Costa Coffee in Barnet

One member of staff a bit sullen. The otherone smiled.

The barista (CHRISTIANA) made my coffee last week created a wonderfull design that unfortunately i forgot to take a picture of. except for the plesant vibe and smily face she seemed to enjoy doing her job and being highly creative. I believe Is important to leave a nice review for people who work with love and passion for what they do and i hope they always get rewarded for that so they keep being highly motivated. I hope it puts a smile on your face if you see my review ☺️

Today was my first day in East Finchley and I had a very warm welcoming. I stopped off at costa coffee and I felt like something simple like a caramel macchiato. They didn’t have this simply on the menu . I didn’t have much experience on how it’s made either . The server was so friendly and patient and helpful on helping me make a choice and she made a perfect caramel macchiato. I ordered a ham and cheese toast with a billionaires bite after enjoying my macchiato. Again friendly and polite service . Great smile and atmosphere and welcoming staff. Even though they are busy they still hold good customer service . Thank you for the good service and food .

Very slow service, waited over 10 min for two drinks , only had 1 customer before me . The lady who took the order was nice and quick and efficient but I think her colleague clearly did not want to be here and took extra long for every drink . Also the drinks were tasteless . One was like drinking egg yolk and the other one like fragrances water .

Came in at half 5, ordered a coffee and wanted to use the toilet. The staff member on duty told me that I wasn't allowed to use it as she didn't want to have to clean it again before they closed at 6. Disappointed in the customer service of her and her colleague at the till who said this is what they do when they're closing. Inside the furniture looks worn out and beat up. The iced coffee I ordered tasted good and up to the standards I'd expect from the brand.

I put in pre order first est time 7.15 I had to go docs I tried and tried to find cancel order got bk says been delivered not here so haven't got it so hope the driver enjoys his coffee now going to have to go get a coffee missing items yesterday now 2hrs plus to deliver a coffee come on that's a liberty I get like 30 even 40 mins late but near on 2hrs that's just a joke

I ordered mocha coffee as usuall for takeaway.but It looked like they forgot to add chocolate so taste was different and also cakes wasn't fresh so I put in the bin , I waste my money and time

Really friendly staff and perfect cappuccino

Yesterday I witnessed the English barista lady shouting at a disabled customer who asked to use the accessible bathroom. She caused a huge scene, the customer was quiet and trying to explain. She told him to show her evidence of disability which he did and she refused to read it. She confiscated his and his friend’s drinks and banned him from returning. It was humiliating to watch and I can only imagine how that poor customer felt.

Wonderful time with my family and only £19.75 for 3 drinks and 3 warmed sandwiches, service was amazing and very kind they were polite and welcoming even recommend new items! Our servers were Catrina who was friendly to all the guests served while we were there and denisa who was fantastic and helpful, the atmosphere was lovely and our food and drink was amazing! Overall a great experience and will come back soon to take the kids for there hot milkshakes recommended by Catrina!

I don't normally rate chain coffee shops but the girl who served this morning was very friendly and pleasant.

Friendly service at Costa just up from East Finchley station

There's a sense of unpleasantry in the atmosphere most due to the unfriendlyness of the staff. Fake smile and constant grunt at customers is not appropriate manner to welcome patrons. The store experiences a high volume of schools once school is out and most of them sit in groups and aren't true customers. On my visit, which was in the afternoon, seating was available and the tables and floor were clean enough for new visits. Inside was warm and I was able to relax and have my meal without much disturbance. There was a huge water leak in the restrooms, though it didn't pose any safety risk to customers, it wasn't really pleasing to see. I hope management get it sorted as soon as possible.

Thank you for getting my order right this time. Twice I was sent the wrong drinks and no way of getting our money back because how can you see in a photo that your coffee has vanilla shots in them when you order just a regular latte?!

Front of the queue for 6 minuets while the two people working made orders, at no point were we acknowledge, when we were eventually served it was like talking to a wall

Ordered 3 drinks. Two iced latte with extra shots were fine but got my simple large decaf latte wrong. I received vanilla latte & I do not drink sweet coffee. Went straight down the sink. Unbelievable. Now if I go to order another latte they will charge delivery as it does not meet minimum order which is madness since it’s their mistake.

