Hup Lee in North Lanarkshire

This was my first visit since before covid. The staff as usual are so attentive, hard working, the restaurant as usual is spotless, the food obviously is always fresh, however, since my last visit I found the selection had changed to boring, there were more fried vegetables like green beans, fried broccoli, and onion rings, in my opinion it was like the management were cutting down to maximise profit rather than maintaining a tasty and interesting meal for customers, as I said earlier, the more times I went up to smaller the given choices, the more bored I became, one dish merged into the next taste wise, however, at the end, their usual apple crumble and custard was as usual excellent, and given the price including a half pint shandy at just over £24.00, the whole exercise was a ripoff, I've had a much tastier take away from Lidl a £2.89. Really disappointed with this place. I was starving when I arrived and went for chicken curry after 2 bites I was strangely very full which made no sense, so I asked if there was MSG in the food and was told yes, I think there should be info about what's actually going into the food. £20 for half a plate of food because my stomach was so bloated from the msg. Also be careful of you leave full plate they will charge you £5. Whole place is just very sneaky and I don't like it.

Terrible never be back, 12 empty containers and what was there was aweful, overcooked, dried, for the money, discusting

Went here couple of days ago and was soo disappointed. Food had hair in it not just one but a few on my first dish. I told the waiter (who could hardly speak any English) he just walked away from me. I then went to leave without eating anything and they wanted me to pay in full. Disgusting place and not very friendly at all

Had a lovely lunch the food was piping hot and lots of variety the beef curry was delish, all round well but when I went to pay I was shocked at the prices, £14.99 per head lunch that is dear I wouldn't rush back as too expensive for a lunch. Little more about the waiters give us time to enjoy they were round as soon as you put your cutlery down,

Upped their prices from Monday to Wed when eat out to help is on. This is not the intention of this scheme. Makes you wonder if they pay all due taxes in normal times. Can't go back on principal now.

Missed this restaurant so much was shielding and was a bit scared to go to eat out but no problem. They take your temperature on arrival sanitising Station and contact details spaced out really well not the same amount of customers which is good so book in advance give you gloves to serve yourself the sweet plates are all disposable and the cakes individually wrapped be going back as we felt safe

Missed hup Lee so much then they started a takeaway during this time tried it tonight was brilliant everything was boiling hot we collected it and took it to bellshill was delicious as usual can't wait till they open back up

Food was hot today which made big difference but we went at 12 noon so food just made. Lovely big place staff was nice Food good be back soon

The price is absolutely ridiculous, £36 for an adult & child lunch with one juice each. Food is ok but nothing special, cheesecake was still frozen in the middle, strawberry mousse tasted like it was off, ice cream was hard and freezer burned plus staff constantly staring and clock watching. Felt rushed and uncomfortable. Not a good atmosphere. Would definitely give it a miss and go elsewhere!!! Many friendlier, cheaper with more of a tastier choice out there. Avoid

Myself and colleagued where staying in Motherwell on business for two days and visited this restaurant for two nights. Food is great quality and lots of choice and 1st night service was good so decided to visit again on second night. Food was just as good on second night but when we went to pay the bill we had to ask for seperate bills for the three of us as we where claiming it back on expenses. The first night we asked the same and it was dealt with quickly and professionally and we had a good chat with the young man on the till. The second night we asked the same of a older chinese gentleman at the till and was met with tutting and raising of eyebrows. He was obviously really put out we asked for three seperate bills and continued to make us feel very uncomfatable while he was sorting it out. I would have given 5 stars for food and quality but sorry you lost two stars for a very poor member of staff who really needs some customer service training. Lovely food, great choice but spoilt by a miserable member of staff.

Went to Lunch with a friend and the variety of food was magnificent. It went from Soups, Salads and a variety of Chinese Starters to Chinese Curries, Meats, Pasta, Rice, etc with various Sweets to finish. Staff were replacing food very quickly as the Restaurant was quite busy. There was no wait for choices to be replaced. Staff were friendly but discreet and removed empty plates quickly and efficiently. Well worth the cost and we will be back again.

