Jo's Kitchen in East Lothian

Right from the get go Jo & Nicola were both so responsive with all queries and navigating our plans. They were a huge part of our day and we received so many comments about the best wedding food people had tasted. Just wish I could do it all over again and taste everything again!

Jo's Kitchen catered our wedding this summer and they were absolutely brilliant. The food was incredible (from the canapés, to the breakfast and late food) and the staff were so attentive and helpful. So many of our guests commented on how great both the food and the team were, and my wife genuinely shed a tear of delight at her first taste of the beef! Jo's Kitchen also helped us find a replacement ice cream company to serve dessert after our initial contractor pulled out last minute. In other words, Jo's Kitchen absolutely made our day and we couldn't recommend them enough.

It’s hard to put into words how grateful I am to Jo’s kitchen. It goes without saying that the food is out of this world - we had so many guests tell us the meal was outstanding! The staff are also just exceptional and went above and beyond. So much so that my parents even thought that one of the staff members was family! They took the time to learn names and familiarise themselves with guests, it was all just fantastic and I will absolutely work with Jo again one day (I just need to come up with an excuse). Jo and team catered our wedding earlier this summer and did a fantastic job. From start to finish they made everything super easy and really helped pulled the day together. The food was absolutely delicious and all our guests loved it. Matthew and his team on the day were extremely helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for any wedding or event!

Lovely little place, very friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed a great salad here and some great homemade cakes. Peach crumble cake, definitely a winner for me 😀. We'll be back, thank you!

It is so hard to pick a caterer for your wedding but I am so glad I found Jo's Kitchen and that we managed to get booked in for our special day! From the start Jo was lovely to deal with, the meal was delicious and we have had so many compliments from guests regarding the serving and bar staff that Jo provided. They paid special attention to us and to our family and nothing was too much to ask of them. Do not hesitate to book for your event!

Jo and her team catered our wedding this year and were simply incredible! During organising they went out of their way to supply a specific beer for us. There were some last minute changes the day before and on the day which they all handled without issue. All our guests have been commenting on how delicious all the canapés and meal was! There was plenty to go round too, no one was left hungry! Would definitely recommend!

Jo and her team have been incredible from start to finish. We got Married 2 weeks ago, ours guests said the canapes were the best they've ever had! The middle Eastern sharing platter was sensational. Jo's front of house team were faultless which made the day run smoothly, they were always on hand with big smiles, creating the perfect atmosphere throughout. Thank you so much for making our wedding so special and it would not have been the same without you.

Jo's kitchen recently catered our wedding. They were outstanding. From helping to get in tables, chairs, plates, glasses cutlery right through to the delicious food. The service couldn't have been better? Amazing, I highly recomend them.

We recently used Jo‘s kitchen for our wedding catering and I don’t even know where to start with how great they were. The food itself was delicious, we had several guests saying it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. Their relaxed attitude kept us calm on the day, the front of house team were truly amazing and so so friendly. The whole team presented themselves so well throughout the day, our guests loved them! We created some pretty difficult conditions for the team (we got married at the top of a hill with 150 guests!) but they were absolutely fab and gave great advise in the run up and on the day. Also one of our wedding party wasn’t well during the meal, so Jo saved her a portion to have the next day which was super sweet and very much appreciated. We couldn’t have done the day with you Jo and Team so truly thank you from us both and our families.

In my dealing with this company I've found them to be wholly unreliable and the owner somewhat lacking in personal presentation, which really put me off eating there. Fails to respond in a timely manner (when they do respond). Very disappointing indeed.

We had an absolutely first class Christmas Dinner delivered. It was delicious from the starter through to the dessert. Excellent value for money and very little washing up afterwards! Thank You.

Christmas lunch this year (2020) was by Jo's Kitchen and it was such a success. Thank you. No shopping to do, an unbelievably straightforward collection on Christmas Eve and delicious meals which we quickly heated on Christmas Day. We found ordering easy and would definitely do it again.

My family and I ordered from Jo's Kitchen recently as we were celebrating my Mum's birthday during lockdown. The process of ordering from Jo on her website was SUPER easy, not to mention the amazing amount of choice available on her menu. Every week. No idea how she does it! The beauty of ordering was that we were all able to have something different, something that took our fancy off the menu! As I was passing The Mart, I was able to collect from Jo although delivery wouldn't have been an issue. We thoroughly enjoyed our mexican chicken, haggis neeps & tatties, coconut salmon curry and lamb stew. Absolutely delicious — we won't hesitate to order again. What a treat, thank you Jo! xx

On holiday in the area and saw the reviews and thought looks good we'll give it a try. Very clean and nicely decorated. We were in about 7pm and had the place to ourselves for a while. The menu for me wasn't ideal as I'm a very plain eater. I asked could I just get a chicken burger but they didn't have any chicken left other than the one in the languini. Seriously??? So had to have it was nice but not my preference oily and very garlicky. My husband had fish which he thought came in batter but it didn't. He said it was lovely and presented to a high standard. Unfortunately for me too much like an a la carte meal. The prices reflected this as the two meals were £28. If you like a la carte I'd definitely recommend but not if you're a plain eater like me. Excellent service as well. .

We tried to book in the recently reopened Waterside but could get not a reservation. Because last time we tried to reserve a table at Jos we were unsuccessful I called and got the answering machine where I was invited to leave a request for a table. As we had not received a response by some minutes before our requested time we went round to Jos and got a table but it appeared the messages had not been listened to. I left my message just after 4pm on the 8th July. I am a bit dissappointed with the lack of reponse to my message. As usual the food was very good although in my opinion service has slipped a little.

Mediocre food and the only two of our party that had the muscles were ill for days. Avoid.

Food is homemade and quite good. I'd say though that it is overpriced. Great children menu and possibility to get smaller version of adult meals for kids. Very child friendly with colouring in, toys, games, Lego!
