Kaoglen Lodge Restaurant & Bar in Perth & Kinross

Fantastic - lovely location, friendly staff and excellent food at very reasonable prices. We were staying in one of the adjacent lodges for a long weekend break, and never expected there to be a restaurant. Had the steak pie which was immense - an enormous portion of melt in your mouth steak which very nearly beat me!

We stayed at the lodge hotel and went for lunch! Food delicious staff brilliant and dog friendly. So good we are going to return with family for another meal in the summer.

Had a lovely meal, steak pie for me and fish n chips for my. Husband. It really is a hidden gem. Highly recommend. And the views from the dining room are fantastic

We stayed at the Kaoglen Lodge Hotel and were really looking forward to dinner after seeing the reviews of this restaurant. Unfortunately it fell quite short of expectations. There's a lot to like here - the staff were all very friendly and welcoming, and the views are beautiful. The prices were also reasonable given the remote location. The food, however, was not great. My lasagne was watery and tasted like it had been microwaved, and my partner's fish was bland and underwhelming. The chef obviously has talent - my partner commented that her mashed potato was excellent and very nicely seasoned - and none of the food was offensively bad, but it sadly did feel like it had been phoned in a little. Maybe we just visited on an off-day, but I can't recommend this restaurant as we found it.

We were staying at Drumfork Estate for the weekend and fancied a meal out. We had seen this restaurant online and the reviews and menu looked good. It was only a ten minute drive from our accommodation. We booked in advanced and I'm glad we did as the restaurant is clearly very popular and filled up soon after we arrived. We had our dog with us but he had never been in a restaurant before but we wanted to try. The staff were very understanding and patient, brought him water and offered treats. I was really impressed with the staff at this point and that was even before we ate. I had the nan bruschetta to start followed by the ribs, others had the stroganoff and macaroni. Food came quickly and hot, plates looked good, good portions and everything was very tasty. Coffee's and Drambuie to end a very enjoyable meal. Overall we really enjoyed our experience at Kaoglen bar and restaurant. Location, staff, food and ambiance were all perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant and thank the staff for their patience and understanding with our nervous dog. We will be back!!

Fantastic lunch yesterday at Kaoglen restaurant. Food was excellent, staff were fantastic. Started with Brushetta followed by the Piri Piri chicken burger which was delicious, my wife had the carbonara and said it was one of the best she’s eaten. Fantastic views from the restaurant and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be back and can highly recommend

With our Canadian based family members we enjoyed the Special Hogmanay Dinner at this super restaurant last night, 31 December. The meal was, as usual, excellent. The service from the very busy staff was provided with a smile. Chef Giacomo found time to come out of the kitchen to wish us “Happy New Year”and chat briefly. The live music band was very, very good - especially Lead Guitar and the talented singer. Super evening!

Won a lovely 1 night stay at kaoglen lodges, we have been 3 times before and is honestly the most cosy and relaxing place! So clean and staff are lovely, thank you so much once again!!

First visit - we will definitely be back. Food was delicious. Brie & pate for starters. Spaghetti & lasagne for main …. I can honestly say the lasagne was one of the best I have tasted. Debbie was lovely. Cracking views of countryside and topped off by a wee deer wandering across the grass.

Dined here on the Friday and Saturday night of a recent 3 night stay with my partner in the Grand Suite lodge which is attached to the restaurant building. The interior and fittings etc are in keeping with those in the lodge and provide a very warm and homely feeling. The scenery outside is stunning and we were lucky enough to see a few deer frolicking in the distance one night. The restaurant allows guests to bring their dogs with them and even provides beds appropriate to their size and a bowl of water to keep them hydrated. The food was very nice with very generous portions. The sirloin steak I had one night was big, juicy and cooked to perfection and was accompanied with mixed vegetables and Lyonnaise potatoes which was a pleasant difference to chips that are usually served with steak. I would also really recommended the fish and chips. The only slight (constructive) criticism I have is that I was expecting the tempura prawns to have been battered in house rather than the ones you can buy frozen but they were still very nice and I finished the lot. Front of house staff were very welcoming, pleasant and attentive even though the Friday night was very busy. Overall, we had a great dining experience here on the two nights we visited and will definitely come back when we manage to stay in one of the adjacent lodges again.

We all enjoyed a delicious meal in an attractive setting, with friendly and efficient service. Afterwards we enjoyed very good coffee and malt whisky on the outdoor terrace while taking in the beautiful view. Highly recommend.

Amazing. These lovely people went above and beyond for our family when we were in a sticky situation. Such kindness is very hard to come by and we are so grateful. One of the best meals we have ever had

I recently booked a few days away in one of the lodges for my girlfriend's birthday, and we brought along our little dog. From start to finish, the experience was absolutely amazing! We enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant to celebrate her birthday. The two-course meal and drinks were fantastic, and the food was simply delicious. I had asked if I could bring a birthday cake to surprise her, and the lovely lady at the restaurant went above and beyond. After we finished our dinner, she brought out the cake with candles, played some birthday music, and totally surprised my girlfriend. It was such a thoughtful touch, and we are so grateful for it. The staff were incredibly nice and attentive. We had a beautiful table overlooking the valley, which added to the wonderful ambiance. I would recommend this place 100%! As for the lodge itself, all I can say is wow! I had booked the birthday package for my partner, and her reaction when she opened the door was priceless. We were greeted with happy birthday balloons, Prosecco on ice, chocolates, and rose petals. The lodge was not only lovely and spacious but also exceptionally clean. The hot tub was warm and clean, and the enclosed garden was perfect for our dog. Thank you for making our weekend so special. We will definitely be back to visit. Highly recommended!

1st visit as we were staying in a nearby log cabin, what a wonderful place, amazing friendly staff food and views, we would definitely recommend it, no negatives at all, a special thank you to the lovely little waitress who went out of her way to look after us, she’s a credit to you.

Another super evening at Giacometti and Debbie’s restaurant. The food was excellent, the service from the waitresses cheerful and efficient, the bill was very reasonable - and the view across the Glen, complete with a rainbow, was a bonus. A very memorable evening.