Best buffet nearby, always top class and a decent price. Once you go once you’ll always want to go back

I came here tonight for dinner with my partner and the food was ok , my last plate I got had chicken fried dumpling things - but they smelled off , so it put me off my dinner , so I placed it to the side - at this point my partner left to use the Mens room and that’s when I was approached by one of the waiters , he asked if I was finished and I said yes as I didn’t like it - he then pulled out a leaflet and slammed it in the table and told me to read - I said what ? And he then said in a raised voice “what can you not read” while pointing to the leaflet!the leaflet stated that if there was wasted food I would be charged, no one told me this when I first arrived! Overall the food was ok but I will certainly not be back and will be telling my friends and family to stay away because of they way I was treated !

Absolutely disgusting will not be back, asked for a LARGE fried rice chips and gravy, the ‘fried rice’ doesnt seem fried and it is really gooey, the chips are still hard in the middle, seem to have been reheated, the gravy is like water not one bit of taste to it, absolutely disgusted and will not be back, older gentleman who was also in the shop was trying to have conversation with members of staff which he knew in the back shop and the lady behind the till was cutting him off at every chance she got and kept saying ‘Money Money’. Do not recommend anyone to eat here staff are clearly very ignorant

Outstanding buffet with plenty of choices for every palette, friendly attentive staff , would highly recommend this Chinese restaurant

Went to Hup Lees for lunch. Excellent choices. Very Hot food that was repenished quickly. Staff very friendly and atmosphere warm.

We were taking my daughter of 10 to celebrate her finishing her show we arrived a family of five me being in a wheelchair was told we could only have a table if my food was brought to me the whole idea of coming to this restaurant was to experience the buffet my wife had been a few weeks earlier and said it was wonderful.

Ideal for a special occasion just like we had. 30 people discovering cousins they didn't know they had and enjoying the night with great food and such a variety too. there was a karaoke machine and it got people letting their hair down and enjoying themselves. A great place to have a party, a special room and great food.

I went to hup lee for the first time ever and after my friends raved about it I was very excited, however I have to say that it did not exceed my expectations. The food was okay but it wasn’t very hot by the time I got back to my table. As it was a buffet I got carried away and grabbed a rather large plate, prior to being full I decided to have a break from my meal by sitting back and leaving it until I was ready to eat it again. A member of staff came and took my plate without even asking if I was finnished, it might be a buffet but it is common curtesy to ask customers if they are finnshed with their meal . Overall I think the staff where very rude and inconsiderate of their customers. I would rather enjoy my local Chinese in the comfort of my own home than dressing up to eat something that is just okay

Staff unfriendly and food not that great at all paying top prices for rubbish as food is very bland and sometimes borderline cold

Went here for the dinner buffet as my partner said it was suggested to him by a work collegue , place had car park which was good ,went in at around 5ish were seated right away all the food was lovely tasted great and so fresh , what they had was more than a variety for me l9vely place will definetly return

Went for lunch today with my brother everything was fine, got to desert and he had left his plate for a matter of seconds when he was speaking to me when it was swiped away from him when he wasn't even finished it. I hate how the servers hover over you as if they are rushing you out the door, but they are grateful for your money. Next time i'll be telling them to bugger off.

Was there tonight for my son's birthday with family my grandson is only 3 and when we questioned them about the meal they had judged him on his height .he is a tall boy for his age but they still charged him the full price for kids , as they said they judged kids on height i mean the wean only ate a few chips and cucumber and jelly plus the bill was the dearest we as a family have ever paid and we go out a lot of places as a family and good eating places but to judge a child by his height i am sorry but we will not be taking birth certificate with us to prove his age , will never be back neither will my family

A party of 8 visited the restaurant for the buffet.The selection of starters main courses and desserts was outstanding. The quality and quantity of the food was praised by all.the staff were continually replenishing the serving dishes.A great night had by 8 elderly gents who have vowed to return shortly.

We visited the restaurant for my mums birthday. Lots of selection even for a fussy vegetarian like me. Everything we had was warm, fresh and tasty.

