Hutton Spice in Brentwood

First they got the price wrong then they forgot a side dish, once we had dished up the food the rice was excellent but the chicken was awful - hard and tough to chew. The chicken tikka had an horrible after taste and was left! Really disappointed as was really looking forward to our food. Won’t be using again!

Disgusting service. Waited almost 2 hrs for delivery when called multiple times. They lied where the order was and last time we called we basically got laughed off the phone. Terrible service!!!

I ordered online yesterday directly to their website. It said it was 50 to 60 minutes for delivery. An hour and 20 minutes later, I rang a number of times to ask where my delivery was but got no answer. I then went to the restaurant only to see both phones were off the hook. When I asked where my food was, he checked his computer and they hadn't even opened my order. It appears to me that since winning the curry award, they have been caught on the hop.

Quite simply - disgusting. Chicken was cold, tough and inedible. Clearly all been pre-cooked this morning and lightly warmed in a microwave meaning it was dried and shrivelled . The naan wasn’t cooked and was still in a dough-like state and the onion bharji looked like it was a week old and burnt. This has been the same for the last 3/4 takeaways from here and for £25, it was a total rip off. Definitely won’t use again

My husband ordered takeaway for me to pick up on my way home, he forgot to order the popadoms & sauces but they added them anyway & said we will sort it out next time, great food & staff very polite & very helpful, good value for money too, definitely be back soon

Take away, not visit. Never ceases to amaze me, the quality of the Prawn Bhoona, Brinjal Bhaji Aubergine, is amazing. Have eaten from here for years, and must say truly superb food.

Regularly have a takeaway here and last Sat was as usual great. Prawn Ceylon was out of this world. Aubergine and niramish dry veg also first class. Keep going, but stop the delivery charge so I can give the delivery driver a tip.😂

Have eaten curry for 65 years, as a youngster in Malaya, and throughout my younger years. Tonight I had King prawn Ceylon, with coconut rice. The starter being Tandoori chicken, well this turned out to be chicken tikka, also ordered spicy pompadours which turned out to be 2 lots of normal pompadours. How ever, the king prawn Ceylon and coconut rice was one of the best I have ever had in my life, a big statement I know but hell it was sooooogood.

Really disappointed. We have been using Hutton Spice in Rayleigh Road Hutton for many years. Tonight they messed up our order. Sent chicken instead of prawns ( my friend is pescatarian). They refused to take responsibility, were very rude and would only send a replacement if we paid full price. Also sent food to the wrong address. Such a shame. Usually food and service is of a high standard. Can’t believe they have let me down and do not value me as a long term loyal customer. Especially when I have friends for dinner. Sadly won’t be using them again.

I visit this takeaway every week, food is always nice and the place is clean, specially withFIVE STAR food hygiene ratings, I service is very good and price is very reasonable.

We’ve used the Hutton Spice for about a year or so and the food has been very good. The reason for the low score is because of the service, if you collect be prepared to wait for circa 30 mins after the suggested pick up time. After 3 weeks of this experience, we then moved onto delivery.... just as bad and this week nothing has arrived. Good food, if it ever arrives.....

New years eve took 3 hours to arrive..phoned 4 times promised 20 minutes each time accepted as was New years Eve and food was good. Promised discount next time offered 10 pound accepted on basis owner checked as no salad last time food arrived no bombay potatoea this time...wont be using again

I phoned to give Hutton Spice my order, which I was told to collect 45 minutes later . When I got there I waited another 15 minutes for my order, which I took straight home, a 5 minute car journey away. My food was cold, I had to warm it up in the microwave. I am not sure what dish I was waiting the 15 minutes for when all of them were cold when I got home ! . This is the first time I have used this takeaway and I won’t be going back .

I visited this place on Sunday for a takeaway, I asked the gentleman behind counter to recommend a spicy chicken dish for me and he selected a dish for me, when I came home and opened the container to eat I was so happy that I took his recommendation. The curry smell was so lovely and even tasted so delicious, I would definitely order the same curry again. The place look nice and clean and I can tell you the stuff are very friendly and professional.

A good range of choice and dishes were well priced. Placed the order in person and the staff were helpful and my meal was cooked within the time suggested. My lamb naga was hot, but had subtle spice flavours - it did not just blast you with heat. The nan was cooked well as was the rice. My only grumble was the fact that the onion bhaji was a bit on the oily side. So close to a 5 rating but will definitely order from here again when I'm next in the area.

