We have been using Jade Garden for years, however our most recent visit was beyond disappointing. For orders over £25 they provide free prawn crackers. Our bill was £75 and they provided one bag of prawn crackers instead of 3 and charged us for an extra bag of them. Prawn crackers cost next to nothing to produce and they would rather charge more than keep customers happy. Furthermore they have had a major price increase, which doesn’t reflect in the quality of their food. Wont be using this Chinese in future.

Great food, great staff. Try and ring in your order as it gets very busy. If you just turn up you will expect to wait around 15 minutes but it's worth it.

I have just had a very disappointing take away meal (for the second time in a month). On both occasions I turned up early for the food and specifically asked if it had just come from the kitchen. On both occasions the food was luke warm to cold. Additionally the prices have risen by over 30% in just over 2 years. I know we have had a period of inflation but this is ridiculous! They famously only take cash but our local ATM was out of order this evening. When I said I was about £5 short and would bring them the cash tomorrow, they miraculously produced a card machine… I would avoid Jade Garden in Stow unless and until they get their act together!

Never have I eaten something so bland and disgusting from a takeaway. Lamb chewy and inedible, crispy chilli beef, what beef?! Prawn crackers, I’ve had better from a packet at a supermarket! Will never return. £40 in the bin

I thought it had amazing service and the food was very tasty. Everything prepared in good time and was hot. I would recommend to anyone visiting Stow in the World.

Good food, cooked promptly, reasonable prices, friendly staff and hot at collection (If you’re accustomed to really good Chinese food you will likely find the food disappointing as we did, however there is nothing offensive about it or the service received just nothing to write home about either)

We used to get takeaway from here regularly and it was great. Haven’t been for a while but got a takeaway tonight and it was inedible. The spring rolls tasted of old oil, the meat was tough and tasted awful and the sauces tasted like bland soup.

We had a takeaway from here during a stay in Stow, everything was freshly cooked and delicious. Excellent, prompt service also. Would recommend.

We are accustomed to Chinese take outs and this was the worst experience ever. The only reasonable dish was sweet and sour chicken which was mediocre. The others were awful, particularly the so called ribs with salt which were small bony pieces with hardly any meat coated in some some of batter to make them look more substantial. Not only was the meal awful it was expensive. There are much better places in Stow to get take out.

Very impressed with our takeaway dinner. The service was very friendly and quick. The food was very hot, tasty and good quality. Portions could of been slightly bigger but overall very enjoyable. Remember: cash only.

We wanted a quick meal for our last night on holiday and got a takeaway from here. The lady serving was friendly, polite and efficient. Our order was ready quickly and was still piping hot when we got home. Generous portions and really tasty food. Very good value. Highly recommended. In our three weeks of driving around England this turned out to be the best meal. What has happened to good pubs in England?

After having made 3 phone calls and put on hold, I decided to place the order in person at the takeaway. Of course, I couldn't even do that without being asked to wait once I had reached the service point. I waited a reasonable 25 minutes for me food to be cooked. Once I got it home the containers had child sized portions of food in. The food was barely warm. The crispy chili beef was soggy child beef. The egg fried rice had no egg in it. The 1/4 of crispy duck for pan cakes was more of a 1/4 of a soggy sparrow and the chicken choi mein was chicken flavoured noodles. Poor service Poor value for money

I always look forward to the spotless Jade Garden's delicious food; it's not disappointed in over 8 years! The staff are delightfully friendly and very efficient.

We popped in one evening to order a takeaway and were greeted by a wonderful young woman who took our order, the welcome makes all the difference.We returned in half an hour to collect our order and were pleased with it and felt it was all tasty and hot, well cooked and delicious. Cash only.

So disappointed with our takeaway. The member of staff who served us was friendly and helpful, the service was prompt but the food was pretty bad. The crispy chilli beef was soggy not crispy, the chips were a bit soggy and the sweet & sour chicken was soggy with the batter coming off it. The duck with pancakes was nice but the rest of the meal was a real let down. I wouldn’t recommend I’m afraid.

