We had soup and chicken, rice and peas with plantain. It was just what we needed after driving up from Manchester. Great portions and really tasty. Defo worth a visit

My absolutely favourite eating place in Leeds. Discovered it a few years ago. Lovely homely atmosphere, friendly and fab food!

Very very good. Exceptionally good food, affordable and a proper community hub. Had mutton curry with plenty of sides and extras, amoungst if not THE best I've had for sure.

It's not open on a Monday really. I made a booking on Quandoo and it was confirmed. We turned up and it was shut. It was dark with some people drinking inside. Can someone please change the opening times to say that it's not open on Mondays?

WORST JAMAICAN RESTAURANT EVER ,GO THERE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!Myself and my partner placed an order for curry goat /Rice Peas and Jerk Chicken /Rice Peas .We were asked almost 4 times what we wanted at interval ,we even asked if we could write it down but the old man said no . We received our order and drove home 19miles away .On getting home we open our order and saw pasta bake in Rice /peas and 2 Jerk chicken .Fine ,we ate the jerk chicken and disposed the stale Rice pea with pasta bake in the Bin .Worst take out experience ever!!!

I was greeted by a grumpy older gentleman who didn't appear very happy to answer questions about the menu. Served chicken that was pink inside and clearly hadn't been properly cooked. Never again!

Warm friendly environment, decent sized portions, you won't leave hungy and the food is delicious!

Best caring food place in leeds

Kalabash is great, especially if you want to sit down and relax in a good environment. Caribbean takeaways are generally quite rowdy and 'bantery'....Kalabash is quite reserved and attracts a slightly more refined customer. Parking isn't too bad also if you know the side streets.

The food is good, and the restaurant. Is very nice

Cute place. Seemed like it's a family run business and is frequented by family and friends of the owners which was nice. We ordered the jerk chicken and fried plantain & aubergine meals. I really loved the fried dumplings and the fried plantain, however we were a little disappointed overall as we thought there would be more flavour, but maybe we're used to westernised Caribbean food? Anyway for the price (5-6 pounds a plate) we were still very happy and we even got an extra side of salad that we weren't expecting. We also loved the Caribbean music playing here. We were head bobbing & toe tapping the whole time we were in there.

Salt fish and journey cake (Johnny cakes) take away very nice. Great for a quick lunch time treat.