Went today with my hubby as a treat..... Couldn't fault the food or the service.... Food was constantly being replenished and plates were removed within a minute of finishing.... Staff were really friendly and restaurant was spotless..... Will definitely be going back again.xx

Have been here lots and lots of times and have sadly been dissapointed of late.Why has there been a sign on the door stating that the card machine doesn’t work for the last six weeks at least(it does work ,you have to ask to try it)They state cash only and when you ask about card payments they try to fob you off by saying oh it works sometimes or oh it wasn’t working the other day and we just put the sign up in case it doesn’t work????If it’s not working then why aren’t they getting it fixed?Also it has become really expensive and buffet dinner is about £31 odds for 2 people.Hmmm that’s more expensive than Glasgow city centre on a Friday/Saturday night.On a recent lunch occasion I ordered a half pint of soda water and lime and although it was nowhere near a half pint glass they charged £2.40.I pointed out that it was a quick blast of water with gas on tap and a drip of lime juice only to be told that if I went elsewhere it would be more expensive.Nonsense since price varies from free in some places to about £1.50.I know this because it’s all my mum drinks and we lunch frequently.Also on another recent occasion they gave me a bill for three lunches when there were clearly only two of us.When I pointed it out the girl said ok they are getting mixed up at the till but no apology.Poor customer service.On a positive note,the food is excellent and the place is always very busy so why are you getting soooo greedy and trying to rip people off?

Worst place ever order all wrong. Chinese woman phones me gives me a mouthful off check!!! Then has the ignorance to hang up the phone!! Im the customer she got my order wrong then proceededs to be cheeky hang up the phone and not offer another takeaway to be sent!!! Will never order from there again!!! The actual cheek off the receptionist and owner!!! Disgrace

Worst buffet I have ever been too. It all started with card machine not working. To being in ten minutes and getting our first and last plate of food. Choice was poor! Was very cold! Disgusting actually. Worst Chinese food I’ve ever tasted.

So disappointed with this place. Food was mostly cold or luke warm and nearly all of it was tasteless. Even the desserts were a let down, oh and for anyone going for lunch, they do not turn on the chocolate fountain during the day - evenings only. It was Bank Holiday Monday and even though I called ahead to ask price and opening hours, when we arrived they charged weekend lunch prices and argued with me about it, stating "for god sake its only a pound extra"... and still no chocolate fountain even though your paying the weekend supplement. Sorry. bad service, bad manners and extremely bad food. Will not be returning and would say to anyone one that is thinking of trying this place... dont waste your money, go elsewhere.

Good food however felt rushed for it being a party staff often walking up as we were eating. Karaoke was outdated and staff didn’t know how to work the machine. The reason for my low rating is because afterwards I forgot to lift my handbag and when I called I was told yes it was there.. however on pick up items such as perfume were missing. My contact details were taken and no one has called. This was the first time I had visited your restaurant and unfortunately it will now be my last as someone on your staff has stolen from me.. very disappointing

We regularly visit here. The foods is out of this world!! There’s always loads to choose from too! Can’t recimmend enough!

Just to be clear, this is the takeaway I'm reviewing, not the main buffet restaurant. On stopping for a takeaway this week, I was charged £7.00 for a curry and rice, despite it saying on the menu £6.70. When I asked if he had made a mistake, the young male assistant said it was 30p for boiled rice. I then said but on your menu it clearly states "all main dishes include boiled rice unless otherwise stated". He then became very defensive and said "that's what the computer charges". Clearly no apology for misleading/wrong information and couldn't care less about customer service. Based on my experience, I will never return and would strongly urge this establishment to correct its menus so it doesn't mislead other customers. Just as well there's plenty of Chinese estabslishments in Motherwell to chose from (and better ones at that).

put prices up by three pound per person over Christmas and new year, the menu hadn't changed disgracefull ripping people of over the festivities. Appaulled

ive been to the Hup Lee on numerous ocassions it is good value for adults not so much for children ,there is a wide selection of food and the service is very quick ,place is spotless

The restaurant is highly, clean and modern. We didn't reserve but got a table right away at peak time on a Friday night.

