Fab! We came in with a 10 month old and a dog. So we aren’t the easiest customers. Service was friendly, relaxed and just what we needed. Food was quick, hot and good. Thank you !

Visited here last year and being back in Abergele thought I’d go back for a breakfast. I was very happy on my last visit and was not disappointed this time too. The food was delicious, served hot and freshly cooked with good portions. The cafe is well frequented and we had a warm welcome again from the owner. Would recommend visiting here if in town.

I've just read AJMcins comment, and my experience was SO similar. The owner was SO rude, with a horrible grimace on his face, obviously DELIGHTED to turn myself and my grandaughter away as he was ''fully booked''.... with empty tables visible everywhere. It was a horrible, humiliating experience, and the owner needs to take himself a LOT less seriously. As my mother would say ''he's far too pleased with himself''! He lacks charm and manners. It's an ok cafe, not much else, so he needs to dial it down a bit. Won't go again, he doesn't deserve it.

Thank the lord for TripAdvisor! Found this lovely little place after literally tearing my hair out trying to find somewhere decent to eat in the area! Delightful staff, very polite and thoughtful and really nice food. Proper chicken in my chicken and bacon omelette and a nice salad accompanying (you can have chips if you wish) a mug of tea is a LARGE mug! I loved it! Hubby had fish finger sandwich which he enjoyed and boys and a panini and a toastie and really enjoyed theirs. Clean and well presented, just felt the chairs on our table were a little ‘fragile’ that’s only small negative. Other than that thank you all at Jade Leaf very much. Would come again/recommend 🙂

Felt peckish on Saturday morning , so called to Jade Leaf for coffee and breakfast . Cafe pretty empty late morning , so able to get table for two . Viewed menu for breakfast options , menu lacks detail , so asked what was difference between large breakfast / small breakfast . Our server kindly advised that large breakfast was bigger - not sure if this was humour or sarcasm . That said we ordered : Drinks of pot of tea and cappuccino were excellent and piping hot . Food was another matter - English breakfast ( £9 ) was standard fayre - plenty on plate but pretty tasteless and a little greasy . More disappointing was Eggs Benedict ( £8 ) - not sure , but appeared to be hard fried eggs ( not poached ) and the sauce was more salad cream than hollandaise . That said , hunger dictated that we finished most of the food . Summary - we arrived late morning and may not have chosen well from the menu . However , food was average at very best , saving grace were the drinks . Would return for coffee and cakes , not so sure for breakfast .

Pop in every now and then for a coffee and occasional slice of cake. Nick and Moira are always very friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere in the cafe is always pleasant. We have visited this cafe several times previously- it's fine, average food, service and atmosphere and as there is a lack of options for casual eating out in the local town it has always served as a satisfactory option. Twice in the past month we have attempted to visit (myself, my mum and my toddler) and have been turned away at the door by an over-zelous owner - who, through a sickly grin, delighted in telling us "fully booked I'm afraid!" In front of the entire cafe despite multiple empty tables. I find it hard to believe that in a quiet town on a rainy Thursday afternoon the cafe is fully booked. We felt we were turned away as we had my daughter with us, who is nearly two and extremely well behaved but wasnt given a chance to even set foot in the cafe. There are no signs stating children aren't welcome but I can't think of another reason we weren't allowed in as the place was practically empty. Had they given another reason - kitchen's closed etc, we would have understood but felt embarrassed and humiliated on the doorstep for the second time in a month. Absolutely appalling! I cannot believe we were treated like this and that this gatekeeper of a cafe owner is judging potential customers the moment they set foot in his cafe. Disgusting, discriminatory behaviour. We won't be visiting again. May your regulars be enough to keep your business going, eh?

I have previously visited Jade Leaf a couple of years ago for coffee which was a pleasant enough experience. Two years on went for a Saturday morning breakfast. Disappointing and let down. The two front of house staff friendly and jovial as I remember them to be prior. Interior dated - although clean the tables were still sticky, uncomfortable hard chairs and the washrooms clean. I struggled for a healthy option on the menu and i was going to order Eggs Benedict but was told come with fried and not poached eggs and infact they don't do poached eggs at all... trade description act/mis-representation comes to mind! Crazy in an era when people are moving away from old fashioned greasy food. Ordered two fried eggs and bacon on toast. Crispy eggs and I guess bacon out of the same pan with a white grease covering and over cooked... greasy over cooked food you associated with road side cafes in the 80s and 90s. Eating the toast I found a dark hair in my mouth. Gave it to the staff who replied 'it's not mine!' The response was the cook coming out of the back and staring across at me which was rude and uncomfortable as though it was my problem... she offered no apology, no explanation, no nothing. I left the rest of my breakfast which was charged for. No return visit when there are nicer alternatives close by.

I had time to kill, as I had dropped off a friend in the local eye hospital, and accidentally stumbled across this gem of a Cafe. The food was PERFECT, (veggie breakfast), they even have the facility to play whatever music you request, Mowtown was playing when I was there, so no change needed. The only criticism I can say is that the portions are huge, and a smaller choice would be nice.I will be taking a diversion to this Cafe, whenever I travel past Abergele on the A55.

