We picked up a pepperoni pizza the other night. Although a basic option, it was genuinely one of the nicest, freshest tasting pizzas we've ever had. Not too greasy, decent quality meat and just the right thickness and char. Absolutely delicious!

Seriously the best pizza I've ever had - the mussel pizza was so flavoursome and delicious, with a light, thin crust and topped with fresh, quality ingredients. I could have easily finished a second one! Staff were friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend.

Ordered food to take away. Order included gluten free pizza. Arrived home to discover pizza base was not gluten free. Side salads were gritty as if they hadn't been washed. Would not recommend for anyone with allergies.

I recently dined at Johnny Dough's, and it was an excellent experience! We ordered the chicken and lamb kebabs, as well as the duck and goat cheese pizzas – both dishes were packed with flavor and presented beautifully. The food quality was top-notch. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, particularly with our toddler, which made the visit even more enjoyable. The restaurant had a very clean and cozy atmosphere, with rustic decor that added to its charm. For the quality of food, the pricing was very reasonable. I would highly recommend Johnny Dough's to anyone looking for a great meal, and we’re already planning to return next week!

Had a vegan vegetable pizza at Johnny Doughs in Lladudno. I can honestly say it was the best pizza I have ever had! I asked for extra olives and jalapeños and it was packed with them! Service was great and the atmosphere too! The only negative I can say is that I wished they did chips.

After a long walk on the west coast we headed into Johnny doughs for some pizza. Some great choices of toppings to consider from the usual margarita to Johnny's meaty special or even peking duck. So good we had 3 between us(2) but we were super hungry!

Awesome pizza the Sheep Shish Kebab is legendary and a must if you are in Llandudno. Be wise to book. No pretence just pizza! UPDATE: Original Review was 5 years ago. This past weekend 30/08/24 we returned and had similar pizzas. Pleased to report Morgan Austin and his team have not let standards slip. The Sheep Shish Kebab pizza is worthy of a visit to Llandudno to enjoy. It’s an experience. TIP: Eat Pizza…walk up Mostyn Street a wee way and Chuck some Axes at Johnny Throws.

I always feel harsh giving a negative review of an independent business but our experience was rough. I tried to book online which was difficult and involved phoning and visiting, on arrival we waited ages, ages again for the order, too busy for the little ones to be involved in making the pizzas. The pizzas base was basic as was the sauce, drinks orders wrong, bill had to be chased, just an all round hard experience. I hope you enjoy more than me

Very friendly service, the pizza dough is amazing, I would work on the toppings on the pizza so that they wouldn't overpower the dough and cheese so much and they could easily be one of the best pizzas in the UK! I recommend Pizza with duck is a total surprise, I will come back here just for this item!

Had heard this was the best pizza place in llandudno, it did not disappoint! Restaurant was very busy, had to wait for about 10 minutes before ordering but the pizza was made swiftly, staff were very friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. Reasonably priced too! Would highly recommend.

What can i say about Johnny Dough's that isn't a cliché? Ok here i go, This is not Dominos it's not Papa John's, it's not Pizza Hut and quite frankly i was glad because it was way better than anything they could offer and more in between, why? Easy, 1st the staff so when we arrived (literally about half an hour before closing) we weren't greeted with a huff and a puff oh no we were greeted like the place was just opening, shown our seat, guided to the menus (vast choices) and told someone would come take our order, now they allowed us time accustom ourselves to place and then came over and took our order, my wife had the Hawaiian i had the Pekin duck Pizzas, drinks were served and within 5/6 minutes our beautiful HOT pizzas and garlic bread arrived, now this food was Amazing, not Amazing like oh that tastes good, i mean AMAZING!! flavour like you wouldn't believe, with service from people who actually care, honestly if you visit Llandudno you must have a Pizza or 5 from here because my only complaint is we arrived half before closing and i couldn't order another! I don't just recommend this place i actually Demand you visit it!!!

Nice ambience, nice child-friendly service, the pizza was just ok. We had a magerita pizza and pepperoni. For my taste there was little sophistication in the pizza, given the good rating I would have expected more. Unfortunately the olives were very sour. All in all it was a nice visit.

Ordered the vegetable Mediterranean pizza for take out. It's advertised as having aubergine, red onion, courgette, peppers. It came with the aubergine and barely onion. I added roasted tomatoes at an extra cost of 75p....I got one very expensive roasted tomato skin and the rest were uncooked cherry tomatoes. If you don't have what's advertised, don't charge for it. At over £17 I kind of expected a half decently topped pizza. But no, pretty much expensive cheese on toast.

Pizzas were great but service was slow. It was busy and perhaps not enough staff, but they were v friendly and helpful when they got to serve us.

The food is amazing. The service is always outstanding. Everything is cooked fresh and the kitchen is open so you can see what's happening. The authentic pizza oven makes everything taste so much better. Highly recommend Johnny Doughs to anyone.

