Unfortunately I went into this bakery and not one of the others along main Street. There were no prices on show and I feel awkward having to ask, so I ordered 4 buns and almost fell over when she said the bill was £12.50 ...Only because of the embarrassment of other people in the queue, I would have told her I had changed my mind. How on earth can you charge so much for buns that were, to be honest, nothing special and had obviously been sitting for a while. Very very disappointed and will definitely not be back

I would like to award JamJar 5 stars - it has excellent food, good portions, and helpful staff. On a regular day it would be packed but, in this COVID pandemic the layout doesn't lend itself to internal catering, nor is there an outside terrace. Hence only 4 stars but if you are prepared to buy your food and take it away, then there is no better fresh food shop in "The Triangle". I chose it every time.

We called in for breakfast. Not their specialty I’m afraid. Scrambled eggs a l ding. All served cold. The cakes look fabulous and the coffee was great but served in rather tiny cups. So in conclusion if you want a small good coffee and a wee cream bun it should be great. Just don’t try breakfast. Staff were brilliant and the air con very effective. Visited Jamjar this morning for tea and a scone. Firstly I was impressed by the cleanliness of Jamjar and by the selection of food on offer. I opted for a fruit scone with butter and jam but as everything looked so appetising I had an oatmeal biscuit to follow. The scone was fresh, soft and tasty. The biscuit delicious. The dining area spotlessly clean and very attentive staff. Finally I availed of the restroom. Here again the bathroom was spotlessly clean. I’m going to make this a regular spot!

Have been here many times and as a family we always come here for coffee when at Portstewart. Last visit was disappointing. Our order was wrong dispite being asked twice. Two members of staff working. The one who was taking our order was too busy bossing the other staff member about orders he was working on, little attention was paid to what we asked for. To be honest I found this very intimidating and left me feeling anxious, to the point that when our order came I didn't ask for it to be changed. Jam Jar staff standards have slipped. No complaints about the male staff member who worked away while other played on her phone behind counter.

I’m in the Port 2-3 times a month, more during the summer. I spend a good amount of time in coffee shops and restaurants in the area and the food in Jam Jar I have to say is great. BUT....... the staff! Why oh why do the owners not take control of the situation and employ pleasant staff?Multiple times, on different days of the week I’ve visited, only to be faced with curt or abrupt staff! Surely, with the amount of local talent available it’s not too hard to employ the ones that can smile or exchange pleasantries? After all, it’s what the north coast and surrounding area is known for, we are not in the hustle and bustle of city centre Belfast after all.

My wife and I went in here for a snack/Lunch while on holiday in the area. The selection of homemade tray bakes , pastries and scones leave you spoiled for choice. We found the staff to be very pleasant and were given a warm welcome and asked if we were from Scotland and asked if we were on holiday and if we were having a nice time in Ireland. We both had toasted sandwiches which you couldn't have got much more into them. They were delicious and after that we had homemade scones which were to die for.You are even spoiled for what kind of scone to go for as there is a huge choice of these . Also I must say I loved the coffee. Some places coffee can be a hit or a miss but here was a definite Hit.The coffee shop was very busy when we were in and when we left there was people waiting for tables. The staff were friendly and efficient, the soup came nice and hot in contemporary pottery bowls on a long plate with the homemade wheaten bread. We were visiting the North Coast for the Irish Open this weekend. Walked past JamJar and thought from the outside it looked very nice. But unfortunately this was not the case. Ordered what we were told were 'raspberry and white chocolate scones' but there wasn't an ounce of white chocolate and they looked rather like blueberry scones. Asked for a soy flat white and was told there is no alternative option for milk, so chose an 'Americano' instead, which was flavourless filter coffee, not an Americano. The service was not very friendly or helpful either. All in all a pretty poor experience. Disappointing and not somewhere I would bring overseas visitors.

I have become a regular at this establishment and they have never failed to impress me with their helpfulness in going that extra mile, even when they are extremely busy, especially during the summer. The food is always fresh and you can even find it being baked on site. They believe in having the treats that people like, instead of having too many, which might look good but do they sell well! The new owners believe in diversifying, which is a good thing as people eating habits change. The stew goes down well(forgive the pun) at his time of the year.I especially like their scones, with home jam.I also serves as a small bakery. The only drawbacks would be its size which would make it very crowded at times, mostly in the summer.Wheelchair access is limited to the front three tables only with the toilet hard to reach.
