**Review for Jollof Zone** I recently had the pleasure of dining at Jollof Zone, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience! After perusing some reviews, I felt that many negative comments came from those unfamiliar with the nuances of African cuisine. For instance, the goat meat, which some patrons criticized for having too many bones, is traditionally prepared this way to enhance its rich flavour. I ordered the Egunsi soup with pounded yam and assorted meat, and it was truly one of the finest I’ve ever tasted—deeply rich and satisfying. Additionally, I took home both the porridge beans and a generous 5-liter bowl of their chicken stew, which were equally delightful. The service was outstanding, making my visit all the more enjoyable. I am eagerly anticipating my next trip to Jollof Zone; they have certainly captured my culinary heart! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking to explore authentic African flavors.

Food is actually good, but atmosphere, authenticity and service is lacking.

I drove all the way from Milton Keynes on Sunday and the restaurant was closed. I’m so pissed 😡😡 and it’s boldly written open come on in. Bullshit

The worst Nigerian restaurant! My ayamese with assorted meat arrived with NOT 1 piece of meat or shaki. I managed to find 1 piece of cow foot. I specifically asked questions about the food before placing the order and it was not what was i ordered. The mistake was admitted and I was told I would get a refund. They did not honour their word. The food that did arrive was basic and certainly not worth the £18 I paid for the meal. I can’t support a business that does not put the customer before profit, resolve their mistakes and most importantly honour their word. So they will not see a penny from me, my family and I strongly advise you avoid them at all cost!!

Opening time is shown as 1pm on weekends. We gave up staring at the shutters at 1:10pm 🤷‍♂️

I want to support local businesses, but my experience here was disappointing. I ordered the Chicken Suya for £13, but it had barely any chicken or seasoning. I frequent other Nigerian restaurants nearby and would suggest trying them instead or atleast avoid the chicken suya.

Really disappointed as a white British person looking for authentic flavour from Africa, this is was a let down, the chicken was very tender and juicy however there was no flavour. The rice was very bland, I was hoping for a better experience knowing that African cuisine is simple fantastic but this place was just a let down when it came to getting that. I hope it gets better.

My mother and I were unsure what to order, being completely unfamiliar with African cuisine, but two gentlemen at another table suggested the Jollof, Meat/Fish and Plaintain. Going with their suggestion, we were very happy with our meals. I had beef, my mother had the fish. The rice was very flavourful and lots of it. Some of my beef was a little fatty but mostly very good. Would definitely recommend to anyone unfamiliar with African foods.

I loved the Jollof rice and plantain. I had fried fish (hake.) It tasted good but I didn't like all the bones. My son had beef and said it was very good.

Stopped by for lunch... restaurant is very central, food was lovely, not spicy at all, I guess they are catering for all palates Giving 3 rating because they didn't have the drinks I wanted 😒. Otherwise, it was a pleasant experience. I'd definitely recommend it.

It was my first time coming here and trust me I had an amazing experience. The food was 💯 Riddhi who served my friends and I is so amazing, she deserves a raise. I will come back again and again

Best African restaurant I have been too. Felt like home!! Riddhi was so professional providing the service and at the same time sweet and patient.

I’ve been craving African food and this did not hit the spot. The jollof rice was dry not juicy. The chicken was okay but not too spicy when we asked for extra spice. We ordered goat meat as well. We got 4 small pieces. One of which was all bone no meat. The goat meat wasn’t a side dish it was meant to be a dish on its own. Extremely disappointed.

Pure class! Ordered takeaway, pounded yam and efo egusi, and I cannot rave enough about it. Certainly the best I have eaten in a long long while.

Local restaurants don't come any better. Great location near Edgware tube, really smart decor and such friendly service. Even the music (at lunchtime) was spot on, added to the atmos but volume was just right The food - jollof with hake and salad for me - was fantastic. Very generous portions and full of flavour. All in all, absolutely perfect.

Just had a call from this eateries number, claiming to be EE. Might want to check your phones

I went to eat there and the food was uncooked. I didn’t eat most of it and the best that could be done was 10% discount, when it’s likely i will get food poisoning

The restaurant didn’t pay the driver before he brought my order. The driver was harassing me and refusing to release my order until I paid him. Even though I called the restaurant and they called the driver, this experience is unacceptable and shouldn’t happen after I have paid through justeat for a smooth experience.

Food is good but its on the pricey side as the porridge yam is small in quantity for the price.