Got take out on 13th July 2024. Ordered two pizzas (approx 12 inch). Waited 15 minutes. Pizzas tasted great. Bases were thin and crispy. Cheese good quality. Highly recommended.

The pizzas were ok, but dough was very thin and not chewy enough. Not enough toppings (eg on the mussels pizza), especially considering the above average price. I appreciate the large variety of interesting toppings though. Not much greens available, with there only being very basic salads which aren’t very tasty. We went around 3pm and food was served quite quickly.

I had to write this review because I want to show my appreciation for what it's worth. Visited Johnny Dough's on Monday 8th July 6.30pm, only one waitress was working and one chef and the restaurant started getting busy very quickly. They coped magnificently and with such a positive manner they really can't be praised highly enough. She apologised for the service but we reassured her that she was amazing, it's not easy to do all the roles of a busy restaurant between just two people. A credit to the establishment!.

Pizzas were great. We had the duck and hoisin pizza and the goats cheese one both amazing. Great place and also local drinks.

I was on a short holiday break and on two occasions I walked to order pizza . Google search said it was open but it was closed.. No sign on the door and chairs stacked on tables ? Although I was here for a week I didn't bother again . Not sure what happened?

Pizza was fab, really enjoyed it. Catered for coeliacs and the gluten free base was tasty, as were the toppings. Husband wasn’t too keen on the chicken tikka pizza but I enjoyed the goats cheese and caramelised onion one and my son loved his pepperoni pizza. Definitely worth booking a table as it did get busy of an evening and service was a little slower as a result. Also the starter took a while to arrive, had to remind the staff about the olives, but on the whole, an enjoyable evening and food.

From the moment you walk into this space, the yummy smell of pizza is just there. The service was absolutely brilliant and the pizza was great. The thin, crunchy crust, yummy sauce and delicious cheese. The pepperoni pizza was perfect. I ordered the roasted vegetable one, and courgettes and aubergine were underseasoned and overcooked but once I picked them out it was delicious. I still give them 5 stars because of the way how they reacted to my feedback. They were very nice and helpful.

My family and I had super pizzas, mine gluten free. Waitress was lovely, helpful and friendly. Quick service and kids loved watching the men cooking the pizzas as our table was quite near to the cooking bench.

The worst restaurant experience of my entire life. I brought family in who had travelled up from London to have a meal here as I’ve eaten in Rhos on Sea and always had a fabulous meal and experience. The manager who was on duty was a really nice guy who did what he could but he was surrounded by a large group of kids working in the restaurant. We waited a very long time as did lots of other people and no apology for the wait, our pizzas came but no side orders and we were still waiting for drinks. The overall thing that went wrong was something that I’ve never witnessed before and hope I never do again. The chef that was cooking the pizzas came out to our table and dumped 4 very hot pizzas on the table, one of which was in front of a 3 year old who could have been badly burnt. He shouted at us for making HIS staff cry, she lied to us telling us that something wasn’t available when we had been told by more than 1 member of staff, including the manager that it was. We told her that this was not true and she walked off unbeknown to us to go and cry somewhere. This chef should be sacked for his dangerous behaviour as I’m not sure what else he would do if a customer upset him. I asked for an apology from him but none was forthcoming. Your comments on this outrageous behaviour would be appreciated and some sort or explanation why he was allowed to exhibit this dreadful behaviour.

Pizza was lovely but small. Staff was friendly but it was disorganised and badly run, there were lots of unserved customers and long waits (had to physically walk up to staff in order to actually be served or for the bill)

Stumbled across this place. Absolutely best pizza. Hubby isn't keen on pizza and had the shish kebab one. He loved it. Great welcome, friendly staff. Defo worth a visit!

Really lovely restaurant, was greeted at the door immediately and taken to our table where the menu was explained. Staff were really quick to take our order and the food was brought out just as quickly. All the staff were really friendly and the atmosphere was very nice. Would definitely visit again, especially with kids as there was the option for kids to design their own pizza and add the toppings on themselves and there was a paper table cover and crayons so the kids can draw whilst they wait for the food.

Great food with excellent services

Over the years we as a family have eaten at Johnny Dough’s many times, I personally have never experienced anything but excellence and thought you couldn’t improve upon perfection, but I was wrong. Last evening I had the Sheep shish pizza my wife had the chicken Tikka and our youngest had pepperoni and olive. Collectively we agreed that the pizzas were by far the best we have ever had. I cannot recommend this establishment enough.

