Says enjoy but we don’t have it

Order was late, food is normally lovely but it wasn’t great today and was cold. They report the order was delivered on time, however it was over 2 hours late from that time. Tried ringing 3 times snd was sent to voicemail, and eventually got through and was told the order was on its way and would be maximum 10 minutes… it did not arrive for 40 minutes.

Order was never delivered? Phoned restaurant multiple times and went to voice mail. Terrible service.

Ordered fr Deliveroo yesterday and superb service, Tash fantastic customer service very helpful and chef Keon owner’s fantastic authentic Jamaican taste. It’s our 1st time to order fr jerk island grill and they did themselves proud. The Goat curry , tasted fantastic at 1st tasted mind with a kick once it savoured in the mouth… we loved it! The Stew chicken, sweet and spice and fell off the bone which made u want more. The chicken salad nice to add to meal, rice and beans 🫘 emmh. Over all Excellent, highly recommended Jamaican Restaurant/takeaway. I wasn't impressed by the food. The plaintain was very dry and hard. The coleslaw I thought was homemade, but was store bought and wasn't nice. The rice and peas was dry. The pattie was very dry. My order came to over £48 pounds and most of the food went in the bin. I should of taken pictures and put here. The only thing I enjoyed was the potatoe salad, it was okay. I'm glad I did not spend anymore money. I will not be ordering again from this place.

I am really sad to put a negative review on here, but this isn't the first time I have had issues with this company. Unfortunately the first time my order was cold and over 1hr 30mins late. Thought we'd see if it's a one off...sadly not the case. 2 hours from order to delivery overall. The food - once heated up ourselves was delicious. Sadly, I am not going to be ordering here again and seems like the management of the ordering system lets this restaurant down, which others unfortunately agree.

Took over an hour to arrive even though it’s 10 min down the road, microwaved Mac and cheese was stuck together chewy and cold, chips were stale, burger was decent but bun was soggy. Ordered a drink didn’t arrive. My order came to £40 and didn’t want to give a small freebie. Bad experience. Go to an authentic Jamaican.

The Mac and cheese was pasta wasn’t macaroni and it definitely was not a large, the plantains were burnt it was overly disappointing for the price

Beautiful food, arrived hot. However most of the ackee salt fish sauce leaked into the plastic bag x

Curried goat was open in the paper bag which resulted in the food going absolutely everywhere in my kitchen. Phoned them up to explain what had happened and although very polite they repeatedly said the food would be redelivered it sadly did not.

Food never arrived & I waited over 2 hours. So disappointed :(

Food delivered over an hour late. no answer at all from the restaurant. no reparations. food was thrown away as we cooked and ate at home. would absolutely not bother with this restaurant.

My mate let me try some if the jerk pork once and then i decided to order from here the jerk chicken the curry goat and the dumplings are to die for we now have this restaurant down for our sunday takeaway options in the office lol 10/10

It was delivered at the latest time offered, would have been great to receive it a tiny bit earlier, but all in all, it was good and we enjoyed the food! Will order again. :-)

Very disappointed on the delivery time as it was 35 minutes late so that’s nearly 2 hrs from order! I hope this is down to the restaurants food being so good? I hope this doesn’t happen again?

Great service and very accommodating. This take away has the very best jerk outside of Hackney. The plantain was beautiful and the curry goat ( boneless ??) was fabulous. Brilliant Saturday night take away

Really enjoyed the curry goat rice and peas. Arrived piping hot. Have been craving it for over a week and it definitely hit! Delivery was early, driver was friendly and polite. All round great experience, will be ordering again. Highly recommend.

This is the second time I’ve ordered from this restaurant. And I can’t believe how good the food is. I had the curry goat this time and it was amazing! The meat just melted in my mouth and the dumplings were to die for 😋

Normally food is amazing but ordered at 7.25 and it’s now 2122 and still nothing. Called restaurant food is on its way every time we call. If it ever turns up I can’t see how it will be warm.