I had jollof and beef, it was ok, the beef was a bit fatty and I think my portion of rice was the bottom of the pot but was all still ok. I would go back and give them another try, the Iranian lady who serves has the best customer service I have experienced in a long time and just because of her I would try again.

My friends and I had the best jollof we have had in ages at this place. Plus the ambience and Afrobeats music in the background makes everything simply beautiful. Totally recommend

Best Jollof rice ever! Really recommend the Joffof rice with stewed beef and the famous pepper soup (a bit spicy though)

The food is really nice.. especially the jollof. The owners are lovely. Only thing I’ll say is that it’s expensive. If not for price, I’d go there every 2 days 😄

First time I’ve been here and I am amazed, great food and drinks. Great prices and the staff is extremely friendly, if your local definitely worth a visit you won’t be disappointed. Had a great time here with a group of 3. Everyone left happy and will be definitely coming back even if it’s just for drinks.

An amazing and fun experience. This was my first time trying Nigerian cuisine, and it was delicious! I ordered their Jollof, because, well, it's in the name of the restaurant, so I had to try it, and it was soo good. The spring rolls were also amazing, big portioned and everything was also decently priced. I couldn't finish all my food, although I loved it, so I get to enjoy it for dinner as well ^^ The service was great as well. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful, giving us recommendations and telling us more about the diferent types of food when asked. We had the restaurant mostly to ourselves, so it is a given the staff might not be able to be as attentive during a more busy day, but nonetheless, I appreciated it. Their coffees are tasy as well. I've been told they added the coffe menu just recently, but they've got it right! All drinks came with a complementary biscuit, and we even received extra ones to enjoy with outlr hot beverage. I would come again for their iced caramel latte, it was delicious. 4.7 ⭐

I went all the way from Barnet Hill to order food here only to get home and find that the egusi i ordered NONE of the meat was edible - the tripe, cow foot it was a sheer waste of money.i was bitterly disappointed. I was also charged for a kids meal which never came with the meat i paid for just the rice. Up to now i regret choosing to go there

Grat place, thigh and breasts are 10/10, so is the chicken. HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Jollof Rice. Fell in love in the Jollof Zone. <3

Food was OK at best but the worst part was one of the items delivered was wrong and they promised to replace it and till date, they still haven't kept to their words even though I called them up to chase.

I’m giving 5 stars just because of the DJ that plays on Friday’s he brings the place to life!!! His selections of music are amazing! Overall the staff should try to make that place feel more glamorous!

Excellent taste, but perhaps beware the spicy heat if you're not used to much heat.

Saw it when walking and want to give a try ordered fish in stew firstly piece of fish for £8 was tiny ( compering to burnt oak places probably you will pay max 4 £ for that size ) secondly was completely row inside so end up in bin ( u can not re-cook) contacted restaurant through their website no response at all not even apologies very disappointed won't be ordering again .

Nice jollof and dodo. Very friendly staff. Update - staff still friendly but my last two orders of jollof were not nice at all. Didn't taste like jollof. Not nice. Probably won't go back since I have other consistently good options.

Lovely food. The Chicken and Jollof was very tasty indeed.... well prepared with good quality ingredients. And also Moin Moin, the first time I've tried this, was delicious. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. Look forward to going again and trying other dishes.

Went to jollofzone on bank holiday and I must confess, all the meals we had were spot on. I particularly enjoyed the amala/gbegiri and ewedu. Definitely will be going back over and over again👍🏾

My wife and I took our young son to Jollof Zone for dinner a couple of weeks ago. We had yam porridge, egusi, assorted meat, pepper soup, Jollof rice, stew, pounded yam, plantain and lamb Suya. The food was cooked to perfection, however the lamb Suya didn’t quite hit the spot as well as the other dishes (it was cooked ok, it just wasn’t seasoned as well as we’d expected it to be) Service was good, staff were all friendly and the chef made a point of coming out to check on us and ask if we were enjoying our meals; she also gave our son an extra portion of stew to take home, which was a really nice touch. Overall, Jollof Zone is a very welcome addition to the restaurant scene in Edgware, especially since we have been missing a good local Nigerian eatery since Mama Calabar closed some time ago.

Overall I would rate the experience 10/10. I ordered Egusi & Efo alongside 2 portions of Jollof. The food was tasty and delicious alongside being freshly made. In comparison I would compare the quality and standard to some of the more established Nigerian restaurants. Highly recommend!

It was nice, but there was no scotch bonnet heat in the jollof which was disappointing.
