Japan Street Food in Renfrewshire

We went with family to introduce them to street food. Staff took awhile to even come for our order, our starters took 1hr & 15mins exactly, even though we asked several times about our order, absolutely disgraceful,when they arrived no plates,Cutlery or condiments to accompany starters. The chef had to come out to help serve us. Staff were very unhelpful, service abysmal. We also had to wait a further 40 mins for barbeque food. Such a shame as food was fantastic. We shall not be back or recommend to anyone.

Food was incredible I would have given it 5 just for the food but had to knock it down for the service. Was quite slow and don't think staff are being trained well as one of the girls didn't really know what was going on. Staff pleasant, really lovely but took my boyfriend here for his birthday and when the cake was finally brought out no one sung happy birthday so I never knew they were coming and didn't sing it to him, the cake was rearranged and mango slices were added to it. Thankfully my boyfriend likes mango but if he didn't that would have ruined the cake. Was a little jarring but I feel we enjoyed the food so much that I wouldn't want to rate it any lower. Will come back again but at least we are prepared hahah. Wish it went a bit nicer for his birthday but that's life I guess.

Used to be good. Sushi doesn't taste fresh any more. Plenty of better places at a better price

We have always loved Japan Street Food and were excited to try the new venue for the first time tonight. The food is still the same delicious quality we have grown to expect, however it was a totally different experience. Minimal decor and lack of the wee touches that made it different from, well another chain. No soy, chopstick rests, ginger, wasabi, bento box less than described on menu and the staff weren't keen to offer additional drinks, courses or ask if everything was ok. Tables around us seemed to be having a very similar time. The food is so good but I think I'll opt for take out next time. Shame.

Came along on Sunday night with my husband and little girl and food was so good. Best meal out my husband has had a while he said. Private parking and beer garden for the summer too, great find in Paisley.

Great sushi definitely worth a visit to sit in

My fiancé and I have been coming to this restaurant for 4 years and it's our favourite date night location. Food is excellent, delicious and makes us miss Japan. When we ate there tonight we had a lovely experience, food came out quickly and we had all 3 courses comfortably within an hour. The prices are honestly too low for this level of service. 3 courses each, a drink and an extra side was only £56. We will definitely keep coming back!

Comida japonesa, cerveza italiana y country y música occidental! Un combo extraño, pero extrañamente funciona! La comida era excelente, al igual que el amable servicio atento. Lamentablemente no hay cerveza japonesa disponible, así que italiano fue una segunda opción. La música country no es mi gusto, algo más apropiado hubiera sido mejor, pero supongo que no hay contabilidad del gusto! En general, disfruté de mi primera visita y sin duda volvería en el futuro.

Beautiful restaurant, gorgeous interior and great vibes. Food was absolutely outstanding. Bonus points for Maki the dog being in house - it's also dog friendly. An absolute gem of a place. Highly recommend. 🇯🇵🍜🍥🍤💗

Hemos estado yendo a este restaurante desde la primera tienda, nos encantó ya que la comida es deliciosa y se lo recomendamos a todos. Pero estábamos muy decepcionados en esta visita a la nueva tienda, el propietario parecía molesto que no habíamos reservado una mesa, la música era country y occidental, que era una opción extraña y demasiado alta, (no la hermosa música japonesa que solía sonar) Nos dieron menús para los adultos, así que pedí un menú para niños, que me dijeran que no hacen menús para niños los fines de semana, esto no puedo envolver mi cabeza! Excluir y penalizar a los niños no es aceptable porque es el fin de semana. Esperábamos 55 minutos a que llegara nuestra orden, y no éramos los únicos, la gente parecía molesta y algunos se fueron. Todos nuestros platos vinieron en diferentes momentos, a nuestra hija solo se le dio la mitad de su pedido que se terminó antes de que viniera el nuestro, se terminó el nuestro antes de que viniera la otra mitad de su pedido, que tuvimos que recordarles dos veces. Todo fue muy desarticulado y decepcionante y el propietario no parecía molestado, estoy muy triste de ver que esto le pasa a un restaurante tan encantador. Me temo que esta será nuestra última visita ya que no fue una experiencia agradable, pero sentí que no podíamos irnos ya que era el regalo de cumpleaños de nuestro hijo.

