This was the best place! Can't believe this fantastic outfit is closing. Fabulous food, and the kind of place you wanted to be friends with. Damn Covid, and damn it again. Irvin, if you plan to make polenta chips anywhere in the world please let us all know.

Absolutely Amazing food and incredible service. My new favourite restaurant to eat out. Whether you’re a veggie or a meat eater there is something for everyone. Can’t wait to come back.

Tengo que admitir que pasé por aquí varias veces y nunca entendí cómo funcionaría la comida escocesa e italiana. También tengo que admitir que desearía haber decidido probarlo antes. Con mi novia escocesa y yo con apellido italiano (y buena apariencia, obviamente) pensamos que iríamos juntos y hemos vuelto en numerosas ocasiones desde entonces. El haggis arancini se roba el espectáculo, simplemente funciona: arroz, haggis, mozzarella, todo frito en una bola. Perfecto como entrante o simplemente como aperitivo mientras saboreas uno de sus muchos cócteles o vinos. Platos principales: bueno, siempre es el ragu pappardelle de pato, pero en raras ocasiones la novia me ha incitado a probar otra cosa. P.ej. el pollo con judías verdes, o el pescado, ha sido igual de bueno. El servicio es excepcional, el propietario escocés realmente se preocupa por la calidad y la satisfacción del cliente, mientras que la otra camarera que nos ha servido varias veces (creo que canadiense) no podría haber sido más útil. Estoy deseando volver allí en una semana o dos.

An excellent little restaurant. Very good food and a good wine list. The cocktails were very good and strong. All in all a great night out.

Después de pasar la mayor parte del encierro en nuestros lugares habituales de entrega de fin de semana, decidimos intensificar un poco las cosas durante el fin de semana y aprovechar el nuevo servicio de entrega proporcionado por Irvin Bar & Grill. No nos decepcionó. Tanto el servicio como la comida fueron excelentes. Pedimos por la tarde y nuestra comida, incluidos entrantes, platos principales y cócteles, llegó a las 8 pm en punto con la comida preparada y cocinada perfectamente. Los entrantes de haggis arancini y burrata estaban deliciosos, al igual que los platos principales de pappardelle nduja ricotta y risotto de cebada perlada. Recomendaría especialmente el risotto. Los cócteles también estaban bien hechos y disfrutamos mucho. Buen trabajo en general. ¡Lo recomiendo altamente!

A lovely little restaurant in Crouch End offering Scottish Italian fusion food which to my surprise, was quite nice. I ordered the delicious Vegan option. We also ordered the Onglet (very chewy), Guinea fowl which was scrumptious, Rissotto with scrumptious truffle oil and sides of polenta chips (very greasy) and new potatoes which were to die for! Starters were Haggis arancini, tomato bruschetta and a salad of mixed heritage tomatoes with homemade ricotta cheese, all very tasty. My only gripe, the mains did not all come at the same time and the food was a little cold. As we were starving we didn't send it back. The service was great, the staff are welcoming, friendly and very helpful. The overall ambience was very good. A trendy little place to go with a bar you can sit at whilst you wait for your table. We each bought a cocktail to start and then a couple of bottles of the house white which was very nice. Price for a table of four with cocktails, starters, mains, 2 desserts and 2 bottles of wine came to £55 each which we thought was very reasonable. Will go back for sure.

Laid back atmosphere, great food and a very good wine selection. One of the better restaurants in the area..

Dinner with the extended family, despite a booking mix-up they managed to fit us in on a busy Saturday night. All the food was good but the Haggis Arancini really stood out. I enjoyed the fusion between the two countries and would happily recommend

La comida era excelente y disfrutamos del toque escocés al menú italiano, la tarta de queso escocés de venado y whisky son de visita obligada. ! Un ambiente agradable y relajado con un servicio atento pero no intrusivo. ¡Regresaremos por mas!

A very enjoyable meal at Irvin. Crispy mackerel was delicious and the trademark haggis arancini excellent as ever. Good puddings. Service is just right and nice decor!

Who’d have thought Scottish / Italian was a match made in heaven? This is a small, lovely and welcoming restaurant in the heart of Crouch End. My husband and I didn’t book a table one night but managed to grab the last two bar stools at the bar. The service (despite other reviews on here) was quick and friendly. Even more importantly, the food was tasty! We tried food from the starters, mains and desert which is unheard of for us! We were pleased to learn that small well behaved dogs are welcome. We are therefore returning with our furry friend and parents in tow on Friday. We look forward to dining with you again then!