I asked for a flat white not hot, warm but more cold. Then they gave me a coffe what they made by mistake for in a take away cup for a lady front of me who wanted to sit in, and she asked a "mug or cup". So immediately when I payed they gave me that coffee and I saw what they were doing, also I burnt my lips with their coffee. Was very unpleasant and they are very unfriendly with people, a good service is not what they give. Also I ve got an ice coffee at the last time, was too much ice inside and the coffee was terrible as their attitude.... very bad experience..

Bad service. Two young ladies working on a Wednesday. My friend asked for one of them to wipe the chairs outside as it was completely dirty, including the table. She just grinned and didn’t seem polite when she went to the chairs outside and just dapped on the chair with some tissue. My friend was done eating and decided to be kind by just taking his plate to the counter to her. She just said “put it down” and didn’t really seem polite. They just frowned the whole time as they were serving people. Didn’t really seem like a great atmosphere to be around. I go to other costa places in North Finchley or in High Barnet and not once have I ever witnessed such bad service. At the Costa’s I’ve went to so far have always seemed so polite and always had a great atmosphere.

Worst cappuccino I had … horrible experience!!!

Was nothing in fridges, I was so hungry yet so happy to see a costa so I could grab something. I went in and fridge was as empty as my stomach. I grabbed a coffee and wished my self to find an other place to get some food ASAP. Definitely not gona go there again

I started my afternoon today visiting costa East Finchley where I was greeted by the marvellous barista Lucca. His service was tantalising as he asked for my order. Flat white “bosh”. His service was so exceptional he should be the very face of the Costa brand as his ethos in serving customers reflects the brands capacity to emote emotion and love through each cup time and time again. His name should be chanted through the streets while trumpets ring through this sleepy patch of London suburbia. A goblet forged from the depths of the Brazilian rain Forrest is the only adequate way to decorate this omnipotent coffee wizard. Since drinking the flat white I ordered I have developed magical tendencies where I am transported to an old farm house in rural Paris. Much like the critic in ratatouille after he tries remi’s signature dish. Lucca’s is his flat white. His flat whites be bussin tight. I would offer Lucca a Vice President role on the senior leadership team as he seems to understand what hard work is and what it means to fulfil a role to the highest degree. Breathtaking experience at costa today. I shall be returning.

A new place in Headcorn to me - a bit dingy inside and not welcoming and comfy. The server MUST AVOID fingers around the rim of cups when serving - poor hygiene

Went in today to have a Coffee and Snack, there is a lovely young lad working there called Michael, he has been a kind and caring young man to me and my needs, even when I just needed the facilities, I am a 61 year old woman with a heart condition that is happy that there is still caring young people about, Well done Michael, you should receive Employee of the year. Mrs Judy keeling.

Visited today. Great customer service. However, sad to see that Costa has not moved away from pandemic narrative. Stuff is still divided from customers by perspex glass. It was difficult to communicate my order. Would be nice to know if there is any intention to remove this barrier.

Ordered 3 drinks. Two iced lattes & a large latte. Received 3 iced lattes instead. Had to order the latte again & was charged £2.49 for delivery as it did not meet the minimum spend, left note for Costa saying they sent us the wrong drink & still didn’t even compensate for at least the delivery charge. Unbelievable

Tasty café and nice snacks inside Hospital 🏥 for all patients and staffs,good enough tables inside. Quick service inside or order with mobile app as Costa. Coffee ☕️ are very tasty 😋, staff are very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable to make your customers happy 😃. I recommend for anyone who wants a decent coffee ☕️. You can use your loyalty with mobile app or physical paper card to achieve a free coffee after 8 times buying coffee, drinks or snacks , they count all of them separately as one stamps gold or normal. This is one of the best things you can have only in Here after very tasty different hot drinks.

The coffee from Costa is my favourite every morning. The reasons for what I choose this shop to go every morning are for friendly staff which made amazing coffee too. The shop is always clean and it’s really nice to spend time there. I recommend to choose this shop👌👌

There are absolutely loads of great independent coffee shops around nowadays and honestly the only reason i would go into a large chain such as Costa is because it is next to a bus stop. Well this one is, and the staff are friendly and helpful to boot. Costa coffee in every other way, but honestly, I've changed my review as they used to be awful. Now definitely 3.5 stars(but I will go For it and round it off to four!) 😂

Instead of one iced coffee I was greeted by two regular hot ones. I love a cheeky unexpected BOGOF, and usually this would be no big deal, however I also specified almond milk. Will now spend the rest of the day running to the bathroom due to IBS as I’m p.sure I’ve just ingested a whole cow. Please be careful...

