Jock’s Grill House in Fife

I've been to Jocks twice now and on both occasions the staff could not have been any kinder or more accommodating if they'd tried. They really went above and beyond in comparison to some other places. The quality of the food was also really good and they were very attentive and willing to make amendments and substitutions to meet my dietary requirements. When we came in and they asked where we'd like to sit and I explained I was experiencing problems with my back, we were given a great spot that was very good for helping my back. This is a new favourite place of ours.

Went in for a birthday meal, waited long time at the door for someone to see us to the table. Then ordered cocktails and some had more ice and whipped cream than actual alcohol. I guess they need to make the money somehow. Had salt and pepper loaded fries, they were soaking with grease not loaded with nothing except oil, no taste just literally salt on it. £10 for some frozen deep fried chips, some parsley and salt on it with plenty of greasy oil. Heard staff speaking that another table wasn't happy so they need to hurry up with drinks. Staff attitude was terrible too, couldn't care less Definitely won't be back

Tiny portions for the cost of food. For the chicken fajitas at just under £16 only two wee tortillas were provided. Sadly not good value but atmosphere is lovely.

Went in today place looks great on the inside the atmosphere is great, waited for the server to come over and seat us… we were put in the most awkward spot ever blocking the staff from giving food to the customers at the window and this old guy basically gave me a back massage as he was walking past to go to the loo. Got some tapas and coffees the table was a little dirty and when we got the menus they were in dire need of a wipe down. Got our food and asked for side plates (one of them was wet 😭) food was honestly nothing to write home about probably not gonna be back again. Not until the place gets a good clean atleast

Dropped in on the off chance of getting a table. It was quiet so we got in . First thing I notice it was cold. We ate with our jackets on . Girls had fish & chips very very greasy .I had chicken wraps very very wet . Dripping out the wraps .Staff told me they are leaving the flavor in the sauce .very messy to eat . Was offered 25 % off . Over all building looks nice decor nice .but very cold? .one staff nice other one needs a wee course in diplomacy . Food ok but not worth the price to be honest . 2 nd time there but sadly won't be going back .sad as we have lots of birthday and a few anniversarys coming up. I also here they have taken over society but if they can't get it right I in this building? then they have no chance in the next? as it 10 time the size ? 20 min waiting for ice cream in the cold .not a good review but honest .

Took my grandparents as we were supposed to go previous week for a birthday, however when we got there they said they had a fault in the kitchen and can’t open. Totally fine and was given vouchers, though a call would’ve been nice. This time, we were the only other table apart from a table of men, who seem to be close to the restaurant were loud, on phones, swearing AND vaping at the table. Other staff were brilliant but had to wait a couple times to catch them as most of the time there was no one at front. Can’t fault the food at all, or the decorations. However, won’t be back as the table of regulars/ owners weren’t very welcoming.

Great service from the staff, very polite, friendly and helpful. The food was first class, I really enjoyed all of it. Marked a little down on the atmosphere because some of the clientele at a few tables were moaning about the service and challenging the staff, making it slightly uncomfortable. The staff had other issues ongoing they were dealing with but some people are so impatient and rude. I will definitely return for another visit.

Food was Amazing here! I ordered a burger and chips and it was by far one of the best I've had The names on the menu are especially funny, the burger I ordered was called the "40 Year Old Virgin" Definitely recommend coming here, they're dog friendly too :)

Great food, very tasty but completely let down by the lack of staff One lassie on her own couldn't keep up with getting food out, taking orders and manning bar Half hour before even got a drink to the table, a hour before food delivered, no beer on draught, went to order food and told oh sorry we don't have that, really disappointing, could be amazing but let down by simple things

One of the best places in Kirkcaldy. Great atmosphere, decor and the food is amazing. They do a cracking Sunday roast too and also dog friendly which we love.

