Popped in by chance one evening - so glad I did. Lovely friendly welcome despite it being busy (restaurant & takeaway). Food was fabulous - so tasty. Attentive service and good value. Authentic and varied menu

The Thai food was delicious and the service was good although the restaurant was fully booked and bursting with customers. The acoustics with the restaurant so full were not good and it was difficult to hear even amongst our group of 5.

It’s an ok Thai , not the best I’ve had .. service wise a bit so-so . By god , the drinks knocked up the price somewhat ( £8:75 for a Singha beer! ) a bit overloaded with potatoes in my yellow curry- and they were nearly not cooked enough… had to grab attention for the bill , which amounted to £40 per person with the one drink- cheaper to go to a decent pub tbf

So good! I'm still dreaming of the Volcano Chicken. Ate until I felt as if I was about to burst. Then ate again (dessert - Bangkok Bomb). Service was soooo friendly. Loveliest people. Can't wait to come back!

Undeniably the best and most authentic Thai restaurant I’ve eaten in the UK. As a Thai, it is painfully difficult to find a decent Thai restaurant in the country. Nevertheless, Thai food at this place is a perfect combination of the taste, spiciness, and fragrance. Highly recommended for those who are craving Thai cuisine.

Went to Kai for dinner last night, not really knowing anything about the restaurant but fancied some Thai food on a weekend visit to Royal Tunbridge Wells and what a great find. We were greeted with a warm welcome and had excellent, attentive and friendly service throughout the evening from all of the staff. The food was amazing. The Thai green curry was one of the best I have eaten, including those I have had in Thailand. Spicy to give it a bit of a kick but the delicious fragrant flavours of the curry were not overpowered. Served with lovely coconut rice and a delicious veggie and tofu pad Thai. The tempura vegetable and vegetable spring rolls were a great starter to the meal too. The food and service completely blew me and my partner away and if we are near, or in, Royal Tunbridge Wells again we will definitely be back. We loved it.

I came here for lunch with my friends. I had a vegetarian pad thai with fried tofu. It was o.k, but I prefer less sugar. The portion was large on mine, but I noticed my friend had soup noodles, although fancy presentation, not much noodles, I was told. There is some seating in the front of the restaurant. It's conveniently located across the train station.

Lovely food with good vegan options and the staff were very friendly and attentive even though it was super busy when I was there.

Fantastic, authentic, delicious Thai food served in a cosy relaxed setting. We ordered duck pancakes, chicken mussaman, green curry and chicken satay. Next time I’m having Thai street food now I know how good the food is. Best Thai food I’ve had in years! A+++

We were really sad when Sucheera Thai closed down, we had been going for years and loved the food and menu. We hadn't found a Thai in tunbridge wells that came close. We tried Kais kitchen, last Friday and were not disappointed, we had the volcano chicken, beef coriander, coconut rice and pork and prawn dumplings, they were absolutely delicious! When picking the food up, the staff were really friendly, I was worried about how I'd parked my car and they were really helpful, even offering to run the takeaway out to me if I pulled up. The restaurant seemed to have a great atmosphere, we are so happy to have found Kais kitchen and would recommend it to anyone considering visiting.

Amazing service, food and what not. Enjoyed dining at this place. I ordered Tofu Tord and Mushroom Tom Yum Soup both were excellent. Both were excellent. Complimentary prawn crackers were also provided. The manager and all staff members/waitresses are amazing. All smiling, attending you again and again to know if we are not liking the food due to any reason. Extra ordinary hospitality from the moment I entered the place till the end. Location wise also best as just opposite to Tunbridge Wells station. I would highly recommend this place and it's food to anyone. Wish could give more than 5 star rating. Actual minute details I have not even mentioned thinking those would appear extra and not matter for some people. But would suggest to go and have best experience here on your own.

Long walk back up to The Spa Hotel, but we'll worth it. Excellent food and service, with lots of friendly smiles. Their food is freshly cooked and generous. Order one main, one veg and one rice dish between two. Many doggie bags were seen leaving. They even gave me cake for my birthday. An excellent venue...and healthy!

Very efficient, helpful, caring and accommodating. The food is always delicious and very quick in being served. Would recommend a visit. The menu is quite extensive making it almost difficult to decide what to eat.

We have eaten many, many pad thais over the years and this is the best in Tunbridge Wells.

Partner took me here last night for valentines dinner. No effort in decorating for valentines. Food was tasty. Didn't get rice I requested but it was ok . The cocktails were to sweet tasted like out of a can. Next morning dicky tummy. Had to call in sick as I can't get of toilet. Artner is suffering same .Would avoid next time. Shame .