The curry is always very good and I enjoy the rice, salads and nans. The food was ready when we went to collect it, which was within the agreed time slot

We have had a takeaway from here ever since it opened. The food was always great. The last two times have been very disappointing. The food barely warm. Today was no exception. The food was barely warm, the onion bahji was as dry as cardboard and the Rogan sauce was tasteless!! I’m guessing that either it’s changed ownership or there’s been a change of chef! Either way we won’t be going back!!

Always ordered from here and the food is good but this is the third time the order has been wrong - poppadoms with onion salad and no mango chutney or mint sauce delivered. Very unhelpful when I phoned, saying the mint sauce they do is free! Well I’ve paid for it many of times before. How can you deliver 5 poppadoms with no sauces and be so unhelpful when we call to complain, will take my business elsewhere thank you!

First and last order with Hutton Spice. Order took forever to arrive, turned up with a dish missing and one dish wrong. Food wasn’t hot. Called to ask for the missing dish and was questioned accusingly. Then when driver turned up, he told us he had put the dish in the bag, again accusing us of lying. Walked off without finishing the conversation as if he had no time for us. No apology. Dinner ruined. Waste of £30.

My friend and I have ordered food here several times a year. Our girls night in would not be complete without a curry from this take away. The food is tasty and great value for money I would recommend this to anyone in the area.

I have been a regular customer most Fridays alternating with our favourite Chinese.However the quality and the taste of the food has deteriorated. They use the same sauce for every dish and the food is bland. This is very poor for an Indian take away. I have traveled to India so have a fair idea with regards to flavours. This started about 7 months ago and although we returned a few times hoping it was due to a change of staff but it hasn't improved. I did point this out.Will not be using them again.

Food is always cold even though they’ve “cooked it fresh” and you wait 20+ minutes when you’re COLLECTING. Mixed up my orders twice now and I have to travel back to get this changed and staff are rude, quick to get you in and out and off the phone. Such a shame as this was the best Indian takeaway in Hutton but will be looking elsewhere going forward.

Placed a takeaway order, was told an hour, chased after 1hr 15m to be told 5 mins, after 1hr 45 mins still no food, rang again, and whilst having a moan about it the guy hung up on me. Will never use them again. Shocking way to treat your customers.

This is a Take-Away only restaurant with good parking and friendly staff. We dropped in after 9pm on a Saturday and the staff helped us pick some excellent items that offered a great range of spiciness levels and tastes. Would recommend this for lunch or dinner that you can buy and take away home or office. A delicious lamb Kashmiri was grilled then cooked with sauces.

Hi I just tried to order from the website and when going through the order there was only one nann bread instead of two with the set meal for two. When I questioned this I was told I was a stupid women and should have known. And everyone wants something for nothing. Even though 2 are advertised. I have used them since they opened and never experienced such rudeness when questioning the online offer. The food is good but will never use them again due to their rudeness when questioning the error on their website. Great food but if you question anything beware you might not get all the order.

I'd have no hesitation in recommending Hutton Spice, we have had many a good takeaway from here! The biriyani, naan and dahl is great!

We have used Hutton Spice several times now and food always good quality. The delivery service is great. Only inconsistency is sometimes they throw in free poppadums with yoghurt and onion salad but often (and this is even if we have ordered a large quantity) they don't include. I know they're free but consistency would be nice.

Yo estaba con mi esposa en Shenfield un viernes por la noche y decidimos dar una primera prueba este hindú para llevar. Normalmente y Nirvana en Ingatestone donde no tienen problema en cuidadosamente catering para intolerancia a la lactosa de mi esposa (esto no es una opción la dieta). Cuando entramos nos Spice Hutton inmediatamente noté que hay una lista de tipos de alergia alimentaria adjunta a la parte superior de la barra de servicio, lo cual fue muy alentadora. Luego nos explicaron el caballero del mostrador que necesitábamos para poder con confianza Pida comida para llevar para mi esposa que no contienen lactosa. Él respondió que no era un problema ya que no podían proporcionar dichos platos principales. Pensamos que él debe haber sido un poco confuso, así que me explicó de nuevo y me dijo que normalmente tenemos ciertos platos de otros restaurantes indios sin problema alguno. De nuevo nos dijo que no podía proporcionar un plato gratis y más lactosa para mi sorpresa que explique todas sus salsas son hechas de la misma salsa base que ya se ha hecho a granel y contiene lactosa. Hizo luego asomarnos a través de la puerta de la cocina y grita a través del jefe que confirmó que no podía satisfacer nuestras necesidades dietéticas. Debo añadir que no había otros clientes en la tienda de la calle este punto así que no estoy seguro de cómo ocupados estaban. Con esto, nos fuimos y nos Tandoori Nights en Shenfield donde no hemos sido durante unos años. Aquí recibimos un excelente servicio y atención a las necesidades específicas de la dieta de mi esposa y dejó allí con una sobresaliente que merece llevar nuestro negocio repetido. Nos quedaremos leales a Nirvana con ocasionales visitas a otros restaurantes indios locales pero obviamente no puedo ni probar la comida en Hutton Spice hasta que base sus platos en más de una salsa.