As a coeliac there was a good choice however cider was limited Hamberburger and chips £15 was a bit steep don't rate jocks as a go to Place

Absolutely fantastic! We dropped in for lunch, and was nice and relaxed, warm and welcoming. The food was absolutely amazing and the portions are generous. Especially the loaded fries. I had the prawn tacos and they were cooked to perfection. The sweetcorn fritters, were unlike anything I’ve ever tasted, and the only way I want to eat sweetcorn from now on. 😂 They even presented my daughter meal of sausage, beans and fries, with a little side salad and looked ‘posh’ in her words. Even providing her with a colouring in page and pens to keep her entertained. At the end of her meal, she asked the waiter to pass on her ‘compliments to the chef’. The ambiance is great fun, and settling to a busy mind with plenty to look at. I particularly enjoyed the blossoms and umbrellas. I noted there is live music on Saturday nights and will absolutely be arranging a night out here. Highly recommended.

Visited for an early evening meal to celebrate our daughters birthday with family. Lovely food; a mix of tapas, burgers, tacos and fajitas enjoyed by us all. Staff were lovely and very accommodating throughout. I would like to express how professional they were when dealing with a very rude customer, who was verbally aggressive and abusive towards staff as they clearly didn't like the fact they are family friendly. They did everything they could to defuse this situation caused by the customer which was completely unnecessary. She was very upset that our young children were invited over to play on the piano by another customer which they only did for a few minutes. Had this been in anyway disruptive I would have put a stop to it immediately. My 2 year old was a little unsettled while waiting on our meal to arrive but as soon as it did he was content for the remainder of the evening. I would like to thank the staff again for a very enjoyable celebration with our family. We will continue to recommend to family and friends and look forward to our next visit, supporting a fabulous local business.

Enjoyed an early evening family birthday meal here. Food very good and staff, including a very new staff member, very helpful and accommodating. Sadly they had to deal with a very rude customer who was making a complaint very aggressively. They handled it very professionally.

Went out to spend a birthday with my son on Monday afternoon. Service and food was fantastic. Young server on her first day was amazing. However we were greeted with a crying baby and a piano being played by a kid out of key. It kind of ruined the rest of the evening to be honest. I went back to complain to the manager however she was very rude and it really put me down. Only go there if you have kids. They'd be most welcome in this establishment. Decor is amazing though.

First time at Jock's. Food was good. Seating area was cold. Partner didn't take her coat off entire meal.

Just had my first taste of Jock's grill house albeit not on the premises. However a lot of restaurants that do takeaways never match what they make inhouse, that's why I need to make a visit to this place really soon. I had Jocks fried Chicken topped with Haggis Bacon & Cheese served in a box with fries and side salad. I also had a side portion of haggis fritters which came with salad and dressing. The food was honestly amazing, it had my taste buds working overtime with the mix of flavour. The salad itself alone was really flavourful and refreshing . Well worth it, you get what you pay for.

Sunday roast was on point and for a very reasonable price. A really vibrant space to be in and good staff.

Vegan food was excellent, we got the peanut satay burger and the tacos with corn ribs which were delicious, full of flavour. Loved the atmosphere and music too and the staff were very friendly.

Disappointed to score so low. Place looks great & has good vibe to it. No idea why the black tortilla chips are served with nachos. Chewy & tasteless. When we complained told nothing wrong with them & its how they are...followed up by a "no-one really likes them though". Service patchy to say the least. Very lovely & welcoming first impression but she went home 30mins after arriving then very little to no interaction from team, who found time to chat & laugh behind bar, which isnt a problem if they are checking in & offering drinks or asking how food is but im afraid they did neither. Only asking about food when our near full plates collected for awful nachos and the criminally under cooked pork burger, which was taken off our bill. A 2 course meal took 1hr 45mins amd can honestly say there could only have been 3/4 tables at the time with customers. Overall, service really poor and food didnt match the rave reviews we have seen, especially the under cooked Pork Burger

Had a bite to eat with friends. Loads of choice on the menu, GF options available and big portions. I had the had the haggis balls with peppercorn sauce and salad also a bowl of fries, didn't like the sauce that came with the haggis balls. Fries are really good, others had a chicken burger and a chicken bowl. Clean plates all round, service was good and setting was nice n comfy. Only downside is.... it was freezing! Everytime someone came in, the freezing cold blew in our direction, we had to put our coats on. They have a curtain up to try stop the cold but where we were seated it made no difference. It won't stop me going back though. Well worth a visit 👍

Portion sizes are good if your a big eater and the food is amazing, this is one of my favourite eating places.

