If you're looking for the best soups in Edinburgh, look no further than Iona Cafe! Their soups are simply outstanding – fresh, hearty, and bursting with flavor. Perfect for a chilly Edinburgh day, they offer a variety that caters to every taste, from classic lentil, mushroom to unique seasonal specials. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, paired with friendly service, makes it a top spot in the market. Highly recommend stopping by for a bowl of comfort!

Called in for lunches & afternoon tea's. Good selection of freshly made produce & lovely cakes, the food never disappoints. The cafe don't charge for tea and coffee, so if you visit ionas for food, they have a gift shop where you can treat yourself and give a little back to St Columbas Hospice.

Excellent service from friendly volunteers. A gem of a place. Tucked away down a cul-de-sac as part of St Columba's Hospice it is a calm and quick place to get a light lunch or drink in North Leith. And very reasonably priced.

Part of the St Columba's Hospice complex, where late friend was receiving treatment.Bright, clean & peaceful, with indoor & outdoor garden seating. Friendly & welcoming staff, & spectacular views across the Forth Estuary. A world away from the usual hospital experience, with a calm & comforting ambience.

Attached to the Hospice. Reasonably priced, friendly staff and well stocked gift shop also. Does what it does well, could benefit from a couple of extra options but for most visiting I don't think that will cross your mind.

My daughter and I did a Thai cookery class here. Great fun! The chef was funny and had great patience very encouraging. Steven, who took us through everything was also very witty, informative and knowledgeable about Thailand and it's food. The food we made was lovely too. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

Arrived in Edinburgh on NYE to find Hogmanay had been cancelled! So, we took a chance at the Dram A Lang A Ding Dong event at the Tipsy Midgie Whisky Bar, and we were so glad that we did.Our train came into Waverley St at 7pm, by 8pm were settled in the dark, cosy, warm environment of the bar. Perfect for a cold, wet winters eve.We were warmly welcomed by Colin as soon as we entered and he directed us to our table where our whiskies, snacks and water were set up. The bar had an atmosphere as warm as the welcome and we were soon chatting with the locals. Three hours passed in the blink of an eye. Colin is a big character and his personality, joviality and wealth of knowledge about whisky underlines just why his establishment has won awards. The term 'hidden gem' is often over used, in this case its not a superlative, it's a fact. If you're a whisky lover seek it out, you will not be disappointed.

family of 20, 7 children, for dinner. Nice food, good service, easy parking, reasonable prices. Not often you get all that from the one establishment.

My terrible photo doesn’t do the products justice, they were delicious! Pictured here are the dulce de leche malteser meringue biscuits and the Vietnamese coffee buns (though I may have got the names slightly wrong as it’s been a few days since purchasing!) I emailed the bakery just before they reopened to see if they definitely did takeaway for all their products, as I’d planned on surprising my partner on his birthday with a coffee and some baked treats. When they replied they explained how they have boxes, bags etc etc so yes it was all takeaway friendly. Unfortunately my partner spoiled the plan by booking an all day bus tour starting at 8am on his birthday (eyeroll haha) so I nipped in the day before for baked goods instead. I was nervous because I have ridiculous anxiety, and the lady that served me was lovely - she was patient and wasn’t annoyed about the fact that I was stress reading the menu and not really taking any of it in. This really is important to me because I literally NEVER go into bakeries, small cafes etc etc by myself because of the anxiety it causes, it has helped boost my confidence going into small establishments. She told me which product was which and was truly just a lovely person to briefly interact with. So, thank you! The price was good, the bakes were delicious, and the birthday boy was well chuffed with the surprise! We will definitely be coming again next time we come to Edinburgh!

Absolutely quality food at very reasonable prices. A gem of a restaurant on leith walk, definitely a new go-to for us. The lady that served us was also fantastic, she did the whole place herself and we never once felt in need. Lastly the walnut desert was phenomenal! Top quality.

Amazing grub and cosy space. Attentive service as well. Been looking for good Asian food around Edinburgh and this one reminds me of home. Really recommend the satay (peanut sauce is amazing) and the Laksa, pictured. Super tasty!! Will be back to work my way through the menu ❤️
