Ace pizza, lovely staff and a real nice surprise to see an interesting non alcoholic drinks menu, with the type of drinks you don’t often see in the UK. Just go.

I’m literally sat here half way through my pizza and I can’t wait till I’m finished to say THIS IS THE BEST PIZZA IVE EVER EATEN and I’ve eaten pizza in Italy & New York! 10/10

Nice staff and decor/ vibe. Seated without booking. Plenty of veggie and vegan options. Only thing I struggled with was not recognising/ understanding some ingredients! Would like to see some sides on the menu too e.g salad/ veg/ fries and maybe some sauces on the table

Food was great, top quality ingredients. Service was ok, staff just didn’t seem overly bothered which added to the almost too laid back atmosphere. Wish they took cash too

Pity this place was actually open when it says it is. Also I have tried a dozen times to place a collection order but then it says it’s not taking orders. Also the phone number goes straight answerphone. Can see this being out of business by the end of 2024

Just had the pleasure of ordering a pizza to the cap and collar over the road and wow this has to be the best pizza I've ever had (and I've had quite a few 😂) staff went above and beyond absolutely amazing service and food.

We got a takeout to cap and collar across the road from the restaurant. The pizza was hands down the best we have ever eaten. The staff go above and beyond. We won't be ordering pizza from anywhere else...EVER AGAIN!!

Very interesting menu and we all had pizzas with "new to us" ingredients. I had a beetroot based pizza and it had roasted hazelnuts on it and was delicious. Would definitely go again. Staff lovely and chef not phased by allergies or intolerances and made pizza's to cope with special diets. Small interior but very friendly.

My partner and I drove down from Durham and we weren't disappointed. Everything about these pizzas was phenomenal. Fresh flavours, ingredients of such high quality and fantastic service. Couldn't recommend high enough 👏🏻

I've waited several months before I wrote this review. Been several times now and each time every pizza and corresponding toppings have all been well balanced, flavourful and perfectly cooked. It's an open kitchen, so you can see them at work too ! They may not have a fancy pants, copper glad 100 thousand pound oven.... but what they do have is passion, creativity and a respect for ingredients. I watch them handle those dough pucks, light and pillowy with real life in it. Don't expect thick bases etc...you have to appreciate their particular style and allow the flavours and Chewiness of the dough to make your taste buds tingle. I love the simple, yet well thought out interior which reflects the chefs personality. The service is very friendly and non-judgemental. The team work well together and are very helpful. The atmosphere is great and they have a well thought out drinks selection. I'm not sure what else I can say, suffice to say it's a real Gem, worth a special journey for sure ! They are also quite flexible if you want to substitute bases etc. It's one of the best pizza joints in the Yorkshire for sure. Obviously from my review, you will have noted that I'm a Pizza lover !

So delicious! I echo the other reviews... everything about this place is top notch!I came over from Leeds and will definitely be making the journey again just for this place. The dough itself was so tasty and the flavours worked so well together, I'd go as far as to say beautifully! Really friendly staff and good beer too. Can't wait to taste more!

Great pizza, real Neapolitan style, with some delicious and unusual topping combos. Fantastic veggie and vegan selection, but something for the meat eaters too. I also love their fun decor! We are regulars here eating in and take away, so lucky to have this little gem in Saltaire.

AMAZING!!!! The service was wonderful, didn't know what to order and the lady behind the counter was super helpful and friendly. The owner (who was making the pizza's) offered some suggestions and even offered to change some topping for my preference. Then the pizza's came along...WOW!!!! Soo delicious, airy, the textures and taste perfectly complimented each other. The atmosphere was welcoming and warm, lovely music to accompany the equally lovely pizza I can safely say....once you've had these pizza's...you'll never go back to anything else! Highly recommended!

I have had an amazing pizza from here with fantastic aromas and amazing flavours . This time it didn't quite hit the spot ,no helped by a pair foul mouthed tough guys who would have made a yo e feel uncomfortable . Will go again tomorrow but opt for takeaway and ext time

A M A Z I N G Just perfect, wanting to go for months, finally yesterday, lovely lunch.Back again today as I spotted the vegan pizzas yesterday but we'd shared a perfect, light margherita yesterday. If possible, even better today , tried 2 vegan! Chef /owner lovely, knowledgeable, humble with passion for ingredients -1st class, fermented dough (great for digestion, gut health) , light tasty. You won't feel stodgy,weighed down, light as a feather, authentic, first class. Great for Vegans. Artichoke to die for. Great drinks too, not pricey just good value, good stuff.

The decor is fantastic, bright and open. They've a small menu with a wide range of pizza toppings. All pizza's are serve hot an' fresh, as and when they're ready. The dough is delicous, worth mentioning and trying obviously! Loads of nice pop and beer of you want too

We were booked in for a private party on Sunday night. Having looked at the menus for the pizzas and beer, we were looking forward to it. And we were not disappointed! We weren't rushed, had some great beers (my first non-alcohol craft beer and it was amazing) and my pizza was fantastic - fresh cooked, thin base with fresh garlic and parsley base, creamy mozzarella and sweet yellow tomatoes, with basil olive oil and balsamic. Bang on! The staff were so friendly, the pizza chef was on full view and got about 20 pizzas to the guests swiftly and without missing a beat. Highly recommended, best pizza, beer and service we've had in a long time. Good luck guys!

