Pub in the full sense of the word that is Jordy's Bar in Ballynahinch. Though it was overhead in general chit chat in the aforementioned premises as being referred to as Matt's ? Of its type this small bar in a middle sized town by Northern Ireland standards is spot on for the consumption of alcoholic beverages, that coupled to the regulars interacting it does what it says on the tin as one may articulate. Fast forward to the necessity of perhaps a male patron having to avail of the urinating facility ( a pub after all thus copious amounts of liquid can be consumed on occasion ). Not too pristine -------yes an up to date hand drying blower has been installed since our last visit a while back alas the hand soap aspect from a small plastic pump bottle (devoid of content at times) this in combination with a grubby sink and not fit for purpose 1960's style cold water tap complimented by the totally out of date Mickey Mouse wall mounted hot water gizmo, not just up to speed in a public bar type of pub in the year 2023 A.D. Regarding the requirement should a male customer need to pay a visit to a certain place for a comfort break. Then truly the internal size of the comfort cubicle is not fit for purpose.

Called in I would say first time this year. Dead on re the beverages it sells. Atmosphere spot on. Alas come that time to pay a visit to the gents toilet — not great. The urinal in poor condition that said you do not have to touch it.The hand washing aspect you do thus it requires being replaced with a new sink, press down water taps, robust wall mounted hand soap dispenser coupled to a 21st Century hand dryer.I peeked into the sit down aspect of a toilet visit.A rethink would not go amiss either with regard to its size,The proprietors need to see this most crucial room in a public house as it is now and should be.My other half availed of the ladies room and passed comment on it being in good order.

These premises both in actual layout and atmosphere ooze that of a working class watering hole with a touch of the chattering classes on board all interacting with banter. Jordy's is a family owned and operated set up. There is a dank outside yard for those hot days in which to down a couple of cold ones. The male ablution facilities are of another time ----yes open to the fresh air in the yard so healthy on that front BUT alas the hand washing / drying aspect are pure stone age by todays standards. The comfort cubicle would be of serviceable use for a 10/12 year old person re its dimensions.

Lovely locally sourced food with a beautiful tipi setting.🌟 Delicious juicy burger and yummy flatbread. Staff were friendly and totally spot on with their recommendations for both food and suggesting we walk around the lake after. 💚The atmosphere inside the tipi is buzzing. It's clear that the staff and management are passionate about the sourcing locally and being as organic as possible and very fresh produce. ☕🍰We loved it so much we came twice once for lunch and then back for a coffee and cake..... Chocolate and peanut butter cake and the brownies ..... Were to die for.... Wolfed them down so no photo. Highly recommend Fodder and can't wait to return next time we visit Northern Ireland. 💕

Just had a cortado. Very weak with very little coffee flavour. Also, staff should wash their hands after sneezing into them.

Blue Cedar is right in centre of Ballynahinch. Locally owned and the food is homebaked with a wide variety to choose from. Ample seating and for all weather. Variety of plants to pick from after you are finished your coffee.

Although this little bus station cafe is small and always busy because of those who are passing through, I can honestly say some of the best coffee in Downpatrick is served here. Very reasonably priced, and they have specials on regularly to suit the season. Even if you're not making a trip anywhere, stop here for a lovely brew and a fresh baked good or confectionary of your choice to carry you through your day.