Went to this takeaway based on some good reviews. Think I must have gone to the wrong place. The special fried rice was tasteless had 2 bits of chicken and a couple of small prawns and it was stone cold. The chicken dish was worse. Chicken was slimy and undercooked as was the slimy batter it was cooked in. Vegetables were undercooked and rock hard again it was stone cold. Think I can say this was the worse Chinese takeaway I've ever had will never return.

Ordered a huge takeaway and all was hot and delicious... wished it was our local takeaway ! The crispy lamb was stunning and the egg rice delicious. Hubby loves the salt ribs and my capital ribs were lovely. We had to leave a bit as were greedy. Would order again if we stay in Stow again

We come here when we're in the area and usually more than once but not on this occasion. We felt the quality of food wasn't up to the usual standard that we have had in previous visits. Both the dry and with sauce BBQ spare ribs were very bland no BBQ flavour at all. The rest of the food was ok but just ok.

Went to Jade Garden for the first time this evening and it won’t be the last. We ordered about £50 worth of food and waited about ten minutes. The young lady who served us was lovely and spoke perfect English.

Having read the reviews I was slightly reticent but I have no idea what they were talking about. Perfectly good Chinese food. Had a variety of dishes and no issues with any of them. Happy to recommend it.

I ordered duck shredded rice with duck and plum sauce. Tasted a bit funny in my humble opinion but it’s not the worst thing I’ve ever had. I’m sure some of the other dishes are better. Don’t write them off

Upon our return to Stow we had decided on a takeaway, as we'd had a number of great meals before. Finding the menu on the internet revealed the poor recent reviews, which didn't put us off but made us wonder!We had nothing to worry about - our food was as delicious as always. The Quarter crispy duck was moist and plentiful, too much for 2 people! The mains of a king prawn dish, a chicken curry and Singapore vermicelli were excellent, as was the spring roll starter. We will definitely be continuing to use this takeaway, which has such a friendly and obliging host to greet customers.The only (small) drawback is they don't take card payments!

Standards have deteriorated greatly. Chicken dry which maybe an indication of food being warmed up. They will have to improve before going there again

Great phone order and polite staff, that’s where anything positive ended. This was truly the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. Limp, empty spring rolls, dry duck, burnt and chewy satay, crispy chilli beef that was neither crisp, or tasted of anything chilli or similar to beef. It all looked and tasted old and very, very wrong.

It’s always been difficult to find quality Chinese food in this country, but this was probably the least inspiring Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. All three dishes we tried were bland with no trace of any garlic, ginger or the advertised chilli. Chicken portion was generous, but it was the usual water injected variety found in most Chinese restaurants. Only a heavy splash of soy sauce and hot sauce saved the day.

Pretty good takeaway, food is of a good standard and very well priced. Friendly helpful staff and the place seemed very clean.

Comí un chino de Jade Garden, ya que no pudimos entrar en ningún restaurante porque estaban llenos. Qué gran decisión fue esta. Recogidos y devueltos a nuestro hotel (con su consentimiento). Teníamos medio pato crujiente, pollo al curry, bolas de pollo agridulces, pollo con limón y jengibre y arroz frito con huevo y definitivamente fue el mejor chino que hemos tenido en años. Se lo recomendaría a cualquiera que necesite una comida china o rápida y si alguna vez en Stow on the wold nuevamente considerará pedir nuevamente desde aquí.

Nicest Chinese we have ever had. Not greasy and not so coated with sauce so you can actually taste the ingredients. Tastes fresh and light and it’s not stodgy! Staff were fab

Me llevé algo de aquí anoche durante el encierro y realmente deseé no haberlo hecho. Fue la peor comida china que cualquiera de nosotros había tenido.La sopa agridulce para empezar sabía algo bien, pero tenía la textura de gelatina espesa. Siguió cuarto de pato, bueno, los panqueques, la cebolleta y el pepino estaban bien (es difícil equivocarse) pero el pato (sin triturar) estaba grasoso y no tenía mucha carne. Como plato principal, mi esposa comió pollo chop suey y yo comí pollo con chile Kung po. Su cena fue directamente al desperdicio de comida que estaba tan mal. Seguí luchando porque tenía hambre, pero fue horrible y me siento mareado a la mañana siguiente. Incluso las galletas de gambas eran pesadas.No volveremos.

