Visited on an unseasonably cold Sunday morning in October. It was slightly cold in the indoor seating area and some people had their coats on whilst eating. Staff were really friendly and served up a warm hearty soup with delicious sandwiches and fresh bread. Coffee was excellent. The food was slightly expensive but I think it's worth paying a bit more to support an independent business. Would definitely return and recommend this place to anyone.

Lovely wee place. Food good quality. Brought all soup, toasty including coffee all at the one time. Not what was asked for. Full price Soup plate size has got smaller compared to last visit. Not much difference between soup and tostie size £2:50 and full plate at £5:95. Disappointing so not value for money if you like soup. Won't buy again and go to Leo's for soup next time. Selection of cakes are great and good coffee.

Best cafe in milngavie. The sandwiches and cakes are perfect. The best thing though, is the amazing staff. I took my elderly mum today, the lady serving us couldn’t have been any more kind and thoughtful. It’s really heartwarming.

Stopped after a walk, heard good feedback and decided to try for ourselves. Well will certainly be back, coffee was excellent, our 12 year old daughter declared her hot chocolate to be the best she’s had. We ordered a toastie as well as a couple of cakes and everything was delicious: Keep it up, been to other cafes on Milngavie, but they weren’t as good as Jessie Biscuit.

Stopped for lunch while in Milngavie. It's a small place with a few tables outside. Despite being busy, we were greeted and seated right away. Our order was taken quickly and the food arrived promptly. I have to say my soup (chicken and rice) was absolutely delicious. While eating, I had a good view of the cake cabinet, and it was one of the best stocked and most tempting displays I've come across in a while. All looked home made. The Empire biscuits looked lovely as did the scones. It all looked freshly made. I couldn't manage cake and coffee this time, but we will definitely return to sample them in the near future. The menu was very reasonably priced too

I have visited the Jessie Biscuit a few times and I have never been let down yet. The scones are delicious, the coffee is tasty and the staff are great, what more could you ask for!? If you want to stop in for a light bite to eat, this is the perfect place. They have a great selection of fresh cakes and sweet treats, but my personal favourite is the lemon drizzle cake. The lady serving us was very pleasant and took the time to have a chat with us. I would 100% recommend stopping in here to support a small local business.

I recently ordered an afternoon tea for two to takeaway as a gift from Jessie biscuits. I hadn’t preordered, but the ladies were really lovely and more than accommodating! The afternoon teas were beautifully presented in individual boxes. All sandwiches and cakes looked really delicious, I loved the added crisps and grapes! A real feast. Great value for money at only £12pp. I’ll definitely be ordering again this time for myself!!!

One thing you notice about lockdown is how you miss your favourite cafes and Jessie's is definitely one of my faves. Having sampled some of their sweet treats whist there were doing a takeaway service I used them during the EOTHO scheme and each time I tried a different cake, so much so that I now need to go on a diet to lose some weight. But maybe I'll go back and have another cake first?

Absolutely brilliant cafe, the perfect place for a soup / sandwich lunch, tea, coffee, cakes. Menu is straightforward, nothing particularly exotic, but we’ve been there many times and everything is always bang-on perfect. I particularly like a soup with sandwich and small salad, or the cheaper, smaller soup and sandwich combo. Everything freshly made and very very tasty. Good coffee and a great selection of cakes. Friendly staff. My two children, now away at university, always insist that every visit to Milngavie includes at least one trip to Jessie Biscuit. Only negative is that it’s quite small and you sometimes can’t get a seat.

Without a doubt, THE best place for a coffee and cake or light lunch in Milngavie. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. The cakes are all delicious and impossible to choose between. If there's cheesecake, don't miss out on a slice as it doesn't hang around (for obvious reasons). If you are looking for something more that a coffee and cake (why would you … .really), then the lunchtime soup and sandwiches are very good.Be warned, it's only a small cafe, so getting a table can be hit or miss.

My friend and I have visited here on many occasions, we met again for lunch. It was to be our last visit. First the waitress was so interested in surrounding gossip when she took our order. Food arrived but one sandwich order was wrong. When told of this the waitress showed notepad indicating she had written wrong sandwich. Sandwich was changed and delivered to table but no apology. Friend's soup plate was whipped off table immediately after she had finished and before I had stopped eating. Very rude. My plate was taken away while I was still eating. We ordered coffee which was a mixed up when it arrived. While we were having coffee, our bill was plonked on the table. On inspection of bill ,we were wrongly charged for soup and sandwiches instead of soup only. There followed an unbelievable situation. Instead of original bill being cancelled and replaced we were given the cash difference and told to pay the full bill.Have never experienced this before. IT lesson needed. Again NO apology for their mistake. Lesson here. Do Not complain .A very POOR example of Scottish hospitality for a cafe at the start of The West Highland Way.

We attended to chat about this and that and the ladies made us feel most welcome. The coffee was a great size cup in lovely porcelain and the home baked Victoria sponge was beautifully textured rich and moist with a good quality jam and presentation with strop and chantilly cream. It was the way they greeted every customer old and young, that put a smile on our faces. This is how we should all be made to feel on entering a service organisation- very welcome. I should also add the ladies are quite glamorous too which means they take pride in All they do. Well done, a Masterclass in how to offer good service from the door in to the last one out.