First time trying this place. Ordered via just eat for collection, arrived at stated collection time only to be told the food would be 5 minutes. This ended up being a 25 minute extra wait. Food was nice enough, nothing special. Price seemed steep for what we got for £50.

Update on my review Japan Street food responded right now to apologise and to refund my money, thank you so much. Customer service like this is fantastic.

The food was great and we all enjoyed the experience of cooking at the table. Everything was very fresh. If I could give this place 6 stars I would then want to give it seven! (ask for Tof, trust me) 👍

Conseguí una comida para llevar de aquí esta noche y no solo estaba encantado con la comida, sino también el servicio. Mientras esperaba me dieron tazón de sushi gratis y mientras me fui también me dieron extra. Hubiera sido feliz con solo una cálida bienvenida, pero fueron más allá.

Food cold, gyoza was undercooked and the noddle dish I got was so cold and bits were burnt

Arrived early and everything was nice and hot and fresh. Portion sizes are excellent too, very generous, thank you so much!

First time trying this place. Wont be the last. Had the Chicken Gyoza Dumplings for starter, they were very tasty and then Beef Garlic Teriyaki with rice for main. Rice was well cooked and the Beef was lovely in a tasty sauce. Recommended.

Unreal service from the guys at Japan Street food! The food is so good sushi is so fresh and delicious. Cannot wait until they open for dine in in their new unit it already looks so lovely!! 10/10 cannot fault them in any way

Acabo de recibir mi tercer formulario de comida para llevar. No soy un experto en cocina japonesa, pero soy un comedor quisquilloso y tengo que decir que las comidas para llevar que he tenido son de primera. Me gustaría decir que he probado diferentes platos, pero el sushi de cuervo y verduras han estado tan buenos que solo tuve que volver por más! Parece que los platos pueden contener ingredientes reales. Alimentos saludables, reconfortantes y estimulantes. Muy recomendable!

I had a fantastic experience at Japan Street Food. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The food was delicious, and to top it off, I received a surprise gift at the end of my meal, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Highly recommend for great food and even better service!

Waited more than 2 hours for the order and food had to be reheated in the microwave. Really disappointed.

The best place in glasgow area to have Japanese food. The bento-box is such bargain for money and Jessica has been an absolute star throughout our stay. Well be back at their new location in Abercorn that's for sure. Hope you are getting the same artist to decorate the new place.

Myself and my husband absolutely love sushi!! And this hit the spot on everything, amazing food, great restaurant, the staff were really friendly and accommodating. Best sushi in Glasgow!!! Hands down. Actually totally going for it here best sushi in SCOTLAND. Will definitely recommend and definitely be back.

We have eaten at Japan Street Food either dining in or takeaway and the food is always delicious and the Sushi is arguably the best in the Glasgow area. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone, the staff are lovely and the service is always great.

Regulars in here and really enjoy the food. Service can be a bit of a hit or miss. Small price to pay for the quality of the food. Been here around 15 times and never been disappointed.

I was excited to have ramen and was instead met with something you wouldn’t even feed to a dog. The smell and taste is horrific. Shame on you for asking money for this.

Quality Beef Bento Box, Delivered with care and toasty warm food... 🙏 Would recommend if unable to visit the Restaurant.

We browsed the menu and decided to order based on the delivery time quoted which was about 30min. The order was placed at 8:25pm and delivery was between 9:15 and 9:35pm, however it was not delivered until 10pm. 1h30min is far too long for delivery

We turned up quite late on a Monday night and got a nice warm welcome and nice food. Lots of interesting Japanese food on offer, we'd definitely come back.

Honestly what a GEM 💎 of a place to find! We went as was recommended by our 12 year old daughter after she had been before with her friend. She goes into high school after the summer so we let her choose where she wanted to go for dinner and we were Over the moon! Everything was so filling, tasted amazing, prices were great! Service by Jessica and Thandi made the whole experience even better as they were very attentive, patient with the order changes made by the kids 🤦🏽‍♀️😅 and was such a relaxing atmosphere! The place was so clean especially for having such lovely sticky based dishes 😁! We can’t wait to return to try even more. Thank you!!

