The food was amazing, the Indian takeaway I've had so far. 😋

I made an order 3 weeks ago via their website. Called them after 1 hour and I've been told that they have a problem with the website. The order never arrived. I am trying to get my refund now but the owner is ignoring me and the staff has put a phone down a few times. Terrible service. Please do not use this restaurant

Amazing and delicious food. Absolutely scrumptious. I ordered from here with low expectations considering the 3.5 star overall review however it turns out that, that review was either a fake or an outlier compared to their fabulous food. The customer service, the presentation of the food, and their cleanliness and hygiene all exceeded my expectations and i would 1000% recommend and will definitely be eating from here again. Thanks alot.

I’ve ordered 3 vegetable (vegan) dishes: jalfrezi, Bombay potatoes and saag aloo plus lemon rice. All of the main dishes contained potatoes which were rotten and stinking and I called and asked for a replacement! What arrived was only 1 dish (potatoes), complimentary salad and raw onions that again were spoiled - I appreciate it’s hot today but no excuse not to keep your food in the fridge!! Luckily I’m vegan but imagine getting spoilt meat in your dish. They also sent lamb pork chops! I marked in the original order that I was vegan so how difficult is it to deliver vegan dishes which I originally ordered? They have no idea what vegan means btw as I was asked if I want paneer which is cheese. I sent the 3 spoilt dishes and the non vegan dish back and I called again that 2 items were missing and the guy asked me how I was going to pay- cash or card! Are you for real? All I ask for is delivery of the dishes I had ordered and paid for in the first place. Trying to give you 2 chances to fix your mistake and you still can’t get it right! I have been now on hold now for 15 minutes now as the guy said he was going to check with the chef - I think he forgot about me. Very bad service and I don’t even want any more food from you, I am going to complain to Uber eats. Really you shouldn’t serve the public! Update: 2 dishes were sent which I appreciate but I don’t want to risk and upset my stomach. I sent them back. My health is more important. I’ve increased the review to 3 stars but I will not order again unfortunately. Too much misunderstanding and also I don’t want to risk eating non vegans items, and taking chance of eating spoilt food. I’m hoping to get a refund from Uber eats as it was a total waste of time.

Awful service, food never arrived and phone un answered

Absolutely terrible experience with Indian Ocean recently. I have been ordering from here for the past 5 years. I placed a large order over £80 and the dishes had all spilled over the bag. The bottom of the bag was was a large vat of mixed mains. Vegetarian dishes mixed with meat dishes. Totally inedible. Called the restaurant asking for a replacement and was told the manager would call me back. 15 minutes later no call received. When I called back I was told I would be called back. I refused and said I would hold the line. Held for 35 minutes no answer. My husband called on his phone and when they answered and I told them I was still waiting they hung up. Seriously disappointed and will not be returning. Shame after 5 years.

If I could have given them zero stars, I would have. Two hours on and I am still waiting for my food. Ordered via UberEats, got no support at all whatsoever. If the food does turn up then I'm refusing it. If you want a great curry then order from Shish Mahal in Leyton or Forest Tandoori in Walthamstow. Honestly, this has cost me £30 so far and I've just spent £25 on an alternative. I thought I would give this place a try but good god, never again. Take heed, learn from my mistake and save yourself the bother. I think all of the five star reviews are from family members. Oh, also, I called them about twenty times and I think they've blocked/diverted my number. Pirates in the Indian Ocean, these lot. Arghhhhh And the worst thing about all of this........ YOU TOOK A YEAR TO REPLY TO THIS REVIEW 🤣👍🏻

Delicious local Indian takeaway

Food arrived 3 HOURS LATE. The "chilli chicken" curry was awful and tasteless, the chicken was bone dry and over cooked. There was no flavour at all. The keema paratha was thick dough and a flat thing horrible piece of meat in the middle. I would never ever buy food from here again.

I often order from these guys as the food, service and value for money is simply outstanding. I ordered the King Prawn Dhansak the other week and found that the prawns were succulent, sweet and in abundance, not too stingy with the prawns! Also had the perfect balance on having some heat to go with the sweetness of the dish. Their biryanis are to die for also. Highly recommend these guys. Foods always on time and the right order. Fabulous!

This is the only restaurant serves curry for biriyani. The prices completely very reasonable when compared to other restaurants in between walthamstow and Chingford region. I’ve placed orders for more than 20 times they never leave me with bad food experience. They are champ in indian food restaurant category without any question in mind. They don’t charge delivery fee in ubereats which is again very appreciated. INDIAN 🇮🇳 OCEAN 🌊 the best restaurant🍱🥘

If I could give it one word: Amazing. That doesn’t do this place justice though. The curry was amazing (vindaloo and madras). The chicken was tender and the sauce had a lot of flavour. We asked to make the vindaloo extra spicy, and that is what we got. It was amazing. Will for sure order from here again.

Chose a selection of dishes as this is my first takeaway order here. This is a seated restaurant. The food was fresh and tasty. Enjoyed the onion bhaji, Bombay aloo and keema naan in particular.