Not impressed with food or service. Asked for very hot latte and it was luke warm. Food took 50 minutes to be served and it wasn’t the best, chilli chicken, hardly any chicken all very hard coating on it, covered in an mountain of chilli sauce, could hardly see the chicken. I opted for the chips instead of rice. Only thing good about it, chips were good and hot. My mum had the breakfast which she said was the worst she had had. Won’t be back.

We booked ahead for a table for 4, there was a big table in for an engagement, x2 other couples seated, drinks were selected and delivered, one of said x2 couples complaining they had waited over 45 mins for food and no further offerings of drinks, they left before food arrived, it was explained that they had a big table and food was cooked to order, they left regardless, we said we would sit it out, nearly an hour later we were given our food, I had poutine loaded fries (chips cured cheese and gravy) it wasn't warm it was cold, my Huby had fajitas and it was cold, my daughter said her burger was Luke warm but nice and my other daughter had the Kirkcaldy fried chicken wrap and it was also Luke warm.. the sides of chicken strips and wings were piping hot and delicious but the cheddar cheese sauce was again cold, I had 4 chips n couldn't eat the rest I like my chips piping hot, it was all clumped together and cold, no waitress came and asked us if the food was OK, and apon clearing the table we were asked if we wanted anything boxed up ( having seen the food left I suposse) I declined, it's heartbreaking when we rarely go out as can't afford to and feel like I could have served hot chips and gravy and cheese perfectly at home, along with the other food that wasn't hot, I've never in my life left a review n to have my first ever be a bad one isn't good, it was an expensive meal and could have had a nicer one else where, I won't be back to this establishment again I'm afraid, !! X2 stars were for the wings and chicken strips only.

I never write reviews but thought this deserved the efffort ..Went there today and had the black magic burger and all I can say was the best burger I have ever had ..I have been lucky enough to travel all over the world ,especially America where they do amazing burgers .And let me tell you that was the best burger I have ever had hands down ,double beef burger with crispy bacon Black pudding and blue cheese ..was struggling to finish but was so good I couldn't leave anything on the plate even the calslsaw was superb ,and also the chips were excellent aswell .I will definitely be heading back to sample the rest of the menu which I thought was probably one of the best menus I have seen anywhere

Very disappointed with the lack of attention to their booking system. Booked on line on Monday and received the confirmation email from them. Phoned on Friday to add numbers to the booking, yes that was no problem and received another email confirmation. Today, 6 hours before the booking I am contacted to inform me they are cancelling my booking for 7 people because they have bigger bookings coming in after us. This was a birthday meal and now we're left high and dry because all the other local, independent traders are already booked. Shop local they say! I wouldn't normally leave unhappy reviews but this has really upset me.

Went there with my mama for an evening dinner. I had a lovely Vegan Hot Dog with salad and Belgian Sugar Waffle afterwards, delicious. Great decor and friendly waiter.

Honestly one of the best places to eat in Kirkcaldy. The food was amazing and portion size! Wow! 10/10, so tasty and guaranteed you won't leave hungry. The spicy chicken fajitas were the best ive had in a long time, as were the cauliflower wings. The staff are lovely and were so welcoming straight away. The decor is so unique and a great conversation starter. It was just so fascinating. I cannot wait to return to Jocks!

First time visiting after following on socials since the start. Drinks were great but the food was absolutely outstanding! Highly recommend the Mexican pakora- I could eat that every day! 100% will be back!

Cool place but let down by very poor service. Some of the food was extremely good, tapas prawns to die for. Other food spent a week under a lamp before service. Staff were a real let down, chatting amongst themselves and not attending tables. We believe in voting with our feet, sorry won’t be back.

Not the best, not the worst either. Food was just above the average. A bit pricey considering we had only 2 starters and 2 main for almost 70 quid. Very nicely decorated inside.

First time visit, will definitely be back. The food was gorgeous (hubby says the wings were the best he's ever had - and he's had a few!), drinks were lovely, including some very nice cocktails, the staff were friendly and really efficient, and the decor is stunning. After dinner we stayed for the Abba tribute act and very glad we did. A really good night and, as said before, we'll be back.

