As we didn't manage to get to come and have food in the summer, we decided we would call here when we arrived for the week of October half term. Food was cooked to order so had a little wait but not for long. Food was lovely, plenty of it and piping hot. We felt bad as my wife took a plate of toast that wasn't for us, tried taking it back but they wouldn't take it but we dd apologise. Also wouldn't take the money for the toast, said it didn't matter, so put a couple of quid in the tip pot

We go here every time we are down ingoldmells .The Sunday dinners are great .There is a choice of meats and the Yorkshire puds are gigantic . You get a good amount of meat and it is beautiful ,melts in your mouth .Everything is home cooked and tasty . After your meal you get a sweet ,ok it is only cheese cake or gateaux with squirts cream but for £5.95 what do you expect . Gets the thumbs up from us

Visited for Sunday dinner wanted beef but only had 2 left so we ordered 2 beef and 2 chicken, when our food was ready we got 3 meals so one of our party didn't eat. The young lad who took our order didn't left our order right but only charged us for what we got which is good. The people that agreed the food wasn't very good soft veg over done and dry meat and potatoes were smash. Our desserts were frozen cheesecake which tasted watery. On getting our food because we were expecting 4 meals not 3 I asked where the other one was and the lady gave me attitude and persisted in showing me our order which was fair enough but could've been done with our the attitude....I definitely won't be going again

I often go here for a cooked breakfast when I visit Ingoldmells. Really nice and plentiful. Handy for fantasy island as well as it's just over the road.

Popped in for lunch on a Thursday. We hadn’t booked but we were found a table straight away! Staff were friendly and efficient and we didn’t have to wait long for service or food. I simply had to have fish & chips and it did not disappoint! It was a huge portion of fish and perfectly cooked!

I have just been there with my family for mother's day. Initially we booked in to the Old Chequers Inn (the sister pub as their social media says) to be told it wasn't there we were booked in to but there was availability at Poplar Farm. When we got there we were told the first drinks were om the chef due to the confusion which we all appreciated. We realised that they were linked and had the same menu so wonder if we were supposed to be here initially but that was never communicated at the time, someone had our booking but noone wanted to admit to it. We then had to wait 45 minutes to order our starter, and then had then another 30ish minutes between the starter and main. I am not unreasonable and accept they were busy due to Mothers Day but I feel that is no excuse for poor customer service, especially when we had been so put out in the first place. When my mother went to them at the end to explain where the confusion came from with the intention of giving polite constructive criticism, she was told it was her fault and the lady just didn't want to know. The positives were that the food was lovely and that the portion sizes were more than generous, however the customer service being so poor has meant there are six people here currently who will not be going back.