Staying nearby for a few nights we ordered a Chinese takeaway. Service was very quick for freshly cooked food. My king prawns were really good and not chewy as they can be if cooked badly. Chicken satay skewers were also very good. Would happily order again if I’m in the area.

Mi prueba para cualquier restaurante chino es si pueden hacer un buen calamar de sal, pimienta y chile. El Jardín de Jade lo hizo, ¡y cómo! Exceptional service and delicious food. This is a take-away establishment. You can ring up and order what you want and it will be waiting for you to collect in about 30 minutes. Or you can just go in and place your order and wait on the premises. Perfect.

Como la única comida china para llevar en Stow on the Wold, eres un público cautivo, eso dice que no es la mejor comida china que hemos comido, pero ciertamente tampoco es la peor. A un precio razonable, tuvimos 3 platos, carne de res, cerdo y pato, arroz hervido y galletas de gambas. Todos estaban bien cocinados, presentados y sabrosos.Conveniente para nosotros ya que nos quedamos a solo 50 metros de distancia, así que fuimos dos veces durante 14 noches en Stow.

An excellent Chinese takeaway with a good menu and very quick service, you are even asked how you will take to get there if you order by phone. Closed Tuesdays, but aren't they all? Do you know the reason why?

We got a takeaway from here on Sunday evening. The dishes were very fresh and tasty. The menu was very comprehensive and would satisfy most people. The service was friendly and efficient.

We bought a takeaway from here one evening and we thought that the food was very tasty. Friendly lady serving and the food was cooked quickly and was lovely and hot. Decent prices and a good selection of food on the menu. Worth a visit.

Every other restaurant was fully booked yesterday, so we reluctantly got Chinese take-away. We were very pleasantly surprised. My family raved about the black bean chicken, lemon chicken, chicken noodle soup, and spare ribs. I really enjoyed my chicken and pineapple, and my son's chicken satay skewers were the best I have ever had. The mini spring rolls tasted a bit odd, but the price was certainly right- $50 for 5 for dinner with some leftovers. Hard to beat!

Not sure why this place has any poor reviews this place is amazing. Staying locally and fancied a chinese, brilliant portions and really tasty. The meat was really tasty and plenty in the dishes. Sauce was not gloopy . A really amazing takeaway

Nos alojábamos localmente y decidimos darnos un capricho para alejarnos de Jade Garden. Debo decir que fue el MEJOR chino que he tenido en mucho tiempo. Teníamos bolitas de pollo agridulces, arroz frito especial, carne de res, cerdo y champiñones, mini rollitos de primavera y pollo satay en brochetas. El servicio fue rápido y amistoso. La comida estaba caliente y sabrosa. Estacionado justo afuera también. Sin duda volveremos la próxima vez que estemos en la zona!

¡Ordenamos desde aquí un domingo por la noche como un regalo después de tener gemelos recientemente! Pedimos unos cuantos platos diferentes que cuestan más de 30, me dijeron que viniera después de 15 minutos. Cuando llegué a casa sacamos los platos y puedo decir honestamente que nunca he visto nada tan mal ni tan insípido. Las costillas de barbacoa estaban en una salsa acuosa y parecían algo que le darías a un perro. La tortilla de pollo era verde y la carne picada de chile estaba claramente en el microondas, ¡ya que era un desastre empapado! El resto de los platos eran igual de malos! Estamos lejos de ser quisquillosos cuando se trata de un chino, pero es muy decepcionante cuando pagas por algo que acabas de poner directamente en la papelera.