Have discovered Hutton Spice in last few months. Would now not go anywhere else. We have a curry every week and have done for years. Honesty this is the best by far. We happily travel from Billericay. Lamb tikka starter is best I have had.

Very rude told me one price over phone then when picked up food wanted more than told instead saying sorry made a mistake was very rude seem to me to be a bit racist laughing at me when complained don't go there unless you want to be over charged then laughed at when complain

La comida era excelente, que normalmente ve para llevar pero circunstancias dictado lo contrario. Ordenados por teléfono para una entrega de casa. 45 minutos fue dado como el tiempo de entrega, pero la comida llegó en 30 minutos. Que normalmente comemos en el Nirvana en Ingatestone donde la comida es muy buena, así que nuestra comida para llevar Hutton Spice fue una muy buena experiencia. Sin duda volvería allí.

Honestly can't praise this place enough, myself and my mum have definitely crowned this place the best Indian take away in the area by far. The food is always hot, delicious and full of flavour. Never have we ever had a complaint about the place. The staff are friendly, honestly it's just perfect!

Well, what can I say this takeaway was spotless, and the staff were friendly and polite.We chose 2 chicken dishes and rice, the chicken was lovely, not chewy like some places, do hate rubbery chicken! Really enjoyed the food, if you are in the area 'give it a go'

Went to visit friend in Hutton, on the way stop and order food from this takeaway which look fabulous from outside, very clean and very good location also easy to find parking. Ordered tandoori King prawn korai for my self and children shashlik bhoona for my friend, arrived to my friend house and when opened food was hot as its just been cooked now and tasted full of flavour, afternoon eating this food my friend who normally order from another local takeaway said will order from this Hutton spice all the time. Now you will have another regular customer Hutton spice, thanks for serving me this delicious food, keep it up.

I have driven past this restaurant many times and decided to look it up on trip advisor and saw all the positive reviews so we ordered a take away from there and asked if they could deliver to Billericay about 5 miles away they delivered our meal in 40 mins and I must say what meal this is my new Indian restaurant/ take away ! Great food

Been using Hutton Spice for years, never had anything other than superb quality food, never messed up an order, delivery or collection, always hot. Easy to park if collecting, beats driving round and round shenfield to pick up a takeaway. Would never go anywhere else.

We have used Hutton Spice on several occasions and the food has always been excellent. The staff are very friendly and are happy to make something if it is not on the menu. On this particular evening, we dropped in without pre-ordering and they were very quick to prepare the food.

we live in Billericay but always travel to Hutton for our Indian takeaway as the food here is always superb....whatever we've ordered has been great and service is cheery and helpful.....cash paying gets a discount but they do take credit cards...and they will deliver too!

This is the best Indian around. We moved from Brentwood to Billericay and they still deliver to us. We eat from here most weekends! Really lovely food. We wouldn't go anywhere else. Thankyou.

We decided to go to Hutton Spice after hearing many positive things about the take away. It certainly lived up to expectation. Great food and great service and a very good price. We now order on a regular basis as a weekend treat.

Since this takeaway opened we have continued to use them when we fancy an Indian meal. The food is cooked to order and we have never had a bad dish. We try to choose something different as the food is so lovely. All of our family & friends who have tried this takeaway have agreed with us that the food is fabulous.

If you are visiting Brentwood, Shenfield or Hutton areas and are looking for an excellent Indian food takeaway, then I would without doubt recommend Hutton Spice every time. The service is excellent and the quality of the food is second to none,.

Hutton Spice is honestly the best Indian takeaway I've had. It is literally a 1 minute walk from when I live so is extremely convenient.Had this tonight but me and my family order from here at least once a fortnight! Would never even consider a different one unless I moved out of the area!!Definitely worth the 5 stars. And the staff are very friendly. They even know who we are when we call!

Having tried the majority of indian takeaways around the area (theres no shortage of choice) we regularly order from the Hutton Spice. never had a bad meal, sometimes collect & sometimes they deliver. Always good food & service.their sag paneer is the best around !