Food was great although didn't taste much coconut in the peshwari naan. I asked for the food to come at half 7 and they accepted it for 7:45 but then it came at 7. I still enjoyed the food a lot but it was a little cold when I got to it as I hadn't heard my housemate properly when it came, as I didn't expect it so early.

Really nice flavours, however, the chicken was very dry & should have been a bit spicy. Vegetable curry was tasty. I will definitely order again as you can taste how fresh the food was.

Shame as our coconut naan bread didn't even have the slightest taste of coconut !. apart from the bread it was all good.

Wonderful food, and delivered ahead of time. Really good selection of veggie dishes, and some real specialities that you don't see very often. It felt like real restaurant quality food, and the stuffed parathas are amazing!! Looking forward to trying more of the menu very soon.

food was 45 minutes late - and when we phoned them for the third time our call wasn’t even answered - quite sad as I order from here a lot but the last few times have had awful delivery times - good food but definitely not fast. very disappointed.

The chicke tikka masala was beautiful plenty in the portion and even some left over, the onion bhaji's were the best ive eaten and the chicken biryani was really tasty, all round the food was delicious

I have ordered from here many times before and this has always been my first choice to order from as it is local and the food is always good. This time, however, I was disappointed. The food was ok but delivery took 90 minutes (for a restaurant 5 minutes away - if I’d known I would have gone to get it or ordered elsewhere before my children fell asleep without eating). Boxes were squashed in the bag which meant things leaking everywhere. All a bit of a mess today.

The curry chicken was hard and not cooked for taste. The chicken tikka masala was ok but very very sweet.. coconut rice was sticky. Pashwari naan was lovely

The food was yummy! Lots of meat in the curries. Only thing was that we found the bahji and the sag aloo/Bombay aloo had quite a lot of grease. Korma and tikka masala curries were delicious. Will be ordering again :)

Worst Indian takeaway ever. Ordered a chicken curry no flavour no spice but plenty of oil . Side dish once again no flavour or spice just covered in oil. I could of probably filled up my 5litre fryer with the amount of oil that was in their. So disappointed a waste of money.

Food was nice but disappointed with how many samosas you get for the price

We regularly order from here and it’s usually great but this time we did not receive our order of samosas that we ordered and paid for. They said they would send them around to us but we are still waiting 4 hours later!!!!

Food was terrible the 2 naan breads were rock hard. Curry drowned in oil. Mix grill had no flavour (king prawn butterfly was nice). First and last time I order from here again £27 spent ate £4's worth threw the rest away. Im down £23......... Not sure if it was an off day or if they got Stevie Wonder to do the cooking today.

the order was originally made for 8:15 then they made it 8:30 which was and hour and half wait, the driver was unable to find my house, even with the correct address which made it a further 15 mins late, not getting my food till 8:45. The food had leaked all in the bag, the food was then cold also very greasy and oily, with very little flavour. after all that we ended up not eating half the dinner and it was a waste of money

Cold on arrival with stale papadums

Seven mins before the 50 mins order delivery time was up, the restaurant texted to say the order would be delayed by 20 mins. Unfortunately, after that time expired, it was then a further 20 mins late! Total time from order to arrival - 1hr 30 mins. We've ordered from here before, usually food is very good but on this occasion it was average. Food from has often been seriously late but the quality has just about made up for it. Not today.

Fantastic. The best Indian I have ever had. Full of flavour. And I also checked their food hygiene rating and was very happy to see a 5! Keep up the good work and we will order again

Food was great but the containers didn't hold well

The driver went to the wrong flats and for some reason drove into their secure car park. I had to go to collect my food from him. Also the chips and naan were cold and the popadom soggy.

Really enjoyed our meal...was really tasty -flavour just right on the Butter Chicken,Chicken Balti was very nice, good amount of meat also. The mushroom rice was very flavoursome with extra peppers that worked really well and made it colourful. Ate almost everything -which is rare for us. Thank you. Was excellent.

Ok! I gave this place another try and I’m so glad I did. This time the food was amazing! I loved it. The drinks were cold, the order was correct. I loved the daal soup. My only thing is the food was late but would I order again? Yes. The food arrived hot. Yes a bit spilled again but I don’t mind it was nothing like the last order.

If you haven't checked out the menu here, do it. Now. And if you can't find something you like, you don't like Indian food. So much to choose from, and after a good many orders I have yet to find something I don't like. Food is invariable well prepared, and there are some unique speciality dishes on offer. On this order, we were notified early of a delay to the estimated ETA, but it still turned up on time - I'm seeing a lot of places being a bit cautious with ETAs on busy nights recently. DEFINITELY recommended.

driver got lost and missed call by 5 mins when I phoned back spoke to restaurant who first hung up on me then was rude even though the driver was at wrong flat and told me “do you want your food or not” and didn’t even apologise when I went outside and driver wasn’t there even though he told me he was knocking on my door! that plus some pretty average food with over cocked hard chicken not impressed!

The dansak was spilled every where. Hardly any prawns. Stale popadom. Warm soda... couldnt eat it...

Rude driver. Said my postcode was incorrect yet I have used the exact one for every deli every freon just eat. And I live here I think I know my own postcode !

mixed starter was a bit on the burnt side. small bag of salad looked wilted and watery. everything else was nice as in taste and presentation.
