The very worst chips I've EVER had!!!!! Just fancied a snack after watching g a play at the barn, popped into marks kitchen and ordered the chips with curry sauce, walked home which is less than 10 mins away and opened the chips, not sure how anyone can make so Tho g as yummy as chips taste so bad, won't be goi g back for anything else

We had a bad experience over a year ago however though we would try it again this time was worse definitely steering clear in future

Always popular on any day of the week. One drawback is they only take cash, so even if ordering over the phone, you need to remember this. This is only a takeaway service so difficult to comment on atmosphere.

Ordered the he set Dinner for 2 last night on the phone , the food was ready exactly when they said would be for pickup. Extremely generous portions, decent food . Very good price and service, great for evening takeout, totally recommend

My wife and I had a takeaway from here recently. Firstly , they don’t take card payment , cash only ??? Guy behind counter friendly enough . Food was horrid, very salty, sauces were gloopy and full of MSG. Didn’t seem to be freshly cooked . Chicken very poor quality and chewy. Can’t recommend at all and won’t be returning

In all the time I've lived in Cirencester never tried marks kitchen before,gave it a try had chips and sweet n sour pork,I'm sorry but i won't be going back,the chips were frozen I'd bet my life on it they defo wasn't proper chips,the pork was extremely chewey and I've got to say the sweet n sour sauce was to strong,mark u don't give frozen chips out to customers,was not worth the £9 spent,you need to raise your standards and rapid in fact u need Gordon Ramsey.

Awful with a capital ‘A’. Food bearly edible and to top it all I found not one but TWO hairs! Spent £55 and it was an absolutely shocking. Called the guy and he wasn’t interested, telling me I must be mistaken (!!) You can see the amount of ‘Terrible’ ratings they already have and can get an idea that others think similarly. One star is way too generous but trip advisor doesn’t allow you to rate less! DO NOT WASTE YOU MONEY. There are other Chineses in Cirencester that are a 1000 times better. You have been warned.

We have a takeaway every week and have never been disappointed. Food and proportions are excellent at a reasonable price.

Aromatic duck, terrible, no spring onion, julienne of leek used instead, no cucumber julienne just batons, heard good reports so thought I’d try, won’t again

Marks Kitchen was great 30 years ago. A reliable local takeaway serving half decent Chinese food. Sadly it’s declined over the years. Tasteless and greasy. Ordered yesterday after a break from takeaway food as on an health kick and now in bed with food poisoning. I will not be going back.

It was very busy yesterday (Feb 14th) was queuing out the door and was 45 minute wait. But was worth the wait. The egg fried rice and the crispy shredded beef was exceptional. We walked home and the food was still piping hot. Even though it was busy, the lady behind the counter was doing so much, I really felt for her in the busy service that night. Highly recommended. Will definitely be returning.

We knew that this place would be busy. While the food is ok, and it's very annoying that they only take cash. However out of the 3 Chinese take aways in cirencester it is the best of a bad bunch. My biggest gripe is how poorly organized the place is. As we knew they would be busy we ordered ed over the phone for collection and we're told to pick it up in a hours time. I arrived just after that time to be told it would be a other 10/15 mins. Ok you could tell it was busy. However I'm stuck now, it's 50 minutes after my collection time, well last the told wait time with no other options. Absolutely poor management and will travel further in the future.

That was good. I was looking forward to some authentic Chinese and I enjoyed this. Would be great if you had some dine in seats. Better than what I have had on a long tour of the UK.

Mark's Kitchen is fab. Lovely rice dishes, especially egg fried rice. Noodles, Aromatic crispy duck and crispy shredded beef good too. Ticks all the boxes for a classic Chinese takeaway. Nice big portions too. Could do with a delivery service though. Would eat from there more often if they did.

Well, it’s not a restaurant. It’s a takeaway. If you are going for a steak then you might need to rethink if you can have a ribeye with bone. They have no idea about medium cook steak. In short, Their food is below average.