The owners were terrible. They made me work for a day and didn’t pay me. This happened in 2015.

Person at the till very slow took very long, I ordered without coffee in my Caramel Crunch frostino, they messed up and had coffee in my drink. I asked politely for them to do something about it and they responded very rudely. In the end, they gave me a new drink, do not recommend this branch at all.

Been once and will not go again

A heart warming Saturday morning note from the "girls at Costa" when they had no bacon so gave us sausage baps instead with a massive apology and wishes for a good day. That's what you call nice people, good custom and happy customers.

I like the size and layout of this branch, when it was open, it is clean and tidy. However service is extremely slow, confused and forgetful. One barista stood aimlessly while her supervisor did all the work, despite no one in the queue behind me and then she forgot one of the 2 things I ordered. I have been in on several occasions and had to wait a long time despite only one person before me and no one after me. I think this could be improved.

Best in Cardiff cos of the lovely ladies serving there. Well done! Super coffee and very reasonable cost

It was quiet. Yes, there were seated customers, but it was large and they were all nicely socially distanced.

I liked the cafeteria, because the space is very large and the service is fine for me. But the site has been very dirty and there is a space that there is no light.

Lots of ungrateful staff who doesn’t seemed to understand the importance of customer service. Not all of them speak English. All of them speak in their own language ( Eastern European ) behind the counter . Toilet is very dirty and unhygienic. It’s used to be good but now !!

Lack of staff when I arrived but polite and helpful. The reason for the 2 stars is the disgusting toilet. Urine all over the seat, no toilet roll.... I was actually going to a meeting on a building site and the site toilets were preferable to yours. Yuk!! Can't be that difficult to keep clean and stocked with toilet roll. It was 8.30 in the morning too!

Service has really deteriated over the past few months. The female staff are unnecesserily rude to customers, for no apparant reason...

I was buying a hot choc and received awful rude service by blonde female Manager/server on 20/11/19 at 11am. Clearly she’s doesn’t enjoy working there, she was rude to another customer before me. Needs retraining.

This is one of the loveliest Costas in the busy area of East Finchley. This is a small place with nice polite baristas that make good cappuccino and tasty sandwiches and toasties. The 2-hour internet log-in details are provided as you buy a cup of coffee. The place itself is small with worn out old furniture and less than okay-ish toilet. Therefore the place is quite good for a quick stop over to have a coffee and snacks but is not cosy or comfortable for working on something creative for a longer period of time on a laptop.

Blonde 'manager' at this Costa is INCREDIBLY rude. Would not return simply due to awful service alone.

For the last couple of months the coffee has changed dramatically, almost like water.. I am one of the local and loyal customers for almost 10 years now and clearly see the difference. Previous staff about 2 years ago was excellent and did coffee very well. It's a shame I had to switch to Starbucks and it's not local to me. You want to get what you pay for. Before you could taste the bitterness of coffee, and now you have to pay for extra shot for this, which is not fair on customers. Costa Coffee , please invest in staffs training, you will be loosing customers.

Terrible service. I asked for an iced soya bonfire spiced latte. The girl didn't know what the bonfire spice was, and said "we don't have". I pointed at the promotional material they have in the shop with "bonfire spiced latte" on, and she started looking through the spices. She then returned and said "we don't do". I then asked what the menu was and she huffed and puffed and asked her colleague who said "of course we do" and showed her the syrup. She then said "I can't find in system, so can't do". Her colleague said to put through as another syrup. She then sulked off to make the drink and got it wrong. Full fat milk and too many pumps of spice for a small. She really doesn't care at all, awful service. Go up the road to Nero. They seem nicer.

Had to explain my order of 1 coffee with soy milk a handful of times before they got it right. Hoped to then get some work down but found that their wifi doesn't work. Wasted a bunch of time coming here. Won't be back.