Funky and fun atmosphere! Waiting on their delivery, so didn't have much in the form of beer choices, But the food was great.

A great wee place. The Jock's Grilled Chicken Salad I can highly recommend. There is plenty of chicken in it, which is well cooked and dressed with a pleasant spicey dressing. The tables are accessible by wheelchair.

Looked forward to our night out, party of 10. Meal was pre booked, however, took a while to come and at least all of us had an issue with our food. My Chile was cold. Food was bland, other food was over spiced. Girl did comment that several had complained about the over seasoning. Large bone found in the chicken fajitas Nobody came to ask us if everything was OK or if we needed anything, such salt,pepper and sauce. Dirty cutlery. Poor service, disappointing food. Some of us have sore stomach's.

Very disappointing 1st visit after looking forward to it and hearing so many rave reviews, used to go regularly when it was Anderson's, but first visit to the grill. Only 2 on front of house. Service was very slow, despite place not being full and walk ins turned away, as the guy tried to do everything ( the young girl was clueless and floated around doing nothing) and main focus seemed to be on preparing drinks. Took 25 minutes to take our order. Only delivered 2 out of the 3 cocktails ordered, had to ask to the missed one, other customers had to ask for their wine that hadn't been served when food arrived. Food arrived, disappointed at portion size of burrito and only small dish of chips , whereas burgers had larger portion. Kirkcaldy clucker on menu described as chicken breast, was definitely chicken thigh, deep fried and very greasy batter. Wouldn't have ordered if known was having chicken thigh. Ordered dessert, sticky toffee pudding with ice cream....stone cold!, pudding itself would have been delicious if it had been hot. Chocolate brownies with sauce and ice cream also served cold. Bitterly disappointed. £97 ...not worth the money and wholly disappointed by poor service, freezing cold surroundings, and incorrect description of food....and COLD sticky toffee pudding?? .... sacrilege.

Very tasty food, friendly and efficient staff, the place has been done up really well giving it a high quality layout and brilliant atmosphere. Highly recommend the burgers, the vegetarian burgers and the chicken wings!

Very cool new location on the high street! Burgers were delicious as always and they now have a liquor license so it was fun trying the cocktails. The espresso martini was on point.

As soon as I was seated I was told I needed to order as the kitchen was closing. We waited about 20 mins for our drinks. The food then came but they were missing sides and 2 main meals. Most of my friends had finished and then my food came out. The onion rings were cold wet and soggy and the food was well below average. The server appologied for the delay in the food coming out but that doesn't make a difference when the rest of the party had almost finished. The overall service was very poor. The staff were all behind the bar on their phones eating strawberries. We asked for the bill and we were 1 of 2 tables still in. We waited about 15 mins for the bill whilst the staff were doing nothing behind the bar so we eventually went up to pay. (if this was pay at the bar- then thst should have have been made clear as the server said she was getting our bill). Overall really didn't enjoy this place and wouldn't go back.

My first time in for an evening meal, and certainly won't be the last. The chicken fajitas were soooooo tasty - and the portion was heeeeeuge! Had a delicious coffee for afters. Very reasonably priced, I loved the quirky decor, and the staff are all really friendly. Just wish more folk would support this "hidden gem", only a short walk up Kirk Wynd from the High Street.

Really enjoyed my evening here. Starters & mains were excellent. A great relaxing atmosphere with very nice staff. Was great to pop next door to Krafty fine drinks for some beers. The only negative was the desserts which were underwhelming. Overall an excellent wee spot in Kirkcaldy and I highly recommend.

Nice little restaurant off the High St. Cool place and a nice menu but maybe a little lacking for lunch...could have done with chips instead of crisps with the burger but I guess that's personal choice! Burger was decent too. Lovely staff and a cool vibe. Will defo try the cakes next time, they looked fab.

Booked this for a Saturday night meal. When we arrived they quickly apologised saying the venue was fully booked for a private party but would still honour our table. That was absolutely fine. Food was basic but very good and very tasty. Expect things like burgers and hot dogs etc but very tasty burgers n dogs. Very reasonably priced and very speedy. Bring your own bottle too or better yet you can order from the bespoke off licence next door. Will look forward to our next trip there.