Firstly a disclaimer, I've known Steven since the mid 80s when he was drummer with Lloyd Cole and The Commotions! He's a truly lovely bloke and I'm really glad I finally made it to Irvin to check out his post band career. Firstly, the Scottish/Italian crossover menu is really interesting and creative. My wife and I are vegan now and our food was delicious and inspired - as opposed to some restaurants where vegan options seem to be begrudgingly offered and lacklustre - although it has to be said that thanks to people like Steven this is a fairly rapidly improving situation. For meat and fish eaters, there are some very original and amazing sounding options on the menu. Steven is also a warm and engaging host with a great sense of humour who loves meeting people as much as he loves good food and drinks. My wife and I loved our meal here and can't wait to get back there in the near future. Thanks Steven!

Arrived promptly for our evening out at about 8.00pm on a Friday night. Noticed that lady at the next table struggling with a steak knife attacking her octopus dish, so decided to avoid that.After 30mins or so our waitress took our order and then after after a further 30mins our starter arrived but not before our waitress, probably thinking I was having the octopus, set my place with a steak knife?! When questioned she asked, "Oh, have you not had your starter, yet? Ah, I know what happened there." Off she went and gladdened in the knowledge that she knew what had happened "there" but leaving us none the wiser. Steak knife was duly removed. In all the excitement, we had to order another bottle of wine: just for something to look at if anything and to get something to cross our palette other than the proverbial water.The food when it did arrive, some 75mins after arriving, was delicious, if small. Did we dare ask for a dessert: no as we needed to catch the last bus home. Oh, and it was very, very loud. But, hey: the young guns were enjoying it.Probably won't come again and headed off a couple of our posse thinking of going.

We went on a Friday night and this place was absolutely buzzing. The bar made it very crowded, though, and I can't recall having eaten a meal in a noisier environment; we could only barely talk across the table. The food was OK, but not terribly flavoursome. The staff were clearly very busy and the service, whilst friendly and accurate, was a bit on the slow side. The place is much more a bar than a restaurant, and a lot of people will enjoy the lively noisy vibe, but it wasn't right for us.

You are spoilt for choice in Crouch end, so pleased we chose Irvin. Classy and intimate yet casual enough not to make you feel out of place. Food was delicious and service very friendly. My pasta was divine. The only slight issue was the dark wooden chairs were not very comfortable. Will not deter us from returning though.

Nos sentamos en el bar e inmediatamente nos sentimos bienvenidos y cómodos. Siempre es agradable ser atendido por un equipo familiar, ¡tuvimos que obligarnos a irnos a casa ya que estábamos tan cómodos que corríamos el riesgo de perder la noción del tiempo por completo! ¡Gracias por invitarnos y definitivamente volveremos!

Buen ambiente para la cena. Visitamos como un grupo de 4 el viernes por la noche. Estaba lleno de gente, pero no demasiado. El servicio fue eficiente.

Popped in here for lunch while the dog was being groomed. Delicious! We ordered a selection of the dishes and non of them disappointed. Highly recommend if you are after some Scottish food done the Italian way.

I didn’t know what to expect from Ir in, described as Scottish/Italian (haggis lasagne?!), But it was waaay beyond any expectation!

I went to visit a friend who lives in Crouch End and she recommended this cosy restaurant. It was pleasantly busy on a Tuesday night with a nice relaxed atmosphere. Some of the waiting staff are aspiring actors and the owner is from a musical background so the banter was open and friendly. The food was AWESOME - compliments to the chef! I had the most delicious Duck Ragu with Pappardelle Pasta and a side order of polenta chips cooked in truffle oil washed down with a lovely glass of Soave wine recommended by the waiter. Yummy. Looking forward to a return visit already!

We were recommended to this resaturant by a friend. A really great owner managed business. Lovey original menu the chips were sensational.. Great service, alwys nice when the owner comes to chat with you. Clearly everyone there enjoys what they do, we will be back.

Todo en el menú era auténtico, delicioso y fresco, hecho con productos de buena calidad. Gran cantidad de opciones de bebidas. Delicioso whisky! Para empezar, el haggis arancini y el black pudding brushetta fueron increíbles. El combo escocés italiano es un partido hecho en el cielo. Pasta casera fresca también! ! Really very good food and nice staff. Eight of us shared a lot of the menu. Excellent pasta dishes - we had both duck and Cabala Nero. Both the dishes with black pudding were very good.