Had a meal tonight in this venue, nice selection off Asian food, liked the chocolate fountain this is nice with the fruit plus shortbread.

Última comimos aquí en la calle 21 de julio. La sopa de fideos de pollo, atún pasta era preciosa y col, así como las bolas de pollo y platos de carne. Mi marido y yo pasamos una agradable comida. La única pega de este restaurante es que no puedes ayudar, pero tropiezan con la gente ya que es muy concurrido, y eso es molesto cuando estás llevando comida caliente. Estás constantemente zigzaguear entre personas en el buffet. Es problemático si hay niños pequeños.

Mi experiencia ha sido mixta. Así que decidí darle otra visita y debo admitir que yo estaba más que feliz y sólo para asegurarse que no era un punto volví en mi propio. Misma actitud amable y comida de lo más agradable. Mi única crítica fue que mi solitaria visita fue más tarde de la hora punta y algunos platos estaban casi rozando la cálida. Dicho esto volveré más adelante.

So disappointed. Regular at Hup Lee and we always put up with the waiters moving about the menu stand when they sit you down, just to draw your attention to their "rules". BUT... when you visit on such a regular basis, we really don't need a constant reminder. Went for lunch on 2 July and the "rules" were waived in our face no less than four times. Just before leaving, two waiters came to clear the table and clearly one felt more senior than the other. The man shoo'd away the girl and I quickly realised why... he didn't want to miss his opportunity to tell-off a customer who hadn't finished her dinner (me!). I left two bits of chicken and some rice... the chicken was so chewy and the rice was like a big clump of mush. I'd been put off be my last mouthful but didn't want to be rude by putting the waiter in the awkward position of having to deal with food quality issues so I just said I was full. Big mistake! HERE this waiter jumped, with his seniority complex, and began the talk down... pointing to the "rules' about food wastage and telling me I really should be taking smaller portions and clearing my plate. I politely answered that I was a regular, understood food wastage issues and thanked him for his due attention. The talk down didn't persist until I got up to leave and pay the bill.Totally disgusted to be talked to like a child. Do Hup Lee really have sooo many customers that they can afford to push people away by giving them a third decree nasty attitude?!AND all the while... there were at least 4 sets of parents breaking your other "rule" about letting kids go to the buffet unsupervised.... were they given the A-hole attitude we got? Nope! Always thought this place suffered the worst customer service... but we kept going because the food was decent. They used to have the upper hand being the biggest Chinese buffet. But there are plenty other options like world buffet now and we'll be going elsewhere from now on...I'd much rather even buy a takeaway than sit in an overcrowded restaurant with chewy chicken, clumpy rice, all for a premium price whilst a waiter tells me I won't be out to play unless I eat up

After going to huplee, I cannot order a Chinese takeaway.. whenever I'm in the mood for a Chinese I need to go here because the food and selection is just amazing! It is a tad expensive but so is Chinese food in general so I'd much rather pay a bit extra and be able to enjoy great quality food

Having been to the Hup Lee on several occasions since discovering it , we travel from the south side of Glasgow to get there a good 30 min journey depending on traffic. On this occasion we took our 2.5 year old daughter and 6 six year old son , our daughter had a small plate of chips and a scoop of ice cream for desert. For the 4 of us including one soft drink each and the bill was £65 which I think is a tad pricey for a family meal particularly when one is only 2.5 and hardly ate anything.£11.80 per kid is shocking as they would never be able to eat anywhere near that amount. Nice food but won't be back.