Pedimos desde aquí hace un par de semanas y disfrutamos de nuestra comida. Teníamos pollo a la sal y pimienta, chips de sal y pimienta, arroz frito, chow mein, brócoli al vapor y una salsa de curry, que solo llegó a 20. La comida era deliciosa y estaba muy caliente, aunque las sal y las papas fritas no eran las mejores que había probado y eran una porción muy pequeña.

Of the 6 of us who had a take away, half loved it and half were disappointed. Ordering it and collection was straight forward, the portions were large and the meat tasty. One got something slightly different to what they ordered and another got something totally different to what they expected. I enjoyed mine though :-)

We went to Jade Garden while on a short break in the area. For a quiet area this place is so busy which says one thing to me - it must be good AND it is good. One of the best chinese takeaways I've had. That good, we went again the next night.

We had a family gathering near Stowe; in the early evening folks started getting hungry again so we thought we'd try The Jade Garden. They produced a dinner assortment for 12 at very short notice and it was superb. There were actually 17 of us and there was still enough left over for most to have 'seconds'. I lost count of how many dishes there were but I think I sampled all of them!

Have used this takeaway quite a few times on our way back from Gloucester but the meal we had this Saturday was one of the worst takeaways I've ever had. The beef in green peppers and black bean sauce was swimming in oil, as were all the dishes. We could not eat it as it all had a layer of oil in each dish and unfortunately we live too far away to take it back but will definitely not be stopping off there again. Very disappointing and expensive meal for our bin.

We drive here from chippy as all the local places are vile. Food is nice. Not a vast selection but will satisfy a basic Chinese craving. Good waiting times even when very busy and staff are always polite.

Take out chinese ,due to busy wedding weekend and a after wedding feast This was amazing ,lots on the menu to choose from , we had chow mein,special fried rice ,chicken balls,curry sauce good value for money ,good portion size .very popular

Staying nearby so thought we would try as we love a good chinese take away. Beware this is cash only, but there is a cash point a few minutes walk up the road. Staff friendly and service fast. We had crispy beef, sweet and sour chicken, chicken skewers and plain noodles. Beef was great, noodles very good, sweet and sour had a great flavour but the chicken had a strange texture, so soft it was almost mushy. Chicken skewers were strange, we expected a sauce but no sauce and they were dry and black. Over all nice but I wouldn't make a special trip

Our family holiday was coming to an end and as it was the final evening no one wanted to cook, so a local takeaway was the choice (Chinese being the favoured one by the majority of the party).

Perfect takeaway in Stow. Crispy pork was a winner. Everything we ate was spot on. 25 pound fed a family of four.

Pasamos una semana en Stow. Encontramos este llevar sólo un restaurante chino. La comida estaba buena y caliente. Sólo tome la salida. . No comer en. Visitamos dos veces durante nuestra estancia. Todo es a la carta. . . a un precio razonable. No es el mejor que he comido, pero la comida muy buena.

The building the takeaway is situated in is really nice and the food was top notch. Four of us shared half a dozen dishes and they were all very good and most enjoyable. One of the nicer Chinese takeaways that I have had recently. The prices are reasonable too.

Having spent Mother's Day consuming quite a large amount of alcohol the inevitable munchies kicked in about 8pm.We only had a half duck and the pancakes but they were delicious.

We had no phone signal where we were staying so we called in to place order and then went for a drink whilst waiting. Food was very good and decent portions.

We are family of 4 people from Thailand. We are familiar with Chinese food. The food here are fairly good,even though they are a bit oily for us. The waiting time was not so long. The service was Ok. We accept that the price is a bit high. But comparing to the restaurants around, it's acceptable.

Myself and my family are regular customers and have been for years.The last few times we have been we have been very disappointed with the service from a young man behind the counter when our order was messed up. Upsetting when we enjoy the food, but don't think we will returning.