My husbands says I’m not allowed to write a review about how amazing this restaurant is because he wants to be able to get a table!!

Fue muy interesante, y me pareció que tenía una clientela muy interesante: creo que el personal estaba acostumbrado a que las personas fueran muy particulares. Me gustó la comida, aunque bastante caras y muy pequeñas porciones, pero me alegro de haber ido.

Went here for my birthday with a large-ish group. Service was great and the food was excellent even on a busy night. If you want to treat yourself this is the place. IMO the best restaurant in the area.

We came for dinner here last night and had a wonderful time. The staff were friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was buzzy and the food and drink were top notch. I've been thinking about the polenta chips all day today and would go back for those alone. We left feeling full, merry and well looked after - can't wait to go back!

Second time at Irvin's and was not disappointed. The food was delicious, my heritage tomato and ricotta starter was full of flavour, could have licked the plate clean! The main of cauliflower tartare was totally stunning. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Washed down with cocktails, what more could a girl want. Will definitely be returning and it is currently my favourite place to eat at the moment!

Stopped in for a bite to eat and a couple of drinks before the cinema and loved it. Food was prompt and delicious, wine was good and our servers were just lovely. Will come back for a proper meal ASAP!

Perfect for a pre cinema bite. We sat at the zinc bar, ordered plates to share, haricot vert, squid, broccoli lamb, all tasty and arrived within our hour time slot, washed down with unusual wines by the glass. Will be back for a more leisurely dinner

High standard wine selection and exceptional spirit menu compliment the finely crafted menu. Attentive yet relaxed staff who are knowlegable and clearly enjoy working here enhance the atmosphere. I recommend a seat at the old style bar, deep enough to accommodate the tapas style starter menu options (larger mains are available if that's what you're after). Decor is a little disjointed although some stand out prints on the wall available for purchase. Overall very pleasant evening and would absolutely return.

I had a late lunch and ordered the standing to start and the venison for main course. Both were delicious. The venison was beautifully cooked. Will definitely be back with friends.

Sólo tuve una visita corta, así que sólo tuvimos tiempo para el Haggis Arancini, una taza de té y algunos Tablet PC. El Haggis Arancini era genial, fantástico pan crujiente fuera y no demasiado grasiento interior no demasiado seco eso elevó con un poco de mozzarella fundido en el núcleo. Lo que más me impresionó fue cómo el Fit haggis perfectamente. Y para rematar el puré era ace Neeps puro, agradable y suave y un poco de refrigeración para ir este las bolas calientes. También tablet es realmente casero se puede decir por el sabor y textura.

Desde el principio hasta el final tuvimos una experiencia excepcional. Grupo de amantes complicado y difícil de satisfacer los miembros de la familia, todo el mundo disfrutó de la comida y el personal hizo un gran trabajo de recomendaciones. Llamada en particular a los vinos, patatas fritas y polenta la pasta.

Sono stato a cena in questo confortevole ristorante con amici e ho constatato che si mangia benissimo. Il cibo è fresco,saporito e curato nei minimi dettagli. La manager Stella riesce a rendere speciale l’atmosfera con la sua gentilezza e professionalità,connubio perfetto per invogliare i clienti a tornare...... Super top......Assolutamente da provare......

Had a decent dinner there, group of 4, starters, main and dessert with wine. Everything was ok but that was just it, for the price I was expecting good if not excellent. Service was the same, just average and they automatically add 12.5% service to the bill. Seemed to be a more of a cocktail bar trying to squeeze in a restaurant. Overall pretty lacklustre experience with a hefty price.

We are local to Irvin's and I don't know why it took some time before we tried it. Scot/Italian is an interesting concept. We've been twice and it isn't cheap but it is value for the experience. Up there as a best Crouch End restaurant.

The menu offers an unusual diversity of fresh locally sourced Scottish and Italian cuisine. All is creatively prepared and presented as, for example, is the haggis arancini. Similarly, the all-Italian winelist presents satisfying house wines, as well as more aesthetic options, all reasonably priced. And the connoisseur of Scotch whisky will discover an attractive selection to savour.

Great food, lovely surroundings and Stephen the owner is a very welcoming host. The Haggis starter, duck main and polenta chips are brilliant...have a wee whisky and bowl of tablet to finish it all off.