Had a great experience here! I was struggling to find somewhere allergy friendly until I found Johnny Dough's. We had a gluten free BBQ chicken with vegan cheese and garlic bread. Staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating, and even informed us that their BBQ sauce may contain gluten and were happy to switch it to a tomato sauce. They also let us know that they change gloves when handling gluten free items and use a dedicated tray in the oven to reduce cross contact. Very much appreciate their safety protocols and felt safe eating here. The food itself was fantastic! Would've attached a picture but my hunger got the best of me. Very high quality ingredients, and definitely the best gluten free pizza I've had in years. The garlic bread was just garlic sauce on a pizza base (due to being gluten free) but still delicious. We will undoubtedly be returning!

Servers went above and beyond to help me order GLUTEN FREE takeout with an allergy to consider. They were knowledgeable and so helpful and accommodating. I got the BBQ chicken pizza (minus BBQ sauce as that has trace gluten in it) and garlic bread. Both GF. Both delish and I will be ordering from here again... probably a lot!! Even had a cheeky glass of wine on their lovely outdoor seating area while waiting for my food. Spot on food Great service. Another great visit to this top class pizza restaurant. Even though we went quite late on a Sunday evening and it wasn’t busy at all, there is still a vibrant atmosphere. The manager was so polite and very helpful, coupled with the most delicious pizzas around.The brownie is a definite must. Please add shavings of Parmesan cheese to the rocket salad! Will always be returning to this place on our trips to Llandudno. Thank you.

Came here for a birthday lunch with my mum. The whole place was empty just another couple on a table. Ordered a margarita, and it barely came with any sauce or cheese. If that’s what the pizza is like when it’s quiet, I dread to think what it’s like when it’s busy. The price was okay at £9.95 but the prices are very steep for the other pizzas or extra toppings!!!!! I wouldn’t bother coming here!

I just keep coming back to Johnny Doughs. Had such a good experience as a solo diner last year that I came back. Super handy that all pizzas can be adapted to be gluten free. I had the chicken shish pizza and it was absolutely incredible! I would go as far to say it was one of the best gluten free pizzas I have ever had! So many toppings. A soft drink, a pizza and a side cost me just shy of £25 which I honestly think is about average for eating out these days. If I was staying longer, I would go back without a doubt! Thank you for welcoming solo diners with dietary needs.

Since we discovered Johnny Doughs in 2016 we haven't eaten dinner anywhere else when we visit Llandudno from Liverpool. We've even arranged birthday celebrations to take in a JD's pizza. Felt a bit sad that our overall experience today was one that, on balance, might make us look around for alternatives. The kitchen is right at the back now, so the central cooking area/oven is all dark. There are stacks of takeaway boxes where there used to be a warmly lit bar or where you'd see the chefs prepping pizza. The decor - has it been stripped back? Seemed quite bare. Something was missing. Pizzas were tasty, but the prices have gone up to the point where my 'usual' chorizo and prawn is now £16.65. I nearly chose a cheaper pizza, but I love that one. I've never baulked at the price before. It was OK. Very very thin crust that seemed much thinner than usual, there was no single shell-on prawn on it like it used to have & the serving board had a brown paper bag on it & not the JD logo greaseproof paper. I know costs have increased (labour, fuel, ingredients), but £20 for a pizza and a can of ginger beer is steep. OK, the teen kids had the great £7.95 deal, but they are growing up so there will come time when pizzas for 4 with a soft drink will be hitting the £80 mark, and then you start to look at other options for eating out. Gah, it makes me sad! We've loved Johnny Doughs since it opened. It's been our go-to warm haven, but it felt a bit bare, pricey and lacking in warmth today. I felt like I was eating in a space that was geared up for takeaways. I'm so sorry. We will no doubt try again, because we just don't know anywhere else to eat in Llandudno!

We were on holiday in Llandudno and having looked at many Trip Advisor reviews I was uninspired. We cook a lot but seldom eat out so we’re probably a bit choosy. My other half found Johnny’s Dough and we booked easily by phone although online looked easy too. We had a lovely meal on Saturday night, there was a fun and relaxed vibe and the staff were really lovely. Families, couples and groups all having a great evening. We tried to find an alternative on Sunday night for variety, but returned to JD’s in the end without booking. They found us a table by the window on bar stools which was fine. Had pizzas with side salad and coleslaw. Highly recommend.

This place is very calm, the waiters are really friendly and they serve you really fast. The food comes to you very quickly! Loved this place!!!

Chorizo pawn chilli pizza had a lovely kick to it and honestly the best pizza I’ve ever eaten! £16 Kids and other half all had margarita which wasn’t bad for £10. We came over Easter weekend and on Friday night they were booked out, but managed to squeeze us in for Sat night. Our waitress blonde lady pleasant, however we saw one particular waitress with dark hair and rosy checks who literally didn’t stop but always accommodating and friendly to guests. We ended up giving her the tip as she worked so so hard. Overall WHEN we come back we will def pre book this place again.

The pizza was absolutely amazing, just the right size and loaded with delicious toppings. It tasted incredible! The staff was extremely friendly, both at the restaurant and during the axe throwing activity. I will definitely return in the future.