I have visited this cafe previously but just for coffee which has always been good and not overly expensive. Thought I would try the food as my usual place, The George and Dragon was closed for a funeral. I don't know how Jade Leaf can justify the prices they charge. I wondered why they didn't display a menu on their website like most places do and now I know why. I won't go into detail of what we had to eat but it really was a shocker, and the profit they must make on their food must be huge. It wasn't very comfortable or relaxing sadly as we were watched by waiting on staff continually from walking into the place, in fact I arrived a little earlier than my friends as I had come straight from work and I dared to go in and sit and wait for them..after countless people coming out from the back to stare and watch me I felt like leaving but they then arrived and we ordered. Food not great and very overpriced. My advice would be to go to the George and Dragon where you can get a great meal at a fair price and you are not watched and talked about by the staff.

Went to this place for breakfast and unfortunately I must say that it wasn’t great. The staff were nice and the service was fairly quick. But as for the food itself, not great. I ordered eggs benedict and it came out basically as a deconstructed bacon and egg sandwich. The toast was heavily buttered, the bacon was too greasy for my liking and the eggs were fried, not poached - with a load of sauce tipped on top. Not pleasant at all - this is not an eggs benedict. You’re better off just ordering a bacon and egg sandwich in this case. A little pricey for what you get also I would say.

I've used this place reasonably regularly since Nick & family opened it and never had a bad meal. I can't now stomach by the diet I used to so visits are a rare treat but everything is still well cooked with nothing too fancy attempted and nothing stingy about portion sizes - don't order a hot salad unless you have plenty of time to eat it! Decor is amusing, newspapers are varied and free, music is very interesting at times - often I've heard stuff for the first time in forty years here, Nick doesn't stick to one decade!Best daytime eating place in Abergele. Highly recommend. I notice the rather nasty (competitor's?) comment about Tesco Chili - that's the Wayfarer just up the road - the empty tins in their bin give the lie to their 'home cooked' claims.

It's a cafe, so it's not restaurant quality food, but it's good and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. It's small enough to be personal, so if you want a nice friendly place to eat, the Jade Leaf is a good choice. It's not haute cuisine, but it's as good quality as you'll find in a good pub lunch. They also have a good selection of real music and will play requests for you. I'd eat there again. If there's a down side, Abergele town centre has no parking available, but the local Tesco has 3 hours free parking, it's about 200 yards away at most.

We have been there three times in the last couple of weeks, and will definitely re-visit on our frequent trips to North Wales. We are glad to have found such a super venue, and can thoroughly recommend.

You have got to try the Eggs Benedict. Poached eggs on a bloomer crusty fresh toasted bread, with tasty bacon and hollandaise sauce, served with a proper big pot of tea. Enjoy.

This is the always the place I come to for lunch with friends in Abergele and we are never disappointed. The owners, Nick and Moira, make all their customers feel welcome and the food is consistently good and nicely presented. We chose omelette and chips and the regular breakfast and both were excellent, freshly cooked and hot! The various salad bowls are also a good choice as are Moira's home made scones! The cafe itself, although small, is well arranged, bright and spotlessly clean with newspapers provided also. In all a great place to go for coffee or lunch - or both!

looks like a thai restaurant on the outside, but inside is a lovely contemporary styled spotlessly clean cafe with relaxed but attentive staff. i can recommend the warm salad with pan fried prawns - delicious! would highly reccomend it.

We've been here a few times since coffee room closed (???) but won't go again. Why? Because we realised we had Tesco tinned chilli on our most recent trip here!! We know this cos we think its a really good quick meal at home but not to pay lots for--wake up people

This is a lovely little bo - ho coffee shop. The person who griped about prices and being "ripped off" clearly doesn't realise that you get what you pay for. The food is always lovely here, well presented, plentiful and interesting combos. The welcome is always warm and the decor is not in anyway gloomy. It's actually very arty, colourful and individual.

Went here for the very first time on Tues 22nd. Bit expensive but the good service and good meal went towards offsetting that. Restaurant rather than cafe prices for North Wales but not by any means a bad place

We went there last Weds 9th Jan. We like to treat ourselves to a full English breakfast about once a week but our usual place Coffee Room wasn't open on Weds at 9.15 tho it supposed to open at 9, so we ended up here by default really. We paid £8.70 each for a brekfast and coffee, at our usual place it would be £5.95 and just as good. Why pay nearly £3 each more for similar? Decor is like a 1970's transport cafe, uncomfortable ancient chairs and scuffed table tops. Gloomy surroundings but good quick service. Couldn't believe prices on rest of the menu!! Go for a coffee maybe but save your appetite for somewhere else and don't get ripped off here!

You are always welcomed with a warm smile at Jade Leaf. Freshly brewing coffee gives a aromatic aroma with Bistro style food, of ample proportions and excellent quality.

Nice home cooked food, friendly staff! Visited a few times now, a basis looking place but the quality and choice of good home cooked food with really friendly service keeps us coming back and recommending to family. Great value, easy access and free parking.

The ice cream was awesome and very tasty! 😊 The only let down was that the staff could have been friendlier and more welcoming (it's my first time visiting Llandudno!).

Tried to charge for a squeeze of Costco ketchup on my son’s chips after I spent £15 on drinks and chips. It’s easy to spend my hard earned money ANYWHERE else. Usually really like going out of my way to support local independent business that go the extra mile to attract more tourists to the area…. Won’t be coming back here unfortunately. Shame as the location is great. Perhaps this is a little petty, but I thought it just plain mean.
