That is by far the nicest jerk chicken I’ve had. Nothing on the bone all nicely diced. I had medium heat sauce with rice and coleslaw. It was absolutely banging and I will return. Super friendly staff and didn’t have to wait long at all. Highly recommend because a good West Indian take away is not easy to find. Loved it, thanks 🤩

Worst carribean food ever. Do not order.

Unfortunately this restaurant did not live up to my expectations. The service was nice the server was very friendly. However the food disappointed. They ran out of coleslaw and vouched for steam veg, except I got frozen veg. Me and my partner got the boneless chicken with rice and the whole meal was very dry. They did not add any sauce it was very dry. The heat level I asked for was medium instead I got extremely hot, I was unable to enjoy my meal. Wouldn’t recommend

I try to support my own but sometimes you have no choice. The mac & cheese was awful. It's clear you're using a cheese sauce and that's it. There was no grated cheese in it. I bought two portions, one for the next day, but threw it away. There was no flavour to it whatsoever. Definitely won't be ordering that again

Very good vibe and energy in the shop. Not like your typical Caribbean takeaway. Glad they are not just following the stereotypes. Food was excellent. Glad they are here and will be my new regular

Package is unsustainable and not sealed, anyone delivering the food has easy access to it. The dumplings were completely raw on the inside. The rest of the food is nothing special. Definitely not worth it.

Ordered rice and peas with curry goat. Friendly team, lots of laughs on arrival, food was served and packaged promptly for take away. I was holding other items and was offered a bag which was nice. But back to the food, it was great. Will definitely visit again when in Barking

Got cow skin soup and chick pea curry and coco bread, It was lovely. Full of flavours. Staff were very friendly and service was quick and professional.

I used to order from here a few years back and fort I would treat myself as I haven’t in a while but the standard off food has dropped a lot I remember getting the jerk chicken and used to be the best in east London was so tender and the jerk sauce was mouth watering, but it’s changed the jerk chicken just didn’t have that bang and the sauce was missing that flavour the portion size was good value but won’t see myself back here for a while

Ordered Curry Goat and Rice (Large) (£13.50) Curry Goat ⭐️⭐️⭐️ WASN’t fresh and didn’t taste anything like curry goat. Must’ve been reheated. Rice ⭐️⭐️⭐️ JUST OK but reheated Coleslaw ⭐️ Had to throw away. Tasted like CARAMELIZED APPLE. As you can see it’s pink and mushy vs the Sainsbury’s coleslaw which I fortunately had in my fridge Overall, WOULDN’T recommend if you want an authentic Caribbean experience. Would return but only if I’m starving hungry and there’s no other option. PS portion size was decent

I ordered on deliveroo. When the food arrived it was spilt all over the bag. Zero care and attention was taken when preparing my meal for delivery. I ordered a medium size jerk chicken and white rice, the portion size looks a like a child size, I received 4 peices of Jerk Chicken, compared to my husband's large size, where he got so much chicken. Tried to call the restaurant and ask them of this is normal but obviously no answer. Pictures as evidence.

This shop was lovely when it first opened but it has declined ever since , always new staff it’s like the manager doesn’t pay them & they all look misarable in there apart from the boss , I had jerk chicken from there after like a year and it was trash …. So was the rice , they should make it how it was before and stop being cheap,such a shame because it was one of my favourites.

Bought jerk chicken in cocco bread . It wasn't nice very bland and not well presented. Total didn't listen to how I asked it to be. Also bought a pattie wasn't nice either. Second time I've been there both times very disappointing.

I used to frequent this place before it was really nice authentic jerk chicken, but it has really gone down hill and hit rock bottom got the jerk sandwich that had a different price in the window and different price on the menu and different price when being charged. Almost twice as much as what it’s advertised at. The coco bread was dry, solid and crumbly like a biscuit as you can see in the picture. The coleslaw looked and tasted old. Don’t go off the picture because what turns up is completely different, instead of burger cheese as shown they’re using grated mozzarella. I was very disappointed.

Ordered a medium jerk chicken, there was about 6 very small cubes of very dry chicken in the meal that just had the texture & taste of food that has been left out.. I've never had jerk chicken like this before, disgusted & disappointed tbh.