I was a bit skeptical about going here...I’m not sure why! Maybe because it looked quite quiet when we went in for lunch one Saturday. But I needn’t have worried. The food was very good. Despite a rather dead restaurant and bar area, we were served tasty well seasoned arancini and little sausages and then onglet steak for mains. Despite what some have said about it being overpriced, the lunch deal we had was pretty good value - and they didn’t put a surcharge on the steak which made a nice change. Although a cheap cut of meat, the chef had cooked it really well - medium rare but still juicy and nicely flame grilled. Chocolate torte style dessert was heavenly and the drinks menu equally impressive - even selling unfiltered prosecco - although I’m not sure I would actually order that again!!

Four of us for dinner. Lovely starters and two of us shared the special lamb rack, just superb. Service was good. Found the wine list pretty pricey which was the only minus.

Love this place, in fact, love it so much I went twice in one week!

We love going here for special occasions, there is an excellent selection of wine and cocktails and the food is lovely. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and it's a warm atmosphere. I especially love the polenta chips, cheese board and espresso martini! Oh and definitely try the haggis arancini balls they are amazing.

Check your bill. Was charged for two cocktails not ordered. Shamelessly berated for raising the error with the waitress who told us we were not welcome back after admitting to the mistake. Embarrassing for my date. Check your bill before paying, or better, go elsewhere.

What an amazing resturant, the food is outstanding we got the tapas so tried everything and it was 5 star all round what a gem to have as your local resturant. Also the staff where exceptional they made are evening very enjoyable we will be back that for sure.

I've eaten here quite a few times now and it's consistently great. All the pasta dishes I've tried have been different from the usual fare and unusually good. Little bits like the parmesan shortbread are moreish. Once I splashed out on the £50 lamb for two and though expensive it was simply the best lamb I've ever had. The service is just always outstanding. The place isn't a bargain, but it has definitely been worth it every time.

The boyfriend and I have started to feel that we're becoming fussy old codgers in our old(er) age. So many places have been crossed off the list for averageness that it's becoming increasingly difficult to go anywhere without descending into an outrageous, middle class diatribe for the following three days and at intervals subsequently. Not so with Irvin Bar and Grill. We've walked passed it a million times and never really fancied it but after an average film (Dunkirk) a couple of weeks ago, ventured in. Loved it. Charming service from all despite it being a very bust Saturday night. Delicious food and lovely wine. Can't wait to go back. Really, really good. Now I'm getting it might not stay good anxiety.

I have been on numerous occasions and never disappoints. The rosso di Montalcino is amazing along with the Haggis and the Stornaway black-pudding bruschetta. Cannot Fault and Stella is a great host. See you again soon Steve. Thanks

this place and nickel at the other end of crouch end mean its now bookended by two great small establishments. you could happily alternate between the two.last visit for drinks and the increduble cheesecake only but have also sampled the full menu - equally good especially the onglet.

Small bar/restaurant with a wonderful, friendly. atmosphere that provided a very enjoyable experience. Got the menu and didn't know where to start, everything looked interesting so between us we ordered quite a few of the dishes. The food was quite exceptional, well prepared and very tasty indeed. Creative, imaginative dishes that gave us plates of food that were enjoyable and different, the wine recommended was very good indeed and the service was faultless. Was very pleasantly surprised when we got the bill, I thought that given the quantity and quality of the food and drink we had enjoyed it would have cost more. Would happily return to Irvin Bar Grill.

Wile visiting my Nephew, who definitely knows his stuff, he had previously mentioned the previous week when he was down in Sussex with us a dish which immediately had me wondering, " Haggis Arancini", yes you read that right, arancini made with haggis, I was therefore not opposed to visiting the home of its creation, what a great little place, with food to match. (forget whatever preconceptions you may have about either Haggis or Arancini you just have to try this dish it is amazing) Charming service and a very interesting selection of dishes, you just have to go here if for no other reason than the Arancini ( I know I keep banging on about them, but they really were that good).

Came here with a friend as we thought it was a tapas place. Turns out its not, however, it is excellent! Really delicious, high quality food, excellent service. I was impressed. Fairly pricey though, but would return as a treat.

Popped in for a late lunch today. Everything was delicious - especially the charred squid and the wonderful homemade pasta. Looking forward to the next visit.

Went in on a busy Friday evening on the off chance since no reservation and under an hour before a film at the cinema up the road - two seats at the bar, 4 starters brought quickly, all delicious, and a carafe of lovely and unusual Marche wine. Perfect!

Enjoyed a wonderful tapas style meal in April. Lovely atmosphere, very nice staff, excellent menu. 5* treatment. We (4 of us) will be back soon. Thanks!

