Inari Sushi & Grill in Peterborough

Staff not interested in you at all. Cheap interior and decor. Shame as food was ok. Expensive for what you get especially seen as it’s in Peterborough.

The food was absolutely amazing and I genuinely couldn’t fault any of dishes they also came out on time. We weren’t rushed at all. We will definitely return. This review would have had a 5 Star review and in fairness the food deserves 5 stars. However the front of house service needs to match the standard of the food. I don’t want to lambast them to much as one member of waiting staff was clearly new and training. We sat down at our table at 19:00 and were asked if we wanted a drinks having ordered the drinks for the two of us three drinks promptly arrived?. There were only two other couples in the place. It then got quite busy and from a service point of view it was like watching a car crash is slow motion. It was quite funny at times but ultimately it made the whole experience frustrating because it could have been fantastic. Basically we weren’t asked if we wanted another drink in the hour and half we were there even though at one point my empty beer glass was quickly whisked away as they needed it for another table. So if you want amazing food with A modern Fawlty Towers like twist on the front of house service you will love it. We were frustrated by the service but will definitely be drawn back due to the quality of the sushi. It also gets quite noisy in there but that wouldn’t put us off either.

Got off to a bad start as the front of house claimed I had not booked. I had used the online system and had given my credit card details. Clearly there are issues with this system as I over heard someone else having problems too. However we returned half an hour later and we were seated. We ordered the vegetarian sushi for 3. At first I thought the prawn was fake shrimp and realised it was real and then we found salmon in a sushi roll. This is really poor. One of the 3 of us does eat fish, so he got it all. Really not acceptable at all, and very disappointing as there were plenty of veggie bits on the menu. We were then asked if we ate fish! Well, no that’s why we ordered vegetarian!! When we mentioned this again at the end we got an apology and I was asked for my email address and told I would be sent a voucher. One week on, nothing !! Shocking really, they clearly don’t care. What we had was tasty and nicely presented and cooked but pricey for a bit of rice and vegetables, London prices in Peterborough without good service.

Fantastic sushi! I had never been before and my friend raved about it so she took me and I wasn’t disappointed. The food quality was excellent. The delux maki rolls were excellent, as were the gyoza. Very very good job indeed, I would highly recommend.

Visited mid week. Food was amazing, they had different types of saki, which were fin to try, house wine was good and reasonably priced, service was excellent. Overall price for 4 was around £150 which is pretty fair, given the quality of food. Will definitely be back!:-)

The food is incredible amazing ) the dumplings are unbelievable . Atmosphere is special and very warm , friendly stuff and very profesional and the presentation of food take the restaurant into a another level. And a plus of amazing cocktails !!! There is no better sushi experience outside of London in the UK. I’m a huge fan of sushi and am always keen to try sushi restaurants at home or abroad. This is an amazing find! We have been here 4 times over the past two years and every time the food and service has been phenomenal. I thoroughly recommend sitting at the chefs table as well if you want to watch the team preparing the food as well. Cannot wait to go back again!

Great sushi place in Peterborough. You can order direct with restaurant which is cheaper compared to just eat. Has to be the best sushi I’ve had, so fresh. Bit pricey but worth it

We have eaten here multiple times, both in the restaurant or as take out. Every time the food has been amazing - totally consistent. We always have a mixed piece set with a few extras on the side. The best restaurant in town - I'd encourage anyone to eat here.

We came for a family meal, our first time in this restaurant and we are new to Japanese cuisine, so didn't know what to expect. Initially got a little concerned as the place was completely devoid of any customers, but it looked really lovely and fresh. The main part is of course the food. I can't praise it highly enough. We ordered a good variety of dishes, all absolutely amazing. The portions are quite small, so we could not resist ordering more. Fantastic experience, wonderful service, we will be back soon.

I visited Inari with a friend as a birthday meal. I was greeted with a little birthday card and a shot of saké which was a lovely touch. We sat at the chef’s table. The chef/owner (apologies, we didn’t get your name) made some great suggestions - we had a mix of snacks, sushi dishes, and grill dishes, all of which were fantastic. We also enjoyed a sample of desserts from the menu - all of which were delicious - a particular favourite was the banana donuts! Plus, the espresso martini was amongst the best I’ve had - you can tell all things here are done with attention to detail. Was also happy to see really high levels of cleanliness, gloves constantly changed and hands washed and washed again between every prep. I rarely leave reviews, but the quality of the sushi, beautiful plating and brilliant service can’t go un-mentioned. These people are great at what they do, and we will definitely be back. Thank you for a lovely experience.

Tried to book a table but was told that they only take online bookings. The booking system requires credit card details which I am not prepared to give so no visit. What a strange way to run a business. No option here to give no “star” unfortunately.

Have never been to a sushi restaurant before so tried here for something new. Was not disappointed. Food and service exceptional! A very unique restaurant in the heart of peterborough. We sat at the chefs table and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The owner/chef was very friendly and hugely passionate about what he does. It isn't cheap, however the cost is reflected in the quality and presentation.
