Quite expensive for what you get, an XL portion of Chips is about 3 people’s worth at a push, not the 4+ you’d expect for the price.

This place hasn't been right for years. Friday night's offering was pathetic. Half cooked chips heated in a microwave. They ended up in the bin. Waste of money.

Food was reheated and stale chips were over coloured and brown.Appalling service> Who wants a quick delivery time with stale food!!

Ordered via Foodhub. Unsure if it’s different when ordering online but my first experience wasn’t a good one. The fish bites were soggy and dripping in fat, there was little to no taste to the fish and the batter was inedible. Chips were ok. Nothing ground breaking. Disappointed is an understatement

Ordered for 8:30 at 7. It turned up at 8:55, it was extremely cold and rock hard it hurt my jaw to chew. The waffle was thin and not much taste ar all. The milkshake tasted of just milk, couldn't taste any milkybar at all. There was no explanation or apology as to why it's late. Cannot ever see myself ordering from here again which is a shame as my family have praised here in the past.

waffles were hard and chewy, stingy on sauce, milkshakes were dead, spent £30 on 2 badly made waffles and 2 badly tasting milkshakes definitely will never buy from here again only good thing was the delivery time!

kind staff but didn’t really like the food it wasn’t that appetising it didn’t want to make me keep eating it and didn’t eat all of it but the milkshakes were stunning like amazing I love it but the service was really friendly.

Food was absolutely lovely , but please don't use those cardboard boxes for takeaway curry/gravy and chips , the gravy/curry just drys up into the box itself and with those lids they really annoying to eat with they keep getting in the way ...old school polystyrene ones would be much nicer .

Order originally stated 55-60 minutes. Long but on a Saturday fair enough. That then changed and was extended another 25 minutes, 20 minutes later the food arrives. 2 hours in total from order to receiving it. When it came it was hot which was good. However only average.

Food arrived cold and not edible. Arrived really late. Milkshakes were getting stale

The curry was £9 something and it tasted very powdery and not very nice. Sadly I had a couple mouth fulls and couldn’t eat anymore. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Excellent Large Cod and Chips. The Cod was the best and was tender and not dry. The batter was lightly cooked to perfection. Good friendly service from the two ladies behind the counter. We need somewhere to sit whilst waiting for the food to be freshly cooked. Keep up the good work. The competition is always trying to take your customers away.

There was a road closure so driver had to go long route but he was apologetic. A nice smart driver . Food was very tasty and presented well in a nice strong box . Correct order as well.

I have eaten from here a few time over the last six months and always found the food tasted nice, was reasonably priced with large portions. I visited again tonight on my way home from work. I ordered two large portions of chips, one curry sauce and a gravy plus two sausages in batter. I'm not sure if there are new owners but everything was awful. Two large bags of chips were the smallest ever and the gravy was the worst I have ever tasted, it was like brown water, thin and insipid. My wife's curry was equally bad as were the cremated sausages. I was hugely disappointed and sadly won't be visiting again.

2 hours late my son was already in bed had to make him somthing due to it being late it was a treat for a birthday that was spoild x

The gravy I have with my meal was pretty tasteless and not very nice at all. Otherwise the food was great and I’d happily order again. My wife and I also had waffles and they were awesome! Highly recommended.

We have ordered with yourselves on a few occasions and have had no problem and really enjoyed the food. However last night we ordered at 7 pm and was given a time estimate for delivery between 8.10 pm and 8.30 pm but our food wasn't delivered until 9.30 pm which was an hour late. We were given the option via Just Eat to request some money back but received a reply simply saying 'No' to that request. We were very surprised to receive no goodwill from this yourselves and it has put us off ordering with yourselves again.

We have ordered from here about 3 or 4 times now and the food is always piping hot and lovely. Fish is unreal & the chips are always perfect. Staff are so friendly and polite

Chips are cold, gravy is cheap and taste horrible and the curry was lumpy and horrible, the employees were rude when they messed up the order. Expensive £20 for 2 large chips (more like a small) a pot of gravy and a pot of curry. I would never even recommend it to the person I hate the most

I found the half pound burger grossly overdone and rubbery. 2 bites and it was in the bin.

Food was just warm as it had been waiting for a driver in the shop for a long time. I ordered at 6.30 and it arrived after 8.45. Delivery should have been 7.50-8.10 and I thought that was a long time already! I wont be buying again!!!!

When this place wS taken over by Billy's Diner, the food and service went bad real quickly. Now its back to Joe's fish bar, the high standards are back! Brilliant!

This is not your ‘average joes’ your paying for top quality food. I had the chicken and pulled pork burger and it was fantastic. My partner also really enjoyed his cheese burger then we finished it off with a really delicious galaxy caramel waffle and thick strawberry milkshake. Can’t fault it at all. The delivery was quicker than estimated too which was great. Highly recommend!

Food took over an hour to arrive. Chips were slightly tough again, although fish was nice (as usual).

Food was suppose to be here at 8.15 it showed up at 9.24 after 3 calls to the shop would not reccomend food is great but the wait is shocking you will not be hungry by the time it shows up

First estimated arrival time was 19:35-19:55. After they failed to arrive within this time an hour after I ordered the food I put in request online to say they were late. It was then updated to 20:15pm. That time came and went and still no food was here. I put another request in and tried to call the restaurant with no answer. Online just eat said they put in request for some money back. Food finally arrived 2 hours later. I tried to ask the driver since I was having trouble getting through to the restaurant about money back for very late service. I was shocked when the driver was walking away while I was trying to sort order out. I asked her to please stop and she said she doesn't care and not her problem swinging her arms completely unprofessional and disrespectful for a service a customer has paid for and 2 hours late. I finally got through to the restaurant and was told nothing they can do as busy. So they happy to take customers money and not provide a professional service. Due to hungry children I had no option but to accept the order. Terrible service as the food wasn't even warm either for 2 burgers. The ice cream was melted.

After all good reviews, food wasn't up to others. Fish and chips were warm not hot and the batter was soggy with quite a small fish compared to others, but still tasty.

I don't like greasy fish and chips and these were perfect. Crispy coating on the fish, and chips were the same, not greasy. I have a new chippy to order from. Will definitely order again from Joe's.