Our first order from this outlet (Jerk Island Grill) and only our second ever Jerk Chicken, the first being eaten in the Caribbean! Well, for me EVEN BETTER than my first experience! The ‘original Jerk chicken ‘ was absolutely delicious and the sauce sublime! We had it with sides of rice & beans, bbq sweetcorn and a first for me, fried dumplings!! Blown away and definitely returning. Highly recommended!!

The portions were good. I thought it we could eat there didn't know it was takeout.

For future reference, I will go to the restaurant on weekends as they're always busy and won't be able to answer the phones. I had to ask for an update as there was no updates on my order or what's happening with my food, 1hr 45mins before my food finally arrived and it was freezing cold!!.

The food and drinks are so delicious! However, the delivery time is awful. I highly recommend whichever options you think you may like the most, but you need to be so patient as it will take a very long time for delivery. I will order again soon, but they really need to improve next time. Thank you.

What can I say…food arrived hot. Gotta be the best curry goat ever melted in my mouth. Jerk chicken juicy and smoky gravy delicious rice and peas perfect…dumplings moreish and Mac n cheese tasty good portions will definitely order again…please introduce salt fish fritters 🙏 Tell your friends decent quality food 😊

Some of the best Caribbean food I've ever had. I had the curried goat and fried dumplings. I will be back for more. I don't know how I didn't try this place sooner. A real diamond find in amongst many restaurants in Southend

Quantity not good curry goat was of the bone none was on the bone like it should be? Not impressed at all compared to my carribean back in london. Best part of the meal was the fried dumplings.

Me and my partner have been coming here for years. We love the food we always get the rice and peas the original jerk chicken and the stew chicken. We absolutely love it I definitely would recommend, delivery may be a little while to wait but it’s definitely worth it

best carribean food in southend hands down

Estimated delivery time was an hour and a half after ordering, it then took a further 26 mins to turn up.

Great food as usual but delivery time was terrible. Ordered around 8.30 and stated 30-45 mins delivery. Once order placed it stated 9.35 delivery….. food arrived 10.10 by which time my daughter had fallen asleep so her meal was wasted

I've been a few times now, the food is fantastic quality and all home made. I highly recommend the jerk pork, the smoky taste combined with the sauce was just amazing! One small complaint is the coleslaw isn't home made but.the rest of the food is just so good!

Was served mutton with strands of metal in from a metal scourer. Poor excuses considering they not allowed to be used in food establishments . They was very unapologetic . Customer lost . SHOCKING

Bland rice with no peas. Asked for veg patties got chicken. As non meat eaters this has been a total waste of time and money.

A delicious meal delivered hot. It arrived slightly earlier than the time this establishment notified me it would be delivered but this was OK as I had specified I wanted it ASAP.

Ist time ordering here. I had the goat curry & rice 'n peas. Hubby had crispy chicken burger & chips. Firstly, the chip bag was open & contents lukewarm at best. The chicken was just a strip which didn't fill the bun & hubby found hard/tough. The goat curry wasn't hot either so I had to nuke. There was plenty of meat in the curry but really spoiled by the sheer amount of salt! The rice was good. Paying £4 del (more than most) we expect the food hot at least. We won't order again which is a shame.

ok for 1 order come and was only £16 the rest I gave him a tip he forgot my drinks which I had spent 3.40 on I called straight away and was told he would bring them back half hour later h didnt come and everytime I tried to phone they cut the phone off so with drink and tip was over £7 which was totally wasted and so not happy with this

I'm surprised, usually when I order from this restaurant the food is fresh and hot. The curry goat wasn't spicy nor hot in terms of temperature, and the plaintain was still tough. The potato salad was absolutely dead in terms of flavour and texture. I'm disappointed 😞

10/10 jerk chicken cooked fresh falls off of the bone. I have tried many Caribbean takeaways and there is only 1 winner. The curry goat is perfect, tender every time. He also sells his own brand drinks that you need to try if you go there, he also sells the tastiest burgers. 👌🔥