Visited recently for a takeaway. Be aware this business only excepts cash which can be an inconvenience. I personally thought the food was extremely over priced and very average. Unfortunately this is the only local Chinese takeaway, so unless you fancy driving miles you are pretty limited around Stow on the Wold!

The take away does not do delivery. Over £20 for ONE main and ONE rice and TWO starters. The most expensive take away I've ever ordered from. More expensive than LONDON!! The food was very average, especially for the price. I received a fake £1 coin too in change that I didn't realise until the following day. I wouldn't recommend as there are so many other places you can spend your hard earned cash in!

Having lived in China and Singapore, this place is not bad. Be aware that it ONLY offers takeout. Food was pretty good and the serving sizes excellent. Prices were refreshing for the Stow restaurant scene.

Decent sized portion. Not overly MSGed. A better than average Chinese take away which apparently has been around for a while. Waiting area is vey comfortable and spacious - which is important but rare for take away shops in England.

Recommended to us by our host. It is what it says - a Chinese takeaway. Large portion sizes and generally tasty. We didn't go for anything too exciting and stuck with chicken noodle dishes which were similar to what you would expect from any Chinese takeaway. We rang in our order and it was ready within 10 minutes for us to collect. If you want something quick and no fuss, this is a good choice.

Not quite what my American palate was expecting, but the take away was plentiful, the taste was fine, and the price was good.

We have order takeaway for here on occasions. Not a big fan of this type of food so generally stick to the boring stuff sweet and sour/ chow mien. The food always arrives quickly and hot it always seems busy.

We have eaten at many places in Stow and the standard is very good. We have never been disappointed and this follows the trend. A very good takeaway. Authentic and good service.

I am fairly local to Stow On The Wold, and although not a huge fan of any form of take-away food I do regularly use this one as the food is exceptional.Also, having a wife that works in the restaurant business, word soon gets around about the retaurants that are not meeting food safety standards. Word also gets around on the ones that are well maintained and have good food and kitchen hygene, and the Jade Garden Chinese take-away comes out top. Not only that, the food from there is always excellent quality and piping hot, the service is always friendly and quick. I am baffled why another reviewhere, that is written by someone that doesn't even like Chinese food! Perhaps they should only write about things that they know about and abstain from commenting on food that they don't like!

Went here last night (23/08/2013) and it was terrible! i'm not the biggest fan of Chinese food anyway, but i will eat it. However, on this occasion i couldn't, i ordered boiled rice and Kung Po Chilli Chicken, i ended up getting egg fried rice and something that was meant to be chicken in some nasty red sauce with some green leafy bits in it. I get that kung po is meant to be sweet, but this was OTT and i ended up putting it the bin and stopping off at tesco on the way home.my advice is to bypass this place and stop off at the Indian next door

Ordered from here on our first night away in the Cotswolds. We had chicken and cashew nuts, king prawn and mixed veg, chinese curry, with rice and some plain chow mein.It was all very good with a good flavour. I was most impressed that the sauces on the dishes did not appear to have any MSG in them as most Chinese takeways do. They all looked freshly made, whereas my local one back home is always thick and gloopy.Many thanks Jade Garden!

I have been having Chinese takeaways from here for over 7 years. It serves fairly good quality food and a quality that would would expect from a take away, not a Resturant. The menu hasn't ever changed which is disappointing but the prices have slowly gone up. Although its a good, quick and easy solution for dinner, I really cannot say it is anything special. The food tastes nice, but there is never any "wow" factor in what they serve up. It would be nice to see something different on the menus. In a relatively upper class area, I would have hoped for a better quality take away. However it's the same as most other Chinese take always I have been into.

We like to have a takeaway at least once a week, usually on a Saturday after I have been at work all day. Have got to say this is the best food we have tasted and have never had a bad meal in all the years we have been coming here. Jade Garden has a brilliant reputation and after tasting their food it is easy to see why. Thank you Jade Garden you never fail to feed us well.

Have visited may times, great food. Its a local chinese and every one i know goes there. Never had a bad meal. Good prices, i would definately reccomend