Fantastic place to eat, all u can eat buffet. Always a wide selection of foods, fresh. Have tried loads of Chinese buffets but this is by far the best. Unfortunately we don't live in the area so don't visit as much as we would like

Ive been several times, each time i have found the staff very courteous and smart. I have been for the lunchtime buffet, the range of food and quality are always excellent, i would definately give 5 stars its great value for money

Visited this restaurant today. There were 4 of us out for my 50th birthday celebration. We ordered 2 diet cokes and 2 beers. Had a lovely dinner plenty of choice. On one of the plates though I found a hair on which didn't belong to any of us. I told one of the waiters who aplolgised and said it was because it was an open buffet. I was totally fine with that as these things happen. When the bill came which was over £70 We discovered that we had been charged for 3 soft drinks instead of 2. We said to the waiter that served us that this was wrong to which he replied are you sure you didn't order another drink. We explained that we hadn't which he looked bemused and asked us again if we were sure. He then left and came back with the head waiter who asked us again if we were sure we hadn't had anything extra I replied that the only thing I got extra was the hair on my plate. The head waiter just laughed and said I was lucky to get something extra. By this time another member of staff appeared. So three staff were standing round us which was so embarrassing for our family. They eventually changed the bill. Why on earth would we pay £70 for dinner and try to get a £2.80 drink for free. I had a great night until then but I will never be back.

We went for lunch today and although the food was okay, the service was terrible. The waiter was extremely rude. When we ordered drinks (3 soft drinks, a wine and a beer for the 5 of us), we asked for some water for the table and he said no! He said there wasn't enough room on the table for extra glasses even though it was a huge booth to seat 6 people. I couldn't believe he was refusing us water and the worst part was he said we had to 'use our common sense'! He was so insulting and in order to get some water (as I was super thirsty) I changed my soft drink for a glass of water. I have never heard anything so ridiculous in my life and I'll never be back in there again.

I'm that's disgusted in the things I have just seen in here I can't even wait until iv left the building to put my review on!Food that's been dropped being picked up and put back on the buffet, tables leaving and the cutlery and napkins that have been used being reset for the next customer! I feel physically sick just now at the thought of what I may have just ingested if they are behaving like this in full view of customers what the hell is going on in the kitchen! Iv always had a lot of time for this place but never again it just shows that most of the rumours we hear about this place are more than likely true!! Also arriving to meet half the kitchen staff in the car park smoking in full chef whites isn't exactly a good impression for those willing to risk a visit, a designated smoking area out of customer view would go down a treat! Oh and if you visit the toilet careful you don't slip on what ever horrible smelling product they have just sprayed all over the seats and floor... Great that an attempt of cleaning has happened not so much it's resulted in a slippy hazard.

Since visiting your restaurant on Saturday I have had food poisioning since, and hadn't ate anything else that night after visiting that could of caused it, for weeks I have had 2 meal replacement shakes for breakfast and lunch, then a main meal at night, saturday my dinner was at your establishment and I have been ill since, 3 days on and still not better, won't be returning! overpriced buffet that had made me ill, looks like I might need to consult a doctor if this keeps up any longer! would like to see if you will bother to resolve this issue or turn a blind eye to it.

Went for lunch today and as it's a bank holiday charged an additional £1.90 per person- why? There was no additional food. Strawberry ice cream had white plastic throughout it- got 2 pieces in it which was enough to put me off coming back!!

Comfortable sitting areas. Very good service, always clearing used plates away. Food carvery varied and always paying attention to renewing dishes.

Recently visited as a treat during the school holidays. The restaurant is well kept. Plenty of food to choose from which was hot, tasty and something different to try. Well worth a visit and if i had one criticism it would probably be the price charged for children especially during school holidays. Otherwise enjoyable experience.

My daughter visited the restaurant yesterday, and although the food was ok, the customer service left a lot to be desired. Respectable young people are entitled to be treated with respect. Therestaurant was chosen as a treat for working hard with school studies, not a 'treat' she would repeat.

My daughter and 6 friends visited the restaurant today the food was ok but the staff were very rude and couldn't get rid of them quick enough even although they were quiet and well mannered throughout. No respect for young people

Probably one of the better buffets I have visited, many dishes, all pretty decent.Restaurant was busy and reasonably priced.