Fried Chicken was in a batter, very close to Fish & Chip. It was oily and my chicken “bites” were all clumped together. Chips were okay but not well seasoned. Mocktails were good. Quite expensive given what we got.

The chicken I had wasn't as tasty as I hoped. The batter became quite stodgy (I'm a slow eater). An alternative was given as my requested dessert wasn't available. However if I'd been asked, I would have declined the alternative and perhaps asked for something else. Corkage on large bottle is £3.50 (Oct 2022). Once the ice had melted, the lemonade tasted like it had a lot of sweeteners in it. The actual decor is fab. The staff were pleasant.

Had a great burger and chips!!!! The cheese sauce and bbq sauce were awesome; it's always the extra bits which makes the burger for me.

We thought we would give it a go because intrigued despite the prices. The good points Fast delivery and the fries were so moreish Crisp outsite fluffy inside. But The rest The bonesless chicken thighs which are fine by me, were slimy, tasteless and the batter was was as if it had been made by somebody who had never made it before, totally unseasoned as well. and greasy. The blue cheese was cooled and conjealed. The plain 3 piece chicken was the same , apart from the cheese. Waffles left an aftertaste and did not look homemade and a tiny portion of ice cream. All these comments have been made before so obviously paying little heed. I Could have spent ove £20 much much better, will not be back. Sorry, it is a shame because there is quite a bit of stuff on the menu we could have tried going forward.

The food was decent enough but there are a few flaws overall. For example: - We were sat at our table for neigh on 10 mins before we were offered menus and had to holler a couple of times to get attention regarding glasses for our drinks etc. Tip - Have the menus already on the tables to save time & hassle. - The waiting staff are very inexperienced. We asked one what the dessert of the day was and she didn’t know. Another was busy charging her friends mobile phone whilst we were waiting on someone taking our order. - Why is there a ‘free for all piano’ for anyone (mostly kids) to mindlessly hammer the ivories whilst customers are trying to eat and converse? Especially @ 8pm. Overall the food is really good but the service and little niggles lets the place down. Hopefully this gets sorted as we’d really like the business to succeed.

Brilliant all round. Nice vibes. Awesome food. Great chat. Bottle shop next door is the best.. honestly a brilliant night and can't wait to go back. I'd say don't go, only for selfish reasons so we can get a table outside and its not fully booked!

Disappointed to say the least. Ordered here a few times, food and service always been good. HOWEVER this time the food never turned up, spent the best part of £30 treating the Mrs and I after our shifts. Tried calling the restraunt using the button that Just Eat provide, number was invalid. Tried calling the mobile number that was provided on google...no answer. Tried texting no response then the driver ended up turning his tracker off and not marking it as delivered until hours after meaning Just Eat couldnt do anything. Joke of a place where they cant even answer the phone or send a quick text back. Clearly don't care about there customers, wont be back which is a shame as the guy that owns Crafty beers next door is a good lad and he was the one who reccomended the place originally :(.

First time checking out Jocks and loved it! Very cool decor, really tasty fried chicken burger, and delish ice cream. My kids loved it too because they have a play area for them as well! We will definitely be back...often!

Great little independent eatery in Kirkcaldy that has a lovely atmosphere and amazing food! Staff are great, very welcoming and the food is absolutely delicious. They also have outdoor seating and it's very child and dog friendly

I cannot even begin to describe how amazing this place is. Food was so ****ing good! Chips to die for and a banana cake that literally melted in my mouth… probably the best cake i’ve had in my life. Go!

Tapas and Live Band night Food Good but tables too small to accommodate the many bowls, therefore could not eat from my plate as there was no room. The Music was too loud for a small venue.

An oasis of cool in the Kuddy - just what we needed in the town! Great veggie/vegan food, delicious desserts, super friendly service and a gorgeous secret garden. Sshhh don't tell anyone ;)

Really love visiting this place and have been recommending it to friends and family. Amazing for a sit down lunch and catch up or just a quick sweet treat while passing. Lovely staff, great food and superb vibe! I’m not in Kirkcaldy often but I make a point of going when I am, as lovely little business like this deserves to thrive. 10/10
