Jack's Bar in Derry

Good place to eat and in a quiet environment

I love these old style Irish pubs. This was closest one to our AIRBNB so we came in for some lunch and watch an EPL match. The servers were fantastic and very welcoming. I chose to have the Salmon dish served with a cream sauce with a big serve of mashed potato as well as a piece of baked potato and a side of mixed steamed vegetables. I did also get a starter of vegetable soup and it was very hearty. Overall it was a great experience.

Come here every so often for the 50/50 , never had a bad one yet and it ain’t badly priced either , drinks are decent too , definitely worth a visit

Fantastic! After a long walk around Derry, we found this bar and so glad we did. Excellent food, service and a great atmosphere - full of customers, lots of Xmas decorations and Christmas songs one- after another. We ate a 2 course Christmas dinner ( main and dessert) which was superb and great value. Add a pint of Guinness and Orchard Cider and our night was complete! Great food, service & dining experience!

Jacks is one of the nicest bars in the town and the food is beautiful and staff are so friendly

We found this gem of a bar accidentally ,passing it by on our way to our accommodation which was round the corner and I’m so Glad we decided to go in ,The staff were so friendly and welcoming ,showed us to a table which was spotlessly clean ,and we all decided on what we were eating ,I decided on the homemade soup which was absolutely delicious followed by the huge Beef Sunday Roast and honestly it’s was superb a massive portion so well cooked I wouldn’t hesitate going back here for food ,In the evening we returned and what a great night we had the local people were absolutely fantastic ,super friendly and we were entertained by Mr John Breslin ,if I ever go back to Derry jacks bar will deffo be on my list to visit again .Thank you so very mush to the brilliant staff and customers for making us so wellcome and cheers to John for his superb Karaoke

A group of 5 of is came in for food I had roast beef it was outstanding all the boys loved there food also fantastic food fantastic service very friendly staff great value for money next time I'm back in derry I will definitely be coming back for sure.

We visited the bar for the two evenings we stayed in Derry It was a great experience At the first evening, Connor suggested that we need to go to Fitzroys to have a nice meal because Jack's kitchen is closed This was such a good advice that we spent the rest of our time at Jack's Bar Very friendly staff

Die Theken-Crew um Connor war sehr freundlich und gab uns einige gute Tipps zum Reisen in Irland inklusive einem Quartett mit Sehenswürdigkeiten. Die Getränkeauswahl war riesig und wie fast überall in Irland kam man schnell mit den Menschen ins Gespräch und konnte sich im stimmigen Ambiente sehr wohl fühlen.

Lovely place, people and great atmosphere

On a cold, rainy day in Derry, we ducked in to Jack’s and were delighted to discover a beautiful interior, a blazing fire, and a welcoming greeting from our server, Toni. We each had a glass of hot Jameson’s and a bowl of freshly made soup (which was absolutely divine). Michael, the owner, entertained a group of local regulars at the bar, but because of the foul weather, we were the only diners and thoroughly enjoyed meeting and chatting with Toni. Between the soup, the fire, and the kindness, we were rejuvenated and ready to tackle the hills of Derry once again!

Fantastic Sunday lunch. Don't leave too late as popular locally. Plenty of options alongside traditional Sunday lunch. We had both and cannotvfsukhtvquakuty, service and value for money. So warm and cosy on a cold day too.

Nice little bar with great food and brilliant service. Always a good spot to drop into for a bite to eat and a quick pint.

Friendly pub, great food. Lots of TV screens showing horse racing, football and rugby. A great atmosphere as we watched Ireland winning the grand slam

The racing takes priority over any sporting event regardless of importance. Staff moan if you ask to turn the sound up. General service level is disinterest. Food is OK but go some where else. Poor.

The fish and chips, salad and Smithwicks were all good but the recommended tobacco onions, “a Derry thing” were outstanding! The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and very welcoming. I heard there was live in the evenings but didn’t go back after walking the walls.

Had lunch yesterday in Jacks Bar service was brilliant and the food was excellent. Will definitely be back.

I was in Jack's one day last week and had lunch, the food was delicious the staff were excellent. I stayed a bit longer then I should have. I me't some old friends the craic was 90. Jack's a good place to meet up, every thing you need for a great day.

Had a red thai curry with bombay potatos and a nice cool pint of lager , food was yummy .

Very friendly and the food is 10/10 as always. The healthy meals are out of this world the taste is unbelievable, makes dieting a bit easier.

Came here for drinks with friends two of us ordered food one was served very quick I ordered a plate of chips I was waiting for almost an hour asked several staff members where was my order they weren't very helpful. The chips arrived and the girl just said there was a mix up in the kitchen and then walked off I didn't have a chance to complain. With no condiments served. Had to go and ask for them also. Not great service.

Excellent place for food, when in Derry

Brilliant!! Food and drink really well priced! I would recommend the 50/50 ( I would call it beef & bird). Really well cooked and presented! Staff are lovely! Have to mention in particular, Danielle who served us and who was brilliant! We love this place and it's always our first stop when we come to Derry.

Went to this bar last night with my two daughters for food and a few bevies. The reception we got when we entered was lovely. We were brought to our table (after booking online) and were dealt with in a fantastic and quick manner. The food was first class and the bar tenders were just brilliant. A friend was celebrating a significant birthday and family organised the celebration at Jack's Bar. As some of the party goers had mobility problems this was the perfect venue with access directly off the street. What a great night with beautiful food served by great staff - nothing too much bother.Nibbles and hot/cold food. Lots of singers in the group so plenty of music added to the great atmosphere which the staff pride themselves in. This bar does good lunches/bar food each day so you're never short of something to eat.

Brilliant little pub, great atmosphere, great value for money. Excellent food. Great location definitely recommend a visit. 👍👌

Just called in with a friend at lunch time for veg soup and a roll, there was a glorious open fire and Xmas tree and just the right amount of of other customers to feel at home.

Landed as a hen party of 30+. Staff were excellent, between sorting us with seats & giving the hen a wee demo of making cocktails behind the bar I would highly recommend as a night out for groups of all sizes. Jason the barman went out of his way to make sure we had all we needed as well as treating us to a wee tune. Great spot

A lovely bar. A great selection of beers and other alcoholic drinks and non alcoholic drinks as well a as a lovely food menu.

Gen of a pub. Reasonably priced and good selection of beers and wines. We had a good meal and would recommend.

Me and my partner was staying in Derry for 2 nights called into here on Thursday night for few drinks and the guy conor they had singing was very good played a few songs for us the staff where friendly on the Friday we went back for lunch the food is lovely and very cheap we will deffintly be back when we are down again