I ordered Jerk chicken rice meal X2, + 1 coleslaw: £33 Rice was piping hot, the chicken lacked flavour (maybe due to lack of sauce in the portion size). First time ordering medium, portion was okay, second time I chose large, (for an extra £3), and all I received was extra rice which I could make the same portion for 50p at home, also this made it taste a little dry. I also ordered extra coleslaw as the first time I ordered, the portion wasn’t enough. I was expecting at least a fair portion when paying £3 for extra coleslaw, second time ordering. Apart from that it’s a decent restaurant when you don’t have many other options. A little extra sauce and better rice:chicken ratio would make a great difference :)

This place has the best tasting Caribbean food I have ever tasted. Especially the jerk chicken. I would highly recommend this place to all not just Caribbean food lovers but to all. Amazing and delicious 👍👍😊

Worst food ever I ordered rice and peas with oxtail Just took 2 spoons,the rice tested burn ,the oxtail just got bones no meat at all Since yesterday I have diarrhea When you call to complain they say sorry Please never order in that restaurant 😫

Spent £40 on curry goat bone and rice basically. Then when I called up to make a complaint I was told "the food is the food" and "if you're complaining about the food then you're bugging" by a very rude young boy. First time buying from here was lovely but this was the second time and the last time. This place won't make it very far with the appalling quality of food and customer service. If I could give no stars I would.

The food is definitely reheated, they might aswell rename themselves to Yesterday’s Jerkpit. It also lacks authentic taste. When the restaurant opened it was an amazing find and has clearly gone down hill since. A real shame, my husband and I won’t be ordering again.

Ordered here for the first time the macaroni and cheese had burnt pieces of pasta inside and the sandwich with jerk chicken was not so tasty the bread was really soggy and they missed my coleslaw

Uff you should try their jerk chicken, you could choose how hot you’d like your sauce - if you can handle decent amount of spice go for medium. Also try their southern fried chicken.

I've been in there 3 times, the 3rd time it seemed like the food just gone downhill, walked past there numerous times.....has management or owner of this company been taken over.......

Overpriced rubbish. £13 for oxtail and rice, and not 1 single decent piece of meat. Just bones with no meat attached to them. How miserable and mentally poor can someone be, to feel ok serving people bones? Then the rice was completely dry because they were stingy with the sauce. Too greedy, such greed should be criminalised. I deserve a refund. Definitely won't go again, even if I'm starving.

The food is very delicious but unfortunately the sevice let them down. You need to wait to long to get your food, if they will manage to make everything in time it will be the Best take away in Barking.

The 35 to 45 min delivery time estimate was more like 2 hour. The food is good but not worth the wait, wouldn't bother again.

Very disappointed with my order, I ordered a large oxtail with rice and peas and with no exaggeration I had about two small pieces of meat in my container and the rest was literally bone with no meat on the bone! just bone and it was obvious they tried to make it look full by putting way too many dumplings in instead to bulk it up the rest was just rice and no sauce from the oxtail so was it was dry, it was terrible I basically at a large portion of rice with dumplings! Never will I order again.

The chicken is of poor quality the steam veg is to salty and mushy .. not authentic make your own sauces instead of a bottle

It was just horrible, I ordered a salt fish fritter and it was just drenched in oil they don’t even bother to drain the oil out and to make things worse it wasn’t even made fresh it tasted like it was made a week ago and so did the rest of my food. THE FOOD IS NEVER FRESHLY MADE EVERYTIME I ORDER!!! Who knows how long the foods been there for. Overpriced as well, avoid this place at all costs

First time having food from here & most likely the last time too. We had Jerk chicken with rice and peas, fried chicken and Curry goat with rice and peas (which was suppose to be with white rice) but the rice was nice & the peas weren’t hard so I didn’t mind. The fried chicken smelt & tasted fishy (I don’t like/eat fish. ) The Jerk chicken was actually nice, I enjoyed it. BUTTT THE CURRY GOAT….was foul ended up chucking a majority of it away only ate the rice as the meat had a really weird smell and taste, it tasted metallic. I’ve never had a metallic curry goat before until now💀 Overall I won’t be getting food from here again, a bit disappointed tbh as some people hyped this place up 😬