We came here expecting a good meal but the whole experience was fantastic. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly and the cooking was of an exceptional standard. Black pudding and roasted pepper to start, venison with a very odd but equally delicious pickled beetroot and walnut combo, and Scottish and Italian cheeses for afters all hit the spot in some style.It's definitely my new favourite in Crouch End, although the cost makes it more of a special occasion sort of place than a regular haunt. That's not to say it isn't good value - it was worth every penny - but it is a bit pricier than the average.

Ate here last Saturday and wanted to go back again the next day it was so good.Menu is small, but everything was delicious.Burrata mozzarella was a particular star, but then so was the onglet, venison, lamb rack, charcuterie and cheeses! Basically everything then.Only 2 puddings available, but I had the cheese and some Scottish tablet.What's not to like? If you live nearby get down here - if you don't move!

We've been to Irvin a number of times and it seems to get better all the time. Went last night with friends and it was super friendly service - chatty and real family atmosphere but not intrusive. It's a small space but it's not cramped. Food is consistently good - interesting not showy. Menu isn't that extensive so go with friends who like something a bit different. Eg Haggis arancini - a mouthful of indulgent cheesy Scottish meatiness....Quickly becoming a local institution.

Enjoyed a couple of hours on a Saturday night sitting at the bar with friends having a drink and a few dishes of food after the cinema. We had not booked but Mr Irvin was very accommodating and found us space. Really enjoyed the food, wine and atmosphere.

We went to Irvin on a whim last night having walked past it on our doorstep for months, and boy were we glad we did! We were greeted by two friendly gentlemen, one was the owner, who seated us at the bar as requested. We chatted to them throughout the evening which was lovely, the place has a great ambiance and was packed on a Thursday evening. We tried some delicious Italian wine on recommendation and it was delicious, we had 4 glasses! We also tried a pasta dish and some nibbles which were delicious and filling. Finally we ended the night with whisky and a fond farewell. We will be back again, what a wonderful place indeed.

We hade been meaning to try this place for ages, and were impressed by the reviews, but sadly we felt it really didn't live up to our expectations. The food was okay ( limited menu), but nothing special, the service so so, and it was very noisy. Playing music that couldn't be identified, but added to the general noise level didn't help either. Wouldn't go again and wouldn't recommend, Crouch End has many better places.

This was our first visit to Irvin, and we had a wonderful evening. Cocktails were great, food was fresh and delicious and the service was impeccable, the owner was there all evening and can see why this independent restaurant is a success, will definitely go again. Don't normally bother writing reviews, but cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

When you first hear that Irvins is attempting to fuse Italian and Scottish cooking, it seems wrong. But Irvin's successfully achieves this in a very tasteful way.And, great cocktails to boot.The front of house ladies are some of the best in the business, they make you feel like old friends and make excellent recommendations. Steak is always done to perfection.Great addition to the local eateries.

My Partner and I were lucky enough to get a booking in Irvin last Saturday night, We were so impressed with everything about this restaurant, The service was top notch, food was out of this world and the wine was incredible. I couldn't fault this gem, looking forward to returning for another great experience.

Pre-movie date night on a Wednesday and the place was rammed, which is always a good sign. Slightly weird combo of Italian and Scottish, but it definitely works. Fantastic Scottish produce and ingredients (haggis and black pudding appear), cooked with the wonderful simplicity of Italian cuisine. Wine list is excellent (almost everything is also available by the glass or 500ml carafe), as are the ubiquitous craft beers. Started off with some nibbles (venison salami, olives and pistachios), black pudding bruschetta and grilled squid; and were delicious. Main course was saddle of venison with beets; outstanding. As always, Italian servers were fantastic all around.Exactly what you want in a local restaurant, but worth a trip even if you aren't.

This place is certainly worth a visit. The Scottish/Italian Stramash works for us. Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and of course great food. See you next time .

I very much enjoyed both visits to Irvin. The staff are warm and welcoming. Lovely music adds to the atmosphere. The food is sensationally tasty. Excellent whisky selection too! Highly recommended.

We received a warm and friendly welcome. Really good, but not obvious, Italian wine, reasonably priced for the quality. Really delicious food, not run-of-the-mill, but delicate and perfectly cooked. So good to have this as a Crouch End local. Cannot wait to return.