I visited in January with friends and although the food was decent for a buffet style restaurant the staff are constantly hovering over you waiting to take your plates. A few times they tried to lift our plates and we had to tell them that we weren't finished. The staff are not child friendly either even although the children with us were on their best behaviour! Perhaps worst of all though was that when the bill came it was almost double the price it had been when we visited previously. When we questioned this we were advised that they were still charging extra as they had done over the Christmas and New Year period, when we advised that it was now January we were told that it was still the holiday period. We also questioned why there were no notices up to make this clear and were advised that there were posters outside with their Christmas and new year prices. Total rip off!!!

Food was tasty enough but cold empty trays and staff not very welcoming made it a night to remember not to go back.

AVOID .... staff are always at ur back while eatting! Faces tripping them if u walk in with kids! The old man at the door should be sacked! Worst member of staff i have ever encountered. For buffet in motherwell they like to think there above you!

Staff are very helpful and the food is good value. There isn't much to criticise, the only thing I can think of is the price of the drinks. Other than that, good night out or lunch.

Very good Chinese Buffet where friendly staff ensure that the availability of all the food is maintained, plates cleared from table quickly and drinks ordered and brought to table quickly. Food quality also great, not the dried out fare so often associated with buffets

One of the nicest chinese buffets I've ever been to. The shredded honey chicken is fantastic and I always feel that the staff are very accommodating. Decor is very nice & they have a great desert selection too.

We found it good value for the money good selection of food,but Don't like that a certain height for children had to pay full price didn't see much of the staff,well after all it is a buffet.

Just back from hup lee for my nephews birthday and have to say food was good but the customer service was not. There were two kids in our party under 6 and were fussy with food so left some and got more that they enjoyed. Noticed 5 times that staff were coming into room and staring at us which made some of party uncomfortable. When I spoke to one of waiters and asked if something was wrong was told we were gonna be charged for wasting food and they have to pay for weight of refuse bags that was the reason. So what do they do with all the wastage at night I wonder. I'm a manager of a restaurant myself and had to laugh at this, never in my 22 years in the industry have I ever heard such rubbish and experienced such bad customer service. This was stated in front of other customers who were watching as we were basically getting a telling off for not finishing our dinner. Hup lee I'm appalled that you deem this acceptable behaviour

This buffet is varied and there are some really good items on the menu, it is no more or less than you expect froma buffet diner and is obviously good value for money especially if you are a large family and kids seem to love it so that's a plus for family dining. On occasion I have observed staff being a bit abrupt with customers and though it is better than some buffet reteraunts I have visited it is run of the mill in many ways. A plus is you can be seated served and finished eating in a flash if it is a quick lunch you are looking for.

We visited this at the request of my young granddaughter who loves it there .We tend to go for lunch and have been on many occasions . The food is always good and fresh ( it's never left to sit in the containers for too long ) here's an excellent and wide choice of dishes .It's good value for money , although i think the price for children is a bit expensive .Our only complaint ( for want of a better word ) is that the staff always seem grumpy ... A smile or 2 would go a long way to making it a better dining experience ! I'd recommend the Hup Lee though for the good food , nice surroundings and everything is very clean including the toilets !

Been here countless times. Always a safe option and never disappoints. Food always good, staff always friendly and always making sure there is enough food out.

Visited hup lee on many occasions. Bookings for larger families, parties are available. Lunchtime is lovely but slightly more choice at dinner. Food is always fresh and hot with plenty of choice. Drinks are expensive and although service is great it can be annoying when they try to clear your plate constantly. Definitely worth a visit

What is it about the staff here .....they are rude ...asked for a window seat I was made to feel like I was asking for the pot of gold at end of a rainbow ....very strange attitude ...and to charge £2.60 think it was for a can of drink ...which was warm ...nope will not be back ...oh and nothing special about the food on a Friday night yes it's tasty but only difference from day time was a chocolate fountain ...will stick to take away not worth the money at £14.99 a head ....

Food ok been to better buffet style drinks expensive wont hurry back lacks dishes and also what was on was on offer was in small amounts shame because when they had the take away place food was first class

Took wife and kids here for Lunch on Saturday was fantastic, food was excellent a lot of choices to pick from ,staff were friendly free wifi without all the hassle of logging on and passwords just connect and go kids loved it too. Prices are a little more expensive than other Chinese restaurants but the quality of the food is second to none I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone who hasn't been before exceptional.

