Great chippy, tasty food.... I don't go anywhere else as it is pretty consistent unlike others around the area 😏, portion sizes are good and the staff are always pleasant!

We have been using this chippy for many many years and have always recommended to others. Chips were always the best around!! Recently there has been a clear decline and we won’t be using anymore ☹️ such a shame the quality has dropped massively- chips are very poor quality

Never going here again, I got verbally attacked by another customer on Saturday who thought (wrongly - I was slightly out on the person in front ready to go around as they were waiting for something to be cooked, the bloke came behind me and said I wasn't in the queue, even the guy cooking told the lady to move to the other side) I had pushed in. Came right up to my face swearing and threatening to teach me a lesson as well as trying to take me outside. All the staff did was say there are customers in here - yes, me but you didn't think of that. Wouldn't recommend this place at all, they don't keep you safe.

Great Chippy, when there for lunch and dinner yesterday !!

The chips looked liked they had been there since dinnertime and nearly every chip had an eye in it. I understand a couple of eyes but I felt like I had an audience

We came up from London, to go to the Building Show, NEC. We wanted Chips, to put I our Tuna sandwiches. Please don't knock it till you tryed it, yummy in my tummy. Anyway, Ideal Chippy, from the outside window 🪟 to inside sooooo clean. Staff are all lovely, friendly. We brought Fish & Chips 🍟 😋. So fresh, hot it came with curry sauce. Would I come here again, absolutely 💯

I can honestly hand on heart say the food from this place puts all other chippy to shame his chicken kebab meat is well cooked and tastes beautiful his tinned roe is the best I had in God knows how long and his chips are light and fluffy best meal I had in ages deffo gonna become a regular 5 stars all round

Thought I’d try some cod and chips from here, not been for a few years due to the pandemic. Prices for cod and chips are now way too expensive, beyond a joke.

Go there regularly and it is really good as a rule. But it is hit and miss with the chips. Sometimes they're not cooked enough or dry, but when they're nice you can't beat them. The staff are lovely.

Best chippy in the local area hands down... Food is fresh everytime, even if close to closing time.. Staff are great, never had a bad order from Ideal... Our go to chippy when at home.... Delivery is always quick through uber aswell.

First time ordering from ideal fish bar online using uber eats. I ordered to my hotel address with no problem at all. Delivery was very prompt. Great portion size and delicious food. Would highly reccomend and will use again when next in Birmingham. Thanks so much :)

After a mistake made by uber driver, I received a soggy order. A quick call to the chippy, manager happily sent me the same order, and he covered the uber charge too. Had 3 pieces of southern fried , scraggiest pieces of meatless order ever . Wont be using again . Obviously sent me rubbish pieces couldnt sell in the shop . Couple of bits of meat and rest in the bin . Waste of money

3 uber orders I've used at this place and all 3 times my order has been wrong. The food is amazing to be fair BUT please try to read special instructions

The chips were ok, the cod was not cod ! Having worked in the fish market for yrs I know what cod looks and tastes like. Just bland white fish,the batter was wet not crunchy.

Visited here monday 17th aug 2020 wasnt happy at all the chips were vile (soft) and the fish batter was rock hard, im guessing its been sat there under the heater for a good few hours, and the kebab meat was just above poor, when this was the bell chippy 20 yrs back it was the best around, its now a shadow of its former self....avoid.

Ordered for the first time and I have to say the best chippy I've eaten from in a good few years!! Fish was amazing just enough batter. Came piping hot and melt in the mouth! Well done, hard to find a brilliant chippy where they actually cares about the food they serve. Youll definitely be 1st on my take away list!

I’ve just been to you for the first time tonight recommended by friends. OMG!!!!!! The southern fried chicken breasts were moist and thick with a nice coating. Without a doubt the best I’ve had. The mrs had tikka chicken off the spit, again tasty moist meat. Madras sauce blew me lips off!!!!! Friendly staff, very polite and quick. Was still pipin when we got home. Defo my new chippy!!!! Thank you.

Just been there asked for cod&chips 2chicken and mushroom pies & abig bag of chips. Got home to no cod just a few chips. And 2 beef pies not happy at all

First time of going to this chippy on friday last week the food was amazing, chips are the best chips i have tasted since trying lots of chippys in the area and the kebab meat was so tasty, 2nd visit by hubby and the pies were just as delightful would definitely recommend this chippy in the whole of chelmsley wood/tile cross😬

Absolutely amazing chippy, many chip shops in area are boring and bland but food here was really enjoyable and the staff go above and beyond to provide amazing service. Will definitely be coming back.

The best meat and chips with salad I've had the salad is chilled at 5 degrees the meat is to the for and the chips are hot and fresh melt in the mouth meal and get a family of 5 for under 20 pound top marks

Used this chip shop a few times now. Wow there really are people who remember how a chip shop should be. Clean. Great choice and always hot fresh and very tasty food. Seriously this is simply the best chip shop ever. Well done. Please will you consider opening sundays evenings. This chip shop destroys all other chippys in the area