I was booked to see a movie at the Crouch End Picturehouse and had only about 40 minutes to spare. I needed to eat something but couldn't hang about for too long. So my husband and I decided to check out Irvin, and we were not disappointed. Given our time limit, the waitress recommended that we go for the onglet steak. We also ordered the broccoli and harissa, and polenta chips sides. It was all so very well put together and delicious. I take it as a good sign that I was still thinking about just how good my steak was while watching the movie.We will be back.

This is a properly quirky little find. The calamari was excellent the haggis meats Italian meatballs/scotch egg was wonderful. Really rather good fun and with a lot of charm. For London not bad value but try Rico Libre in Birmingham and you will also have a proper tapas treat. Put a smile on the face.

Fine dining at cheap eat prices. Found this place by accident. wish it was my local. restaurant crouch end residents are very lucky to have this on their high street. Michelin star standard food.

We enjoyed a very nice evening at Irvin. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and the food is a clever mix of Italian with Scottish influence with a very good selection of wines – the parmesan cheese shortcake is a real treat. The meals are all freshly cooked, well presented and the menu offers some interesting dishes but what make this restaurant a cut above is the friendly staff and the owner’s obvious passion for his business which all goes to make a warm and pleasant atmosphere. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant when next in London.

Nipped in for a quick bit before cinema, advised them we were in a hurry and they couldn't have been more accommodating! We ordered everything recommended by the owner and couldn't fault anything. Venison pepperoni, squid, garlic baby potatoes, polenta fries and salt beef salad. Will definitely be back soon!

We've been here before and loved it so decided to go backUnfortunately it was a bit of a let down I ordered a large glass of wine but was told they only do one size (125ml) yet charged my £4.50 for it!Then the food arrived and it was disappointing for the price we were payingOne of our sides tasted like detol so we couldn't eat itWe did feed this back to the waitress We're pretty spoilt for restaurants in crouch end so not sure I'll give it another go as don't want to risk disappointment again when paying a premium priceWhich is a shame

Every detail was unique even down to the drinks menu which looked like a small hardback book. Great ambience and the food was amazing too. Will definitely be back for seconds!

We've been here twice so far and very happy in both occssions. It's so close to our favourite cinemas and convenient for the decent pre-film treat. It's not cheap, so we cannot frequent as often as we wish but it has certainly become the most enticing option around the area. Irvin is an unpretentious friendly bar which serves delicious food. The owner, Steve is very welcoming. At the counter we enjoyed converdation with other patrons and saw solo visitors being totally at home. Steve gave good advice for the choice of drinks. We will definitely go back there again and again.

Our first visit to Irvin's and we had a lovely evening. A lovely space, cool music, relaxed warm ambience. The service was really friendly and attentive but not intrusive - and we were offered a taste of wine before we selected our bottle from a great Italian wine selection. The wine was perfect to go with the delicious food - fresh, light and very tasty.

We are locals and visit Irvin on a regular basis! It's small, welcoming and delicious! The service is great, you really feel at home, and the food is delicious! Some really great, and unusual flavours here, and the menu changes often so we never get bored!

We tried this restaurant initially tempted by the cocktail bar. We sat at the bar and ordered some food which was served promptly and was attractive;y presented. The wine list was good and most (if not all) were available by the glass. Very pleasant, will definitely return.

It's really nice when a local restaurant opens that is worth a second visit, the food was great and the service was very friendly. The starters and main course we're very good, the wine was fairly priced.Well done will be back

After a recommendation from a friend, I went to Irvin last night with a small group of friends and we had a lovely time. The polenta chips with truffle sauce are delicious - as was my stone bass. Decor is stylishly relaxed and the staff were really friendly and helpful. A Scottish-italian menu sounds odd but works perfectly. This is a place that deserves to do really well.

Popped in Saturday night for dinner sat at the bar and ordered a bottle of prosecco to start, the wine was not cold when I complained the bar tender said we have sold all the cold ones,this is the second time I've been here and the second time I've been served warm wine did not stay for dinner having chilled wine is a basic for any restaurant

My partner and I discovered this restaurant by accident, when we had just moved to the area, and I'm so glad we went in!I have been to this restaurant many times now and have a wonderful experience each time I go. The service and atmosphere is wonderful, with the staff being chatty and friendly too. Everything on the menu is exquisitely cooked and I look forward to trying something new each time (however I always try to fit in the delicious polenta chips with whatever I'm having!)Would highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

Love this place for a quick drink after work or midweek meal. The decor is very warm and cosy and it feels like a hidden gem from the bustle of noise outside. The wine list is fantastic and the food never fails to impress