Just seen the review from Tallulahbelle21 and can't believe what I have just read. I frequent Jessie Biscuit and find the hard working staff very efficient and attentive. I like the atmosphere and as for the soups, pastries, scones and excellent coffees these are first class. I see the "Disappointed" reviewer has been reviewing on TripAdvisor for a number of years; so obviously likes to go public with her comments rather than talk to staff at the time with any issues that she has. Sad really ........ Anyway Jessie Biscuit keep up the good work, great standards and the great atmosphere. Thanks to all ...

Hubby and I were in the precinct this afternoon, and having some time to spare, thought we would pop in for a coffee. It was 16:44 when we went in, the sign on the door said you were open, but we were told that you were closed and you had already switched the coffee machine off. Surely it doesn't take 15 minutes to clean a coffee machine, and if it does, surely that should be done after you close, which is supposed to be 5pm. Also, how did you know that we didn't just want a cup of tea?We we thought we would give a small local cafe some business but ended up having to go to Costa instead. You did yourself no favours there.

My ham and pickle toastie with onion turned out to be a cheese, pickle and onion toastie... very disappointed that the toastie was wrong, it is not actually cooked on a proper toastie machine, so effectively just a sandwich browned. After reading the good reviews it was disheartening to be so unimpressed. Very doubtful if at least some of the home baking wasn't bought in - very heavy fruit loaf and unattractive tray bakes. We both had the goats cheese tart and the red onion marmalade tasted oddly synthetic and sickly sweet, plus it was very red in appearance. Service was adequate, tho the lady forgot our drinks order and once we had our food we were completely ignored. Pleasant interior, but very cramped.

Fabulous wee café and the baking is just delicious. My favourite is the cherry scone. Only a few tables and can be busy but worth a visit. Coffee tastes great too and staff very friendly.

Jessie Biscuit is an adorable, wonderful place to enjoy a meal, a lovely cup of tea, or a yummy baked good. As I was walking from the train station to the starting point of the West Highland Way, I decided to stop by this café in Milngave. I am so glad I did! The décor in the shop is simply delightful. The food looked so scrumptious. I really wanted to enjoy a nice lunch there before I began my journey, but I only had time to pick out a baked good to enjoy as I walked. I decided on a scone with cream, which was AMAZING! Quite simply, the best scone I've ever eaten. While the food and ambiance are wonderful, I think that this place is truly special because of the people. Everyone there had a beautiful smile and kind word to share. Nyree and Suzanne were two of the kindest, warmest people I have ever met. They took the time to give me some very helpful tips for my walk along the West Highland Way. When it was time for me to start my journey, they sent me off with tasty sandwiches and tablet just to make sure that I didn't get hungry along the way.If you find yourself in Milngavie, you really need to stop by Jessie Biscuit. It was truly one of the highlights of my time in Scotland!

I had lunch here last week with my niece and her children. It's a small place, room for perhaps no more than 20 at a time, but the staff are so cheerful and really welcoming. Three of us had the half-soup-and-sandwich option, which was very good, and I was amazed that they could offer four soup choices in such a small place. The fourth member of our group can be hard to please but was very happy with his ham and cheese baguette. We finished with some of the excellent baking - empire biscuits and Victoria sponge. Four happy customers.

This is a very small but very pleasant little coffee shop right in the middle of the shopping area. The coffee is lovely and the home baking is delicious. The staff are friendly and the whole place has a nice relaxed ambience. Great place to refresh before finishing the shopping.

Very nice decor. And lovely food. Soup is delicious and they do a lovely soup and sandwich deal. Coffee is good. And the cakes are freshly made on premises. I had chocolate cake this week and it was actually light so I didn't feel too bad for eating it ! Lovely !It is small, which is part of the charm so you just have to see if you are lucky and get a seat. But if you do you are in for a treat !

The staff are very pleasant. The home baking is delicious and the coffee is lovely. As it is located right on the main street, it is easy to find. Unfortunately, it is small and therefore a bit cramped. It would be great if there were room for expansion-- perhaps one day !

Lovely welcoming staff. make this a great place for a light lunch or a cake. They make great gingerbread. They make great old-fashioned soup and the bread is terrific - from an artisan bakery. Not a wide range but everything they do is well done and coffee is ok.

I like it and so does the missus but hardly ever any cakes on offer considering biscuits is in the name. Nice enough staff and a real change in décor from what it used to be.

Was in/sitting outside in the horrid rain because we brought the dog (silly us) a few weeks ago. Therefore it would be unfair to comment on food or atmosphere (seeing as we never experienced either) but the staff were lovely and the coffee and good selection of tea warmed us up. Thanks guys.

Ordered via JustEat. One of two subs was made with the wrong bread and the bread for both was stale and hard. It was hard to tell if there was any cheese in them at all. Worst subway experience to date.

Visited on a Saturday morning. This place is very popular but they manage to turn over the tables quite efficiently. I had the big breakfast which was fantastic, warm and hearty and filling. I don't normally fancy bacon but this was done really well at Cafe Alba - crisp in all the right places without being too dessicated. Good coffee too. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Milngavie.