This is a bit pricier than other restaurants of this kind, but if you are having a treat it's fine. Always busy so can't be too bad

Excellent food, however it goes quicker than they can put it out, so have to wait. Great selection of food.

We go here quite a lot. Huge selection of food, salads, soups and deserts. Friendly staff and lovely decor. Would recommend to anyone.

Another great visit to The Hup Lee. It's not on our doorstep but well worth the drive. Very clean, great selection of food which is constantly changed to keep the food fresh when the restaurant is a bit quite. Will be visiting again very soon.

My friends and I visit Hup Lee quite often although we live about 20 miles away. The food is excellent and the only reason I have not rated 5 stars is due to a rude member of staff on a previous visit who we do our best to avoid when we go. The seating is well laid out, clean and not cramped. The decor is nice and majority of staff will leave a smile on your face, would recommend for buffet lovers. Pricing is mostly in line with other buffet restaurants in our area so happy to drive to Hup Lee.

Great variety of main courses and a surprisingly large choice of desserts! Staff were friendly. Great value for money!

Would have been full marks if there was a better selection for the kids and a refill drinks option available. Other than that, the food was nice, selection of food was good and restsurant was clean and tidy. I would recommend this place for adults and I would go back but without the kids next time.

Visited here on a Sunday early evening and it was already busy. We were seated quickly and served drinks quickly too. Quite a nice atmosphere and not too noisy. Buffet was constantly being replenished, which was good. Food was good but not great maybe because of the volume as there were so many choices. Price was reasonable and overall a nice experience.

Can't fault this place the food is lovely and plenty to choose from, the staff on the other hand need to smile more!!

I used to go to Hup Lee several years ago but gave up going as everything just seemed to be salty and deep fried.However went back recently and was very impressed with it - this was a visit in the afternoon about 4pm and I was concerned that we might be "between" lunch and dinner diners and the selection wouldnt be great. However, food was great, huge selection across all courses, service (for drinks) very quick.Will definitely go back and thoroughly recommend it.

My 14 year old son took me for lunch as a Mother's Day treat. After being seated the waiter came with the drinks and dropped a full pint of cola all over the table and myself. Obviously he apologised and moved us to another table. (Accidents happen) Later another waiter dropped cutlery off the tray he was carrying hitting the back of my chair.Finally when we got the bill my son had put £30 in the wallet to pay..... Waiter lifts the wallet to check how much was there, then proceeds to ask if we want change??? Shocking service first I had been back in for a long time but most defiantly will never step foot back in this place!!!

The food is fresh and hot because the resturant is popular and very busy. The menu doesn't seem to change much from week to week. I used to go there a lot but it has lost its appeal mainly because it's so noisy, you can't have a quiet conversation in the place and I just don't fancy the food anymore.

Been here,a few times. Very mixed, airing more on okay than delicious. Very specious Loads of tables always to keen to take your plate away. Plenty variety food can vary in quality at times. There is a charge for not finishing food If the plate is generous with leftovers and also a charge of 5 pounds for putting your plate in the chocolate fountain. A bit over priced for a buffet , better going for a pub lunch.

The fact the place is always blooming packed is a good indicator of whether this place is any good or not. Probably the best Chinese Buffet in the area. It's not perfect but I've yet to find a buffet place that is. What I will say is that the selection is probably the best in the area and I fear if it was any larger it may have an adverse effect on food quality.I've also noticed that they seem to have two function rooms should you wish to have a bit more privacy as you're eating your chilli chips. Never done it myself but there's usually a birthday party on or something when we go.They also have a chocolate fountain, along with a sign which says that if you try to capture some of the chocolate in a bowl they'll charge you £5. I'm almost tempted to do it once just for the experience. In a similar vein to my earlier point about it being busy, this also tends to mean that the car park has no spaces however if you continue on and turn right at the lights you can park behind the shops.