I'm going to visit this establishment again and see what it's like again, as I'd forgotten I'd eaten there before..... very good friendly service and I really liked the food, very authentic. Really well positioned for visitors to Cirencester, just off Market Place in the town centre. Plenty of free parking in the evening or just walk there.

Very nice spring roll, not greasy. Special fried rice was very saucy and lots of nice ingredients.

Good Chinese takeaway, have no complaints, must pay cash and order was pretty quick. We actually had it for dinner the next day too and was perfectly fine warmed up in the air fryer for round 2!

Just had food from Marks Chinese takeaway food looked nice but we were amazed at the fact absolutely nothing had any flavor no salt curry was just liquid we was just amazed never had food with no flavor what so ever chicken balls greasy with no flavor wow never again

Always great food and service from this take-away. The food is delicious and in my opinion the best Chinese food in Gloucestershire, let alone Cirencester! It gets very busy at weekends, so calling ahead to order, or ordering online is recommended.

All went in the bin. Tasteless singapore noodles, soggy prawn crackers, rock hard crispy chilli beef (not convinced it actually had beef in) and undercooked and watery satay vegetables. Only edible food was the spring rolls which were clearly out of a frozen bag. Real shame as it’s not cheap either.

Egg fried rice was not bad. The chicken chop suey wasn't to my liking. I binned half of it because I couldn't eat it. I have chicken wastage guilt now. I had to pay cash, as opposed to card.

From the food I have had, it has been good, but I highly recommend NOT ordering via their website. On two occasions I have ordered online only to find they are not open! I wasn’t charged as they only take cash, but it’s still not ideal. I’ll probably go back to ordering from Swindon Rendezvous to be honest. It’s only a quick trip down the 419!

This has been our local Chinese take away we’ve used for the last 5 years… every time we have guests from out of town and order a ‘Marks’ they absolutely love it as much as we do! Cannot fault the food, as someone that can suffer with take away food, it never does anything to make me ill the following day! A little surprised to read such negative/rude reviews regarding ‘tax man’ etc - this is irrelevant to the food and this family run business shouldn’t have allegations as such made via a trip advisor review - very concerning as we’re meant to be a tight knit community in Cirencester. Thank you for providing lovely food as always!

We had a nice Chinese Meal tonight. Food was still hot when we opened up. Highly recommend the Chinese chicken curry and chicken ball. Will defo back again.

My wife and I collected a takeaway from here a few days ago. Seriously rude lady behind counter and they only took cash ?? No contactless, or any card payment ! Highly suspicious ! When we got home, the food was in the main inedible. Cold, greasy , and what we did have was tasteless. Could not recommend in any way I’m afraid.

Have been coming to Marks Kitchen for over 3 years and I only have good things to say. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and the food does not disappoint. Wouldn’t get my Chinese food anywhere else.

I have lived long enough in Cirencester to remember when this take away had polite staff, fulfilled the order properly and most importantly provided decent food. The lady usually front of house and taking orders should not be the face of this business. She is rude and arrogant beyond words. Waiting for my order, there were 2 calls to say there were missing items (one being the pancakes for duck). She offered 10% discount next time. How about for your error, pay for a taxi to deliver them instead? We also had missing/wrong dishes when we got home. By the way, never ask for a receipt. As a cash only business, she will think you are Satan sent by HMRC.

Very average, stale dough-like spring rolls. Dry meatless crispy-beef? Item missing from order (curry dish) no offer to deliver & was treated like it was “our issue” Only takes cash (quite dodgy mr tax-man) Food is dated, does not offer delivery in these modern times, extremely defensive when questioned & no customer service at all. Time to move forward with the rest of the world now maybe Mark?? Think your getting a little complacent...

The lady owner I think just talk so loud. I thought at first, when I was making my order, that she was shouting at me when she asked how many egg fried rice I want. Anyways, I was so pleased when I got back to my hotel as their regular rice portion is a lot and so with the shrimp chowmein and chicken mushroom I have ordered and it's tasty!! The only disappointing is, if you go there to order and you don't have cash as they only take cash payment. I don't know why they don't take card payment.