Great spot for authentic and delicious Thai food with an extensive menu, I had the Pad Kra Gai (basil & chili) was very fresh, clean flavour and they had a 'Thai Hot ' option for an unadulterated spice level which was perfect for me. Also the mint and chilli fried rice is an interesting side I'd not had before would recommend too

We were looking forward to coming to Kai’s for lunch after a long while. After having been visiting for many years and it’s always been top of our list in Tunbridge Wells, we were very dissatisfied with todays lunch. We did order the mussels as a way to try something different. They were really disappointing, lots of raw batter around three small mussels for £8.50p. The tempura prawns were good, but our mains were not up to the usual high standard. I hope this is a one off as we would like to return.

Lovely Thai food Friendly staff Highly Recommended

Due to a change in my work schedule, I haven’t had the opportunity to go to Kai’s Kitchen as frequently as I used to. A recent visit, after their protracted summer closure, made me wonder if there has been a change of ownership… The daughter of the owners, an omnipresent staff member, wasn’t there for the first time in decades. The papaya salad dressing was muted, completely different from the vibrant lime & savoury flavours of the previous version and the Penang curry lacked the lime leaf/ fish sauce highs that used to be such familiar flavours.

This place is absolutely amazing. The food here is delicious. Heartily recommend.

Found this place online a few weeks ago and had lunch there today. If you like beautiful, tasty, authentic Thai food, you must try this place if you haven't already. Highly recommended and delicious!

Great little hidden gem of Tunbridge Wells! The food is fantastic and decently priced. Lots of flavour and aromatics, but be aware, the food can be spicy! If you can't tolerate spice, let the staff know and they should be able to sort you out. I had the Jungle Curry and that thing was HOT, but delicious! Price wise? About £25 per head. Also, be sure to call and book. There's only room for about 30-odd covers and it's popular on most nights.

Lovely! Gorgeous food and lovely staff. The food is really authentic, with soooo much choice. It really reminded me of Thailand. Some really spicy dishes, which I love. We love going there as a family. Really reasonably priced too. Thanks!

Excellent food every time, the quality and quantity is perfect, staff very friendly and polite. The tables are a little small when you have 4 people at them, but this is because the restaurant isn't very large, but this doesn't take anything away from the food. Also they do take away, which I will try.

First time to Kai’s, and it won’t be the last. Took a chance and just turned up at 8pm on a Saturday, table found swiftly without fuss. Food was excellent, good sized portions and felt like good value. Large drinks selection to go with it. In fact it was so nice, we forgot to take any photos! Maybe next time!

A highly recommended Thai! It looks so unassuming from the outside and you could mistake it for a regular cafe, but it's a dinner you don't want to miss! Great selection of food options - meat, fish, and veggie, and a lovely atmosphere and friendly atmosphere.

Absolutely delicious. Walked in at peak time as a group of 11 with no booking on the off chance, and we were graciously accommodated. Good service, minimal wait times despite our group size and delicious food. Highly recommend!

Oh lordy! What can I say? This place was perfection! We were stumbling around Tunbridge Wells trying to find somewhere to eat, when we walked passed Kai's and noticed how busy it was. Thankfully they had a table spare. Everything was top notch! From a veggie perspective, I've never tasted better cooked and seasoned tofu and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. The service also gets a massive A*! Totally loved everything about it and can't wait to come back.

We had a lovely panang curry here, and the bbq ribs were delicious as well! Will be back.

This is a great place, the food is mouth watering, the service is great and it's well worth the walk from the town centre. The food I had was bursting with colour and flavour, the calamari was exceptional, the phad Thai was gorgeous and the phad preaw wan (basically a better sweet and sour chicken) was unbelievably tasty. Love this place!

Nestled on the main hill Upto the shopping centre from the train station this little place offers a varied tai menu. We managed to get a table without booking on what clearly was a busy Friday night. Staff were initially attentive and keen to get us seated but did take a little while to take our order. We put this down to being so busy. StFf were friendly and happy to suggest additions to to your menu choices. Food was quickly served, came hot and packed full of flavour. Good portion sizes and lots of options. The only thing was that if sat near the door, there’s a regular flow of delivery drivers opened the door so the chill from outside does make the legs cold. Also we ordered single rums and we’re given doubles, of course we were charged for doubles so worth keeping an eye on. Overall it’s 5 starts purely down to the food. An excellent choice for a night out or a quick bite (or even takeaway)

Very small and cute cafe on the high street right opposite Tunbridge Wells train station. It was a very busy night, the staff were so busy and understandably it was a Friday night. The food was ok, not great and not the best Thai food I have had...just ok The Kai special rice tasted and looked like paella to me 😅 appreciate them ensuring no eggs was added. Pudding wasn't great either, the sticky toffee pudding and ice cream hhmmnnn I would give a 6/10 Overall it you are looking for a quick grab and bite, then I would recommend 👍🏼 There was only one prawn in the entire dish. Very large portion though. The starter was superb freshly made chicken gyoza...so yummy 🤤 Not sure I saw parking around except the train station drop offs...buses on route.

