy with her halloumi while we tried a couple of interesting streetfood items. I’ll especially mention the Tikka Masalla paratha wrap - inspired! Don’t expect bland, I still have the deep taste of the spices in my mouth a couple of hours later. Amazing. A copy of the menu on display on the window May bring more in, we had the flyer so could see we would be finding something interesting. Will be back for sure as there was so much more to try.

We hosted an event here of about 40+ students and were served by Anisha and Malaika who did so amazingly for us, giving us the best experience by far!! Would really love to commend these girls for their patience and effort to see to us all and had such a great time! :))

This place is the reason I eat. Aunty Sadias masala chips and chilli paneer are my go to and I absolutely love it. Aunty Sadia needs a raise because she is amazing, absolutely splendid food

I always love coming here. The karakoram chai is always consistent and doughnuts are yummy. Staff are really good and it's a nice atmosphere. Very enjoyable.

Sadly I can not rate them higher due to a very poor karak chai. Karak is in the name so should be absolutely the best item on the menu. Didn't get to try anything else.

Decent tea and snacks place on Curry mile. Their masala tea is amazing. We also liked pani puri. Pav bhaji needed some butter and lime but apart from that we had an enjoyable experience. Service staff is very good too. Recommended place.

My friend and her mum took us to this place today. We ordered a few donuts & milkshakes to share. The donuts came which were nice, however the milkshakes came with bits of plastic inside them. When questioned about this the lady who made our milkshakes said straight away that she thought the blender was broken. We thought this was strange as she knew this straight away. Surely the woman who made the milkshakes must have seen bits of plastic when pouring them into the cup? We have had a refund but will definitely not be coming back to this place; I also do not recommend going here either.

What a horrible experience at the Wilmslow Road, Rusholme Branch! Staff are ignorant and don’t have a sense of urgency with anything. We ordered two Apna Breakfasts which took an age to receive! Had recently visited the Oldham branch (which was x10 better than this place) so was expecting fresh paratha to come with it like they served at Oldham, but oh no not here! To my disgust it was just two frozen Shana paratha- how lazy is that!! My omelet was also tiny compared to my friend’s omelet, how can they not make consistent omelets of the same size?! We also ordered a Bombay Sandwich and it was the worst example I’d ever seen or tried. The potato mix was disgusting and it was just full of sweet Chilli sauce and branston pickle- it was actually an insult to a Bombay sandwich and isn’t like any Indian Bombay sandwich I’ve ever tasted before. The karak chai was tasteless and just tasted like sugary milk, there was no masala in it whatsoever. Will never visit this branch again!

Do try aloo ka paratha and karak chai

Really disappointed with this chai shop Karak chai was very thick as if it’s been cooked for long time, don’t waste your money on gajar halwa as it taste really bad I gave them back and they were not even sorry for that. Please don’t waste your hard earn money on lemo pain as it taste very very bad Only thing we like was cheese cake and donuts

I ordered biryani yeserday it was so "khati" and chiken in it was overcooked, chiken in it was burned they not prepared it nicely , although karak chai was so nicely made i often tried karak chai for karak chai and stuff but the experience with biryani was not nice yesterday.

The paratha omelette wrap was delicious & great value too.. karak chai is one of the best we've had & this is the only place that has an unsweetened option - well done on this! Nice and spacious, comfortable place to sit and catch up with emails while enjoying your tea & and decent background music too. Best of all was the customer service.. something most other such places don't seem to care about! Nabila was really attentive & helpful, managed an entire shop full of customers alone, without stress or delay.

Ordered a Mango Laksa. It took 20 minutes to arrive. Several other people ordered after me and were served their drinks before me. And it wasn't worth the wait. Disappointing.

Just another Tea place. The milk cake was nothing to shout about and the Karak was ok. Place could do with a proper clean. Service was ok. We asked for something but they didn't have it.

Went to karak chai with my family yesterday morning for breakfast, with the rise of all the chai shops I’ve got to say, karak chai is killing it. From the 10/10 service provided by Malliaka and Anisha to the English and Desi breakfasts, Teas and the Milkcakes (recommended by Malliaka). Lovely food, good prices and great customer service, will be visiting again very soon. Definitely recommend!

With the current boom in the chai market, My Karak chai is definitely at the top of their game. Karak chai is their signature item on the menu and much better than others in the market. Food choices are good and they are tasty as well. We have tried Aalo paratha, Nutella paratha, channa Puri and my favourite authentic bun kebab. They all come on the top of the list for us. Definitely recommend My Karak chai.

Yesterday evening we went to Karak Chai in Middlesbrough, we've heard all the hype about it lately so ofcourse we also had to go and check it out.. Okay so there's hype, with very good reason. 👏 Let's start with the exterior, this new restaurant is where the banana leaf used to be at the bottom of Linthrope Road, it looks absolutely stunning outside and definitely stands out amongst the other buildings on the road. Immediately upon entering, we were acknowledged and welcomed in with a friendly and warm smile. We chose to sit right next to their cascading water display which is very spectacular to watch whilst dining. The whole decor is beautiful and modern and elegant! 'Maz' approached our table immediately and provided us with menus and made sure we knew where he was should we have any questions regarding the menu etc, he gave us the right amount of time to decide and was very helpful in answering our questions with regards to recommendations. The whole time he displayed a smile with very professional and friendly manners that we were very happy to be in his presence as new customers. We decided to get 'Karachi Biryani' which is a colourful spicy chicken and rice dish and we also got 'Chasi Karahi' which is a lightly spiced chicken curry with roti. We also tried the Chicken Tikka and Lamb Parata Rolls (but ate them before we took a picture lol). The food tasted as beautiful as it looked!! It arrived hot and was very aromatic and arrived in really good time, we thoroughly enjoyed it!! Maz ensured we were well attended to and didn't leave a stone unturned. His service was outstanding. We finished the food and a gentleman called Mohsin came over to ask if he could take the empty plates away and if we needed anything, to our suprise this was the brand owner of all 4 sites! He was super professional and super friendly, he had the most beautiful approach to his customers and even gave us his time in explaining his story to success and the story behind Karak Chai. We really appreciated this and appreciated his efforts with us as it was a very refreshing experience to be able to speak to the man behind the big brand himself! Overall 10/10 experience and we will definitely be back, the service was outstanding from all of the team and the food is definitely worth coming back for! Highly recommend 👌👏💯

Nice little Asian café. The pink tea is excellent, the cakes and sweet things are good if you like that sort of thing - I don't have a particularly sweet tooth. Basic but very clean, friendly staff. Happy to return next time I'm in Rusholme.

Average. Tea and cakes are ok, seating area is also usually clean and tidy. Food from the kitchen, nah. So much better on offer along this road, don’t get drawn in by the lights acting like a bunch of moths. 🤣 I’ve noticed unsafe practices from the staff at times but it hasn’t killed me yet. For example, they’ll sweep and mop, clean things down and then go and prepare your food and drinks without washing their hands but I’m sure that happens in a lot of places around the world.

Visted there for only desserts , after a meal at a nearby establishment. Very friendly, cheerful and welcoming staff, they actually said welcome.😁 The gajar halva was really tasty, not too sweet but just right, The ice cream and donuts were also good, the karak chai, was also good, just the right side of spicy, not overpowering. Definitely one to reccomend.