40 minutes waiting on a pre ordered meal. When my son delivered it for us(covid) he said there was at least 10 people in there very small waiting area so no covid precautions were being adhered to. Some of it was missing. Most of it was cold and some even inedible. Needless to say they will not get my hard earned money again.

We have always rated Mark’s kitchen with quite a few takeaways! New year eve we decided to have a takeaway from here. We tried to pre order but they said ring back on the day! After 2 hour’s roughly getting through we put a large order through and they said it will be ready for 8.05pm not a problem. We came to pick the takeaway away up and there was a long queue! Which is what we expected on new year eve. The first person had their meal around 8.00 pm after ordering at 5.30pm. We eventually got ours at 9.45pm after standing in the cold! No communication what so ever! They missed a few items off our order as well. We won’t be using them for a while after being so greedy!

Order took 5 hours. Waited outside in -3 for 2 hours. When we got to the front we were told our order had been lost to which the woman found hilarious behind the counter. Some of the worst customer service we’ve ever experienced.

We visit here regularly and it vis great value for money, the food is above average but not the standard of a good restaurant, which the price reflects. Staff and service are great.

Terrible. I ordered food of £22. When I got home, I noticed that there is 2 missing foods so I had to drive back to collect the missing food which they forgot to include and I had to wait for another 20 minutes. My food is cold when I got home. They didn’t apologise, or give me some extra food or anything!!

I have been looking at the reviews on here - do not believe the terrible reviews - the people who are here are all amazing, they take your order quickly and have never messed up our order. We come to Marks a few times a month on many different days and times. The customer service here has been nothing but helpful, kind and efficient. I could not fault this place apart from the fact that I wished they had a restaurant! Consistently good quality. Easily the best Chinese food in Cirencester over the last 20 years.

We called through our order and was ready to collect within 20 mins. Each dish was very tasty and would return if we were locals! The crispy shredded chilli beef was spot on.

Just ordered through their website. Turned up at time asked on email to be told no record of our order. In current times, unacceptable.

Hemos estado usando marcas de cocina durante años sin problema. Sospecho que son nuevos dueños.Intentamos durante casi una hora comunicarnos por teléfono. Cuando finalmente respondieron, se mostraron ágiles y hospitalarios. Eso no es nada comparado con lo que experimentamos cuando fuimos a recogerlo.El lugar era un caos. La señora del frente de la casa estaba loca. Gritando de izquierda a derecha y al centro a los clientes, muchos pedidos se estropearon y ella no asumió la responsabilidad y fue agresiva.Echaron a perder nuestro gran pedido. No pude entenderla a través de los gritos y la histeria. ¡Pero afirmó que alguien llamado "steve" llamó y canceló nuestro pedido! ? De acuerdo, amor. Está totalmente loca y no tenía ningún control.¿Y la razón por la que tardamos años en hablar por teléfono? Lo tenían descolgado cuando llegamos allí. Si no pueden hacer frente, no deberían estar a cargo de un simple lugar para llevar.Después de unos 20 años de venir aquí mensualmente, hemos terminado. Says it shuts at 11PM on Google. Walked in 9.55PM to order and was ubruptly told were closed and "what you want". I just walked out. Not good customer service. (Yes opening times may be different due to Coronavirus but Google has correctly changed the opening times for other business but for some reason not takeaways).

Sadly, Poor Chinese food. The food was not great, the order took over an hour and no social distancing measures at all. I hope it was just a poor meal I get from this visit....

First time ordering from Marks. It was so so easy, menu was on the website and ordered through the site and paid on collection. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Very lovely tasting food, good size portions and fair on price. Will definitely return

I placed an online order. It was for 2 people at £24. When I call them, they said I have to pay £29, another £5 on top. They told me that they do not do orders for 1/person. I told them it was for 3 people. However they said I still had to pay another £5.Sod that. I cancelled my order and went back to Zen whom I have never had a problem with.

Does a banging chicken and chips - food is well seasoned and the bloke on the desk is friendly despite having a huge number of orders to get through

This was the first time we ordered from Mark's kitchen. Service was very friendly and quick. For me, the sweet and sour prawns were slightly on the oily side and served with a LOT of sauce, but I should have checked the cooking method. The chicken chop suey was really svoury and lovely and the prawn crackers were the best I've had in a while. Ensure that you bring cash as they do not take credit cards.