For some reason only known to Google, this showed up as “Indian restaurant” on Maps so went in. We soon discovered it was a Thai restaurant but were too hungry to change. The staff were friendly, the food was interesting but expensive. My wife didn’t want to finish her choice and it cost money to box it up to takeaway. Overall, not bad but that will be our only visit.

Great food and service, regular retuning customer, have always had a fantastic time there. Menu is varied but not bloated and the quality is always excellent.

This staff are friendly and food is nice but not authentic (tempura was actually panko breadcrumbs for example). They also don't seem to have a Thai lunch menu which seems like massively missing a trick... You can order an egg mayo sandwich for lunch though which is probably what you're after if you choose a Thai restaurant ...

relaxed vibe, good comfort thai food. ordered a pad thai, and pink seafood noodle soup. Happy with the choices and portion size was generous 👍 fried squid was amazinggggg, would have had dessert too but we were too full and in a rush, but they looked really rich and tempting Flavours were nice, not the most groundbreaking thai I've ever had but definitely hits the spot - probably catered to the more english palette of tunbridge wells(!) service was very friendly too, you have to go down some curved stairs for the loos though - keep in mind for accessibility

Wow! My husband and I booked a table at this small but very busy thai restaurant for Saturday even. The food was incredible. My husband had the ribs as a starter and the meat was falling of the bone any really tasty. I had the gorgeous tempura vegetables and for our mains we had volcano chicken, green chicken curry... So good and tasty. We were really impressed with the hard working staff who were dashing around serving lots of happy customers. Highly recommend.

Came here for the first time in years hoping it was as good as I remembered. I was able to call ahead and book a table which was good. I was a bit worried as we sat in the back of the restaurant and there was a rather unpleasant smell hanging around (maybe sit closer to the door if you're going) but I was absolutely taken away by the quality of the food. It was everything I had hoped for and more. Vegan vegetable and tofu Thai green curry with sticky rice was INCREDIBLE! Best Thai food I have ever had. My friend had the beef noodle soup and said it was good too.

We came here for our first date night after the rules relaxing and allowing indoor dining. I've also had one takeaway from here previously. On this evening we got 2 starters, 2 mains and noodles. Everything was lovely, but not too tier. The noodles were pretty basic. The staff were all lovely

We have been on numerous occasions. The food is always excellent, authentic Thai cuisine. Service is good also. It is a lovely lunch place as the seating and decor are pretty basic. You go for the food not the glitzy surroundings.

First visit Saturday 24th. We had a range of starters ribs, chicken wings,crispy squid and the fish cakes. Each dish tasted absolutely beautiful. The staff were really lovely and friendly, well worth travelling to Tunbridge for. Cannot wait to go back.

Fantastic food! My usual at any Thai place is a fried fish - usually with chilli and garlic - and this place has one of the best I've had. Other than that, the drunken man noodles, the papaya salad and the green curry were all on point. Normal chilli is hot enough so don't ask for spicy, unless you've mind to burn your tongue.

Came here with my friend for her bday, just mentioned in passing that it was her birthday and the lovely wait staff brought us a special dessert!! On top of that the most authentic and delicious Thai I’ve ever been to! Can’t recommend enough!

However busy they are, they remain polite, cheerful and unhassled - we have a 'Kai's night' every week and it is always a highlight. Can thoroughly recommend!

We read good reviews about this restaurant and the staff were very attentive but we were disgusted after being served completely raw chicken! It was a chicken satay that my partner and I shared, after cutting it in half we discovered it was barely seared on the outside and completely raw. Unfortunately my partner did begin eating it but was able to spit it out before swallowing anything. Approach with extreme caution.

Being a Thai food fanatic I visited here last week whilst stopping in Tunbridge. The service was outstanding from the young waitress and the food was delicious. I went for the Pad Ka Prow with an extra fried egg and asked for it Thai Hot which it was. A delicious spicy meal just how I like it. Prices were fine for the quality of food. I would visit here again whilst in Tunbridge.

Had a pad king prawn take out. Extremely dissatisfied it was all noodles no sauce and only 4 prawns. Tastless and dry. I used to rate this place. l do not recommend it at all better thai at giggling squid. Avoid