Similar sentiment to the lady below. The food didn't taste fresh. I love caribbean food and ive tasted some really good ones. Some of the chicken was cold/lukewarm, rice was piping hot. Aside from freshness and temperature the flavour of the chicken wasn't intense enough. It tasted like it was made for a European palette. There wasn't enough scotch bonnet or thyme coming through. The mac and cheese was the worst part. I was expecting so much more after reading the description. There wasn't any sharpness from cheddar or any colour to the sauce. The cheese sauce looked like it was just bechamel with some red pepper added in. It looked (and tasted) like an old mac that had grated cheese thrown on top then grilled. My partner had the brown stew chicken. It was average at best, but looked nice. Disappointing. I personally didnt finish once I tasted some cold chicken. I was a bit concerned about food poisoning. To end on a positive note though, the coleslaw tasted really good. Wish it wasn't all grated so small like baby food, but the flavours were there. Sweetness with a bit of kick.

Listen… I have my own food business (asorockFood.com) - it’s Nigerian. But I love to to try other nationalities, JERK PITT is simply FANTASTIC. I have tried it a few times now, my personal favourites are jerk chicken and the brown stew chicken…. Lisssstenn people, I am not getting paid to write this review I just think that when you find a black business producing such great food we should celebrate that. In the black community far too many people do not share their good experiences on review platforms like this, but are very quick to write a bad review after 1 bad experience. I have only just discovered you, but I’m confident I will be returning again and again. - well done!

Used to be a good takeaway spot once upon a time. That is no longer the case. They have reduced the portion sizes. The rice and peas is very bland (no taste at all). The jerk chicken is ok. The dumplings were so salty I couldn’t eat them and the plantain is very dry. Just a disappointment overall

My sister ordered some food from here yesterday and we have not received our meal. We’ve been calling all morning with no response. We would like a response ASAP. We want our money back. We have receipts of the purchase as well. Wednesday the 18th of may: It’s been three days since and we still have no response. I’m going to have to go in and get a refund in person.

Wish I'd read some of the reviews on here before purchasing food. I'd STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. The food is quite bland and just doesn't taste right....feels like its been reheated. I'd guess that its not made fresh every day. Jerk chicken itself is quite pitiful. Waste of money. Absolutely inedible rice and peas with jerk chicken. I odered jerk chicken with rice and peas, steamed veg with medium jerk sauce on Uber eats. I asked for jerk sauce and got none, I received the dryest chicken I've ever had in my life and under cooked rice that was so hard to swallow that I had to bin it. I'm shocked and disappointed in the lack of attention to preparation of the meal

This place is absolutely disgusting poor excuse for a Jamaican restaurant. They call it jerk pit but the chicken taste like oven Jerk. The food is cold and taste like fridge. It’s all left over food for god knows how long the curry goat was vile looked like they scrapped the bottom of the barrel , there was no potato and no gravy just dry and chewy. This place is a absolute disgrace to Jamaican food and our culture. Wouldn’t recommend this shop to anyone it deserves to get shut down . Down to the Mac and cheese is dry and rubbish. Pls if you want any decent Jamaican food do not go to this place my stomach is hurting after eating some of this food waste of money completely!

I order fried chicken, jerk chicken wings, festival & plantain. The wings were ok and tasty enough. However the festival were very rubbery & disappointing. I would order from here again, but bear in mind the food doesn’t travel well, so can arrive a bit luke warm or soggy.

Food was great. I have ordered loads of times. Its 5 star for me. Even when they Did not have the flavour of juice I wanted, they used their discretion and gave me another flavour and a jerk sauce which I forgot to order. Their food is neatly packed too. I ordered once and now I am hooked.

Jerk Pit, I ordered two meals from you via your website Sunday evening, order number: 21056846 Upon eating I found an eye lash in my food and my girlfriend nearly choked on a piece of plastic please see attached pictures. This was ordered from the store in Barking. I'm upset as the food was good but the handling of food was not. Sent an email to them as no one responded to it, so posting here, I would say becareful when ordering from here as the handling of food seems as if its not safe and could endanger someone. How nobody spotted it, is frightening luckily nothing happened to her.