Good Chinese in the centre of town. Service can come off as a bit laid back however they are always busy and never rude.

For the 2nd time in a space of a week Mark's Kitchen has failed myself and my partner. I used to think it was one of the best places to get a chinese takeaway, but this week I was greeted by a rather miserable member of staff on the till, and it seemed the food had just been rushed out as it was undercooked and unappealing, even the basic chips and vegetarian spring rolls were under cooked. I must admit I am not a fan of soggy undercooked filo pastry nor a fan of half cooked chips. Will pass this place for a while

Este lugar es bastante bueno, es mi comida para llevar, pero la falta de brócoli / sitrfried frito con ajo y opciones más saludables como salsa menos azucarada que lo haría mucho mejor, el pato y las algas no es tan bueno como lo era ( Me gusta el mío realmente triturado y crujiente) pero el servicio es amable y hay muchas cosas que también han mejorado. Me encanta que ahora puedas obtener galletas de la fortuna y que casi siempre recuerden mi pedido cuando escuchan mi voz. El dinero en efectivo es molesto ya que solía poder pagar con cheque hace años. Pero las críticas aquí parecen injustas y está limpio y la gente es útil, aunque una barandilla en la puerta sería buena. También habiendo vivido en Londres, algunas opciones más de chino tradicional serían buenas.

サイレンセスターの町の中心部、大通りに面したところにある中華系テイクアウトのお店です。中でも食べられるのかな？と思ったら中は待合の椅子と注文カウンターがあるだけで、どうやら以前はわかりませんが今はテイクアウト専門のような感じでした。注文は続々電話がかかってきたり立ち寄る人がいたりと人気店のようです。

We always tend to have a Chinese take-away when we're away on holiday as we often rent a dog-friendly cottage so need to eat at home, rather than dining out. The other Chinese in Cirencester seems to have closed so we ordered from Mark's Kitchen and were glad we did,

Visited Marks Kitchen 2 days ago for the first time. Couldn’t help feeling that the hostess who greeted me wished she was somewhere else. Plenty of customers including a family from (possibly) China so maybe a good sign. Decor included an award certificate from 2000 and given by a professional body that didn’t trouble the pages of Google. Probably came from the University of Hewlett Packard. But, of course, it’s the food we were there for and I have to say it wasn’t bad. Cannot rank it against any other local takeaways as I have not visited any being new to the area.

When I tried to pay i was told that it was cash only, could not see any signs to this effect anywhere and you would think that they would say this on ordering so your food does not get cold. What it meant was, I had to go wandering about in the dark to find a exterior cashpoint which I never ever would normally do. The food was a disappointment as well sadly, so will not be returning to this establishment.

Great meal. will do it again for sure.

Best Chinese Takeaway in Cirencester I think.

The food was ready on time and was reasonably priced, the beef was rubbery and the chicken dish disappointing the other two dishes were good. The most annoying thing about this place is that when you order they don’t tell you it’s cash only, weird not accepting credit cards, so you have to go looking for cash machines and leave your food on the counter, crazy.

Ordered from here this week and last Friday both times order has been completely wrong woman can hardly understand a word of English, then proceeds to tell me that it’s the kitchens fault when she has write down the wrong number of food item, FUMING IS NOT THE WORD!

Friendly staff and foods delicious

Definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants/ takeaways that reside within Cirencester. Affordable food that is well worth it due to its great quality. For example, some of their best (and my personal favourites that I always purchase) are the peaking duck along with egg fried rice. I have tried buying my own egg fried rice that tasted like I had just ran my tongue through the dirt. So I decided then to make my own, which while was okay, it doesn’t hold a candle to theirs. The duck as well is perfectly cooked evey time, and I have had it for a long time. Due to this I would highly recommend this place and would highly encourage for you to stop by. It’s not a classy restaurant for those looking for a formal night out, but it’s brilliant for everything else.
