Izgara Grill & Kebab in North Hertfordshire

Have used this place for years. Very good donner wraps, lots of meat and salad. Definitely worth the price but recently it’s been taken over by new people and we had a very poor experience. The wrap had hardly any meat or salad in it and the chips burnt through the polystyrene box. So plastic chips didn’t go down very well. Sadly this business won’t last if they cut the portions down so much and they seriously need to change their packaging.

I wouldn’t bother! Had a lamb doner and small chips takeaway Half cooked soggy chips. Just warm dried out lamb that wasn’t cut fresh. Very poor salad 1 bit of tomato, no cucumber, cold doughy pitta. Lamp doner should be relabelled as mixed meat scraps as it certainly isn’t pure lamb. Should have just had a bowl of cornflakes instead.

2nd time recently they have run out of salad to put on the kebab! However, the grotesque point tonight was my son finding a big dead fly buried within his kebab....put us off completely

This is the thrird time I have ordered a take away from here this time they have exceed the lateness. I ordered at 8.25 told 50 min delivery time and here we are 10pm and I am still waiting. Disgusting is all I can say

Turkish sheesh kebab they’re kidding this is nothing like any other meal I’ve ever had lamb sheesh kebab no homous even the bread was terrible this is definitely the worst food I have ever eaten too much rice yes rice thought it was Chinese don’t go near the place

Overall the quality of the food was good. Had a large lamb kebab which came with rice, the pita and salad came wrapped separately which is good. Agree with other that it is cheeky charging 50p for the sauce. Good meal though!

The best in town nowhere else comes close for price quality taste and service , amazing flavours & super fresh ingredients. Friendly & helpful. Will be returning again very soon

I have ordered from Izgara a few times and tried varying meals and I have to say the food is outstanding. The only thing is the chips can be a bit hit and miss and this is why I have not given 6 stars. But the meat is amazing and of good quality.

The best kebab I have had in Hertfordshire staff great and freshly sliced off kebab thanks and will be back.

Stopped off here on my way home and got a quick snack. Really good food if you like kebabs. I wish they had a bigger menu because I think they'd be very good at lots of different stuff. Only bad thing I have to say is they now charge for all card transactions and I think that's a bit wrong as they probably get the majority of customers using cards. Never the less I will keep returning and paying the fee as it's worth it. Jim

I don't see why people have bad things to say about this establishment. Ive had various kebabs and orders from here and they are always top notch.. To be fair its also a bit of a godsend that the diver to the surrounding villages. Ive never had late food, only early. i also think some of the people complain about food quality forget they are ordering a kebab, even thought this is a 5 star kebab outlet.

Thought I would try this in passing. Had a Donna Kebab without sauce. Was very greasy. I know people think that they are but there not meant to be and certainly you shouldn't feel like you have just eaten a block of lard. As a result I was up all night. It was coming out of both ends. Seriously stay away I don't want anyone else to suffer the way I did.

Utter filth made a genuine complaint via just eat after order being delivered 30 minutes late and when food did finally arrive all the packaging was melted onto my food (not edible) I call to complain not interested I speak with just it they give me fiver voucher... anyway now Izgara keep cancelling my orders 2 x in the past week 1st lie we have no driver ..... 2nd lie we run out of the chicken ......so i went to the shop they had everything there and a driver ? Lairs ! Then my son makes an order online today they except the order and cancel at the time it was due to be delivered. " disgusting ! Again just eat called to say they think it was a false order ? Liars ! luckily for me I took pictures of my ordered food and shall be passing them on to the food hygiene department at the local council offices as well as trading standards. Aviod these cretins the foods garbage and they talk garbage

I can't really find any fault with them. The delivery was super fast. Personally I would recommend the lamb kebab in cubes. The chicken tasted a bit better. The food was clean. I think it was a tad bit expensive though.

25 minutes late no call to let me know ... I called no REAL apology from man on phone just said sorry its 15/20 minutes after already being 10 minutes late . food was only just warm and the packaging was melted on the extra meat first time paying by card . trust me when I say appalled ! ignore the stars there only there because you have to add stars .......

We were absolutely blown over by the quality of the food! We had the platter of meats....(can't remember what it was called but has chicken and lamb kebab, as well as doner and schish.....). Divered quickly. Hot. Presented well. Can't fault it at all.

The chicken and lamb (combination) shish kebabs are lovely - have one with salad probably every other weekend..

Food was delivered 25 minutes early which may have been a problem if I was organizing things around the Delivery Time, however certainly far better than being late. The food itself was fantastic. Half Pounder with Cheese and chips. No items were forgotten or wrong, and the food was hot, which is excellent. As a whole., I'm very impressed. As as first time customer, you have exceeded my expectations. Keep up the great work Izgara. One small piece of advise... If you are going to be really early with the delivery, please do contact the customer to advise. Communication is key.

I just had a best kebab in my life

Chicken donar meat was absolute garbage the worst I have ever had in my entire life. 2 forks and the lot went in the bin because the dog wouldn't even eat it. Once again a massive let down. The chicken shish meat was OK and salad but no the chicken doner meat.

Ordered lamb wrap no option on what salad so just picked with salad. Was so soggy it was dripping everywhere and had made the pitta a soggy mess. Lamb was a large quantity of some tender but mostly chewy fat I could not swallow. Chicken burger was a cheap quality and chips were soggy but ok as we were so hungry because our mains got binned. Haven't used for a while but was definitely better last time.

Food delicious, exactly as we ordered, was delivered about half an hour after original estimate given. However, all in all a tasty, good value for money for a Friday night in :)

We have been using the Izgara for takeaways since it opened, and it is nice to have a kebab shop that delivers nearby.The food is mostly decent, although the standard has been inconsistent at times. When this place first opened the person in charge, Oscar, worked very hard to build a loyal customer base and good reputation. It is my understanding that Oscar moved on to another establishment a while ago, and this has been the reason for inconsistencies.However, the food is still pretty good on the whole and is good value.There are little things that could be done to improve the standard. For example, the pitta breads provided with the kebab feast/family meal deal are often very different sizes and should be consistent. In our last order there were two containers of chips, one of which was full and the other only half full.The chilli sauce with our most recent order was the best we have had from there as it actually had a bit of heat to it, so this is an improvement.