Vi este restaurante mientras estaba en Paisley el domingo a la hora del almuerzo y decidí volver a probarlo. Bonita decoración y ambiente aunque un poco cansado. Menú decente y pedí el vino de ciruela como me encanta y no lo había tenido durante siglos, (aunque no me di cuenta de que era £ 12. 99 ) ! Los cócteles con el toque japonés sonaban muy bien. Disfruté de la sopa miso y mi marido disfrutó del katsu de entrada. Él tenía el plato de fideos de pollo y yo fui por la caja de pato crujiente con fideos udon en lugar del arroz. La caja Bento era un poco más pequeña que otras cajas dobladas que he tenido en otros lugares, pero me llenó todo bien. El propietario vino a saludar y traer entrante de sashimi de arroz de cortesía para que compartamos que era muy agradable con el wasubi y el jengibre encurtido que me encanta. Explicó que se trasladaban en unas semanas a otro lugar muy cercano por el que tendrán barbacoa y más asientos al aire libre. Así que tendremos que volver para intentarlo y desear tener un lugar como este en Cambuslang.

Always good food and great service

I went here with my pals, their food was okay, but my ramen really wasn't good, I ate my egg and the protein, and told the server I really didn't like it. Nothing was done, i didn't eat the food and yet they charged me full. Took quite a while to come out and my egg was overcooked for what I paid for was 'softboiled' very disappointing and if someone refuses your food, I don't understand why you can expect to charge for it. Edit: response to owner. My 'PALS' didn't say anything regarding the spice, which we all agreed was not a significant factor, it was primarily that you produced food I didn't enjoy. We concurred that my friends who ate completely different meals enjoyed themselves, and such the one other person there who also ordered the same type as me, ramen, tried both mine and his and claimed they tasted the exact same, in terms of spice ect. this was said infront of you. Not to mention that the staff had also noted a delay on the bar/floor due to your lateness, digging into this other team member's free time. Embarrass yourself further if you like I've worked in restaurants and should someone refuse to eat food because it was poor? You either change it or refund it, good business practice and pretty much standard.

I visited on Sunday 26th for the first time trying this place .Ordered seafood ramen and a couple of cocktails.The seafood ramen was okay but only had salmon in it which was disappointing.The cocktails overall were okay.The price was fairly average Deco was colorful and artwork was nice.overall for me I wouldn't recommend as there are better Japanese restaurants nearby.

Sitting next to a busy junction on the outskirts of Paisley, Japan Street Food is an unlikely place in a variety of ways. It belies the expectations set by it's location as it produces some of the best Japanese street cuisine I have tried in recent memory. We had Pumpkin Korroke and Chicken Tempura to start, followed by Chicken Teriyaki and Salmon Maki for our mains... Every bite was like a tiny taste of Tokyo 😀

Preciosa decoración interior. La comida era muy buena y fresca. Buen menú con gran variedad. Aparcamiento cerca. Tenemos 2 entrantes entre nosotros. Tengo que hacer sushi, que era genial. Mi compañero consiguió el pollo teriyaki que era una gran porción. Personal agradable y buen servicio.

This is my go to sushi place everything seems made fresh to order tastes amazing the garlic beef teriyaki is to die for! They provided me with soy sauce pickled onion and wasabi even chopsticks which I needed. Always five star at this restaurant and the delivery driver is so nice to always a happy man x

Authentic nigiri and good portion

Not going to rant but feedback is crucial to improvement and I want to see this place do well. I attended this place today with a friend and my other half. Service was decent but food was definitely not up to stuff. Most food was lukewarm or cold, crab was so dry and the temaki was front loaded. Rice wasn't fresh and most of the meats were not tender or cooked appropriately. I worked in this type of environment and know the challenges but the food has to improve for the customers. We didn't make a scene however didn't leave a tip or have the heart to say to the waiter. He was a nice enough guy but I think he could tell we didn't enjoy the food and could have maybe had a chat or spoke about a little off the bill. I would return if there were improvements implemented, the place is beautifully designed and had potential to rival Okome.
