This was the beet Chinese take away that we've had in years! It was ready as promised, and was excellent. All so obviously freshly cooked with top quality ingredients. Won't hesitate to buy from Jumbo again. Brilliant!

We telephoned our order and asked to pick it up in 30 mins which was fine, when I arrived it was really busy, packed in fact. They were giving key fobs out with numbers and them shouting them, I have to say the orders were flying out, really well organised and my meal was ready to takeaway. The food (apart from the chips which strangely were really hard and not nice) was delicious. I would say one of the best curry sauces I have tasted. Loads of meat/prawns in the special foo Yung. I would definitely recommend apart from the chips

its ok very edible , not a stitch on my local Chinese. My family enjoyed there meals. If I wanted Chinese again in that are , I would go there again. Thats the important one really

As we’re not local, we’ve had other meals from other Chinese takeaways. Due to this, we can tell immediately that the food is bland. Special fried rice was almost tasteless, the spring rolls were okay, the BBQ ribs are sauceless, despite the person on the phone stating they had sauce and had no taste. Prawn toast was fine, but that’s about it. The salt and pepper chicken pieces again were okay, but far below our usual. Overall, if you’re used to your local Chinese, avoid this because you’ll be disappointed. Portions are good though and the staff, bar the wrong information about the ribs were friendly and speedy service.

I generally don't write reviews, but I had no choice. I ordered a Special Chow Mein and fried rice. I have never eaten anything so tasteless. Everything was bland. Even the rice tasted of nothing. How can you create a dish so full of potential flavours, but not one thing on the plate has any taste? There is no excuse for this. After checking other reviews, they mirrored mine, with complaints of the food being tasteless—a waste of £10. This will be the first and last time I order from this takeaway.

Great tasty food and value. Lots of phone orders and a que of people waiting to collect and order. Worth considering if in doubt, isn't open on a Tuesday.

First time there,so not sure the way they do things. I had sp.fri.rice,but saw no evidence of the fried bit...but liked it,crispy chilli beef was a hit,with noodles. Will go again,but ask questions first. May have chilli sauce seperate,so beef if crispy when I get home,that sort of thing. Chips were really nice. Its only a chippy,so atmos bit flat. Have been since,got crispy beef in seperate tub,worked a treat,wasstill crispy when I got home.

Sweet and Sour chicken balls not good, more like a 3 day old chicken nugget. Rice dish was ok just nothing special. Sorry I won’t be back

You want to like it, but it's just naff. Watery thin sauces made us throw away 80% of our order.

We never miss calling in here for our tea when in the area - I just love their food and usually go for sweet and sour chicken, though chicken and cashew nuts is equally favoured by us! Staff are friendly, efficient, the place is clean and tidy and the food is delicious! Thanks you Jumbo!

Excellent Chinese take away. No MSG used. Great menu, all delicious. Takes cash only (no card payments) but there is a cash machine a few doors down at the newsagents. Enjoy!

Excellent quality service very efficient

First time for us, enjoyed the food but perhaps the hot and sour soup although good was quite sweet.

The chicken fried rice was probably the worse I have ever had. The chicken was dumped on top of the rice which contained a few peas and no egg. The second dish a noodle option was better otherwise it would have been a 1 star rating. Poor by comparison to other Chinese takeaways and most of it went in the bin.

1st of all we were over charged by 1 meal, then when we got home the order was wrong, I ordered Szechuan chicken and got chicken curry.

I had (no) egg fried rice and black been chewy beef! Never had beef that hard. Gandhi’s Flip-Flops! I do like a good chinese but for this occasion I don’t recommend.

On holiday and we phoned for a takeaway. It was busy on a sunny August Friday evening. Food was great. Attached is the August 2021 menu.

Quick efficient service, reasonable prices an good portion sizes. Food was lovely an hot an tasty, not over seasoned either which was a pleasant change from some takeaways where the over riding flavour is salt. Recommended, thumbs up.

So disappointed ordered beef curry so wartery lacking any taste how can they get it so wrong.

Remember to take cash as no cards here. There is a cashpoint in the square though.

Good Chinese food from the Jumbo , always tastes good.

For some unknown reason, despite having lived in the area for 9 years, tonight is the first time I have ordered from Jumbos. I've been missing out! Friendly cheerful customer service (unlike a couple I could mention in Milnthorpe), really delicious nicely cooked food & very generous portions. Super-impressed and looking forward to returning.

Been going here for year's.. travelling from Kendal....always have special curry and boiled rice...always very very tasty...but tonight it was bloody awful...watery, tasteless, and to top it off i had to pick a staple out of my mouth as I was chewing. Won't be going again ! Just rang owner and he (unbelievably) admitted that this is not a staple but part of the metal scourer they use to clean out the woks...and get this....its quite a regular complaint..OMG...IS HE SERIOUS !!...In fairness to him I have been offered a FULL REFUND...

This outlet was generally very good. The staff were polite and efficient. The speed of service was more than acceptable. The range of dishes was more than ample, I think anyone would be hard pushed to not find a dish to their liking. Overall, good value for money. If I was to be critical of any part of my party's order, my father thought the Hot & Sour soup was a little watery.

Nice food. Missing parts of order. 3 of us had to share 1 fried rice as the stupid girl wrote our order down wrong. Then when we travelled the 8 mile home and phoned to querie it. It was like talking to a robot no clue what so ever... lesson learnt check ur order b4 u leave as u pay for what u dont get. So ull be hungry.

We have a Jumbo every few weeks as a treat. Prices are relatively good and there is plenty to choose from for most palates.

I used to love the food here but recently the curries have been very watery. Shame because they used to be full of flavour and it's the nearest Chinese takeaway to where I live. I can't speak for the other food on the menu but I will be going elsewhere in the future.