I have just eaten Vegan Pizza at its very best. Flavours to die for, simply the best. The most interesting and amazing combination of flavours. First class service too, can’t fault anything, only positive praise and would highly recommend. If you’re in Saltaire this is the place to eat !

Really lovely pizza with an interesting selection. Staff accommodating squeezing our large group around a table. Good craft beers on too. Looking forward to coming back, the crust alone was better than some pizzas I've had!

Fantastic fresh pizza. Ingredients are perfect. Not personally a fan of such a thin base and thick soft crust. The base and crust is very simple and could be more flavoursome and crisp.

Delicious pizzas, crispy, chewy crust and dough. Incredible fresh ingredients - the mozzarella is very creamy, and works amazingly well with the highly unique flavours. Our favourite was the Marco - pistachio cream base, lemon zest, crushed pistachios with prosciutto and pecorino is truly a taste to behold. The Scarponi was delicious and unique, with really tasty nduja, and peppers breaking up the tanginess. When I took a bite of the Margherita I was transported back to a little pizzeria around the corner from the Uffizi we visited in 2016. The tomato and mozzarella do not disappoint as the star of the show and the base adds to the contrasting tastes - beautiful pizza.

Went in on Friday night, we'd usually go to Salt for pizza but it was rammed so thought we'd try something new. I can honestly say the pizza was the best I've ever had. You can tell from the taste that the ingredients used are so high quality and that the chefs take such pride in what they do. Beautifully decorated restaurant and really friendly attentive staff too. I even got sent home with a little Tupperware tub of one of their ingredients that I totally fell in love with. Above and beyond food and service, 10000/10 ❤️

Such amazing pizzas! We've been fans of IPP for a long time now and loved seeing this local, family business go from strength to strength. I follow their Instagram and can see how much research, care and attention has gone into perfecting their recipes and it absolutely shows in the end product which is hands down the best pizza I've ever had. Definitely recommend the Assanino but so much many to choose from and lots of tasty vegan options too!

Came for the first time with my daughter and son in law last night. The pizza was delicious, light and fluffy. And the restaurant is so bright and friendly. I'll be back.

Just finished my pizza in Il Pirata and very impressed. The pizza is amazing, the Biga dough beautifully light and airy and the quality of ingredients used on the toppings is plain to taste. If you are used to, and after, a regular pizza joint this isn't the place for you. This is beautifully crafted pizza with awesome ingredients in quirky setting. Service is great with a good selection of beers for the boys, possibly slightly lacking on the alcoholic side for the girls. Great local little business using great ingredients knocking out great pizza. My only gripe, and its one of the world in general rather than this place specifically, is that it's cashless which is a big bugbear of mine. All in all though, if you like a pizza, give it a try.

Ok. Nothing more. Expensive. £10 for pint of lager. Uncomfortable chairs. Nice pizza. But not nice enough to negate the rest

Honestly one of the tastiest Pizza's in the land! The team clearly take great pride in the menu with a great range of fresh and AUTHENTIC pizzas. We were really impressed staff on our visit this Saturday. The drinks selection also a treat and had clearly been carefully considered to compliment the menu. Cant wait to return!

Popped in on a Saturday, with my friend W H Greaves. Lovely look and feel to the restaurant. It's next level pizza, genuinely different, in a good way. Strong recommend.

Visited on opening weekend after supporting the pop up. It was busy (which was great to see) but there were still tables free to dine in. Delicious Scarponi pizza as always. Keep up the good work guys

il-pirata were our go to pizza take out when they were a mere pop-up last year. We are so happy that they have made the leap and got their own premises locally to us, they knock the competitors out of the water. We finally got the chance to pop in yesterday afternoon and have a dine in experience. It’s evident that they have really taken care to do something different with the decor. It’s pretty special. Not the usual green/red combo. As for the food (the main event) it didn’t disappoint - I’m not a wordy type, so I’ll keep it short. It’s a revelation, like no pizza bread /topping you’ll get at your usual take away - absolutely dish-licious We had: Diavola Marco Nibali Scarponi (veggie version) Margarita (for the kids) And some good beers We’ll be back ❤️

Disappointed- I don't like to leave bad review for a new business but I won't be going back. The base was light and airey, the toppings however were non existent. Just mediocre pizza at premium price. Decor and staff are nice..... but I've had better pizza at home. Also I see 6 of the 7 reviews are form last year and it opened last week- what's going on here!

The pizzas are so fresh and bursting with flavour. Their dough is unusual in this part of the world for being exceptionally close to authentic Naples product, with the caveat that nothing short of being in Naples is the real, real thing. But Il Pirata is gorgeous stuff. You won’t regret getting one of their pizzas. We’re big fans of the Assassino di Vampiri.
